Beautiful hotel, with nice rooms. Friendly staff. Room was advertised as a king, but it was barely a queen. We also had asked for the sofa bed to be made when we arrived, but it was not. Overall, good, though.

The stay was fine, however the room which was supposed to be charged to my company was actually charged to my personal credit card(which was only given for incidentals). Since then, my wife has attempted to speak with the manager numerous times to no avail. When I called and spoke to someone at the front desk, she placed me on hold and never returned. I am a bonvoy member who is considering a change.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly. The lobby and public areas were beautifully done, with a cafe style food court and a bar, great location to shopping and restaurants and had convenient parking with valet service available. Downside - the room I received was less than quality. There were holes in the sheets (otherwise, clean - smelled of detergent, no stains or remnants of previous guests; I felt the need to check :-/), the room was not properly stocked with the promised amenities - only decaf coffee with no sugar, no cups, and the fridge barely worked. The room had a stale odor that seemed out of place for the freshly renovated look. The bathroom was gross, had curly black hairs everywhere, smelled of urine with urine on the floor behind the commode and the hairdryer reeked of the same odor when it was powered on, and the shower curtain was mildewed. I cannot praise the counter staff, maintenance, and kitchen staff enough... they were wonderful! I wish I could give 5 stars, but the room itself made it about a 3.5. The cleaning staff, though courteous, I believe, may need better training.

I had an amazing experience here! We stayed here for my brothers conference basketball games. The staff is the friendliest and courteous I have ever met and I love how personable they are. One of the staff helped me carry my stuff and that wasn't even her job but she went out of her way to help me and I really appreciated it. Also, I love how every staff member I passed smile and said hi to me. I really notice these things and was so impressed by the friendly service here. In addition, the hotel room was so nice and clean and the breakfast is amazing. I feel like I am eating 5 star, loved the bacon, so fresh! I would highly recommend this hotel and had a wonderful experience.

The service was poor and very unaccommodating! Booked a room with a king sofa bed and it went through but when we arrived they claimed no more rooms of those were available. When asked to double check the reservation the staff was very rude! Would not recommend staying here!

We only stayed here 1 night passing through to Kentucky but the room was very clean, water pressure was good and the customer service was great! Will definetly be back in the future.

I really hate to post this review, but it popped up on my phone, so here we go. I stayed here for abt 3days during the week of Christmas and had to endure ants with no heat! Didn't ask for another room because we'd already been relocated once due to dirty dishes outside the first one. When we checked out we were told that a manager would contact us - that was 5 days ago, no call yet. We did have a few brite spots though: nice shower, good exercise gym and the food was great - our waitress Nadhire was very attentive. If they fix those few issues, it could be a great place to stay, but if not, you'll probably be more comfortable somewhere else.

Haven't stayed here since the renovation. Pluses: Nice lobby, Cool 'M' lounge with 24/7 access. Negatives: Beds are not up to Marriott standards. A King mattress on a box? (not box-springs mind you, a wooden box). We both ached every morning, and felt every movement at night. Like sleeping in a bouncy castle. Service was adequate. However, the 4 days we were there we saw the same glasses outside 2 rooms, never picked up. Reported the Ice machine not working on our floor the first day, 2nd day, 3rd day. Still inop on our checkout. Unless desperate we won't stay here again.

Our favorite Marriott property in Birmingham! Excellent service from a knowledgeable staff. They also shuttle to local restaurants and provide information on places to eat and shop. Fantastic accommodations!

Beautiful place. Great seating in the lobby. The bar was fantastic with a fantastic selection, and the bartenders were actual bartenders, not just "top poppers". Also a beautiful banquet hall for any party you could imagine.

I've traveled into Birmingham for work for a few years now, and I have to give credit to the hotel because they've made great strides with the renovations.

The newly renovated rooms are modern and up to speed with the new Marriott properties. The beds are comfortable and firm, but the pillows suck and are way too soft to sleep comfortably.

The hotel is located right off of 280 which is the main drag to many restaurants, shopping, and local gyms. The hotel restaurant is slightly overpriced but the menu is good.

