Great place to stay for a young family like ours. So much to do for kids, swimming pool, games room, indoor and outdoor playground and the place is close to Sovereign Hill so only a short walk and easy to get to the CBD as its just down the road. Staff are also all very friendly and welcoming!

Excellent place to stay whether its 1 night or a number of nights.
Staff are friendly and whole park is spotless.
Highly recommended.

Great cabin with all needs met. Good facilities for kids and possibility of paid pedal cars and spa. Staff were always friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them! Close to all town facilities, possible to walk to some but weather was against us. Would highly recommend this park to others for short or long stays.

Had planned to stay at the Big4 Goldfields Park, however the chap on the phone was not willing to allow me to check in at 8.30pm. Strange... it wasn't like I was asking to arrive after midnight. Also quoted $38 for a basic powered site which is very expensive (especially in May), but appears to be the norm for many Big4 parks now. My advice would be to shop around with the independent parks for a better deal, especially if you don't require a jumping pillow etc.

Fantastic staff, extremely enjoyable stay! Staff went out of their way to help with caravan issues and even hand delivered a paper, could not recommend more!

Great environment for both adults and kids. Staffs were super nice and friendly and helpful. Location was close to all town facilities. Would highly recommend this park to others for short or long stays.

What a great place to stay with the family, Staff were very friendly and nice. Park was very well maintained, with plenty to do for the rugrats (3 year olds) play ground/jumping pillow/kids play room etc. Location was excellent in regards to the main shopping district. Will be back again :-)

It has a great place for you to camp out as well as a great area for the kids to play

Had a great stay. Very close to sovereign hill. Dump station of low standard. Men staff had attitude problems especially with kids. Electric scooters not aloud but there crazy fast karts are ok, slow down. Only 2 karts and everything at extra price. None of this listed on website.

Fantastic place to stay- friendly staff, great facilities and super close to Sovereign Hill. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back sometime soon.

The whole park maintained to a high standard.
Would not hesitate to reccomend, next time in Ballarat will definitely be staying here.

It is a very well managed caravan park, it has all the facilities for kids and families such as family bath etc, also hot spa will be very nice for cooler season although it is not for free. Staffs were always kind and helpful. The only downside is its tent sites are quite small, it will be full with one car, one small tent and one small gazebo. On the booking, caravaners will be gettting larger sites though.

Good place to bring the family, abit on the pricey side and close to the town

Just got back this afternoon. Wife, kids (6&7), and I loved it. Really cant fault the park. Guy running daily kids activities was excellent. Park setout is great. Quiet. Bathrooms are good condition and clean. Definitely recommend! Note: Ballarat is cold, so be prepared with jackets, extra blankets etc!

We arrived at a rainy chill day so we decided to upgrade to cabin. The stuff are very friendly. Very clean and big cabin enough for family of four. Park facilities are fantastic for kids. Jumping bed, Inclosed tennis courts and basketball area. 500m from Sovereign Hill the gold mine historical park. Close to town centre. Quite at night without hearing traffic. Would definitely recommend to stay.

Stayed there 13 years ago and it has added and upgraded cabins. A good park to stay in. The cabin was clean and warm.

Very professional attitude. Things for kids to do, bouncing pillow, outdoor pool playgrounds. Movie channel in cabins and wifi.

Fantastic location and fun for the kids. My kid wouldn't go to sleep as there are many things to keep him engaged. They also arranged kids club, barbecue sizzle for australia day and a food truck which had really good burgers. Plus lot of things are really close by.

I keep on doing comments on Big 4 caravan parks all over Australia because I travel all over Australia the Ballarat one is a typical Big 4 it's clean it's well maintained and it's very well managed I got a drive through that was 20 m from the amenities it was a great little spot to stay in my caravan is just too big for their ensuite sites but they accommodated me with a drive thru very very close the amenities and then this was spotlessly clean great pressure in the showers and it was just a thoroughly nice stay

Stayed 11 days and the park and staff were fabulous.

I was there over school holidays so it was very busy.

Grounds impeccably maintained & amenities have heated floors!

Movie rooms were an unexpected bonus.

A clean and well appointed park run by a team of the friendliest, most helpful staff who made our stay a delight. Lots of activities on for kids during the holidays when we visited over summer, and the park is just the right size that you can let them roam free without concern. All the guests seem pretty laid back, with nobody blasting music or being rowdy when we were there. Definitely recommended for a family stay.

The park was clean, the campsite was very good and the amenities were clean and tidy. Enjoyed our stay and have booked in again this time in a cabin.

The 3 bedroom cabin was so well kitted out and immaculately cleaned. They had park equipment, a jumping bag, a pool, and an indoor kids playground - which was perfect for a family with 2 young kids. The whole park was so well looked after and the staff were so friendly. They also popped the air con on for us in advance and put fresh milk in the fridge. It really was a delight to stay there. We ll be back.

Short walk to Sovereign Hill. Shower/ Toilet blocks are floor heated and therefore warm and dry. Very good park.

