We stayed with a school group and found the facilities excellent. Plenty of outdoor activities, staff are friendly and the cabins well equipped and clean. Close proximity to Sovereign Hill.

We went there on our first family camping trip. The place was very family friendly, clean and the staff were very friendly and polite. Our kids had an absolute ball there the weather was fantastic while we were there too so plenty of swimming. I would definitely recommend this caravan park big thumbs up.

This is a beautiful park with a lovely modern camp kitchen, spotless bbqs , outdoor chess game, kids playground, swimming pool with wading pool for the lilttle ones. Walk to eateries & Sovereign Hill. Close to CBD. The staff are all friendly and helpful and escort you to your site. A definite stopover.

Can't fault it. Really happy with the facilities and plenty for the kid's. Indoor and outdoor playground. Very clean. Easy to navigate. Plenty of kids riding there bikes and scooters when we went. Would definitely recommend. Lovely staff too.

Clare & Daniel made us feel welcome. The cabins are wonderfully clean, bed comfortable, bathroom ultra clean. Great amenities for kids as well. Parking for all vechiles & caravans. .

Like us, our friends and daughter commented several times how the staff were always busy keeping the grounds and amenities in such good order. It was well maintained, the showers were always hot and clean, the kitchen and laundry were big and clean and well supplied plus there was so much there for the children, even a indoor playground for the young and movies at times. We personally liked the fact it was not one of those big parks where you are lined up like suburbs. The road was paved, the sites all had grass to park on and a solid cement section for your tables a chairs. We highly recommend this place. The fact that Soverign Hill is just walking distance (350mts approx) made it even more of a bonus, we walked there 3 times, (the night show is a MUST see).
On our last morning in camp my husband suffered a heart attack and spent the next 5 days in hospital, the staff bent over over backwards trying to support us in any way they could. My main issues was storing one of the campers which they allowed me to keep to next to our own camper plus when my family members arrived, they were also put in cabins or sited directly next to us. Their constant concern and help they gave me made a difficult time easier to manage and it was one less thing i had to deal with. I THANK the team at Big 4Goldfields Ballarat so much, not only did they help me above and beyond, it was a GREAT place to be staying anyway. THANK YOU everyone, we BOTH hope to come back and visit one day.

Clean and tidy holiday park. Cabin was in good condition and very clean. Friendly and welcoming staff. Indoor and outdoor play area for young kids.

Great park. Concrete pads with pattern pain was a nice touch. Clean toilets and heated floors in the showers, nice!

Its well equipped and usual facilities. Little disappointing witb the size of some sites some very big others very small with no real average. Good over busy periods with activities to do!

Friendly, helpful staff and clean, modern amenities

We stayed when it was MINUS TWO and the bathroom floors were WARM! Sensational amenities, clean and great smelling, friendly staff. A wonderful place that was not noisy or busy in winter. We loved it.

It was a great place to stay and facilities had a heater in the toilets and music and we though this was great. We also attended the Red Lion Hotel and had tea and drinks. It is a newly renovated hotel We even used there curtesy bus to attend the AFL footy.

It was busy on a public holiday but quietened when all the kiddies moved on. We were allocated a powered site with an ensuite, so that a longer van could take our larger site. All good and booked in quickly. Friendly staff and good amenities. Would stay there again.

Perfect spot with great access to Ballarat's tourist attractions (300 metres from Sovereign Hill). The park his very neat and tidy and well maintained. We travelled here in our camper trailer and the shared amenities were outstanding.

We had a great week in Ballarat which was enhanced by the staff and facilities at Goldfields. The park is neat and well kept, the facilities are spotless, the pool area is refreshing and attractive and the staff are GREAT.

Recently stayed at the park and thouroughly enjoyed our stay...we have a large van 25ft and staff were more than happy to locate us on a site applicable...grounds were being attended by staff continuously with attention to grassed areas...(difficult when not much rain)...slabs were stamped/coloured concrete and more than adequate for our large van, with ample parking for the L/cruiser...The showers and toilet facilities were the best seen for a long time all in perfect condition obviously the staff pay attention to the detail, and if anything needs fixing they fix it. they were exceptionally clean - compliments to the cleaners...front office girls could no do enough to help....even guided us down to our site in a golf buggy....many tks....allan

great park, close to the city, walking distance to Sovereign hill, buses can be caught just outside the main gate, the amenities and Pool in the caravan park are kept in such a spotless condition, well kept equipment and spotlessly clean BBQ,s in the camp kitchen area is what campers look for and at the goldfields you have exactly that, I have stayed at all parks in Ballarat and none compare to what the goldfields has to offer

We stayed for 2 nights, the cabin was very clean and spacious for a family of 5. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a short walk to Sovereign Hill. Will definitely stay again.

