Some of the best, freshest seafood I've ever had and quality service that truly made us feel like home. Was glad to be able to sit right in and choose any seat we wanted. Our waitress was very hospitable and didn't have a single shred of rude in her. She made some great recommendations too. While waiting, we were able to truly take in the vibe of the restaurant and the views it provided to the tune of the jukebox. If you visit, look up! The tiles are unique and interesting. Once the food comes out, you'll dig in and won't say a word - just mmms. The fish fingers were massive, the buffalo shrimp were the best I ever had and prepared precisely as they should be, and the fried oysters we're tasty as well. Make sure to save room for dessert!

VERY crowded, but great seafood. I worked there as a runner for a bit, and everyone is nice and attentive. But it isnt for a big gathering, and better for people looking for a quick meal. Not fancy by any means. Paper plates, etc.

The reference for a Marina bar and grill and an absolute institution in the brief yet colorful history of Ft. Lauderdale. You get simple seafood and a pleasant place to enjoy it. The type of place you hope never changes in a city where not much ever stays the same.

I've been here twice and will be back at least a dozen more times. Going in my first time felt like coming home to a new family member's house that I never knew I had. The staff is hilarious and sweet. Service is excellent. The food is ridiculously good. The menu has something for everyone. I plan to eat my way through it at least once. Thanks, Southport for helping my new home feel like home!

I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale (1960- 1986). Southport Raw Bar was my go- to for seafood 30 years ago and it still is. Unpretentious, but clean and comfortable, this place consistently serves fantastic, fresh, well priced seafood and drinks. Nice atmosphere, too, as it's at the end of a yacht- laden canal.

This is my favorite place to go for a fresh seafood in Fort Lauderdale! I usually sit inside by the bar but they also have a wonderful patio overlooking the water. Their grilled oysters with bread crumbs and cheese are simply outstanding and you can't get them anywhere else. The raw oysters are always fresh and the Old Bay seasoned peel-and-eat shrimp are delicious. It's not easy to get a service at the bar though. The bar tender prefers to cater to locals/regulars, so if you are an occasional out of town guest good luck trying to get her attention. The parking is free right in front of the restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Went for a quick bite - the waitress had no idea what any of the dishes consisted of. We asked about two items she said she had no idea ok. Then we ordered a pitcher of beer that tasted flat and hot. Then she kept bringing the food out of piece at a time instead all together so that we can begin eating at the same time so my food got cold whilst waiting for my husbands food. Then she didn t bring water or asked us how we re doing. Once the food was all complete is was bland and disgusting. Never again. Avoid at all cost.

My wife and I were looking for a decent seafood and shellfish place in Ft Lauderdale. We searched and analyzed reviews, and decided to go there. Once we opened the door we had a bad feeling. Old, run down, musty, dark, and packed with people. The menu has some oysters, but I wouldn t dare to order them. The usual shrimp with the ubiquitous old bay seasoning, to give some flavor to tastelessness. On the tables onion rings, fried clams, hush puppies, burgers fries and ketchup. No what we were expecting at all. Would never go back. I put a cross

I live nearby and come here at least once a month for the Old Bay peel and eat shrimp. Great spot to eat seafood on the patio right on the canal. Boats can dock right outside. If you're in for a visit this is is the perfect Fort Lauderdale find.

Was almost completely ignored. Tuesday lunch took over an hour and all we got was a beer and appetizers, since the staff couldn't be bothered to check on us. First time in many years I have ever given less than a 10% tip. Will not be back. Conch balls were good, jalapeno bites were the pre-made frozen kind. The guys at the table next to us waited an hour for the raw oysters and were still waiting o their check after we left. We got up and went to the register to pay and the hostess was unable to identify who our waiter was suppose to be, as we didn't know either; that room another 20min or so.

One of our favorite places to come to! Best grouper and mahi mahi sandwiches you will ever have! Best soups, hotdogs and burgers! Always a treat when we come to eat here. The view is amazing and the service is pretty spectacular!

A legend and deservedly so. Not a fancy place but the food is great, especially seafood. By far, without exception, by a wide margine, wide... THE BEST MUSSELS ON THE PLANET. Reasonable prices as well
