It has many birds from Africa, Asia and Australasia; I'd like to have seen a good range from the Americas. The information about each type of bird was good. The birds' enclosures enabled me to easily view them, but I feel some of the birds could benefit from bigger and more stimulating environments. I'd allow three hours to see all the animal exhibits, not including lunch. I think it is an excellent place to take a class for an educational visit, provided the students are given worksheets that provide them with a structure.

It's a great place for a family treat albeit a little expensive. We had a fabulous time and found shelter to eat our sandwiches out of the rain. Food on site is excellent if you can afford it. Lots of play areas and seating. Penguins being fed is a must see! I love the peacocks and always buy a tail feather. Easy to find toilet areas. Worth a visit anytime of year.

ok

What a wonderful place to visit, I went there in January 2020 and it was great, very friendly people, plenty to see and it was just a nice way to spend 2 hours, it's great for kids, so much to see I'm sure they will enjoy it.

Great place for the kids. They have an impressive variety of animals for the size of the place. Their animals range from birds of different species to farm animals (including reindeers and rabbits) and even a good variety of fish species.

The entrance tickets are affordable and the snack prices are decent as well. You can grab a sandwich or a drink inside and it's not a massive hole in the budget.

Plenty to look at. The bird encounter was fantastic. Would have been nice for the small animal encounter to have been more educational for children but able to hold mice and see guinea pigs and Rabbits up close

We took the family along to visit Father Christmas & it was absolutely incredible.!
Everything ran so smooth, the staff were all amazing, the kids loved seeing Santa & waking up the penguin.
We then went around Birdworld which was included in the price & it was great. Also after we got a free mince pie & mulled punch, which was a lovely touch.
The whole Place was so clean & tidy.
I would highly recommend Birdworld.!

Overall not good value for money. Very dated, unkept and dirty. Poor design and a mish-mash of attractions. Even today, a lovely sunny afternoon, the atmosphere was creepy [and no, it's not because it's Halloween] and flat. I had to laugh out loud when I'd spotted a folk-lift truck (without the forks) doubling-up as a ride-on ghost train with tacky [badly put-together] Halloween themed decorations! Having said all of this, young children wouldn't be so critical and would thoroughly enjoy their day out here. The parrots are adorable, great fun and made my day :)

Gorgeous grounds to walk around with beautiful birds in really super enclosures spoilit by what appeared in the main to be poorly informed and disinterested staff largely doing scripted presentations. Worst of all was the catering facilities which are simply awlful in every way particularly the staff who were exceptionally poor I was left with the impression that this was a place superbly conceived with an operational management problem.

We had an enjoyable day. A lovely place to visit that hasn't succumbed to the big rides and moneymaking things that some zoos etc have done in recent years It does exactly what it says on the tin. Only criticism would be the portion size of my soup in cafe, which was a half filled small bowl and a tiny roll and I mean tiny. Not worth the price paid. Come on cafe boss, be fare to people. However, friendly staff and the cafe was clean and pleasant.

Lovely! But a bit dated if you are actually interested in birds great place to be, train ride had a massive que and was a bit rubbish, one lady actually fell asleep while on it the water world bit was not good, all tanks too high for kids to see and fronts are scratch mold in tanks. No play area for little ones more older kids, all staff were great and really try, food was good and reasonable priced for this kind of place. I remember coming as a child and loving it! Can't help but feel we are a lot more split for choice these days and they need to up their game

Had a lovely day at Birdworld. My children are 1 and 3 and both had a great time. The best bit being the petting of the mice, which went down a treat! Lots of play areas and plenty of variety to keep them interested. A bit less so for my 1 year old, but I'll definitely go back here sometime.

Clean, and totally delightful and safe. How well they have looked after the birds and gardens.

We took others advice and when next door to the garden centre for lunch.

Otherwise I would have taken a packed lunch.

This is a great day out with the kid's. Lot of different bird species to see you get a chance to pet some animals which the kid's loved and there is a train ride to take you around part of the park. There is a Bird of prey show and also a penguin feedings. Definitely a day to remember. Would highly recommend this place to spend a day here.

