Birmingham Marriott Review

My experience at the Marriott Grandview was fantastic.Everyone was great but I would like to point out one Special person. Her name is TONYA WILLIAMS and she is one of those hidden GEMS that will go the extra mile to make sure your time at the Marriott is fantastic. Tonya is very personable, helpful, gracious and a wonderful person who knows how to make sure your stay at the Marriott is a fantastic one. I have had the pleasure more than once to deal with Tonya and it is ALWAYS a GREAT experience.

I have stayed at this hotel for 5 solid years, the staff is amazing, the rooms are clean & spacious...the hotel itself would get 5 stars. This review is based solely on the restaurant/ room service. 1st order Turkey BLT: at the face the BLT is fairly simple sandwich so simple I made them as kid...I made better sandwiches as kid. The house chips were old & tasted like grease. Yuck!! 2nd Replacement Harris Ranch Double Cheeseburger with Bibb Lettuce, American Cheese, Onion & Wickle's Pickles. I am pretty sure the replacement sandwich was ordered & possibly sent back by someone else mine had not a stitch of Bibb Lettuce, American Cheese, Onion nor Wickle's Pickles just meat, bread & cheese. From the time I called to complain it less than 12 mins being delivered to my door. Way too fast for freshly made burger plus the fries were luke warm. -- The new menu is mediocre at best the FORMER menu & CHEF were way better. Can someone go locate the former Chef, like seriously GO LOCATE him/her & beg them to return. I will even chip in on the bouquet of flowers. The new room service packaging is nice, let's work on the contents.

Friendly staff and nice facilities--even during renovation. Rooms were clean and had been recently upgraded. 5/7.

Rhw bed sheets were dirty, didn't notice until it was bed time so, I slept on the top. I left the sheets turned back hoping house keeping would replace them the next day and, they didn't. I called the front desk and they sent house keeping to replaced them right away. The bar is nice other than a beer costing an incredible $6.00. Breakfast buffet is ok, nothing to write home about. The eggs were pretty hard.

The room was very nice. Front desk was very polite and helpful. However, I was very upset, when I returned to my room, after going out for dinner, to find an unannounced maintenance employee in my room. After speaking to the manager,Tonya, she assured me that this would be looked into and that someone would be touch with me. We will see!!!!

No receipt for hotel stay. They say they will email your hotel receipt but never received it. Management needs to rethink this emailing a receipt because it just does not work. Had them resend receipt but nothing!

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Hated that breakfast was not included at that price point but otherwise good stay. Enjoyed the fitness center as well

Clean, friendly Marriott. I checked in and was upgraded to a room on the concierge floor (I'm a Marriott Platinum member). Once I got to my room, I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see it must have been very recently updated. I was sort of not looking forward to the old-style Marriott red rooms you see in the hotel's pictures online. This has the new, comtemporary grey-blue theme I've started to see at some of the new courtyards. I'm not sure if all the rooms have been updated or not, but my room on the 8th floor was.

The check-in was painless, and they got me in my room right away. The concierge lounge was excellent, and the attendant was very nice and prompt. The bed in my room is fantastic and seems to be a significant upgrade to the beds at most Marriotts. This is a great property for a business traveler, and I would recommend it.

I attended an event at this hotel, and it was a very good experience. The food was excellent and the interior was well-designed.

The Birmingham Marriott has exceed my expectations. The employees are extremely nice. I would recommend this Marriott to friends when they are visiting the Birmingham Area.

It s 5:45 and I m still waiting on a room, no apology, just waiting. This is rediculous, especially on a weekend, terrible way to welcome guests.

It was nice, modern, and updated. Smart TV's with access to streaming services (Hulu, YouTube, Netflix).

Fabulous staff! Up to date , clean and renovated facility. Easily accessible to many other locations in the city

It's a beautiful hotel..but they charge for everything no complimentary breakfast and the food that they sell is not great but priced high..came in my work clothes and front desk was a little rude until I pulled out my black card

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! The hotel was great and all staff was super! Thank you!

I stayed here for a professional conference. The staff was very firendy and the room was clean with nice upgrades. I especially enjoyed the free internet tv. I did not like the lack of free WiFi, but I only stayed one night so this wasn't a big issue. Would definitely stay here again.

One of my favorite hotels in Birmingham. Definitely my favorite when I don't want to stay downtown. Newly remodeled with great facilities, from the indoor pool to the first floor concierge lounge.

I only went to the bar and didn't stay in a room but Tony Stewart was an incredible and attentive bartender.

Wonderful staff...very friendly and accomodative. The location isn't scenic and won't blow your socks off...but it is conveniently located and a fine place for an overnight stay

The location was nice. I attended a college information session and the atmosphere was pleasant

Rooms are very nice. Gym has what you need. Staff is excellent.

