The staff here is always friendly and helpful every time I pop in. I never feel out of place or looked down on for asking a question, which has happened at a few game shops I've been too. The only thing I'd change is their incredibly slow credit card machine/check out process. That's certainly not a deal breaker though!

Love this place. Yes, it's a hole-in-the wall. Yes, it's cramped. Yes, you have to walk across the street to use the restroom. So what. It's filled with knowledgeable staff who are happy to help out, and that's huge. They can help recommend games and love to talk about everything in the store, which is useful when doing research or looking for gifts. They will preorder anything you need and give you a discount for doing so - as well as enabling you to get merchandise before the "official street" date. Sure I can order nearly anything off Amazon or from another online merchant - but I prefer to support my local brick & mortar game store here so that it doesn't go away. My only knock against the place is a lack of space for them to run games - that really is a shame. I'd love to see this place being more of a go-to for casual and League gaming as well as a go-to for in-person research and purchases.

A great local game store. Has a lot in stock (so you don't hear the typical "but we can order that for you"). Super friendly staff and there's always a discount on something you need. My one gripe is that their owner refuses to invest in technology for a point of sale system. The staff has to physically WRITE the description, price, and ID of EVERY item you're buying. This is ludacris. It takes so much time for both employee and more importantly the customer. Even a $100 computer from 2005 would make a world of a difference. It's 2016... Let's do this.

Awesome game store for your game and hobby needs. Enormous selection of board games for those looking for something for game night as well as every CCG under the sun. Garrett, the owner, and the rest of the team are very affable and will help you find whatever you need. Not only that but they are avid hobbyists and will happily chop it up with you about... well anything! My only gripe is that it's a little small for events and releases but it gets the job done. Also no public restroom, you'll need to use Molly Stones. But those two things aside it's a fantastic LGS with a friendly staff. Please support them when you can, local game stores are a dying breed and we're very fortunate to have one in our community, especially one where the people are passionate and friendly.

Gator Games is my favorite gaming and hobby store in California, hands down. I went there once in 2014, was blown away, and made the pilgrimage again four years later. This store has a good selection of board games, all the modern collectible card games, Warhammer, and an incredible selection of new and classic role-playing games. And the staff are the best! I had a lengthy conversation about My Little Pony my first visit. Gator Games is a memorable experience!

If you looking for some kick-ass game selection, this is your place. I knew virtually nothing out table top gaming before walking in here. I learned a bunch and ended walking out with a new game hobby.

When I first walked in, I saw rows upon rows of miniatures, perfect for any needs. More than half of my miniature collection has been bought there. They have miniatures at excellent prices, and the staff are very helpful, and can help you with anything. They have a wide range of items, from board games to Warhammer 40k, and everything in between. All in all, I love the place and shop there whenever I need something for a new campaign.

I used to go to Gator Games a lot. I went today, and was deeply dissapointed. the Staff was not very nice, and I found that they no longer carry as many cards as they used to, they also over charge for games, and do not match prices. I found other game stores that charge half what they do, but Gator Games wouldnt match the prices. Needless to say, I will not be going to Gator Games again. I am sorry, because they use to be a pretty good game store. Not happy with customer service.

Finally got to Gator Games & glad I did. I went for a demo of a new card game coming out being given by its creator - it's nice when game stores have events like that. They seem a tad cramped in their space but, on the other hand, it had a pleasant wall-to-wall games feel to it. I thought their inventory selection seemed good. Unless there's a room I missed, there's not much space for gaming, but there's plenty of parking (I live in San Francisco so worth mentioning). The staff was very friendly. One of the staff members participated in the demo, which was great. Another staff member was attentive when I spent a few minutes browsing.

Go here. Go here, then go here again. Every MTG thing I could has for was here. Stud I didn't even know you could get anymore. Guild theme boxes, sleeves, every dragon shield they have ever made. Place is honestly a home run. Even have a little bit of space to play. Guy behind the counter was clearly passionate about the stuff he sold. 5/5 no Question.

Gator Games has been taking care of my hobby needs since 1999. The store is a study in minimalism, with only the barest racks. They will special order anything you can conceive of, so their walls are deceptive. I have always found their eagerness to be delightful, I recommend them to everyone. The only thing they have ever needed was a place to host roleplaying and card games.

I've been a regular at this game store for nearly two decades and sadly in recent years my opinion of it is a bit of a mixed bag. One big issue is that the store hasn't advanced since it opened nearly three decades ago. Gator's primary adaptation for the modern changes in the gaming industry is adjusting their stock to aim for a generally more casual and younger audience of gamers. The staff is always great though, friendly and knowledgeable. One or more of the employees will always have personal play experience with any game you could possibly have a question about. That knowledge alone has definitely been known to have my group buy a few games we never would have looked at otherwise.

I have been actively involved with Gator Games for years. It an excellent non-electronic game store on the San Francisco Peninsula. The staff is expert in all aspects of tabletop games, whether board, card, or role-playing related. Miniatures and painting supplies are ample, as is a fine selection of obscure older games along with the newest releases. Molly Stone's grocery store is just across the street, and functions as the rest room and biological supplies repository for all nearby businesses should a crisis arise while perusing the excellent inventory of this quality game establishment. Gator Games also has a strong web presence, with their own site and an eBay store where out-of-print games can often be located. They are also happy to order anything not currently in their inventory, and will give you a call when the desired items arrive. Go here. Buy things. Enjoy!

This place is very small and cramped and has a limit on events. I've always known this store for awhile and as a buyer and player now I've come to really dislike it. I only come and play when I have no other options otherwise I have deal with an always understaffed store. They have weird rules that women can't carry around their purses (I'm not a genius but you should never take a women's purse!). Everything in the store is overpriced compared to other competitors. Who charges $3 for a pack of 100 penny sleeves?! The point of then being penny sleeves is that they are a penny each, not more!

The staff member present was very helpful and knowedglable about the games me and my friend were checking out. Overall the shop had a great atmosphere and everything my friend wanted to buy he found easily. Would come here again.

The best board game store ever. I've been to a lot of board game stores and experienced a lack of hospitality. But at Gator Games & Hobby, the staff are very friendly and very helpful in what you are looking for. Now I know it's a small cramped space, but they're collection is vast and usually always stocked with new items. Being from San Francisco, I try my best to make it here as often as possible. I hope that other board game stores take notice and see the value in great customer service, especially in the growing popularity of the gaming culture. Highly recommended this place!

I think this store is the best ever. If you need any board games, cards or books this place will have and if not they'll get it for you. Plus they know the all there games so if you need a question then they will know.

I do not usually go here, but I was in the area on the weekend of the MTG Origins prerelease, so I played here. I had a FANTASTIC time: the staff both ran the competition well and were pleasant to interact with. They laid out and adhered to the rules of the tournament as one would expect, but also created a very pleasant atmosphere, not at all stressful or asphyxiating. The other Magic players were also awesome, and I really enjoyed the event.

Great little local game store with a decent inventory of games and miniatures. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. If they don't have it in stock, they will be happy to order it for you. Gator Games also hosts a regular monthly schedule of organized play.
