Fun water park but wish they would keep it up better
Super fun! Took my 7 and 11 year old and they had a blast! So many slides, two lazy rivers, and the in-betweens. A bit overpriced though hopefully they can knock it down to like $30 in the future. Gotta tried this place at least once.
OMG...this was a great place to bring my daughter. We had a blast! So much to do. Great way to cool off!!!
Expensive! Probably overpriced? Crowded! Mostly nice staff. Decent parking with a bit if a walk to the park but not bad. Lots of slides and water activities.
We have been purchasing season passes for several years now, mostly because of all of the perks. Well, BK decided to change that policy this year and not offer any extras with the season pass. My husband purchased our season passes during the Black Friday sale against my wishes. Now we come to find out that, if we had waited to purchase our passes on May 15, they are now offering extra perks including free parking and friend passes. HOWEVER, they will not honor these extras for anyone that purchased their pass before May 15! So we are being punished for purchasing our tickets in advance! The only reason I gave them two starts is because my girls enjoy the park. Something is NOT right with this! ALL season passholders should receive the same perks regardless of purchase date!
Great fun, but it was sweltering hot & all drink machines were closed down. Didn't make much sense, especially in July.
Had a blast at big kahunas . Kind of high price. Floats needed more air & the soda was flat but other than that all was worth it
Amazing staff. They are always friendly, and keep the apartments maintained and safe. Great apartments. Pool is beautiful and much more comfortable than any other apts I've seen. Dog friendly people and staff. Residents are super friendly.
Wouldn t recommend of you re over 10. Big waste of 50 bucks for an hour of nonsense. Lockers are $11 dollars for the smaller one and they don t have seating. They charge $5 dollars for parking. Overall waste of time !!!!
It was great fun! Food sub par for the price as well as service not friendly.
Although very pricey but great place to take the kids and enjoy the day
WARNING TOURIST!!!!
Horrible experience! Don t take your little kids here. The life guards aren t actually trained, they re minimum wage hired and the water rapids worker slung my son down the rapids not fully on his float he was tumbling head over feet. The other ride worker who helps push the floats through the water wasn t ready and was screaming at the guy who shoved my son down. It was scary. 2 workers SCOTT AND HAYLE cursed at my wife for being in the water without being on her float trying to save our son. We will never be back and we will warn everyone. We are local!! The best water park to go to is SHIPWRECK ISLAND an hour away from this horrid place!
Rides are great but the food is terrible and yesterday they had no ice for drinks in the entire park, so rather than buy ice they were serving drinks warm for the same outrageous price.
Very expensive food is outrageous they charge you to park to go to their establishment who does that it really takes a while to figure out how to get around from ride to ride they could make it much better
Fun place for the family! There was a part of the water park that was under construction but my family and I still had plenty of fun!. I HIGHLY recommend the philly cheese sandwich!
A great water park: Water fun for any age. Nice lazy river. Plenty of nice staff, including the Safety staff.
Plenty of lockers for stuff with free re-entry.
Grab a chair for the changing room.
Had a blast. Some workers look like they hate there job and other workers make you wish you were single overall eat before you go because there's not many choices. Definitely planning another trip soon!
Took my 3 and 5 yo here during our beach vacation. They had the best time! The place was clean and well maintained and we felt like the ticket price was well worth the experience; we were there for 6 hours and our kids didn't want to leave. There was plenty for them to do. We were impressed with the apparent culture of safety. The lifeguards were very attentive and appeared well trained. We would definitely go back!
So many rides great way to stay cool. Fun for everyone. Weather you just want to relax in the lazy river or let the kids play in the kid section. Fun for all ages
This was my first trip to Big Kahuna s and my second trip to a waterpark ever. The sidewalks were very hot and burned the bottom of your feet. I noticed that there were certain sections of the park that smelled like pee, and to top it all off, I now have pink eye and a double ear infection after visiting this park. Do not recommend.
