One of the best visits to see Santa with the grandchildren ever. Would highly recommend as a family day out for all
One of the best visits to see Santa with the grandchildren ever. Would highly recommend as a family day out for all
We went on a cold frozen day. Great place but much of it disappointingly closed up
Great day out for the family. Highly recommend this place. Also has and aquatic part aswell.
We loved Birdworld. Perfect day out for the whole family. Some really beautiful birds there. Loved the owls in particular. The playgrounds are great for kids, and the whole park is arranged nicely with flowers and other plants. Enough toilets around the place too, and parking is easy. Staff is friendly and even the gift shop is nice! Would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our visit to birdworld and we make it come back again to see the birds
Nice place, good environment for the animals. Staff not so good and uncomunicative
So much to look at, it was well kept and they had a lovely little cafe.
Briliant place for the whole family to enjoy a great day out.
Overall very well kept. Quite bumpy for wheelchair users. Daughter was upset about closed play area. Advise bringing a packed lunch. Enclosures looked well maintained and birds appeared in good condition. Enjoyed the outing here.
26 acres of all types of Birds, great day out for the family
Great place to visit. Good value for money had a great day out.
A wonderful place I had a really good day out visit the place again if I got the chance so many different birds to see and I love watching the penguins being fed spent a good few hours there
Good fun! Well if you like birds. Surprisingly a lot to see and also has underwater world on the same premises along with a small, working farm.
We went to see Santa here with our 3 yo and it was very creative. Staff were friendly too.
The level of care for the birds appears to be outstanding.
Sorry, we did visit on a rainy day and out of season. A treat for our grandson aged three. He got bored very quickly, there was no additional activities except for a play area similar those available in a local park. The enclosures are showing their age and there was very little information about the contain bird. The Halloween display was of poor quality along with the food. A disappointing day for the grandparents to entertain the grandchild.
Still a good day out but seriously needs a tidy up and needs a food offering on site.
Went today with the family especially for the Winter Wonderland Displays amazing well set up for the little ones. Big shame was a disappointing Father Christmas Spoke to the adults not the child and could have done with a better costume. Wig was nylon and he used his own beard which was small grey
Went to garden centre next to it but went in the summer but not ask good as it was
A great day out with children plenty to see and do good value for money
Good, visited out of season no refreshments available enjoyed the different varieties of birds to see nice hour to spend
Really sad to see such lack of space and care for animals. I'm not sure how it's still open!
The Jenny Wren farm allows the chickens to run freely, however no staff around at all, and saw three ping boys terrorising and kicking an animal. Aldi trying to steal small animals from the unmanned pet shop. When we eventually found a staff member, they did not acknowledge our worries for the welfare of the animals, as they were running late for their animal encounter!
Reindeers also pacing in their extremely small enclosure.
Just so so sad. If you enjoying seeing animals then please don't visit.
Fantastic array of birds and sea life. Plenty of things for the kids to see. Spooked the grandaugher when a spoke her
Nice relaxing experience for adults. Fun areas for kids.
Nice. Free parking with disabled exes to everywhere including toilets. Carers goes free. Plenty to see. Restaurant is accessible without paying entrance fee.
Most enjoyable and the added bonus of a beautiful summer's day
Very nice place :) clean, tidy, good for family trip :)
Fabulous place to spend a day with kids, lots to see and do.
Excellent day out for both children and grandparents alike
Lovely experience. Children ages 6, 10 and 12 enjoyed it as much as their parents.
Disabled friendly. Accepted GP letter stating that mads needs 2-1, thnx
There is no doubt that this place houses a large and impressive variety of birds from all over the world and it claims to make a contribution to preserving some species that are threatened. HOWEVER, many of the birds are confined to spaces that are (in my and the oppinion of others) too small to be acceptable in these more enlightened times.
In this regard, it seems Bird World has not kept pace with more open space developments in animal welfare as most zoos and other wildlife centres have done and it was distressing at times to see large birds trying to fly with far too little room to do so without crashing into the roof or sides of their enclosure.
For this reason, I would certainly not be happy to visit again, despite the very interesting array of birds on show
Great day out got to feed the penguins lovely food in the restaurant lot's to do for your money
Great place for all the family. Lots of things to see and do and will be great for many more years with the kids
Lovely day out got to see lots of birds ! Can belong queues to use the toilets.
Excellent, well organised Covid precautions. Plenty of shade on this hot day. Staff as courteous and helpful as ever.
I visited with my friend who has a learning disability on Tuesday. The staff were all very helpful and keen to assist as much as possible. It was very quiet which was great for us but probably not providing Birdworld with the income they need. I noticed that most of the children's play areas were closed and there was a feel of not being able to provide the usual attractions, the sparkle wad missing. We enjoyed our time there and the birds were amazing. The accessible toilet facilities were clean and gpod for people who have less profound disabilities, no changing bed. Toilet on a plinth, no support bars or rails.
