I've lived here for 23 years and went for the first time a few weeks back. It was an absolute blast, and I'll definitely be taking advantage of that season pass as often as possible!!!

Fun place. If it was no charge to park it would be a good value.

Charging full prices when half the park isn t even open is absolutely absurd. The ticketed prices should be discounted. The park isn t worth $50 bucks per person and a quarter of it is closed. Absolutely awful. We will never come back or recommend this place to anyone.

Pros:
Great variety of water slides and pools
Friendly helpful staff
Tons of stuff for the little kids to do
Short lines

Cons:
If you bring the family here for the day, it isn't going to be cheap
The layout. It's really confusing and we saw one mostly unhelpful map. You just have to plan on wandering around for an hour your first time there

We'll be coming back next vacation!

We loved it and had a great time (from Louisiana) i just hate that they charge kids 32$ (2-8 my kids) knowing that they will not play that much verses adults 42$

A little congested trying to get in the park. Everything was expensive but, none of the lines to water slides were long.

It was fun it could have better walk ways for strollers.

I love Big Kahuna's great water slides great lazy river great food all though the food and locker rentals are a little bit over priced I'm still a season pass holder and will be every year

The price to get in is ridiculous waited 2hours never got a tube to float most of the slides were closed also $11 for a locker ridiculous plus $5 for parking in a overgrown field try buying a lawnmower or hire a lawn service wouldn t recommend this to anyone the workers were rude you need to hire better management to say the least ridiculous!!!! This place sucked! No refund when rain storm came, $252.00 for 2 hours of walking Jumanga river, that was nasty I demand a refund to my credit card, biggest disappointment of my visit to Destin! To all out there, Don t Go Beware it s a rip-off!!!

HOT!!!!!! Make sure you bring a towel and water shoes!!!! Fun time!!! Oh, and don't forget your wallet....... $$$$

Not as good as it was when I was a kid, but still a joy to bring my little one to today. A guaranteed good time.

Horrible experience! Please do NOT waste your money! They charge $5 to park in a sandy parking lot with weeds to walk through. Then on our way back to the car I was attacked by fire ants that were in the sand! The park is WAY OVERPRICED for what they have! BIG WASTE OF MONEY! Oh, and by the way, the person I talked to at Big Kahuna's said they have no plans to pave the parking lot.

I generally have a good time whenever I go, but I went to Big Kahuna's on the 15th, and obtained food poisoning from the pizza, as well as my friends. Can you please look into this?

Pick up a season pass and take the kids on summer days. It's the perfect spot, when you're too lazy to load up the boat or pack up for the beach.

Always a great time there . Kids has a blast . Great value with the season passes. Pools were clean. Staff was knowledgeable. Our trip there last year decided we will be buying season passes for the years to come. Loved it!!!

Lots of fun for overall. The most visible rides require you to be 4 feet tall, although there are areas for all ages. Really convenient having life jackets available too.

Great place to take you kids :) if you are adult... Not a whole lot you can do... Still none the less great place ...

I love how much fun we have every year except this year. There weren't enough tubes for everyone which hasn't ever happened before. It was nearly impossible to even get one so I wasnt able to ride a quarter of the rides and just swam in the lazy river instead of floating. I absolutely LOVE the staff though. They are always amazing.

Was going to take my daughter here tomorrow but after calling and reading the reviews, I won't even glance that direction.

From the outside the park looked great but when we got inside it was not worth the $38.00 pp we paid. There were not that many slides and on one of the attratcions called the lazy river you would get stuck in the middle of the pool "river" area and another swimmer on another tube would have to pull u out it was a mess!!! The slides that they did have were kind of fun but we will not go back.

It was nice first time going to a water park in the states. Lines moved fluently, they have lockers to put your stuff but you of course you already know you have to pay for it. Plus you got to pay for parking on the way out. Overall I enjoyed the rides and it was worth it in my opinion.

The kids love this place. I like it as well. It is always crowded and some things need maintenance. But definitely worth trying if you are in the area. The kids will enjoy it.

Really fun great place to cool off for the summer ! Only issues is customer service when ordering food or drink they don't understand English and not trained on their menus. Bathrooms are flooded stopped up and disgusting! They need air in the bathrooms also and bigger changing area .

