My Restaurant has been buying beer from Eagle Brands for more than 6 years, always paying COD. We are small business trying to survive like most. Recently, I ordered 3 kegs of beer and 5 cases of "Hatuey" a cuban style beer that I was showcasing just because my restaurant has a Seafood Cuban cuisine. The kegs arrived with no problem and when I asked about my bottle beer order, the sales rep. & the manager told me that now (after COVID) there was a minimum order of 10 cases in order for the truck to stop at my place. I explained to them that this beer does not sale that much in my area and that I had no space to stock 10 cases, besides the order has to be paid COD on a product that does not sale that much. They still did not care, the problem is they use one truck for kegs and one truck for cases, then the asked me if "Gold Coast" would delivered 5 cases of beer. The answer is "Yes" because they use one truck for all the deliveries, therefore, I can order, 5 cases of Miller Lite, and 3 Kegs of beer. As a result of their great "customer service and appreciation" to my business I told them I will take my business someplace else, where they don't force me to buy what I don't need, or paid in advance for a product that may be bad by the time I sell it. Customers will accommodate to what we offer and are always asking for "local beers", in the Florida Keys are two local breweries that will be delighted having my business and I would love to help another small business survive after the industry was so hard hit with this pandemic.
