I came in not knowing too much about the S-line Audi's. The staff went above and beyond to introduce me and answer any and all concerns I had to ensure I will be happy in my future purchase of an Audi.
This review is about the dealer not the car. I love Audis and still drive one. BEWARE this dealer! As a so called "premiere" customer whose has leased two vehicles from SM Audi (S4, SQ5) and referred them 6 other customer who leased vehicles, I have received horrible customer service and even shadier business practices. I did an early lease trade in on the S4 to get the SQ5, put down cash, increased my monthly payment substantially and made this my main intention to ultimately not have to pay or be responsible for the excess miles/wear and tear on the S4. 3 months later, in comes a 4300$ bill on the S4 for miles and excess wear and tear. Unknown to me, they claim to ha e "capped" what they were responsible for which was NEVER clarified to me otherwise I would have never done the deal in the first place. Fast forward 3 weeks I have called 5 times and gotten no answers or support from my "friends" over at Audi of SM.

I wanted to inform you of my experience at your dealership. I leased from you in 2016 and everything went smoothly, however returning the lease and getting a new model has been a different story.
In July, I received an invoice from Audi Financial asking for the remaining payments of approximately $1700. As part of my new lease, Santa Monica Audi was going to pay the remaining 3 months payments and receiving this bill was a surprise to me.
I reached out to Helen who assured me that they had sent all of the deal information to Audi Financial and to be patient.
I called Audi Financial every day to verify if they received the funds from the dealer and every day they said no. I was forced to pay the balance to avoid it going past the due date and Helen had to resend the payment to Audi Financial.
I was reimbursed 6 weeks later.
I thought this was the end of it, but I received a registration notice in the mail yesterday.
This was my first lease and I was not informed or aware that there was anything on my end that needed to be done back in May.
When I reached out to Helen (salesperson for 2019 lease) and Zach; Helen, she said that this happens all the time and to write with a sharpie that I don t have the car and to mail it back. I asked for a copy of the Release of Liability as this is what the DMV asked me for.
Helen said- Our assistant who helps and goes online to do the releases no longer works with the company and we don t keep records as it s an online release.
Still, I was confident that everything was handled on my behalf and I sent the paperwork back to the DMV with the lease agreements as proof.
Today, I received 14 tickets in the mail addressed to me from the Toll Roads.
I called the dealership this evening to ensure I was given the correct information and that everything I needed to do was handled.
My husband had a lease with BMW and they took care of everything on his behalf. This is a completely new experience for us.
When I called, I received different information and an attitude from Mike.
Mike, who only referred to me as Ma am, said I shouldn t be putting this on the dealer and that this was my responsibility as the owner.
He was not helpful and combative.
Tomorrow, I will be going to the DMV to ensure this is amended in their system.
As a luxury car dealership, this should not fall on your customers shoulders. We have a choice and we made the choice to bring you our business.
As I m sure you re aware, the DMV is the last place that anyone wants to go- especially 9 days before Christmas when we all have a million things to do.
As I said, we as consumers have a choice and I will be making the choice to never bring you my business again.
I will be leaving a negative review on every website and telling everyone I come in contact with how stressful and disappointing my experience has been with this dealership.
Seeing as how I'm new to the review world I wanted to make sure I let others out here know just how wonderful Santa Monica Audi is. I stopped by just a few days ago while shopping for a 2nd but spacious car. Being that I'm tall (6ft2) and was looking towards purchasing a sedan or even suv Audi was a great option for me. I was greated well and not hassled at all. The location is awesome being lights away from the promenade also a nice election of vehicles on site. I came across a wonderful young woman Christina who I don't believe to be in sales but was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Overall I left Santa Monica Audi with a wonderful feeling and trust this location to serve me further

I was searching online, for the Q7 and submitted a request, within 15 minutes, I got a call from Crystal. She set me up with an internet manager, and I got to Test drive. Everything fast and hassle free.
So many options to choose from and helpful and experienced salespeople. All around a great and worthwhile experince.

This past weekend I was searching for an Audi Q7 on line and submitted a request for help and faster than I could say Audi I got a call from Crystal and she was super sweet and super helpful that I was very satisfied with her service. She gave me a great experience.
I'm a serious car buyer who is going to buy a car this week and asked for a lease quote. I was told by their rude associate MAX that he could not do that. He says I have to come in and before I could even tell him he would then lose my business he hung up on me.

I went here to purchase my first car ever and was scared of how the sales people would treat me, but all was set at ease when I entered the building. This Audi dealership were so friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and made me feel confrontation and at home. They tried to get me the best deal possible and even worked with my credit. For a first time experience I have to say they lived up to all I dreamed. The car I ended up with would have never been possible at another dealership. The staff at his place don't just treat you like another client, but rather a future friend they want to help out and i great appreciate that.