This water park has been around for a while. My mother took me here as a kid. I just took my nephew here. There are a lot of slides, two lazy Rivers (one with a wave machine) and a couple of general swimming areas. Be prepared as tickets are not cheap, and you will have to pay for parking on top of the tickets. There is no outside food or drink allowed into the park, but there are picnic tables located in the parking lot of you decide to pack a picnic lunch. There are lockers for rent ($11 a day I think). You use a credit card to rent the locker, and program a code. You can enter and exit the locker as much as you like at no extra charge. There are plenty of areas for sun bathing or shade throughout the park. The are food options in the park, but I didn't try anything there. There are a lot of life guards, and the staff was generally friendly. If you are just going to watch your kids have a good time, there is a dry ticket option that isn't advertised. They will charge you full price on the way in, and refund $15 when you leave if you are dry. There is something for all ages from toddler to adult here. My nephew had a blast, and so did I.

Such a wonderful place to spend the day with your family!! Love this place....easy to relax there are lifeguards every where!!

The slides were moldy and crusty and felt like they were going to break down. The Honolulu half pipe was such a long line and it was not fun at all. It was dirty and girls BEWARE!!! Your top could fall off on the ride. The workers there are mean and yell at you for no reason. The lazy river let s kids ride the river in no tubes and they crash into the older kids. Most of the slides are shut down and disgusting. 1/10 all around. They make you dump out your water at the front and don t properly check your bags. I would not trust my kids alone at Big Kahunas.

If you haven't been, go! It is worth it. Get the season pass. If you are able

Not good!!! Way over priced. $38 each after a $4 off coupon. Also $5 to park in a gravel/dirt lot. 5 slides were closed. Lifeguards were on their cell phones. Not easy to access half of the park area. No directions leading you to get to the rides. Lots of walking to get to each side (though of course i expected some, but not that much). $210 wasted. Had more fun at the beach. Just go there is free and relaxing.

Over priced for all the more rides there are. Lines werent bad for a Friday. But we probably wont go back.

Tons to do. Super fun. Friendly and excellent staff!!! Season pass is the way to go! I do wish that more of the PATRONS would respect the social distancing guidelines that the park has made so EASY to follow, but the majority aren't doing so, ...sadly. I know we all want this pandemic to end, but unfortunately it isn't over yet...

Be careful of the lazy river, where there are short waterfalls at the beginning before you go into the main river. You get stuck and people will be flying into you and if you are not careful, your heads will collide. Not only did that happen as several kids were coming down, I tried paddle with my hands to get going forward and finally went down the first one, only to come off sideways so hard, I flipped over and smacked my head into the floor, which is concrete. I complained to the manager on duty and he told me they can't do anything and it was made back in the 80s that way. I asked if they could have someone at least stand there to push people through like what was done on the first one and he told me it wasn't possible. He offered me a free ride on a swing which is out front,but since my head hurt extremely bad I was not in the mood. I almost broke skin and have a knot on my head and almost considered going to the ER for a concussion check.

I took my 2 1/2 year old grandson and we had a blast!!!!! He is full of precious energy and the kahuna kept him busy till he couldn't give it anymore. Slept like a log!
Wish the parking was better....

It definitely was not worth the price. The staff was very rude and unhelpful. There were no signs to help guide yourself around the park and the food was ridiculously overpriced. My family and I have no intention of going back ever again.

ride employees careless with chemical spraying in bathroom at 530 July 4 caused him to have major breathing issue when I try to call n speak to manager voice mail full n btw we have season passes

We went here with my sister s family and our 2 boys. We had a lot of fun and definitely got our exercise in for the day (stairs).

There is a friendly environment lifeguards are always on duty, the water slides are fun and safe, the pools are safe aswell they have changing rooms and lockers to store your rooms

Dirty , nasty and most definitely not worth the $ . We were there for abt an hour and saw how dirty it was and decided to leave .. the beach is cleaner then the water here

Great way to cool off during the summer, they could use some renovations and updating though.

Had a great time. From what I saw, most of the people that complained about something was because they can t follow simple instructions that are posted next to each slide. Why should they make special height restrictions for you? Anyway, little pricey and lots of walking up and down stairs to get across the park but to be expected. Overall good experience with staff and facilities

We had a great time! The facility was clean, staff was friendly and patient throughout our visit.