Excellent park and facilities, close to Sovereign Hill. Generally hopeless wifi. Mostly timeouts and extremely slow data transfer. Ok mid morning generally.

Very close to Soverign Hill with walking access. Extremely generous and helful staff. Clean camp kitchen with a tv. Also a seperate tv room. Heaps to keep the kids entertained. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this park.

Pool was good a bit cold. Loved the jumping pillow.

My favorite caravan park! Lots of families and kids! Playground, jumping pillow, pool, TV room! Kids were playing the whole day! Spaces are grassy and clean.

Very clean and well maintained Big 4 nicely positioned close to Sovereign Hill and the centre of Ballarat. Friendly and enthusiastic staff, especially the maintenance guy who ran his leaf blower around the park from 9:30am until 5pm each day. Recommended.

Had a fabulous stay at Big4 Ballarat over Easter. Lovely clean park, fun things for the kids to do, close proximity to Sovereign Hill and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Will be back again!

I lived in Ballarat 50 years ago. My parents emigrated there as the original "10 bob tourists". I was a child but still remember parts of it. I'd love to return one day and see it through grown-up eyes. One day.....

Great facilities friendly staff professionally run very clean

Parked a 24 foot van on a powered site. 2 adults 1 toddler, 1 infant, $171 (i think, but pretty cheap i think) 3 nights long weekend.
Terrific location, very friendly and helpful staff, good sized sites with concrete annex area and concrete for van to park on, plus room to park vehicle.
Very close to sovereign hill and other sites.
Park has terrific amenities, all showers, toilets etc very clean, plenty to do for kids.
I would definitely stay here again.

My grandkids had a great time on the jumping pillow...the pool...and the go carts...will definitely be bringing them back for a holiday.... fantastic park to stay....very friendly staff and very nice and clean cabins....

Ideal location and you can walk to the gold mine.
Heaps of onsite goodies, but user pays is a bit off putting.
The cabins are great for up to six people.

Fantastic Park very close to Sovereign Hill. Well maintained park and made very welcome at checkin. Ablutions are always spotless and even has heated floor in the showers. Good sized caravan sites and lots of grass. All up a very nice Park and only a few minutes to town centre.

Bloody truly an awesome stay, stayed in a cabin with my wife and two kids and we were made to feel very welcome. Kids had a blast, park is in great condition and all the employees were friendly and extremely helpful.

Clean, rooms as advertised, and friendly, helpful staff. The location is great and the kids loved the play areas.
However because we stayed over the Queens Birthday long weekend, we were charged $720 instead of the regular $425 for three nights. Our accommodation was organised by other people and as such I was left feeling let down as I had expected much, much more for the price we were paying. In hindsight I should have researched the accommodation before arriving. However, it is still an overly extravagant premium to pay for a public holiday weekend.
Dissapointing, because at the regular rate it would easily have been a four star review.

Perfect for any young family. Pool, hot spa, and lots of room to run around. Only minutes from sovereign hill which was super convenient for the little ones. Had a great time, the service was lovely, they even found me a local gym on the weekend.

This park totally exceeded my expectations. Small park, very well maintained, very clean. The staff is very friendly and super efficient!
Kids and parents alike will love this place.
There is a game room (coin operated games), a TV room (various movies being played throughout the day), a kids club (check timings), a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry (coin operated washing machine and dryer).
Also walking distance to/from Sovereign Hill.
Would definitely go back!

Paid $250 for 1 night in a "spa cottage" with my wife and 2 young children. We picked this place because of the amenities for children. However, it was raining and cold so we went to use the indoor activies, but everything requires payments. Can't play pool without $1 coins, can't play air-hockey, all games require coins. Why not a handful of tokens per child at least?? They had a TV room, but netflix doesn't connect, so that was useless. They have a nice indoor heated spa, but at $10 per 30 min!!! At $250 a night, we can't get a complimentary 30 min of spa? Pathetic if you ask me.
The worst part was the wifi, you get 500MB per day. After a few youtube videos and a skype call, we ran out and had to "wait to midnight" to get more wifi. Disgusted that we can't even get a useful wifi connection after paying $250.
Bunch of cheapskapes that run this place and would NEVER EVER stay here again. What a waste of money. Couldn't use any facilties and could have stayed in a nicer place for less money.

Extremely clean and warm amenities block. Very safe, secure, well maintained park. May I please suggest no fee for the spa (or perhaps a smaller fee) and some soft furnishings for the TV room - sofas, bean bags etc.
