Love all the steak at BLT, but this crepe was everything!!! So tasty and not too sweet.
We dine at BLT 3-4 times a year. Tonight's experience was absolutely horrible from the service to lack of heat in the restaurant. It will be a long time before we return to the BLT.
Very good. Great service. Good meat and fries were cruel. The ginger and basil ice cream was amazing. (If you like ginger and basil)
Absolutely Love this place, food is great and service was even better!!!
Amazing! Fabulous service! Wow if your looking for great service and wonderful food this is your place. We were in DC for July 4th week and enjoyed our dinner. Keep up the great work we enjoyed our dinner!
Pricey sure, but worth it! Impeccable service. Amazing food. My overly casual dress didn't phase them or diminish the experience they provided.
Had a very nice birthday lunch here. They start you off with their special gruyere popovers which were delicious and they give you the recipe with them. Nice touch. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection (medium). The salad wedge was just okay (not enough dressing, blue cheese and bacon) and the mashed potatoes pretty blah. Service was fine. Atmosphere okay, nothing extra. I would definitely return but I'd say as steak houses go, they are not quite on the same level as Ruth Chris, Mastro's or The Capital Grille, hence 4 stars instead of 5.
My husband went here for our wedding anniversary. I got the Cowboy Ribeye and the Wagyu Bone in Ribeye. Both of the steaks were excellent, we didnt need steak knives to cut into the meat. It was soft and buttery, infused with an array of flavor. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was light and friendly. All round great experience. Oh!!! Get the mac n cheese, you'll thank me.
First of let me say the service is finominal. Second the food and presentation is above and beyond your taste buds. This is the place to visit for lunch or dinner.
After a grand lunch at Mastros, I went with the same group here for apps and drinks. Less than four hours later I was in the hospital with food poisoning -- BAD TUNA TARTAR.
That is all I have to say about that!
Great service, excellent steak cooked perfectly, choice of sauces all are incredible, do not skip the Brussels sprouts!!!!!
God is real!!!! The Cowboy steak still is on my mind and I didnt even order it,I was eating my wife's lol
Came here. Had new york strip well done smothered in the finest catsup. Very good! I know steak and believe me this was amazing! As they say in france.. bravo!
Great food, even better service but not 5 stars because the drinks menu was pretty sad (and the drinks were inconsistent)
Service was ok. Steaks not memorable at all. Good happy hour crowd. I might go back to the bar for snacks.
Extremely overpriced for the quality of good and service.
Two years ago it was 5 stars ...it is now 1 star. Reason...beef prices are up and they have not raised prices to compensate as a result:
1. Very pushy with wine and bar menu. $9 FOR A BOTTLE OF PELLEGRINO YES $9 WTF??? The highest in town. Be warned they dont ask if you want another bottle, they just keep it coming!
2. Appetizers are tiny
3. $8 for french fries $12 for mashed potatoes....a tiny cup of mashed potatoes.
4. Desserts are a joke. The praline malt sundae use to be mostly icecream. Last time it was mostly whipped cream $11
5. They are very staff heavy and everyone has their hands out for a tip.
The Esquared Hospitality Rewards program is a sad sign of the times. Makes them on par with Ruth's Chris.
It is no longer a place I consider taking someone out for a special evening. The charm is over and it is just another overpriced bla DC steakhouse.
Bourbon Steakhouse at the Four Seasons still does a great job!
Excellent service! Food was great. Atmosphere was perfect. For a high budget and corporate events.
Awesome. The bartender met us first and really knew her stuff. A great drink to start. To dinner. Popovers - the best - and a seafood tower. Then STEAK! Cooked perfectly. Verrrry tasty. Great place to entertain guests. Thanks.
I'm at a loss at the amount of food accompanied by the HOSPITALITY. MY new friends Sarah V. and Kelvin were beyond accommodating loving funny... I'm definitely going back. Ohhhh and my favorite . He knows... Thank you Wednesday evening (bday Eve) crew.
The food was delicious and variety of wine selection available including champagne!
Our server was great- he failed to give his name or else I would of gave him a shout out.
Manager on duty was making rounds and asked how was everything.
Came here for my birthday and was given a dessert <3
EXCELLENT. A steak place that is high end but not stuffy or pretentious? This place is a unicorn restaurant.
First, the good: The service is A+. Attentive wait staff constantly refilled water, scraped crumbs off the table, and whisked away dirty plates.
Now, the bad: We were looking for a moderately-priced restaurant after visiting the nearby National Geographic Museum. We chose this place because we thought the name BLT Steak sounded like a sandwich place. Um, no.
Once we sat down and looked at the menu, I had to laugh: $60 for one steak, $90 for another steak.
We decided to stay anyway and order the cheapest entrees on the menu.
My daughter and I ordered lemon rosemary chicken for $33. The chicken was tender and tasty but nothing special. My son ordered the salmon for $35 (he said it was the best he's ever had). At those prices, I would expect one or two side orders to be included, but no. A side order of french fries was $12. The popovers were overdone.
