very clean place and nice staff. short distance to sovereign hill. nice place for stay and relax.

En-suite site very small. Park is neat and tidy. Although we found the staff to be quite unfriendly. Check in was scripted and the guy showing us to our site looked and acted bored. After travelling and staying in parks for weeks this one was definitely the most unfriendly one we have stayed.

We had a caravan...great location..so clean and friendly..we have 4 kids..they just loved all the playgrounds and the pool..this place is fantastic with really nice staff..also the little touches like the herb garden for visitors to use and personally take you to your site..close to all the attractions as well.

A great little caravan park in a great location. The heated amenities were a hit and although we didn't have kids, it would be a great place for a family with the indoor play area. Would definitely recommend.

Loved it here. Everything was so well kept and maintained beautifully, they really make you feel at home. Even had one of the amazing staff help us reverse our trailer into a tight spot. Gave us some great tips and things to take note of when you go camping. We will be back again and again. Thank you

I had the pleasure of staying at Big4 Ballarat Goldfields with 2 other families. We were thrilled with our villas which were a perfect size for all of us. They felt very homely. We didn't get to use the facilities as the main purpose of our visit was Sovereign Hill but we were very impressed with the pool, spa, playground, jumping pillow and activities for kids during the school holidays. So much so, we would definitely consider going back in the warmer months. This was a perfect location to get to Sovereign Hill with only a short walk - perfect for little legs! Thank you BIG4 Balllarat Goldfields. We loved it!

Even more stars not enough! Kids catered for, large and small. Camp kitchen! More like home! All day movies and activities for kids. Room set up for preschoolers near a terrific playground. Walk to attractions, restaurants, bottleshop and laundromat. Even a massage shop. Laundromat nit necessary as laundry on site. Well equiped, not expensive, large and clean. Office sells essentials but wil lend you pegs as well. Trikes to use. The bathrooms are spotless. Hairdryer too. Shower curtains. Mop to use after. No paper strewn around toilets. Yet still no key required! I could live there. Even with children around it was quiet. So friendly, all the staff.

Great location. Had a newer cabin which was great. No towels in one of the 3 rooms. Annoying to have only one key between 3 single mum families.

Friendly park, will stay there again when working in the area

We stayed recently with our 5 children. We were warmly welcomed and after a long day on the road it was a welcomed relief that we were personally shown to our site by the manager rather than trying to navigate a place we had never been. The facilities were amazing especially for young families with a bathroom with smaller toilet and a bath. The heated bathroom facilities were amazing especially for the early morning toilet trip and when getting dressed after a shower. Jumping pillow and playground was great for the kids and the indoor play area is great for the little ones. Kids were easily supervised on the equipment from the BBQs so they weren't under feet whilst cooking. There is a games room and TV room the kids loved. We took advantage of the privately booked spa area which was fantastic.The staff were amazing and would stop and chat as they were moving around the park and seemed to really care about how your day was and their local knowledge was great (even down where to get the best hot chips!!) Our camper trailer needed some attention due to some strong winds during the day and the manager just took care of it and let us know after we returned that afternoon. Cant recommend this park highly enough. We will definately return.

What a lovely caravan park, and so close to Sovereign Hill. Friendly staff when booking in, Facilities immaculately clean, (shower block/ outdoor bbqs/camp kitchen) all of which we used. Fantastic playground and massive jumping pillow that kept our 7yo granddaughter entertained. Too cold to use the pool/spa. Would definately use this park again if in the area. Highly recommended.

Top marks for the team at Big 4 Ballarat Goldfields.

It has the usual facilities for a Big 4 (cabins, jumping pillow, pool etc) and a few added extras including kids club with movies and pedal cars for hire. All facilities were in good condition, the pool in particular was great and heavily used during our stay.

Accommodation was as-expected for a Big 4 cabin, clean and cosy. Location is very handy for Sovereign Hill and is close to town.

Where the team really excelled was in their response to our air conditioner not working after a string of hot days. After checking the problem, we were immediately moved to another (upgrade) cabin with absolutely no fuss. Great customer service, well done guys!

Nice holiday park. I would rate the one in Shepparton more than this one. But if you re targeting Sovereign Hill, definitely your go to place.