Really enjoyed our visit yesterday. Very well organised considering the current restrictions. A great place to take little ones with lots of viewing areas and several displays available. Quite inexpensive too.
Really good place for a day trip if you're interested in the birds. A morning or afternoon if you just want to wander around. Three generations of us went as a day trip and we all loved it. Food is good too.
Nice place, never been before. During this current time, it would have been good to have a downloadable map of the park instead of having to take a photo of a map on a board, it would make things so much easier and you would have been able to plan your visit beforehand
It was nice out there. I came back after few years. Few changes there. I will visit them again.
The park itself is just ok, not fantastic when you consider the price tag. Overall the place needs updating, that said it was clean. Underwater world was very dissapointing. The restaurant was by far the worst part, even my children complained about the meal. Wont be going back in a hurry thats for sure.
1 of my fave places to visit. With or without the kids. Although the aquarium isn't so good. It's amazing to see that they're starting to pump some money into it.
It has birds and other wildlife, what more could you possibly need?
Amazing place and an excellent day out. Only down side is that there are no ubers or buses so very difficult to get there without a car!
A lovely, simple day out for the family... lots of interesting facts to learn. Plus the farm and underwater world. Very good value for money... would totally recommend but pack wellies if it's been raining!
Very cool day out but rain made all the birds a bit sad.
Not such a good place to go to when the weather is cold and if you have a young child. They didn't even turn on the heating in the expensive restaurant. Good place for a picnic on a warm sunny day.
We love going to Birdworld and seeing all the different birds, the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is excellent and so is the food, the walk around the whole site is beautiful and all the birds are well cared for. Sue Davies
It was a nice clean well cared for place and well worth a second visit. Thank you for a pleasant day.
Not at all what we was expecting really. Shame kids was excited. Just not enough there for a day out. 2 hours with lunch maybe 3 if you dragged it out.
3.5 stars is probably more accurate, but Bird World is definitely full of birds and has lots to entertain kids so it's a good place to spend several hours. The ticket also includes access to Underwater World which is a small but decent little aquarium next door. There are some signs of new exhibits and a couple of new play areas, but in general the whole place is a little bit tired and seems lacking in investment. That doesn't mean there's not lots to see, but if you visited in the 90's don't expect much to be different.
I had hoped for some bigger cages for the birds and in the end, despite their links with conservation, I wasn't sure about keeping such large and exotic birds in relatively small places.
I think there's lots of potential to improve facilities for both people and birds, but at the moment it remains an interesting day out suited mostly for younger children.
Birdworld is a family friendly, great day out whether its rain or shine! There's a variety of different birds which you can observe, as well as different displays and talks throughout the day to interest all, such as the pelican feed, outdoor flying display and penguin feed. They also have an aquatic world and farm, where you can get hands on with a variety of animals. For an extra price, you could also get a bird world birthday party, which I found to be a pleasurable experience, with provided food and even a chance to feed the penguins if you so wish. On their website is a list of all encounters they do, such as the owl encounter which is thoroughly enjoyable! I would really recommend a visit, they have wheelchair access, as well as a cafe. Don't forget to bring your spare change to buy some mealworms to feed the birds as you walk round!
It looks a bit dated. But a nice enough place for a day with the kids
Had a really great day doing the Keeper Experience, staff were very knowledgeable..
Great for my grandchildren a little overpriced. Look out for money off voucher before you go.
love this place and so do the kids! great day out with plenty to see and do, a must if your around farnham area
We were having a lovely day until my 9yr old was served a hot chocolate 3 times hotter than ours and burned her mouth, chin and hand - received no first aid help.
Entertaining and informative but needs a little tlc and could be a little cleaner.
Really good for kids best to bring a picnic if you want to save abit of money as prices for drinks is pretty expensive but you get the same where ever you go.
Great day out, very reasonably priced and better than we expected it would be. But very weather dependent so pick a nice hot day.
Our son loved it with so much to see around the place is really nice.
Nice Zoo, clean and tidy. However staff are clearly in the "don't care phase" the member of staff looking after the fish was so engrossed in her book, we walked past without even showing her our tickets!
Its a fun place for kids and adults to wonder around the farm area is super cute. My son had a blast chasing chickens around and sitting in the tractor
Great little place -- basically a zoo for birds. It seems to be somewhat understaffed. Some of the penguin enclosures seemed overcrowded and could probably do with a bit more attention. Otherwise it was a great experience.
It's small doesn't look they have a lot of varieties. Not many staff members at hand. Toilets etc were generally clean. Not many activities for children.
On the plus side, staff however difficult to find were cordial. Place comes across as cozy. Bird feeding opportunities.
You could be done and dusted with three hours or so for the main attraction and in 15 minutes for underwater world attraction.
We need to be supporting places like these as it was very evident from the 2ay place was run that this is an underfunded facility. The place is designed in such a way that it keeps on reminding you to buy souvenirs etc.
