Room is clean but employees are ride and suspicious of everything
Worst hotel experience in my life. I showed up and asked for a room, the clerk asked for both my ID and my wife s ID, I thought that was strange. We paid and went to the room (209) while walking to the room my wife expressed that it seemed sketchy. We went inside and it was like walking into a very old, out of date room with uneven wood floors, a half frosted window and it had the cheapest mattress ( the kind with springs that squash all the way down when u sit) money can buy. I don t know if it had bed bugs but I didn t trust it. The bed was only covered by a sheet with no blankets. My wife didn t feel safe so I went back to lobby and told her we couldn t stay and told her why, she asked if we would try another room, she sent us to (134) it had the same look with the same cheep mattress
When I returned to the lobby and waited in line another 10 minutes she told me that her GM said not to give me a refund. I checked out immediately without staying. I am attempting to recover the $88 they charged my card and refused to refund. I am sure that at least 1 person will read this review and choose to go elsewhere.
DO NOT STAY HERE! They STOLE from me when I went down for breakfast then wouldn't let me into my room because I had an unloaded 100% legal/registered shotgun under the bed because I didn't want to leave it in my car since there parking lot has the highest car break in rate in all of Clackamas county. They shouldn't have even been in my room or looking under my bed. They went through all of my bags and stole about $350 worth of items. I am currently in the process of bringing legal action on them. I have proof and can validate all of what I have said.
Adequate for the pricing. The free breakfast is not too bad either. A little on the rough side cosmetically.
The room was disgusting! The tub had mold the sink had blood in it. The side of the tub had a mound of hair in the corner. Toilet had not been cleaned. It was sooo gross. The staff could care less about people. So unprofessional.
Clean rooms, competitive rates. Lots of turnover with staff.
Absolutely the most disgusting hotel with the rudest most unprofessional employees and managers I have ever dealt with. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. So many issues and when and if you try to bring this to the managers attention you get belittled and called a liar. These people don't deserve your money and you don't deserve to get treated even half as bad as I did. This business should be shut down.
Room was pretty dirty, not like the pictures online at all. Bed had no skirt, just scuffed up boxspring and no bedspread, just two sheets wrapped around an old blanket. Toilet had someone else's long dark hair on it. There was a small hair dryer to use, and it does have a tiny coffee maker, a small microwave, and a mini fridge. Bathroom is seperate from sink so you can get ready and do makeup while someone showers. Bed was pretty creaky and not the best mattress. Ok for the money but definitely not even a midrange hotel.
They were very helpful when it came to getting a larger room. Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
I stayed here for 3 nights this week and was disappointed by a lot of the hotel. The price was certainly right but many of the necessities went up to par. Approximately half of the bathroom didn't work properly: the shower didn't fully drain so I had 6 inches of water at my feet by the time I was done with a quick shower, the hairdryer didn't work at all, neither did the fan in the bathroom, and the tile was coming up at the door. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well thankfully. The breakfast was only ok. In short: if you're on a budget Sunnyside will certainly save you money but don't expect much.
"People " stole stuff out of my room .the same time that they cleaning. Hum...wonder who did that????
Its not fancy by any means but its not ugly. It could be more clean but the room was nice and the staff was great! They had a good breakfast. Waffle.. Yogurt doughnuts and all that good stuff. There are no elevators and no inside hall ways. Which I kinda like. If you are a high maintenance princess this hotel is not for you... Its great for a last minute change of plans.
I wasn't expecting much from this but I didnt expect what I got. When we open the door to our room, it was like our ability to breathe was just turned off despite there being air. We left the door open and set our stuff down and tried to open the window. The window doesn't open so we left the door open and noticed that there is some machine running in the room that said not for occupied spaces. I imagine that's why our noses started bleeding. We turned off the machine and turned the AC on and vacated for a few hours. Got back from Clackamas town center and re-entered the room and though it was better, nosebleeds ensued again.
Friendly atmosphere, the staff is always eager to assist. Accommodation are perfect. Needing a place to get off the road or a extended stay this place i would recommend.
There were only bath towels in the room. No floor towel for the Jacuzzi or small towels for hands. The jets in the Jacuzzi seemed only to be for show as they had very little power. The fireplace did not work and when we called for assistance they said the pilot were still turned off from summer. Well, it was November and that seemed unreasonable. Online, the check out time stated 12 and I was told it was 11 in person. They did allow for a late check out though. I called for this and still got a knock on the door and a phone call asking about us leaving before 12.