Very nice hotel. The hotel, including my room, was very modern and clean. My only complaint is being able to hear anything from the hallway. If a door closed or if someone was talking, it was surprising loud in my room. Not pleasant, but not a deal breaker for me either. I would stay here again. The only other thing...it would be nice if they offered a decent complementary breakfast. For the amount a room cost, it should be included.

Food was HORRIBLE...will never go back again...everything was HORRIBLE!!!!

Entire floor dedicated to Concierge members for great convenience and hospitality. The pillows were perfect. Lose a star for the tiny spider in my tub. Would stay again.

I recently stayed at this location and it was pretty average nothing too special to rave about. The hotel was nice, with a clean and airy feel as you walked in.

The staff was friendly, polite and very accommodating --I arrived prior to noon and they still found me a room. I did feel the hotel was certainly overpriced compared to similar properties of its category.

The rooms were alright. They were somewhat updated, though it looked like they did a halfway refurbishment on them. Nevertheless, they were clean, and the bedding was very comfortable.

The hotel if a full-service with a full bar, restaurant, fantastic workout facility, pool, great concierge lounge, and small Starbucks inside.

Overall a great experience and I'd likely stay here again when visiting. It's in a great location with a ton of restaurants and shopping very close by.

Great meeting environment during our Financial Seminar

Was in Birmingham on business. Great location with eateries nearby. Bistro is not complementary, but convenient with nice selection. Try the scones! The building is large, with a courtyard/pool in the center. My room was clean and updated. Public areas all seemed well kept as well. If I was visiting in the area, I would use this hotel again.

Hotel has been remodeled, rooms are nice and the gym is sufficient. Shower was clogged and the drain was pretty gross. That s the main reason for 4 stars vs 5.

Our experience at the Birmingham Marriott was pretty good. The shower was pretty weak, but that is about normal at hotels. Other than that, the only other downer was being charged for Wi-Fi. I realize several hotels charge for this, but it still amazes me this is free at McDonalds and cheaper hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, we would stay there again.

Clean hotel, a little dated in the rooms but still maintained well. Decent restaurant, friendly bar tender, quick room service.. Can't ask for much more from a hotel with mostly corporate guests.

My elderly mothers purse was stolen out of her room by the cleaning staff. She left her purse in the room to return with the luggage cart, and her purse was gone. We (the family) came for our family reunion. To our surprise there is no security cameras for survalince in the hallways or on the property from what management explained. We believe it was the cleaning staff! Beware!!! Beware!!! Beware of your surroundings. This experience has been aweful!

The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel decor presents a fresh and clean look and feel. Easy access from the freeway, there's plenty of parking and it's within a 3 minute drive to a very nice shopping and dining outdoor mall.

Nice hotel, with excellent staff. I didn't see rooms, only the conference space, but the customer service was awesome.

The remodel is a huge success. The colors and design are comfortable and inviting. Well done! Great location.

Went here for a meeting for work. The hotel let us rent out a meeting room and the staff was curtious and friendly.

Rooms are recently remodeled and nice. Food and drinks at bar were very good

Friendly service, clean meeting rooms, restrooms, and halls

Food was okay at best. Dessert was amazing. Lots of water stains on the tile ceiling of the ballroom. Staff was kind and on point. Only found two bathrooms in the lobby which got a bit cramped for our large event. Also the bathrooms were out of paper towels which were replaced with thin dinner napkins. Overall a positive experience though.

Great customer service . Love the area. Room was clean and bed was amazing. Definitely will be my go to spot when back in Birmingham.

The hotel provided us with an outstanding lunch during the work event I attended.

I attended a professional event at this location. The meeting room was large, well lit, and they provided a wide variety of refreshments. The staff was helpful and very polite.

Didn't have the type of bed or room I requested. Didn't offer access to M Club to makeup the difference.

It is ok. The concierge lounge isn't as good as what I expect from a full service Marriott. Might as well just stay at the Courtyard across the street for less money.

Rooms could use a little love but overall a nice property

Adding on to my previous review, when we got to the room. There was clothes in the room, DIRTY WASH TOWELS in the bathroom. Tissue was low, bar of soap was opened and used, and the shampoo and conditioner were used too. Nice location, nice room, just horrible maintenance/housekeeping.

We stayed at this hotel after my daughter had a day procedure done. They were so great and accommodating and helpful. That night we had run out to get something to eat and brought it back, as we return the tornado siren started going off which was a little eerie but the staff was calm cool and collected. My daughter was craving a smoothie and we went to the bar and the hotel and although it was not on the menu the sweet bartender went back and hand-cut fruit and made a smoothie for my daughter. I really appreciate it how much they went above and beyond when they didn't have to, when nobody was looking...that's what matters to me.

Updated rooms are fantastic and staff service is always top notch!

Excellent food & service for my nephew's rehearsal dinner.
