Edit: I initially rated this company one star. I'm changing to 3 because they did refund me what I paid for the return trip, and I want to encourage them to keep refunding customers. However, I will still not use them again.
I scheduled a return trip to the airport this morning with the same driver I rode with when I arrived, cab 411. He told me he would be at my dad's house at 4 am to pick me up. I called to confirm the day before and he promised to be there. 4 am, no cab. I called him and he said he was on the way and had overslept. Said he'd be there in 25 min. I called back in 30 min-- said he was almost there. At 4:45 I was in the process of booking a Lyft ride when he pulled up-- in his personal car. By that time I was cutting it so close that I didn't feel I had any good choices. It was too late to get another cab. If I hadn't been so sleepy I would have given up on him earlier.
He drove 90 mph on the highway. I had no way to know the condition of his car, and no dispatcher was tracking us, which was one reason I had thought a cab was safer for a woman traveling alone. Although he wasn't using a meter and I'm sure didn't give any of my cash payment to the cab company, he charged the same fare as on my initial ride, more than double Lyft. And I barely made it to my plane on time.
I didn't mind paying for the personal security of a cab-- but I didn't get what I paid for. Next time I'll just use Lyft. This cab company should be more careful and hire reliable drivers who don't try to scam them and their customers.
