Very nice hotel with the best bed I have slept in, in a hotel.

Nice coffee, comfortable facilities and very pleasant and helpful staff

Excellent hotel, rooms excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful, Breakfast is to die for & I'd recommend everyone to give this place a visit or just to have a drink in the Bar which is excellent with very friendly bar staff.

We last visited this hotel a few years ago and we were disappointed at that time by the lack of a restaurant. They only had a carvery then, and the food served up was bland to say the least. What a difference now as they have Darwin's Restaurant, a great place to dine, super menu with great food and service . My wife and I will definitely return to this hotel when in that area. An added bonus was that our room had air conditioning and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old hotel. BobC1944

Stayed here in May and it was a great stay, clean and lovely room, excellent reception staff and a nice bar that's nicely decorated with a good array of drinks.

We have stayed at the George several times and always have a wonderful time there. Staff are all extremely welcoming. Bedrooms are spotless.

Stayed 2 nights whilst on a buisness trip. Great hotel in the heart of everything with many shops just walking distance. Rooms were slightly dated to that of a modern hotel but the hotel had character. Food from the Darwin Restaurant was top, opted for the prawns starter followed by cod loin main, everything was cooked to perfection.

First class Sunday lunch. Only down side. Sharing it with loads of other people presumably because it was good value. Would I go again. Of cause.

Nice menu and food. Staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was fairly quiet when we visited so there wasn't a particularly long wait for the food.
The location is great as it is surrounded by a lot of other very nice restaurants, bars and shops.

My favourite place in Lichfield for a quiet cup of tea. Looks expensive but the prices are reasonable and the staff are brilliant.

We where going to the Dominica Republic but with covi we had to cancel our holiday so we decided to have a short break in litfield. As we have stayed in a few Best Westens we decide to go for 3days. We enjoyed ourselfs we even got a chance if a up grade before we arrived.
The room was very nice i must say. 4 poster bed. Cant fault any thing regarding the rooms there was everything you needed, and if there wasent all you had to do was to go and see reception.

Stayed overnight after a Murder Mystery evening. Well organised and a good breakfast.

Had a 2 night stay to attend a wedding at the George.
Staff where very friendly helpful and very polite, the room was standard the clock radio did not work, one of the lights over the bed did not work and it had a wall heating which was noisy all night long had to turn it off to get some sleep.
The wedding was fantastic the food and service absolutely spot on, apart from the bar as you had to to the main bar for certain drinks that where not in stock upstairs ie tonics for gin and the proper gin glasses.

I attended a Xmas party in the upstairs room. It was crowded but service was good. Food was a bit too fancy. Would've liked the set menu to cater for plainer diners.

Always stay here whilst in Lichfield. Smack.bang in middle of restaurants and bars. Winter saver rate was fantastic and breakfast buffet is great. Better quality items than PREM inn

Great, medium sized, traditional hotel with many modern features and wonderful staff.
Rooms were lovely. Beds were a bit dated and a family room opposite the Walkabout was mildly problematic but still a great venue...

I have stayed twice at the George Hotel, both were stress free and comfortable and have booked for two nights in April 2020 to be sure I have another pleasant experience.

Lovely lunch today at the George hotel, at a reasonable price.

Convenient location for all aspects of the city. Free carpark . Staff in all areas were friendly, helpful and engaging. Service in the restaurant was excellent. Hotel room very comfortable. Will certainly return, great value for money.

We visited this lovely hotel for a friends wedding and stayed over night, lovely place lovely staff really enjoyed our self's. If we are in Litchfield again we will definitely visit again xx

Hotel is in an excellent location and has parking. Unfortunately it does not provide a good nights sleep. Functions playing loud music until fine midnight and a lot of outside noise throughout the night. Some rooms are tired and dated but very clean. Breakfast choice was good but lacking on freshness & quality.

Drinks and service were great. Food was well cooked but under seasoned

The hotel is just ok. Location is wonderful but I was given a room with non functioning air conditioner. The staff kept telling me 'that is just the way they work in the UK' meanwhile the front desk area was nearly refrigerated because the air was working so well in that area. Mine was blowing hot stale air on the hottest day of the year. Every restaurant in the area had excellent cooling. The George staff treated me like I was an imbecile.
AND beware, they do not provide shampoo. Really, I called the front desk and they said feel free to use the shower gel.

Really nice hotel, great location and lovely rooms. Only problem is it's hotter than the surface of the sun! They need to turn the heat down a little! Otherwise a lovely hotel, nice breakfast and great staff!

Very central in the City of Lichfield has a calm pleasant environment. Staff are discrete and courteous providing excellent service. Very good value, would definitely recommend.

The George hotel is positioned conveniently in the beautiful cathedral city of lichfield. Easily walking to shops and culture. The hotel was clean and they had their covid regulations easy to understand and you felt safe and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They are professional and very competent. A great team always smiling. A wonderful experience.

I spent three nights here, whilst on business nearby. The location is excellent, right in the centre of the town, within easy walking distance of the Cathedral, of pubs, bars, restaurants, and shopping.

Free parking is available, for which you have to register at reception. Check in was fine and my room was ok. Although there was air con unit in the room, it didn t work, requiring the window to be open and the desk fan to be running, resulting in noise from both the fan and from the kitchen s extraction unit, outside my room.

The room itself was fine, if nothing special, and was kept spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was ok, although staff were sometimes rather Fawlty Towers in their approach, with a lady at the table next to me being moved after she had begun her breakfast, as her table was needed by another party. There was a good selection of items, although the black pudding was somewhat dry.

There was a very long wait to check out, for which no apology was offered, and the price was rather high for what the hotel is offering. I would look elsewhere for a future stay, although I wouldn t wholly rule the George out.

Friendly staff and always a warm welcome. Rooms need some updating and noisy guests spoiled the nights sleep but that's not the hotels fault.

We called in for lunch, we hadn't booked a table but we managed to get one. We only wanted something light so we had Tomato soup then a beef sandwich which we both enjoyed. The staff were ok not over friendly but we got served quick and enjoyed the food and great prices will definitely be calling in again.

I participated in an event at this hotel and i can say it was all good. Can't rate the rooms but the location is great!

Hotel good. Room 33 a bit noisy overnight plus the fire exit and emergency stairs were in use as thoroughfare from 0745. Not good Safety protocol.