An awesome swimming pool and great play areas for kids of all ages. Very clean park and friendly staff. The cabin we stayed in had some maintenance issues and may only last a couple more years until needing full replacement. Easy walking distance to Soverign Hill and the Gold Museum.

Miners cabins were nice, suited or needs. The family friendly feel was great, kids services were brilliant, especially the kids club

We have been travelling Australia for 2 1/2 years in our van with 2 children. I just called this van park for a price for a week and was told it was $385 a week!!!! You have got to be kidding,dearest van park we have come across,have also read reviews and sounds like they need to pick their act up if they want to charge that much. No family will stay there for that price,wake up people!!!

Don't trust the review from booking websites, they are designed to give high ratings even if your only mildly satisfied.
I only gave it a 2 star because of the fridge and TV other than that I don't really have anything good to say.

Contacting the park over the phone felt like calling to visit a prison, then when we arrived it also felt like visiting someone in a prison. They have a three stage checkin process. Must pay with credit card, then give credit card info for security deposit and fill a form. Then deposit for the room key. And they ask too many questions, feels like an interrogation. Then they go with you to your room.
We travel all over australia on a regular basis, average once a month, this is by far the worst we've stayed especially in balarat.
When we got to the room it was cold and dirty the floor was sticky "not been cleaned" and everything else seemed only "just clean". Facilities were very outdated except for the fridge and tv.

Park ok but need longer slabs on sites. Also stay away from trees as they drop rubbish all over your van and car and it sticks to car. have a site in open not under trees. Friendly girl in office. Lovely in fact. Shoer/toilet blocks are excellent and heated. Shower water pressure good. Camp kitchen very good. Closest Park to Sovereign Hill. You can walk there and back.All in all quite a nice park to stay in. Quiet at night too.

Best place to stay if ya have kids! They have bikes for hire, a kids game & movie room, a swimming pool & a kids jumping pillow! I NEVER heard my kids say that they were bored not once!!!

Great service, facilities. Smaller park with average sized spots, but in a populated area so this is expected. All facilities exceptionally clean for whole visit, great family park.

Very noisy park, got very little sleep, very expensive!!

So far 2 nights into our stay and we are having a great time. Clean amenities. Plenty of BBQ to cook dinner on. Kids love the salt water pool, jumping pillow and playground. Only downsize is that the sites are quite small and as we have a rear fold camper trailer, we couldnt fit the kids room on as the site wasnt long enough even though we were told at reception that we had the largest site. Lucky we bought a swag just in case.

We had a great time. Loved the atmosphere of the park, loved the spa, and our place was really nice. We stayed in the big cabins. We would've liked it more if the lounge area was a bit comfier for bigger groups- there was one tiny couch and an armchair so everyone else had to sit on bar stools and dining table chairs when we were relaxing in the lounge. But we really enjoyed our stay overall though.

Nice place to stay same price for unpowered and powered sites. Decent kitchen and bathrooms.

Staff friendly. . Amenities great loved underfloor heating in showers.. facilities and grounds well maintained, heaps for the kids to do walking distance to sovereign hill and 5mins to town centre.. one very small issue drains couldnt keep up when used washing machine in van just meant lawn got extra watering. . Would highly recommend

Lovely setting with good sized sites . Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Amenities were very clean and well maintained. I especially appreciated the under floor heating in the amenities block

Called the 1800 number provided on the website with a query. The man who answered was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Plenty of other campsites around so no way would we book somewhere with such poor customer service!

Great camping ground. The English lady at the front desk was fantastic and extremely helpful. The grounds have everything you need and is clean and modern. The place is a bit expensive compared to other campgrounds but that extra cost comes with great facilities.

We normally avoid travelling in school holiday periods, but despite being busy park and amenities were exceptionally clean and tidy ( and a good number of amenities). Staff friendly and a great sized site.
Great location. Will stay again.

Nice caravan park. Heated shared bathrooms which is nice. Only niggle was tight driveways to back in big caravan. But overall great facilities.

What you would expect from Big4. Well laid out good size sites, clean amenities, happy people.

A very quite place to stay although it is in the city. Kids had fun in the playground and the playroom. It is just a walking distance to Sovereign Hill which we intend to visit. The cavin is clean and staffs are very accomodating. We left my husband's mobile phone accidentally in the room when we checked out and they organized to send it in the mail for us. Very honest people..we will be staying back here again in the near future

Amenities are good and the park is close to all the attractions the town has to offer.

Nice place for camping. We had a lovely time there. Bathrooms and kitchen were nice and clean. Getting to town and grabbing some grocery was really easy and there's a very good butcher in town too.

great place for kids, we didnt have any but enjoyed being their, the staff are super friendly , close walk to bottle shop or have a nice feed at red lion or entertainement

Excellent lawned powered site for my tent, very clean & tidy showers & bathroom. Everything I wanted.

Best caravan park in Ballarat. Very helpful and friendly staff. They helped us find the coolest spot on the campsite at temperatures> 40 degrees.