Like all vacations attractions, this place is entertaining and has enough to do. It's a bit pricey but everything looks cooler than some other places nearby. If you're looking for your trip to be a bit more showy and extra than this is a good choice and definitely does have a lot of things you can do if you can afford it!

Staff is terrible, people that work the concession stands are very rude. Half the stuff is closed on one side of the park so the other side of the park is very crowded. Life guards constantly blow the whistle for no reason seems like. $50 a person for a adult is absolutely outrageous since everything isn t open! Been going since I was a kid. Won t be going back. The water park in Panama City is a lot nicer!

We do Season passes every year because it's so reasonable and try to avoid weekends. We all love Big Kahuna, and have never seen snakes like I hear about with other water parks a few hours away. The staff has always been great to us, as well!

Kids will have fun, plenty of life guards but my suggestion don't get the popcorn bucket. It can only be refilled in one location. This weekend I waited over 30 minutes for refill. The guy was working by himself even though two other areas had two people with no lines. Ray was the shift manager never saw him walk through. Bathrooms were a mess. Why have a business if you don't want to take care of it.

A little steep in the price, but we had a lot of fun. Lots of slides and water falls. Two places for the "tadpoles" of the family.

Horrible!!!! Do not waste your money here if you have toddler aged kids. We have a 3 and 10 year old and both weren t very happy. For the 3 year old they will let them go down slides with life jackets but not with a parent so if your child does not swim they just throw them down the slide and it s very dangerous! The staff was rude the whole time no one seemed happy or nice. Most slides have knicks all down them and will tear your back up. This place is over filled with how tiny it is also, no seating at all after 11am. Also you ll pay $11 for a tiny locker and $5 to park. It s a huge rip off for outdated stuff and how small it is. If your kids are younger save your money!!!

i was in the wave pool and i almost drowned. if it wasn t for my sister then i wouldn t be here. all the life guard said was too not go over here if you can t swim. She just stared at me as i m going underwater. other than that the water park was amazing.

I love Big Kahunas! Buy a season pass and you can bring a friend for half the price. Definitely worth the money. Whenever I visit the panhandle, Big Kahunas is always on the list of things to do.

Best end of year deal for season passes! We paid LESS than a day pass costs for all 3 of us to have the remaining 2018 season PLUS 2019 passes! Out of the whole gulf coast Big Kahunas is my absolute favorite!

Terrible course. Have to pay for parking. Unkempt course with short holes just to fit the space they have. There are 3 courses but you cant tell a difference. Really disappointing.

It's okay compared to other parks I'd say waterville is much better

Half the water park is closed due to lack of life guards and the putt putt golf course needed cleaning and maintenance. However, my family had a great time in both parks.

Took a vacation to Destin from Michigan and wanted to do something fun in Destin with a group of 4 people. We all bought passes to the park thinking it was going to be a great time...wrong. Over half of the park was shut down that we were limited to pretty much 2 or 3 slides. All of the food was gone or shut down, not to mention the food quality looked poor to begin with. The water was gross and the lazy river was overpacked because there was nothing else to do except float in a circle with everything being closed. Definitely not worth the money. The price I would put on our experience is maybe $15 each MAX. Will definitely not come back.

It's was great! We have so much fun. I like the fountain. Foods not so inviting...thumbs down.

Great for children and adults alike! This is always one of our favorite places to visit while on vacation in Destin. Lockers are available for rent inside the park. There is a food court area and clean bathrooms with changing rooms. **Discount tickets can be purchased on Trip Shock.

While vacationing in Santa Rosa beach last week we decided to take the kids to the Big Kahuna waterpark. It cost the five of us a total of $255.00 just to walk in. Aside from the fact that my two grandsons, aged 8 & 10, were charged the adult price of $47.99, most of us came back to our condo with painful, blistered feet. We re from New Orleans so we re used to the hot weather. We didn t expect to be walking on what seemed to be hot coals. I would think they would at least warn people and suggest wearing water shoes.
Don t let the pictures fool you. The place is dirty, disgusting and way over-priced. Then they have the nerve to charge for parking. A total rip-off!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Nice park first time visiting and wasn't long lines but they ran out of ice couldn't understand why so to buy the suvirner cups was a waste didn't want hot drinks