The only positive things that we can say about this hotel is that we had hot water and a working tv. Started with no toilet paper or tissue in the room, after our 12:30 am arrival. When we called the front desk several times, there was no answer. Fortunately, we were close enough to my in laws, who we were in town visiting, that we were able to get toilet paper from them. I even left the empty tissue box out the next morning thinking that housekeeping would replace it. No, they took the empty box that we left on the counter, but did not replace the tissue or toilet paper, nor did they make our bed. There was no coffee in the lobby at any point during our stay when we went to get the breakfast each morning. There was no syrup for the waffles, an no yogurt. We will be visiting the area a lot in the near future, but will not be staying here. It appeared that one guy seemed to be running the entire hotel, but was never to be found when needed.
Great place to stay. Quiet, clean, friendly staff
Only 4 stars because it's over priced for the rooms they offer.
Charged $250 for SMOKING, I don't smoke at all.
I stayed there for a night couple of weeks ago, the room was okay and all went okay till checkout. 2 hours after i checked out, my card was charged $250 without my authorization, i called the hotel and they said they can't say anything as there was no manager. I'm out of state, I was about 40 miles away already, yet still i drove back to hotel to check why they charged me $250. The front desk clerk said i smoked in room and they have PICTURE evidence of me smoking. I have never SMOKEN in life, so asked her to show/send me the picture, she didn't replied to that and called manager on the phone and they went to check the room again. After 15 mins, they said they charged my account by mistake and they'll refund. I left the hotel then and waited for few days and i don't see the refund yet, i called back the hotel and they said i can talk to only manager on this issue and i have to talk only the next day 8AM. When i spoke to her, she said the refund isn't initiated and its my mistake i smoke in room, I asked to send picture evidence she talked about as proof (i didn't still get those). She said she'll investigate the issue on her end and will get back to me, but i didn't heard back from them yet(about 10 days now). I opened a dispute case with my Credit card company and waiting. Will update here if i there are any movements.
These people are rude took money out of my bank account for unavailable transaction for there benefit iam suing them rooms are so dirty you can not take shoes off they have rude grounds keepers kids may not be out doors playing trust me I know
Dirty hotel they will scam you if you do rent room online they will take deposit and if you leave they won t refund you you call them and ask about the deposit they will tell will take 5 business day very clear scam
One of the worst stays we have had. The room was unkept, we were butted up against the freeway and it was so loud. Trying to shower in the morning the tub filled up and wouldn't drain. The toilet wouldnt flush, unless you held it down and flushed it twice. Overall not a good experience.
Do not stay here unless unless you absolutely need to save money. Afternoon staff is a bit rude. Over charge for items. $5.00 for an extra room key. $75.00 hold on your credit card most other places put a $25.00 hold for incidentals. Walkways are unkempt, just did not feel right.
Right on 3 busy roads. If you are expecting to sleep here, you had better be exhausted. Very old. We would not stay here again
very basic accommodation. Rooms on three levels with no lifts. There are steps down to the bottom level and steps up to the others, which is not easy with full suitcases. At least the shower was hot and strong. Sound proofing was awful and here was a lot of noise from the other rooms.
The beds in room 246 are awful. Guess we got unlucky the room itself is pretty though and bathroom is spacious. Free breakfast. But having a good nights rest is top priority for a weary traveler, and it just seems wrong to make guests sleep on the most uncomfortable beds with pillows like someone stuffed laundry inside just kinda lumpy. Idk, this could easily be a great affordable option but I would not return on account of the beds unless better accomodations could be arranged. The staff was very warm and well spirited which I appreciated.
Great place to stay and great rates also the weekend breakfasts are wonderful
Nice rooms, it's a short walk to the city center, near many stores and restaurants, gas station down the street. It's a good location especially for what I needed.
The property is well kept, staff is friendly. The price was reasonable.
My wife and I will be returning
as well recommend this property to family & friends
Staff went out of their way to help me and service was friendly . Sarah front desk receptionist and Kaylee Housekeeping are assets to that business. Rooms were clean and the upgraded room I got was a great suprise... The Manager was also extremely accommodating, i will recommend this place.
Good service & room was good but the atmosphere given by some of the workers & guests made the establishment feel "ghetto-ish."
Nice staff, rundown rooms. Unclean. Hair on pillowcases and in shower. Broken tiles, hole in tub. A lot of smokers including staff.
This place had police all over .... and wanted the I'd of every person including children. To stay there. I left what a joke
For a 106$ a night you would think the bed would be comfortable it was a bad old mattress, and no door on the bathroom.
it is getting none from me cause i felt like their where tweekers out there all night in the parking lot an all i heard was the road the highway
Seemed pretty clean. Outdoor access to the rooms. It is a no smoking property so you'll need to go to the main sidewalk for cigarettes/vaping. Not bad if you're just passing through.