A perfect day out with the family. A small and convenient cafe on sight with ice cream! You ll have many hours of fun seeing many animals. There are plaques with information stating where the animals are from and what their habitats are. The staff are helpful although they are busy doing their job. There is also a small pig farm with sheep, goats etc. So don t just think it s only birds that are there as you ll be wrong.

Took my grandsons there Easter Saturday , very disappointed, needs upgrading, hasn t changed since opened, looks dull , bit of paint wouldn t go amiss, needs some one to bring it up to date, birds a mostly the same breed. No staff around really. Enjoyed the bird display . Sad to see it like it and sea world it s as though no one is bothered !!

As a disabled person I found the majority of the park accessible but some of the walkways (i.e.the one into the penguin enclosure) was narrow amd required two people to open several of the double doors to allow me access with my wheelchair. The park is beautifully landscaped and very clean. The prices for food and snacks were reasonable i thought. Jenny Wrens Farm is not really suitable for disabled people as the walkways & footpaths were stone and gravel The nearby toilets were definately not suitabke for the disabled, being portocabins. The most disapointing aspect of the visit was the underwater world exhibits. The path through the various tanks was very narrow and some chairs had been placed on the path. My carer had to phsyically lift these out of the way so I could get through! I you are expecting Seaquariums you will be very disappointed with this. The park itself. and the birds are fabulous though and some of the birds are extremely sociable and will interact with you which is very entertaining and amusing. This all contributes gretly to the overall experience. Plenty of seating around the park, coffee, icecream and snacks being readily available along the way. The cockatoos must be seen - its a must! If you spend time chatting to the they will say hello to you and show off for you!

Summing up I would say (if you a a wheelchair user) spend your time in the park and give the underwater world part a miss! A lovely day out, weather permitting.

An enjoyable afternoon out, lots of birds to see, an aquarium and farm too. Opportunities to watch the penguins being fed and a bird of prey show. Gift shop is crammed full of things to buy. Big car park, with over flow, which is free. Friendly and helpful staff.

It is An amazing place to go, I would recommend this to anyone who loves birds and has children, there was birds from all over the world, dinosaur adventures, play areas and much more.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a day out with the children and to everyone who loves birds

Wonderful place! The family spent the whole day here and we're planning on going back in the half term.
As well as lots of amazing displays there were lots of things to keep the children busy, face painting, animal shows and feeds and bird of prey displays to name a few.
All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful and the cafe sells a good range of food. The pick and mix lunch bags for children were particularly good.
Wide flat paths make it easy for buggies and wheelchair users.
Can't wait to go back!

Really lovely venue, kids enjoyed it loads even when the rain came down it never dampened their spirits. The birds are so clever responding to the trainers words and actions. The place is very well looked after and very clean. Will be visiting again in the future.

Great seeing all the different types of birds, especially in the larger aviaries where they could fly properly. Some were too small for the size of bird, and a few of the birds looked decidedly depressed. However, I know very little about birds, so this could be normal behaviour.
Underwater World, which is next door and included in the ticket price, is not extensive but very well done.

Nice little place to take the kids. Lots of birds and a little farm that you can walk around. The aquarium is now permanently closed and a lot of areas are not open (most indoor exhibits).
But lovely to be able to get close to some of the birds in the walk through exhibits.

Just been again - it's just reopened after shutting for the COVID19 crisis... Staff were very helpful and lots of thought had been put into how to keep everyone safe whilst still opening as much as they can right now. Certainly recommend it!

It's improved a great deal since we went four years ago. There's more enclosures and it all seems well kept. The aquarium part however clearly gets no funding and is in desperate need of renovation. Overall a good day out

The reason for the three stars is the condition of the place especially the underwater world part, the tanks look like they haven't been cleaned for years, there was at least one or two where you could hardly see the fish as the glass was so dirty, bird world itself seems to be a little better but not great, the penguins water was dirty and you couldn't see very well through the glass when they were underwater, all the birds seemed to be in good condition and the children really enjoyed the day which is what matters, I am comparing bird world with places like marwell which seems spotless so maybe that's wrong of me. Its not a cheap day out and unless you watch all the shows you could get round the whole place in half a day including the farm and underwater world.

Good fun place to spend the day. Many species to see, can feed the birds with mealworm bought from the shop. Couple of nice playgrounds for kids. Also nice petting farm at the back. Worth the entry fee. Aquarium visit thrown in for free.
