Bloomingdale's used to be known for their customer service. Well today after shopping for at least an hour I was greeted by only one very nice young man in women's shoes. His name started with an I. He was helpful and actually tried to help me. Most workers couldn't be bothered to help me today. It's sad really I wanted to get a new pair of shoes. Your loss Bloomingdale's.

Sale representatives did not do anything, but watch my every move. Felt really uncomfortable and decided to leave with my boyfriend, he said he felt the same. If you don't look the part, they will stare even if you were "just looking".

I am a frequent shopper at this Bloomingdale's. The store is clean and well organized. The sales associates are overall helpful and happy. I do not frequent the high luxury areas (LV, Chanel, etc), but the clothing on the contemporary section. Great selection of high quality and unique clothing. Bathrooms are very clean. I would definitely recommend shopping here.

Overpriced, somewhat cluttered, not a whole lot of variety, their huge new shoe department is a joke, a ton of shoes on display and almost nothing to even look at. The little eatery on the lower level is good though, if you need a bite after a long day of shopping, the food is great.

What can I say?? ITS BLOOMINGDALES! Who doesn't wanna shop at BLOOMINGDALES!?!?!? I work right on 56th and Lex so when I am in need of a new purse, some jewelry or needing a great gift idea for a friend, I ALWAYS go to Bloomingdales! Don't forget to become a Loyalist Member! I am and have been for years now. I save my points for the end of the year and I rack up on free stuff!

I went there today and it was a horrible experience. I went to buy a tuxedo shirt and noone would even talk to me. There were groups of store associates standing together looking pretty in the men s section. I walked to one of them and asked for help, they told me to wait and someone will be with me shortly. After 20minutes of waiting with utter frustration, I remembered buying an armani suit from there not too long ago, and the guy who works there was really friendly . He was already with another client, I told him about the lack of store associates. He was disappointed, gave me a room to try out the shirts and helped me check out. Therefore if you go there to buy something make sure you know someone who works there, or else no one will help you. I belive most of their revenue/buyers are online based due to the lack of willingness to help their customers.

PS. The shirt I bought was from ETON. If any manager see s this review please hire someone for that section as 3 associates i asked denied working over there and went back to standing at their location doing nothing, staring at the stars. Having more asset protection than associates is never a good thing.

The first time I went here was with my mom on our trip to NYC in 1988. We also went to Macy's flagship store. I bought a striped navy and white dress here. I think the quality of clothes in terms of design exceeded what is available today. I forgot that Bloomingdale's is associated with NYC when I have been back to visit.

Oh Bloomie's, what happened... A lifelong haunt, I now almost hate passing through the scent/cosmetics areas as the PUSH to smell...try...BUY!!! is STRONG, and in that, uncouth, unwelcoming, and an absolute turn-off for this Native NYer. Brash, often rude saleswomen are TOO extra for their own good. For a better dose of class and panash, Barney's is a MUCH better visit experience for scent/cosmetics. I'd rather go there to overpay nowadays; at least the sales people are polite and not entirely in-your-face.

Okay, a balanced review and experience here.

Okay, a balanced review and experience here.

The ladies whom directed us around the complex displayed impeccable service and class ( don t forget to politely ask for the Visitors Card, if you are a foreigner)

The assistants in the high end gentleman s part of LL, not so much. My wife gave me the go ahead to get a Canada Goose jacket down there, but nobody came to me, so walked away - off to Soho. Why so stand offish?

Then, off for some lunch at Flip. Totally different experience.

Anthony, ( on a Team, everyone is a brand ambassador in my opinion) looked after us so well, and made sure my vegan wife was well catered for, even in a burger themed outlet.

Whilst dining there, several non retail staff members came in for lunch and were chatting, and we got a feeling of what a magnificent community of people work at Bloomingdales to all make it the great brand it is.

I always end up finding great deals here. While most of the stuff is more than I'm willing to pay, there are always great products here that fit my needs. If you're smart, you can get some fabulous clothing here.

Offensive customer service in the Kids Shoe Dept. ...

Offensive customer service in the Kids Shoe Dept. early this evening! My mother requested to see a shoe in a particular size & was asked if she planned to take them!!! -My mom was looking for comfortable shoes for my daughter & was never approached or greeted. She approached the only sales associate on the floor, older dark skinned lady, and requested a size in a shoe but it seemed to run small. The sales associate went on to assist another customer before my mom could ask for a bigger size. Not a big deal. She waited until the associate was done with the customer & approached her again asking if the shoes run small from that brand. My mother was ignored. Then my mom goes on to ask if the other brand of shoes she was interested in, ran small too. Again, she was ignored. She then just asks for a bigger size and the sales associate had the nerve to ask my mother if she planned on taking the shoes!! It doesn t matter if a customer is taking them or not, do your job, provide the customer service you get paid to provide! Needless to say, I told my mom to walk out of there without buying anything for my daughter. This horrible, condescending, attitude my mother had to experience is unacceptable. The whole time the associate looked miserable & unapproachable. Why are you in customer service?! This is not the service one imagines to receive from a brand like Bloomingdales.

When we're in search of a new outfit, a gift, or really anything, this is our go-to spot. We can't come here without making a stop at 40 Carrots for a huge portion of frozen yogurt (with sprinkles).

Ok

What a fantastic shopping experience! Staff so helpful and knowledgeable. It made buying those holiday gifts so much more easy and enjoyable. One point to mention is that if you are from a different state or country, don't forget to go to the visitors center for a discount card to make those hard earned dollars go a bit further! The store is huge and well laid out. If you need a bathroom during your shopping trip, women are on the 2nd and 7th floors while the men are on the seventh floor and the basement.
