We loved Birdworld. Perfect day out for the whole family. Some really beautiful birds there. Loved the owls in particular. The playgrounds are great for kids, and the whole park is arranged nicely with flowers and other plants. Enough toilets around the place too, and parking is easy. Staff is friendly and even the gift shop is nice! Would definitely recommend.

Overall very well kept. Quite bumpy for wheelchair users. Daughter was upset about closed play area. Advise bringing a packed lunch. Enclosures looked well maintained and birds appeared in good condition. Enjoyed the outing here.

A wonderful place I had a really good day out visit the place again if I got the chance so many different birds to see and I love watching the penguins being fed spent a good few hours there

Sorry, we did visit on a rainy day and out of season. A treat for our grandson aged three. He got bored very quickly, there was no additional activities except for a play area similar those available in a local park. The enclosures are showing their age and there was very little information about the contain bird. The Halloween display was of poor quality along with the food. A disappointing day for the grandparents to entertain the grandchild.

Went today with the family especially for the Winter Wonderland Displays amazing well set up for the little ones. Big shame was a disappointing Father Christmas Spoke to the adults not the child and could have done with a better costume. Wig was nylon and he used his own beard which was small grey

Really sad to see such lack of space and care for animals. I'm not sure how it's still open!
The Jenny Wren farm allows the chickens to run freely, however no staff around at all, and saw three ping boys terrorising and kicking an animal. Aldi trying to steal small animals from the unmanned pet shop. When we eventually found a staff member, they did not acknowledge our worries for the welfare of the animals, as they were running late for their animal encounter!
Reindeers also pacing in their extremely small enclosure.
Just so so sad. If you enjoying seeing animals then please don't visit.

There is no doubt that this place houses a large and impressive variety of birds from all over the world and it claims to make a contribution to preserving some species that are threatened. HOWEVER, many of the birds are confined to spaces that are (in my and the oppinion of others) too small to be acceptable in these more enlightened times.
In this regard, it seems Bird World has not kept pace with more open space developments in animal welfare as most zoos and other wildlife centres have done and it was distressing at times to see large birds trying to fly with far too little room to do so without crashing into the roof or sides of their enclosure.
For this reason, I would certainly not be happy to visit again, despite the very interesting array of birds on show

I visited with my friend who has a learning disability on Tuesday. The staff were all very helpful and keen to assist as much as possible. It was very quiet which was great for us but probably not providing Birdworld with the income they need. I noticed that most of the children's play areas were closed and there was a feel of not being able to provide the usual attractions, the sparkle wad missing. We enjoyed our time there and the birds were amazing. The accessible toilet facilities were clean and gpod for people who have less profound disabilities, no changing bed. Toilet on a plinth, no support bars or rails.

Really enjoyed our visit yesterday. Very well organised considering the current restrictions. A great place to take little ones with lots of viewing areas and several displays available. Quite inexpensive too.

Lovely

Really good place for a day trip if you're interested in the birds. A morning or afternoon if you just want to wander around. Three generations of us went as a day trip and we all loved it. Food is good too.

Nice place, never been before. During this current time, it would have been good to have a downloadable map of the park instead of having to take a photo of a map on a board, it would make things so much easier and you would have been able to plan your visit beforehand

The park itself is just ok, not fantastic when you consider the price tag. Overall the place needs updating, that said it was clean. Underwater world was very dissapointing. The restaurant was by far the worst part, even my children complained about the meal. Wont be going back in a hurry thats for sure.

A lovely, simple day out for the family... lots of interesting facts to learn. Plus the farm and underwater world. Very good value for money... would totally recommend but pack wellies if it's been raining!

Not such a good place to go to when the weather is cold and if you have a young child. They didn't even turn on the heating in the expensive restaurant. Good place for a picnic on a warm sunny day.

We love going to Birdworld and seeing all the different birds, the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is excellent and so is the food, the walk around the whole site is beautiful and all the birds are well cared for. Sue Davies

3.5 stars is probably more accurate, but Bird World is definitely full of birds and has lots to entertain kids so it's a good place to spend several hours. The ticket also includes access to Underwater World which is a small but decent little aquarium next door. There are some signs of new exhibits and a couple of new play areas, but in general the whole place is a little bit tired and seems lacking in investment. That doesn't mean there's not lots to see, but if you visited in the 90's don't expect much to be different.
I had hoped for some bigger cages for the birds and in the end, despite their links with conservation, I wasn't sure about keeping such large and exotic birds in relatively small places.
I think there's lots of potential to improve facilities for both people and birds, but at the moment it remains an interesting day out suited mostly for younger children.

Birdworld is a family friendly, great day out whether its rain or shine! There's a variety of different birds which you can observe, as well as different displays and talks throughout the day to interest all, such as the pelican feed, outdoor flying display and penguin feed. They also have an aquatic world and farm, where you can get hands on with a variety of animals. For an extra price, you could also get a bird world birthday party, which I found to be a pleasurable experience, with provided food and even a chance to feed the penguins if you so wish. On their website is a list of all encounters they do, such as the owl encounter which is thoroughly enjoyable! I would really recommend a visit, they have wheelchair access, as well as a cafe. Don't forget to bring your spare change to buy some mealworms to feed the birds as you walk round!

Nice Zoo, clean and tidy. However staff are clearly in the "don't care phase" the member of staff looking after the fish was so engrossed in her book, we walked past without even showing her our tickets!

Great little place -- basically a zoo for birds. It seems to be somewhat understaffed. Some of the penguin enclosures seemed overcrowded and could probably do with a bit more attention. Otherwise it was a great experience.

It's small doesn't look they have a lot of varieties. Not many staff members at hand. Toilets etc were generally clean. Not many activities for children.

On the plus side, staff however difficult to find were cordial. Place comes across as cozy. Bird feeding opportunities.

You could be done and dusted with three hours or so for the main attraction and in 15 minutes for underwater world attraction.

We need to be supporting places like these as it was very evident from the 2ay place was run that this is an underfunded facility. The place is designed in such a way that it keeps on reminding you to buy souvenirs etc.