Overall, a great stay and Andrea at the front desk is awesome.

Everything was good. The initial receptionist was a bit curt, but everyone else was lovely. Rooms were very nice, however, the door for the bathroom was the most stupid design I've ever seen. It slides instead of swings, and it's loud, cumbersome, and annoying. Other than that, it was a lovely stay

The hotel is very nice and I think a good deal considering the price. My only complaint is that when the guestrooms are cleaned they pile towels down the hall in front of each room. It makes getting to your room very interesting.

A nice respit along our way. The pool was fairly large and the kids loved it! This is a larger hotel with small convention center and close access to many great restaurants. The staff was helpful with recommendations for kid friendly dining nearby (We ended up at Cheesecake Factory)

Rooms are big and very accommodating. The beds are comfy. Exceptionally quiet. Great for a good nights sleep in comfort. The breakfast buffet is a little priceybut worth it. Friendly service and the food was GREAT! Real eggs and great bacon and sausage. Fresh fruit including strawberries and blackberries. Nothing negative here.

Atmosphere-wise, this place looks great. However, it is lacking in other amenities that you'll find at other hotels (free breakfast, Internet, etc).
On the value scale it is not great, IMHO.

I just called to book a room and asked if there was a way to look up my Marriott rewards number, I provided my information and the representative was rude and short, I asked if she would transfer me to speak with someone else and she hung up the phone. I'm sadden that customer service was so poor, needless to say I will not be staying there.

The Hotel had let a College Football team have a late check-out on a day they were clearly fully booked. There were limited resources at 4pm to clean all the rooms vacated by the football team so my group booking of 20+ and untold other guests were unable to check in until after 7pm. This was poor management of the situation and could have been avoided in several ways. To increase my frustration it took over 3 weeks to post my rewards from the group booking and I am still chasing them down to post my stay to my account. The only positive from this was Taylor in the Sales team who has communicated throughout but has been let down by the rest of the teams poor communication and management of an avoidable situation.

We were there for conference only and no stay, but the facilities and grounds are well kept and its location, directly off of one of the main arteries in Alabama, make this the prime hotel destination.

Excellent service EXCEPT the bartender ruined my stay. She was a miserable woman. She had no personality, manners, and acted as if we weren't welcome at the bar. She even closed early having my group of 5 leave the bar area. I'm a gold member and have never been treated so coldly at a Marriott.

Very good overall. Rooms were clean, relatively spacious, and comfortable. Bathroom was good as well, though our room did not feature a lockable door, only a sliding blurred glass panel. Shower water pressure and temperature were both great as well. I cannot attest for other services I haven't used.

I stayed at this hotel 12 years ago. I was treated with respect and enjoyed the rooms. I have never stayed in a better place. I hope you have the opportunity to stay and enjoy this wonderful hotel as I did. I hope I get the opportunity to stay at this hotel the next time I am in Alabama.

Upon arriving at the hotel we found the outdoor grounds well kept with a nice balance of colorful flowers and greenery. We were welcomed at the door by bellman who was quite accommodating. The desk agent was extremely nice in our check in process and precheck in on the Marriott application makes the process faster because they know when you will be there. We were given our touch keys and room numbers. We found the newly remodeled floors very inviting and quiet. The carpet was padded and was easy on our feet. Upon arriving at our room we found a new remodeled room with a nice balance of non carpeted floor and carpeting. The open closet concept was nice and incoporated a mini fridge and mini coffee maker with coffee butler. The extra large flat screen with the incorporated internet apps for Hulu Netflix and Youtube was nice and any passwords put in would automatically be cleared after checkout or you could do it manually. The new beds were nice but not our favorite because we sleep on spring free matteress. In the morning we dined in the restaurant downstairs and the selection of food and service was very nice.Checking out was effortless. We will be back in the future. The upgrades and service is great after being on a busy highway all day.

This is a beautiful hotel. The bed was an incredibly plush pillowtop. Unfortunately there are two unforgivable drawbacks: no FREE wifi, and no refrigerator in the room despite having a space for it. I'd give it 5 stars easy except these two flaws were a real inconvenience for me on this occasion.