Had the worst customer experience here. I need to buy a new car and was looking at BMW, Mercedes, Volvo and Audi all in the Santa Monica area on the same day. I called upfront and made an appointment with someone named Mary Beth for Saturday at 2 pm to look at Audi A3s and A4s. She wasn't there at our appointment so another salesman saw me. It was an incredibly condescending experience and in stark contrast from the other 3 dealerships I went to. BMW, Mercedes and Volvo were all friendly, helpful and let me look at and test drive vehicles. I'm going to buy a vehicle from one of those 3 places this week. However, the very minute this Audi salesperson started talking to me, the first thing he asked me if I was ready to buy today. I answered honestly, no not today exactly but I am seriously looking and need to buy very soon. He immediately tells me I can't test drive then. I'm a little shocked because since when was that a requirement? It certainly wasn't an issue at the other dealerships. I basically end up having to prove to him that I'm a legitimate buyer, including that I have the financial means. Hey, this isn't a Ferrari here, this is your entry level sedan we are talking about. It was snooty and condescending and left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth and I left. I know I'm just one person but it reflects really poorly on not only the dealership but the brand itself. I'm certainly never going to consider getting an Audi in this lifetime.
Santa Monica Audi had exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Their staff was friendly, and I got the price I wanted. Overall the experience was made pleasant by some wonderful people.
My trunk wasn t unlocking. Matt, a salesperson, who is not even part of the service department, went above and beyond. He greeted us and walked us to the service area. After the service guys wouldn t even take a quick look at my car for analysis, as they were booked, Matt followed up to assist as we were walking out. He walked across the street to the car and problem solved quickly, noticing the valet button was being hit by an object in my glove box.
He turned a 3 star experience into a 5 star experience and saved me a trip to my usual service center Audi Beverly Hills. Thank you so much for your genuine help Matt!!!

I Hate buying cars. I hate car salesmen even more. They are sneaky and conniving, usually. Until I met Dante. I bought an A4 from Santa Monica Audi last week and it was an absolute pleasure. I told him what I wanted. I told him what I was willing to spend. He showed me all the options available and didn't try to up-sell me out of my range. I think most car buyers walk away out of pure frustration with the salesman. Dante was awesome as well as the financing staff. They worked with me and I got what I wanted. Ask for Dante. He's the cool Italian. I would highly recommend Audi Santa Monica.

LEASERS Beware !! I leased my second Audi (3rd through Audi financial) from this dealership. They made a deal with me that they would make the last two payments on my existing lease to get me into a new car. Well here we are 8 months later and Audi financial is contacting me for those payments. After speaking with people on their sales department and John Collis in their financial department, who agreed to solve the matter, I am still getting the same bill. This is really poor business practice and could hurt your credit. I never even had a missed payment. I will not be renewing my lease especially with people who lack business ethics and try to scam their customers. Oh and should I mention that when I signed my lease they had me come back two days later for a higher price on a new lease for the same car, and tried to hide it. Stay away from this dealership. Truly pure scamming. And now I m still left with a $500 bill on top of my monthly lease. Thank you.
I came in to the dealership recently and Chris gave me some excellent sales assistance as I looked around. He was incredibly polite and it was really a wonderful experience. I had wanted more information on Audi's for a while and he was incredibly informative, and answered all of my questions. I will be back once the taxes come in to buy a car from him!

I purchased a 2018 Audi Q5 that was advertised on the internet. My salesperson Ehab was polite enough, but did not go out of his way to help us knowing that he would not be making anything on the sale. He was more interested in having my son come in to see one of their new cars. He also told us the car only came with one key/remote. The car itself shows that there are 2 keys programmed to it. I m still trying to get the second key.

This is the best Audi dealership I have ever dealt with. On a exstensive 2 month search for a specific Q5 I finally met and was able to work with Joe Scheible over the phone to find the car I was looking for. I live in Livermore CA which is over 300 miles from Santa Monica. Through a few phone calls Joe was able to find me everything I was looking for in my car that also fit within my price range. He and the rest of the staff at Santa Monica Audi were gracious enough to answer question, compare vehicles, exsplain similaritys and differences, and also cut to the chase with no BS. There inventory was so large, so what looks like a small dealership is not, and that made finding my car that much simpler.
We then decided on a vehice that we loved with a price offered that was so great we drove 6 hours to Santa Monica to pick the car up. When we got there the car was ready for us to look at, impeccably detailed and the entire staff was able to get us in and out in no time at all. Meeting Joe was like working with family, and that was how the rest of the staff treated us, just like family. We got a full introduction to our vehice by Steve who exsplained everything I needed to know about the vehice before we drove the 6 hour trip back home. The customer service from start to finish was phenomenal and I wouldn't recoment any other dealership to anyone searching for a Audi. I could not thank Joe and the staff enough. I am so greatful to them for everything they did for me and my family during our car buying exsperiance.
At the end of November, my husband and I walked into this Audi dealer primed to buy a Q5. I had called earlier to schedule a test drive. I was told to ask for Z. We purposefully dressed comfortably and down, to better our car buying negotiation. When we arrived, nearly all of the salesmen were seated in the lounge area, not working. Z came out. Did he have the car and key ready? No. We waited a few minutes. During that time, I offered my drivers license for the staff to make a copy. It didn t happen. Z was nice enough, though he wouldn t let us take the Q5 onto the 10 freeway a few blocks away, claiming freeway driving was not allowed for liability purposes. When we returned to the lot, Z was called away to deliver another car elsewhere. Instead of handing us to another salesman, the manager sent out a very professional man, Steve, who told us he usually told new buyers how to use the features in their new cars. Steve kindly answered all of our questions. Still, no salesman came to help us. We had our checkbook in hand, ready to buy and pay cash. We left and bought the LEXUS NX 300H instead later that day.

