Pretty good but wish they didn't impose 12% tip. We should decide!

Main course was lovely. Service very slow waited ages for pudding it was a Tuesday early evening and they weren't even that busy .

Great dining experience, attentive service. Veal escalope was a particular favourite. Look forward to next visit.

We were here for a large family brunch on New Years day. The staff were friendly, the tables clean and well laid out with polished cutlery. Everyone enjoyed their food but some of the poached eggs were over done with solid yolk. The coffee is very French i.e. strong and slightly bitter if you don't add milk. The toilets were clean and well maintained, but are up a flight of stairs.

Expensive, 12.5% added for not excellent service. Doubt if will return.

Very good quality food for low prices. The staff were also very friendly and would make sure there was always water on the table. The food was served very quickly and they decorated and presented our friend's cake nicely for us.

It's not bad. Last time I had the Punpkin Risoto. Was very tasty. The first time I was here I got the mules. Everytime I asked for a pint I got bottle bear. I guess they don't have draft beer

Have been quite often but I am sure every time the steaks get smaller??

Fabulous tasting food for a reasonable price. Good for couples and groups. Had the pork belly which I couldn't fault. I tried to eat it slowly as to saviour it but it was too delicious

Every meal I've had there has been hunky dory but they do put service charge on bill I prefer to leave tip

Fantastic service, very professional management, tasty and superbly presented food that is great value for money. We had a 50th birthday party which will be a wonderful memory for us all.

The best place to eat in Bishops Stortford service is always impeccable and the tip actually goes to the crew.

Extremely attentive staff a very professionally run restaurant and excellent food

I ordered steak frite, it was very tough. Waiter agreed it was a bit over done and offered me a replace. The second steak was tough as well so wasn t able to eat that either (I tried). The waiter didn t say anything about my 2nd steak, then asked if we re ready for our dessert. Dessert was fab. The 2nd steak wasn t mentioned by the waiter. The bill was presented with an optional tip. No we didn t. We go to St Albans Cote fairly often and never have I had a bad meal.

The best restaurant we have visited so far. It is about food but also some magic atmosphere there- you just do not want to leave. We have been there 5 times so far and we believe it is now our place! Well done to all those who have worked to create this warm place!

Food is always good but please employ more waiting staff. They were rushed off their feet and service suffered.

Unfortunately, I went as part of a very large group. The quality of the meals varied depending upon when you got served within the group. People who received their food first were finished by the time the last person was served. Once mains were finished it then took a further 30 to 45 mins for the deserts to be served.

Lovely lunch taken in the outside dining area. Standard of food to be recommended. Excellent, attentive service from a young French waiter. First class!

Very slow service. We waited for over an hour to get our food. Some people who came after us got served their order before us.

Fantastic! We had our first visit as a group of 12 for a birthday celebration (all ages, special dietary requirements). ALL the food arrived at the right time, hot and absolutely delicious. Our waitress went out of her way for one of the children who needed a gluten free meal.
The venue provided very comfortable seating areas and our waitress was lovely. Considering it was very busy the week before Christmas- the service was brilliant.
The only negative was caused by someone on another table having a very loud, aggressive, argument with the poor soul sitting next to her. It would've been better if the manager had intervened. Apart from that, everything was great and we will definitely be back!!

First visit, met a friend for lunch there today. I thoroughly recommend a visit here. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly and a very comfortable environment Aircon was spot on as the weather is so hot. Definately be going again.

We've eaten here multiple times and everything is always great; food, service, quality, prices, drinks. Highly recommended.

Clean good food friendly staff good with young children

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here with our family after my partner and I got married at the local registry. The service was lovely considering our party number and taking into consideration covid restrictions. Thank you again to the staff at Cote (Kasha, Alex and Caroline - I am not sure if the names are 100% accurate).

Really classy place, have had calmari for starters and ribeye for mains, calamari were very good, large portion, and steak was absolutely delightful, made my day. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed :)

Understandably popular and booking ahead is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.

Excellent quality for a chain and this particular branch is, I've been reliably informed, appreciably better managed than some of the others.

Prices are reasonable as the quality is high but the portions are small.

Staff are friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and service is reasonably quick for what was a busy time.

The tables are well spaced so that even when it's busy is doesn't feel crowded. Although the acoustics are not particularly good and conversation can be an effort.

The dishes were a bit overcooked so they made us a discount then a nice commercial compensation. Not expensive dishes.
Beautiful restaurant.

Food was adequete, with calamari slightly overdone, and chicken a tad dry.

Staff were overly attentive with constant interruptions from nunerous waiters/ managers asking if everything was ok/ alright.

Overall though a nice evening with the restaurant full and vibrant, with eating out nearly back to normal.

I went here based on my experience in other branches which had been consistently good - I left disappointed and regretting my choice. 90 minutes to complete a 2 course meal from a set menu in a half empty restaurant - not what is expected and atypical for the chain.

6 people, but 2 x main courses had to be sent back cold. However, it was removed from the bill, but only after asking. Although the 12.5% was automatically added without checking all was ok first!

We visited mid-week at lunch time and had a wonderful meal. Service was quick and staff were very professional and smartly dressed. Our food came quickly and was very nice.
The restaurant stretches much further back that one would expect when you look at it from the front. We sat outside in the sunshine in the delightful rear garden area.
Well worth a visit, we would certainly return again.

Great food and friendly staff. Always willing to go an extra mile.

They managed to find a table for us but said we had to be out by 7pm. Thought this would be plenty of time having arrived at 5.40pm. They were prompt at taking our order but it stopped there. Our starter, which we were sharing, came out at 6.25pm. They didn t notice until about 6.15pm that we were still waiting as it was difficult to get someone s attention. The manager did apologise and took it off the final bill. The mains arrived and while the duck dish I had was good it was cold at the ends and the potato was luke warm - clearly they had cooked the main before our starter and had left it on the serving area while we ate our missing starter. The minute steak was cooked ok but not the best quality of meat. The dessert of tarte un pomme was disappointing as the pasty was far from flaky and a bit on the stodgy side. While we were there, three tables complained about their meal so it wasn t just us that thought the quality of the cooking for the price was not up to standard. Not likely to visit again until I see reviews that indicate an improvement in the cooking.