The park and the staff were great, the cabin I stayed in was cheap but had a lot of ants in it. The neighbour outside of the park was very noisy and we got next to no sleep, therefore cutting the duration short. :) Very cold in Ballarat, but worth it, very nice place to visit :)

We chose this place because of it's proximity to Sovereign Hill and it was perfect for our needs. Nice and close to the attraction and certainly well within walking distance. We spent 5 nights on an ensuite site and the amenities were rather nice, I would certainly return to this park if returning to Ballarat in the future.

The site itself was on the short side for our 17.5ft van (7.6m from tow ball to the end of the bike rack), but the park management had told us that they thought it would 'just fit' prior to booking and upon arrival it just did. That said, management were extremely helpful and were willing to offer other options had we not been able to fit our van on the site, which they didn't have to do. My only negative comment was that during peek times getting into and out of the spaces could be tricky as the access roads were a little narrow.

My 4 year old loved the indoor playground and they both spent a lot of time on the jumping pillow and riding their scooters around the park. The camp kitchen was clean and tidy every time we visited it and the visitor facilities appeared were well maintained.

Very accommodating and welcoming staff, excellent facilities especially for kids (large playground, under 5s indoor play area, jumping pillow, movie room, TV room, games room and hire of pedal bikes). There's an indoor heated spa for hire in addition to the large outdoor swimming pool. 300m from sovereign hill and close to cbd. Powered and unpowered sites have nice lush grass as well which is great for swags and small children.

Large spacious grounds with well maintained facilities and friendly and experienced staffs. We stayed at their Powered-sites from 14-16th.May,2019.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be accommodated longer than the time we had originally booked [due to another place in Ballarat not booked properly by ?], and the young lady made our extra booking available, in the same cabin for the extra days, which was very nice of her to do so.The cabin was lovely and warm, even when temperatures went below 0 a few nights.The cabin was/is very spacious and very homely.Thank you to all the staff at the park [including 1 of the cleaning ladies who cleaned the room next to the laundry so we could wait in there], where it was also nice and warm, while we waited for our washing to finish.

We were extremely happy staying at this park. Staff helpful and happy to switch sites for us due to camper upgrade. Amenities/camp kitchen/laundry are clean and in close proximity to camping areas. Park is compact and close to Sovereign Hill/Gold museum. Would highly recommend this park to friends and family.

My wife & I enjoyed our stay although it was very cold but our cabin was warm & cosy,very clean,well presented.Definately recommend as a place to stay.Oh yes,the staff were nice too! We will be back again.Thanks. 10/10

Big 4 Goldfields is the best place to stay in Ballarat. Cabins are extremely clean. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way, to make sure your stay is a a holiday to remember for a long time. Always has been for me and i have been going back there for the past 6 years. Very child friendly. Thanks again Big 4 Goldfields Caravan park. You are the best.

Absolutely brilliant! Stayed a week, staff are friendly, the can park also housed us for our national gathering of a 100 people, let the lions club cook breakfast here for us as well, rooms are comfy and affordable, also they are motorcycle friendly. Big thumbs up!

Kids loved it. A shame we could only stay one night.

Great location and walking distance to Sovereign Hill.

Our first 'Big 4 experience' and we loved it. The place was so clean and had great facilities. Staff friendly and super helpful. You have set a high standard for the other Big 4 parks to live up to Ballarat Goldfields! Our kids asked when we can come back as soon as we left!

Very well laid out caravan park, staff very helpful and go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. Park is only 300m from Sovereign Hill village where gold was discovered. Worthwhile visit as well as gold museum

So tight for caravans and ensuite bathroom is not worth the extra

Cabins have all u need staff r awesome well laid out room for kids on their bikes etc amenities r very good and cleaned regularly i would return n stay to see more touristy stuff definitely

We always love our stays at The BIG4 Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park. The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The park is so clean and the amenities are heated. Bonus! We visit family and friends and attend appointments. The Park is so close to central Ballarat and tourist attractions, eg. Sovereign Hill, The Gold Museum, The Wildlife Park, etc. Not to mention great eateries and entertainment. Looking forward to our next stay.

The best park we were in (out of 7). The showers are hitted!! The kids love the jumping pillow (and so did we). 10 minuns walk from Suvering hill. Excellent restaurants all around. Just Perfect

We arranged for a family reunion in Ballarat and decided to get all the family to stay at the park, we were given the function room to use, and was perfect for our needs, also the accommodation and amenities in the park were fantastic. All of the staff were very accommodating, friendly and so helpful, thank you for a great weekend :)

Absolutely amazing people working at BIG4 in Ballarat! Our car overheated on the way to SA and we were stuck in Ballarat wondering what to do next....they welcomed me and my girlfriend with open arms making sure we were okay and even put us on to a mechanic who turned out to be awesome as well! Very highly recommend the staff and facilities at BIG4 Ballarat :-) thank you for looking out for us!