Great time!! Lifeguards are always on duty. Really fun place for family travelers
Started off very fun. Then we got hungry. Food took forever to get. They didn't understand our order. Charged us for items we didn't order. Some of the slides weren't even opened, but we were told because they are "duplicate" slides. We looked at the map and they were definitely different. They all had different names. The 3 in the very back left we're closed. The manager who informed us of this was very rude about it as well. Made us seem like we were children complaining. I am a 27 year old married woman who was trying enjoy all I could for the price I paid.
Mng is very rude and dismissive they explained that is lightning strikes are within 8 miles they shut down for the day even if it's not bad the whole day complete rip off just a way to get people's money and not provide the service. They said all watermarks do that that I called Waterville completely not true they shut down if it's lightning but then re-open when it clears.
Son loved this place. A lot to do just be ready for a workout climbing steps to the bigger slides. They do charge for parking on the way out. Fun times had. Lockers start at $11
Bring water shoes, umbrella, gps, and a helmet. There is little to no shade in 3/4 of the park so be prepared to sit and stand in the sun a lot. Due to lack of shade, you WILL burn your feet walking around the park. Navigating the park is as much fun as pulling fingernails. Lastly, be prepared for the slides to knock you around. We were there for 3 hrs and experienced banging our heads on more than one slide along with 3 other people who experienced the same.
Aside from those things, it was still a fun experience. The place didn't feel over crowded and the water felt great on a hot June day. The slides that don't beat you up were pretty fun.
The wave pool is small, but the slides are fast and fun. Staffed with loads of lifeguards. Great place for a family outing or just friends. Tickets are pretty expensive, but season passes are available for about the same price. Military get discounts as well.
It was our first time visiting the water park and I gotta say it is definitely family friendly. My girls are 8 and 2 and they absolutely loved it. The only negatives were the accessibility for strollers. Ramps were very limited and we had to carry the stroller going up and down the stairs. The restrooms were also very dirty. I know it's a water park but I think they could've had someone in charge to look after all the water in there and the toilet paper everywhere. Other than that it was great.
No floats, river water was dirty, & 2 out of the 4 single bathrooms out of order. Not worth price of admission.
We had a lot of fun. Hard to get photos though. Unless you have waterproof cameras
The worst spent money! Very dirty pools and slides, restrooms are the worst! Had to change baby's diaper on my knees because couldn't even imagine to put him on changing table... no matter that it is off season, you should either inform that almost half of slides will be closed or give some discount for people. Paying full price for half of the park is crazy! Never ever coming back!!!
Nice water park. Food could have been better. Life guards take their jobs seriously
PLEASE CALL 911 IF YOU GET INJURED IN THE PARK....NO MATTER IF FIRST AID AND LIFEGAURDS ARE THERE HELPING YOU OR NOT!!!!!!!
After being a local for 4 years, I was excited to finally take my children to Big Kahuna's this summer with a special they were offering. A group of my family went and we rented a Cabana. Toward the end of the day, I fell and got injured on a slippery area. I went head first into the lazy river going down the cement stairs and hitting my head on the cement wall. I was really banged up and very bloody. I could barley walk. Lifeguard and First Aid came and bandaged me up the best they could. A few days later I had to end up going to the Dr. Since then, I have called Big Kahuna's and spoke with the employees and managers (who have all been VERY rude to me, by the way) about me having to go to the Dr and what I needed to do to get compensated for my medical expense since I fell on their property. I was referred to the corporate office that is in California, under the name of, Palace Entertainment. I talked with corporate and sent them all the info they asked for. Corporate told me that Big Kahuna's did NOT have an accident report showing that I fell at all, but that they would investigate it. I have now gotten a letter from corporate saying that not only do they NOT have any record of a dangerous fall or what have you, but they do NOT even have a record of my visit at all on that day! I have my tickets that were scanned and stamped, I have receipts were I bought food IN the park and we rented a Cabana were we had a personal server....but there's no record I was even there at all that day?! I am out hundreds of dollars from the Doctor's visit and somehow they are hiding the fact that I was even there in the park. I am at a complete loss.