Dinner for 3 with no alcohol, no appetizers, and no dessert was $165, including tip.
I have eaten better meals elsewhere at a fraction of the price. I would not eat here again because of the price and the noise. That is why I deducted two stars.
This place was very disappointing their food lacked seasoning and the descriptions on the menu were inaccurate the servers are very ingrnuine just wanting to rack up the bill. The food was not worth it I personally had the lemon chicken and it was extremely subpar. I only gave it two stars because my bf enjoyed his steak. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.
Consistently a delicious experience. A bit pricey, unfortunately. Always looking forward to that pop over bread and butter welcome snack.
Despite being a steak restaurant, the vegan dish was delicious. I called in before arrival, and they were incredibly accommodating. Great flavor! 10/10
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Thank you so much for your Veterans Day special... 3 years in a row and we will be back next year.
Both of our meals cooked as we ordered and tasted EXCELLENT! service was fast and kind. Jenny recommended excellent wine and the char for my medium rare steak. I'd revisit and recommend.
Great service! Our server Ben was dynamite! Make sure to get the chicken liver pate' and popovers.
Went with a group of 12 after our Trade Show event. I travel for work and have eaten everywhere from Mortons Steakhouse to greasy spoon diners. The food was outstanding but our waitress was hands down one of the worst I have ever experienced. At one point or another completely ignored what was being said to her by multiple people, got orders missed and INSISTED on taking orders in an around the table fashion clockwise. Spoke like a robot. No character, no personality. While its not easy waiting a table of twelve, a high end steak house should be up to the task. A $1,500.00 food and drink bill means you are delivered 5 star service. Figure it out. It made the evening very much less enjoyable. Also, unlike literally almost everywhere on the planet, there was no automatic tip of 18%-20% added to the bill for a gratuity for a large party. Imagine the embarrassment of the CEO being accosted on the sidewalk and asked to return to add a tip for what was already substandard service. There are other high end steak houses available and we will use them.
Great atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food is definitely something I will never forget. Great!
The place offers a nice range of fresh food. I like dining here. The employees are always very friendly, pricing is fair and the place is always well organised.
The sides were great and so was the wine selection, however my steak was overcooked and too salty! It was still good and I didn't complain but for the price you are paying the steak should come out perfect. Sadly this was not the case. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is nice. The female bartender was a bit rude but luckily we didn't have to deal with her much. Our servers we great and the manager even came out a couple of times to chat with us about our dinner.
steak was amazing. Might have been the biggest baked potato I've ever had too! So good!
It is a very nice steakhouse. Great popovers, but you know it like I would give them a 5 star but it doesn't feel like it. The french fries are crunchy but really chewy and heavy. Wine list is really strange and really expensive. I guess it's a little things like that keeps the business from getting 5 .
Came here for a business lunch/meeting. Fantastic food. The lobster roll and lobster cobb salad were great. The BLT superb! Get's crowded so a reservation could be helpful. It also is a bit loud, but manageable.
Try not to ruin your appetite with their crazy good bread and butter. You are gonna wanna save it for the juicy steak when it comes. Both the ribeye and the filet are top notch. The tuna appetizer was just so so. My friend also got the huge porterhouse which looked great and he liked it.
We had an absolutely fantastic meal here. The service was impeccable, the sommelier had some fantastic wine pairing recommendations. The food was beyond good, and the signature popovers were amazing.
The atmosphere was a bit loud, I wouldn't recommend it for an intimate night out. But it works perfectly for business meals and dinners with friends. Overall a great experience.
Excellent service with delicious pop overs. Our somm Will knew exactly what we wanted.
Wow, the food here was amazing. It's certainly not cheap, but well worth it.
Service was good, quality of tje food was ok. For the price I expected a lot more
Pretentious with all the hovering assistants. Food good.
Perfection for a steakhouse! I have yet to have something bad from here. Bacon is a must try. Staff is wonderful and service is spot on.
I've been to countless high-end steakhouses, and in my opinion BLT is slightly overrated. My girlfriend and I both ordered the NY strip steak. It was cooked just fine, but the meat was tough. It was not worth the $55 price tag. While we were eating, the manager came over with a small gift from the chef. He stated "try this and I'll tell you what it is". So my girlfriend and I went ahead and tried it. Come to find out the dish is cow tongue. It actually tasted pretty good, and I'm very willing to try new foods. My girlfriend on the other hand wasn't very fond of it. It weirded her out. It was very nice of the manger to give us a complementary dish, but with the dish being cow tongue, he should have made that more clear, as not everyone is very keen and willing to try it. My girlfriend was not happy. I said something to the manager about it, and he was polite and understanding of the situation. After a couple minutes the chef came out. He stated "so what was wrong?", and I went ahead and explained the situation. And then he proceeded to argue, stating how it was meat. (Cow tongue is a muscle). I mentioned how I understand his point of view, but it is a muscle. He then proceeded to look at my girlfriend and stated "so was your steak good then?" in an extremely rude demeanor. Moral of the story, if you are serving someone cow tongue, you should probably state what it is, because some individuals are not going to like it, and lastly, the chef is extremely rude. Overall, if you're in DC and looking for a good steakhouse, I do not recommend BLT. I recommend The Palm DC for a good steak.