It was absolutely fantastic. Everybody was extremely nice. We went to a big 4 in shepparton on a 40 degree day and the aircon kept the whole cabin exremely cold. Well done big 4

This caravan park is (kid) heaven. This jumping pillow is fun. The park is well maintained with nice gardens. Staff are super friendly and helpful. It is regularly cleaned. We stayed on a Saturday night so lots of movement on the Sunday morning but still very relaxing. Make sure you book the private spa for an extra $10 you get 30 minutes in a nice hot tub

Very nice park with newish amenities that are well maintained.
Pool area is nice with adequate area around for leaving clothes and towels etc to stay dry with a number of sun lounges. Cantilever umbrellas to shade both the wading and large pool.
Coffee van comes into the park in the mornings for that pick me up, and on the Friday night we were there a food truck cam in for dinner, serving burgers and fish & chips.
Only negative is that it is a fairly tightly packed park.

The staff a so rude, while the girls are really nice some of the men take the rules to serous they will get angry at you over anything even if it s not a rule, they just want to something to yell at you about. The cabins a very small, the bathroom door touched the toilet and the internet sucks, before I came here I thought big 4 caravan parks where great now I know they are horrible. DONT COME HERE

Very good holiday park. 2 bedroom miners cottage was very clean, a bit dated in styling. A shame there was no oven, but you can manage with the small cooktop and microwave.
Pool was a good size and great to have the smaller kids wading pool.
Park amenities were as you'd expect. Plenty for kids to do with playground, games rooms, jumping pillow and kids daily activities.
The coffee van each morning is a great addition.
Walking distance to Sovereign Hill is a bonus.

Very pleasant experience, friendly people and guests with great amenities. I love that you have options here, whether roughing it or, as we've done for this visit, getting a stocked cabin. Will come again.

Clean and well laid out with some good options to keep the little ones entertained. Indoor play area is an unexpected gem for toddlers and young children (to maybe age 6 or thereabouts). Our cabin was well equipped, reasonably up to date and clean (ok, there were a handful of ants near the inside bin ... But this is Australia for heaven's sake, you can get ants in a high rise without trying ). Love the Satinjet showerhead, so much better than normal water savers.

We had the best 3 day 3 bed room unit was out of this world

We stayed overnight as went to AFL game at Mars Stadium - we froze at the footy so left at half time and warmed ourselves up beautifully in the cabin at park.

We have stayed at a few big 4 parks but this is the best by far great park fantastic, staff good amenities bit of a walk to the shops but thsts all will definitely recommend this place to friends and family

Friendly staff on arrival, I accidentally booked online for the the wrong day and the lady at reception was great with letting me know who to call to receive my refund.

The accommodation was super tidy and clean, the park was kept spotless and we will be coming back here to stay for work in the future. 5 stars for me.

Warm and friendly. No oversight on amenity. Bathrooms are best I've been in. 5 mins to anywhere in Ballarat.

We stayed here for a night while visiting Sovereign hill.
Funnily enough the kids loved this holiday park better than Sovereign hill. All being between 5 and 2 the kids loved playing on the bouncy bubble, playground and indoor activity centre. The pool looks great and the kids were dying to go in but it was just a bit cool. We had three families each with a cabin. The cabins were very comfortable and we had enough room to spread out. The kids loved being able to run freely to the park and the other cabins with their friends. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. I would totally recommend this place if you are in the area.

Perfect service, friendly, clean and tidy. The cabin I had was very good four persons, everything worked fine All this will cost a little extra.

Such an expensive place. This place doesn't offer any better service then most average caravan parks. Cabins are only superficially clean. A mix of very modern and very old furniture. Girl on the reception was nice and friendly but no reason for such high prices. Then, to use the spa it costs additional $10 per 30 mins. SO UNNECESSARY. Goodness. Won't come back for sure.

It was our first time at the BIG4 Goldfields park but wont be our last!!
We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and couldn't be happier with our Easter weekend with plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy.
We will be back!!

Very convenient location close to city centre and local attraction Sovereign Hill, great family friendly park, excellent children play areas. Only lacking shaded area at outdoor cooking area.

Relaxing and facilities top notch. Clean surrounds and would stay there again