THESE PEOPLE AT AND OVER THIS PARK ARE NOT HONEST AND WILL NOT HELP YOU IF SOMETHING HAPPENS!
Middle of tourist season and lines still moved pretty fast. Expensive food but good. They have alcoholic daquiris and non-alcoholic as well. Lots of kids and baby areas as well as fun for older kids and adults too. Lockers available starting at $11 but my big bag fit in the smallest size available so it was ok. Over all great!
Lots of fun rides and you can rent private cabanas.
Some rides were closed & alot of the park looked kinda old.
BK's haunted attraction is amazing! We enjoyed our frightening walk-through! It is super creepy seeing it at night and without water!
I enjoyed my experience because the environment accommodate all ages and is handicap accessible.
It was decent for the price. Lazy river kinda sucks. Riders kept getting stuck because water flow was not strong enough.
Awesome water park for the family. Perfect for little kids!! This place is very overpriced!!! But it's what is expected when your in a tourist destination. The cabana rentals are worth it if you have less the 6 people they say up to 10.... but that's if you wanna be cramed in their! It's a very small area for 135$! in the summer theirs no finding a seat so you definitely want a cabana! They have lockers that are very overpriced and super small for all your belongings! Overall it's a nice place to take the kids for the day....but just expect to spend a nice penny in their!!
Dont go!
Shipwreck Island in PC is much better.
Season passes expire before the notify the public and SHOULD BE POSTED ON CARDS. SMH!!
Managers seem careless.
Bad Experience!!
Lots of slides with lots of options. Park is laid out to keep visitors moving and lines short. Food isn't ridiculously over priced.
Big Kahuna's is a perfect place for fun for the whole family!
Just go to shipwreck island waterpark you will save time money and actually have fun and enjoy it. I'm only ten but I know that here the lifeguards are meanies,I wanted to throw up my food, and it was 300 for my family and their is only 4 of us. At shipwreck island it's SOOOO much cheaper, the lifeguards are nice for example :I went on the free fall I was next in line with my friend lane and we were scared and the lifegaurd was so sweet and talked to us and even made me laugh (which is hard to do). Also when I was on the tube ride the life she was like I like your bathing suit and nicely smiled at me, on the tube thing with rocks they are very safe and their are LOTS of lifeguards
The park is confusing to expensive 40 slides is what they say but the only have 14
Real nice. Kids and I loved the place. There is a free wave rider as soon as you walk in if you make a hard right. I didn't find it until i had already put my clothes back on. The green tube lazy river aslo makes waves.
They are racist, and mean! They food are nasty I had a snail in my nachos. The staff are very rude. My drink was water down. I got food poisoning. They treat us black people like Trash. The general manager is racist ! PLEASE DO NOT WAIST YALL MONEY THEY ARE RACIST AND LOW DOWN
Everything very well organized and above all very clean and looking for the distance
they weren t giving us our money back even tho they had us there for over 5 hours waiting for us to swim but still did not let us swim
We bought season passes for two small children and when we went we were highly disappointed. They were doing construction and had 50% of the kid area is closed the kid areas that were open we re not maintained they had the whole winter to repaint and fix things up and nothing was done. I spent over $200 on season passes so my kids can enjoy something besides the beach since there s a little no we re kind of stuck in really not able to go until the construction is complete. When we went we try to get some food and we went to one counter to order and they told us we had to go to another counter so we went to that counter in the net told us they weren t open this is at 12 o clock . We have left numerous messages and emails nobody has gotten back to us highly highly disappointed in Customer Service and in how they operate
Fun time kids love it parks hours are a little short
Fun for the whole family. Requires a lot of walking and stair climbing so be prepared. They have delicious popcorn
Good very nice need little more Education to crew member
I have been going here for MANY years. I do not go every year, however I was young the first time I went and I am a lot older now, so that should tell you something! Nothing like hitting a water park on a hot day, eating some great food and perhaps even throwing back a cold beer or two! I really enjoy the atmosphere (the theme is perfect for a water park!) As well as the rides!