After being a long time BMW customer, I decided to make the switch to Audi. While all the other Audi dealerships were either too busy, or carrying a bit of a pretentious attitude, Santa Monica constantly had courteous and friendly staff. But the biggest thing that won me over was the deal I got. While others were swearing by their deals, insisting that it was unbeatable, Selena got both me and my wife deals that were way below these so called "unbeatable and non-negotiable prices". She is a no frills, no bs, sales manager. Very sweet, professional, and once again, got me deals on both our cars, that FOUR OTHER DEALERSHIPS wouldnt even get close to. Few Audi dealerships let me walk away and didnt event call to get me back in. Also on each occasion that we purchased our cars thru Selena, we were literally in and out. One Audi dealership, me and my pregnant wife were there for 8 hours, only to get ripped off. Thankfully Selena came and saved the day. Definitely do your research, and then call Selena. They sold me a car with one key!!! I bought a 2018 BMW M550i and after closing the deal they provided me with one key. I informed them I needed the other key and they said they will try on a best effort to get me the other key from the previous owner. After stringing me along for a few days they informed me that they couldn't track down the other key and wouldn't program another key for me. They need to take the professional step and right this wrong. I have a few friends also looking at new Audi's, I'll be steering them clear of Santa Monica Audi.
Update--They sent in a key via mail a few weeks later.
I picked up my first ever Audi from Chris Morales at smAudi and it has been a flawless experience. He helped me get a deal of a lifetime on my 2016 S3. Chris was very helpful and upfront all throughout the process answering all my questions and making recommendations even without me asking. He was never too pushy and was very calm the whole time; unlike another dealer guy that walked out on me. I think he has turned me into an Audi guy for life. Looking forward to more Audis!

Just wanted to talk about a recent experience with Santa Monica Audi. My wife and I were leaving El Cholo on Wilshire when we saw someone driving an Audi Q5. The beauty of the vehicle initally made us want to take a test drive to see how we'd like it. We spoke with Crystal in what I believe was the BDC department. She was very pleasant and informative on a lot of the questions and concerns we had. I'm looking forward to meeting her when we come in.
My husband and I bought a used, certified A4 from Helen at Santa Monica Audi and it was a terrific experience or we should say as terrific an experience one can have when buying a car. Helen answered a mound of questions for one week helping us with information we needed in order to make a decision on the car we were buying since we have never owned an Audi before and have become very comfortable with the customer service we have received for years from Lexus. I think we have begun a long term friendship with Helen. Thank you Helen and SM Audi!

Very poor customer service. Finance manager Cheik won t explain to you what you are signing. You are on your own. Please read every single detail on your contract before signing it. They are adding extra options like theft deterrent device for $799 without letting you know. Finance manager Cheik promised to call me to see if we can fix it or not. I have not heard anything from Cheik. So I guess it s not fixable. But at least call me as promised and let me know...I will not recommend this dealership to friends and family in LA area.

When I finally penned down the salesperson (who had been completely evading me) - got this unacceptable answer that they had given my vehicle to someone else. Horrible customer service. I made an inquiry on purchasing an Audi from here. I had made contact with a salesman and he said he would get started on the paperwork and took all of my needed information. More than 24 hours go by and there s no contact from him and when I reach out to him, he made zero effort to get started on the buying process. Will be going to a better Audi dealership.

I own a Q7 that I bought used from another dealer, then took it to Audi SM for service. Tim Bennett in the service department is the greatest. All in all it's the best service I've had in 20 years of owning foreign cars.
Bought my 2013 Audi Q5 on August 17, 2013 from Santa Monica Audi Dealer. I was cheated, lied to, they ran my credit without my consent and within one week my car was in for service for jerking. All everyone cared about was their survey and getting a 10 when in fact they deserve a ZERO! I would highly recommend NOT going to Santa Monica Audi, rather pay more for a car and buy else where. I came in with my own financing and without my knowledge they financed me with their Audi Financial. They are ruthless, useless and horrible people. I am so upset and sadden by the service and experience I have received.