Price too high for quality of food. Food not seasoned well and tasted as though it was sitting a long time. Atmosphere was nice and wait staff were attentive.
Hadn't been in forever. Had a wonderful night with friends.
You'll pay for it, but this place is no joke. The hamburgers are easily the best, most contrived version I've had in DC. The steak? Well, see above.
Great steak and sides (the hen of the woods mushrooms are the best). Service is friendly and you can always expect a surprise, such as overhear ing conversations about collusion with Russia!
I knew the BLT brand was phenomenal because I had been to BLT burger on 6th Ave in NY many times (now closed). The burgers were the most memorable I have ever had for perfection of cooking to temperature, combination of toppings and overall presentation. BLT Steak in DC is a guarantee of exceptional quality and service so much so that you will never forget it. My husband and I like a seafood option for an appetizer and to share a steak entree with a side of vegetables. Our favorites include the 20 oz Kansas City Strip and the 20 oz NY Strip Steak with Lobster tail. We have had the oysters with Taitinger Champagne and we remember loving the Archval-Ferrer Malbec wine with our steak.
In November we indulged in world renowned steak and red wine in Argentina and thought we would be spoiled for life. I was wrong. Despite how good the steaks were in Buenos Aires' top parrilla's, we are still spoiled by BLT Steak's perfect meats. I learned from living in Japan that each bite counts; fully enjoying food is about quality, subtlety and complexity of flavor and pairings. BLT Steak is a place that every bite of any dish will be exactly that experience. A consultation with the sommelier will guarantee a perfect wine pairing.
What else is good about BLT Steak? The options of steak dipping sauces; you get to pick three to try. My expectations of a high-end restaurant is that I want to say there was something about some aspect of the food I had never tasted before and I doubt I ever will again unless I go right back there. With each steak sauce I tried, I said just that: "Can it get any better? No!" Can the bread get any better? "No!" All of the food is unforgettable here and will have you coming back for more at every opportunity.
A classy but not stuffy steak place, great for a special occasion or just a nice night out.
Service was above and beyond. Staff was super knowledgeable, refilling water promptly, great recommendations on food and wine. Delicious salmon. their popover bread and complimentary oyster made the experience even better. Not crowded.
I have been twice, and both times have been blown away by the food and attentive staff.
6 people for a birthday dinner fantastic from beginning to end staff food experience in a very comfortable happy atmosphere Could not have been better
Popovers are amazing. Everything else is good but I always leave here wishing they had done just a little more, a little better. A little over priced away lunch but comparable to other steak houses at dinner. Serving sizes are generous. Servers are great and knowledgeable.
Great place to dine and drink with lobbyists and legislators.
Ok so... popovers.... Damn Amazing. Typically satisfied with all the meats here. Have eaten here several times and at lunch I'll typically do a salad, all are great. Downgrading a star here because last time the lettuce was clearly wilted and brown. As I went to the restroom so were others. Maybe the delivery didn't come for the day or something but then just say no salads today. That's not a great answer but better than tarnishing your brand.
This was an okay visit. I ordered a baby spinach salad and spicy tuna. I got a Cesar salad, not to bad since it was one I was considering so I kept this and ate it. Then a steak comes out instead of the tuna. It was very noisy in there that night but I thought we had communicated clearly. The waitress apologized and had the meal replaced with the correct spicy tuna and they even comped a dessert. Just seems odd for everything to be off.
We came late, due to me not paying attention to the time; however, they still accomadated us and had a really great time. I will return!!
Love the food. I come here often for lunch. The popovers are amazing. I have to stop myself after one. The food is really good, and simple. I love their steaks. And the salads are also really good. Since it is downtown it can have a very business lunch/dinner feeling. Would recommend if you are in the area.
Drinks were cold food was spectacular service outatanding.
Food was very good and the service was great. I highly recommend this place.
Overall a good steakhouse. The complimentary popovers are okay, but the toast and jam/pate is off the hook! Nice surprise to start the meal. I ordered the hanger steak medium rare with grilled lobster and a side of Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were the best part of the meal. The steak was flavorful but tough. Probably sliced incorrectly. The lobster was nice, but a tiny accent, not worth the $20 extra charge. Let s be honest though, you re not eating here if your counting dollars. I also had their house old fashion with a rum base and their house manhattan. Both good, but not special. Would benefit from premium ice. Service was prompt and friendly.
Came by during lunch to try the Dry Aged Hamburger. The burger was delicious, service was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Our steaks came out nearly well done instead of medium. They apologized and fixed it immediately. They also sent us champagne and dessert free of charge because we were celebrating a new job. Excellent service. Considerate management. Pleasant atmosphere. And, of course, amazing food.