Happy I read all the reviews before I wasted upwards of $100
Visited with my family on 7/14/18. Over priced, over crowded, confusing design and generally not very clean feeling. Felt like swimming in a petri-dish. Every side surface has a dirty ring on it like an old bathtub. A lot of hot sidewalk areas, entire family burned their feet. Locker area and food court were shoulder to shoulder crowds. Worst part was the tube availability. Best rides take tubes and there was on average 1 tube per 20 park visitors. It was like something out of the hunger games to get a tube. We were there 3 hours and never found a free tube. Wave pool makes waves for 60 seconds then nothing for 59 minutes. All in all I could not wait to leave. If you can t swim or are afraid of the beach this place might work for you but I say just go to the beach across the street for free. Enjoy nature, save your money.
It's not worth a star or to play for free. Terrible!
okay place, employees are rude and seem mentally slow. makes for a frustrating combo. as long as you don't have to interact with them you will have a okay time
Went today and the lines are not long surprisingly and if some seemed to be it went by so fast
The kids that work there are nice
One lifeguard however through a blue float in the water and hit my son with it I almost threw a lifeguard in the water sorry I m sure it wouldn t have been the first
Great place not overwhelming with size of place and it s just really fun
I don t know if it s because we went at the end of the season, but the park was dirty, the staff was lazy, and the whole place just seemed so unorganized. The park is a maze... like how many rides can you pile on top of each other. The inner tubes used for the lazy river are also what you use for the rapid rivers and good luck getting one and if you do, it might be blown up enough for you to not feel like your butt is dragging down the rapids the whole time. Speaking of the rapids, they are so poorly designed. Way too wide. The water has too much backflow and my daughter finally got off the ride 5 minutes after we did because she got caught in a couple spots that just sent her backward instead of forward... remember the lazy lifeguards? Yeah, they didn t help her. It took a little girl that was crying because she was stuck for the lifeguard to get in and help her. Did she help anyone else who was stuck? Nope. Just ridiculous. The staff is lazy, Park is dirty and so poorly designed, the food is ok, but don t look behind the counter at how bad they need to clean, and you d think for charging to park there, they would have a better parking lot. Drive an hour and go to Shipwreck Island in Panama City. So much more worth it. Trust me.
Wow! After reading the reviews I won't be going there. #fromCT #iwillstayonthebeach
We have season passes to big kahunas. It's a small park but it's great for a weekend getaway and family time. The staff is always friendly and the area is pleasant for all your family young and old.
To start off the ground that they have put around the park gets extremely hot on your feet especially the little ones, So that should be fixed ASAP, easy solution is to put misters spraying the ground easy fix, the money they make they should use it to clean it really good on the off season before opening the doors, new paint job every year would bring in more money and make it look fresh and inviting to me the costumer etc etc, also more jets in the main lazy River so people don't get stuck would be nice. Fix all water stuff around park that is not working while the other half is, just makes it look run down in some places, They also have to open all rides, even if they consider themselves not busy enough to help lines move quickly, we stood in line for 20min to find out they only opened up one side of the ride at 12:30 in the afternoon, crazy, other than that I would recommend this water park to anyone in the area, it's a safe and friendly place to take your family, plenty of life guards on duty which was a plus.
I am one of the employee's in Big Kahuna's water adventure park. If you there, yes YOU if you are a tourist do not ever visit that place!!! WORST DESTINATION IN DESTIN. Those guys over there have some swamp they call a aqua park inside you can see frogs, all different kinds of bugs and greedy squirrels all over the place also most of the lifeguards are shaking their heads like wierdos.
Currently here during open times and we are the only people here.
I am from south ga and me and my family had so much fun here. We are going back next summer