It's a great place if your wanting low cost and low quality motel.
I'm giving Sunnyside Inn and Suites a 5 star Review. The hotel is of course not a 5 star hotel, But if you want a comfortable and clean room at a very reasonable price and where the staff truly loves there jobs and treat everyone like there family. Then this is the hotel for you. I have worked in the hotel industry for over 20 yrs and I can honestly say the GM Crystal is Amazing! I have worked with many GM"s she really does care for her guest and staff and it shows. Plus there really doing a lot of remodeling to make your stay even more comfortable. So if you need to stay for 1 night during your travels or need to stay longer for work, vacationing or needing to stay here while family is in the hospital. This place is perfect. Plus they offer free breakfast. . I can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend this place.
Typical cheap motel, some things didn't work so well, like the door too several tries to unlock with the access card. Customer service stood around and chatted while I stood the in lobby waiting to check in. The room was clean enough though.
Night shift crew is real real bad after online reservation through Expedia the fat behind the counter don't take my credit card
I've been there before using the same card again and again
I tried calling 3 times. On a Thursday afternoon to reserve a room for a week! Was left on hold first time no one came back on. Called back twice then,
no answer. Definitely figured I should NOT stay there. My husband is having surgery next door I wanted to be close by.
Guess I ll go to Clarion. They answered got me set up in less time than it took just to be on hold or try and call at Sunnyside.
Definitely don t recommend
Room service was poor they wouldn't change my sheets rooms aren't clean and breakfast is nasy they put out food that is passed exp date creamer that is old and sour I would not stay here they bugs
Mediocre place. Seems to be in a gettoish part of town.
Well maintained and up to date. Super friendly employees withe great customer service. Honestly willing to help out if you ask.
A very nice and quiet place, clean and the staff is very friendly.
Horrible expierence. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was rude and scammed us out of $ 250 dollars by showing up to our room seven minutes before check out and saying we had to leave and they where keeping our deposit because there where complaints about us . As where bringing our bags to the car they slammed the door to the room closed and wouldn t let us get the rest of our luggage . The only complaint made was by us after we had some druggies knock on our door at five a.m. looking for someone named Kathy ? Then catching them going through our car five minutes later. Will never stay there again , it s not safe and the staff is dishonest rude and thief s .
Staff are friendly, breakfast is decent rooms are comfortable
Pure trash super dirty run down place look else where
Great place to stay..clean..friendly..easy access to freeways..shopping..food..
Great people are nice. APRIL IS very helpful helps me going up and down hill ,iam in wheelchair..she has positive attitude and big smile ..thank you
If this was the last place with rooms available, I would sleep in your car. I pulled up and the first thing that came to mind was "tweaker town", or section 8. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, due to the pictures it shows on the website, I gave it a shot. Walked into the room and BAM, hit with cigarette smell. I looked around and was immediately disgusted. The jacuzzi tub and bathroom area looked nasty, it wasn't "renovated" like the rest of the room. The bed was concave and hard as a rock; it looked like a 600lb+ person laid in it for weeks straight. I stayed in the room for an hour then check out. I went to Marriott which was only $5 more a night. Well worth it. DO NOT GO TO THIS "HOTEL". EVER. I wouldn't give it any stars but I have to, to post. Too bad you can't leave negative stars!!
It was ok until the lady at the front desk charge my card more then booking amount I book on line then charge me deposit ive never paid staying at any motel I book room for 54.00 with tax they charge me 63.00 and the told me in needed to take it up wit my bank ... don't stay at the Sunnyside Inn because they won't charge you what you book the room for online they'll charge you more than they'll tell you that is not their problem and you won't get your money back for almost a month
Came out to support the many fighters here at the Sunnyside.
Inexpensive but clean and the beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is great! The room was quiet even though it's conveniently near the freeway.
This place was by far the worst hotel ever! It looked ok in the beginning but when the covers where pulled back they had obvious stains, the pillows were terrible, and two thirds of my friends left with bedbug bites. One was so bad her doctor had to call in a prescription! So thankful my grandkids didn t stay at this hotel. Also just heard staff laughing about pineapple a past employee told me it their code word for bed bugs. Wish I had listened and gone somewhere else.
Good price, good service. Bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up!
We got this hotel for 54.00 a night. THERE WAS A REASON IT WAS CHEAP. You can hear the I-205 traffic all night long. Everything was dented or scratched up in the room. The bed covers consisted of fitted sheet, flat sheet, felt blanket and then another flat sheet on top to act as the comforter. We had to request another blanket to stay warm. The heater was loud as well. We will NOT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN.
An ok place for a night. The walls were DIRTY, Shower curtain was dirty the mini fridge was leaking and water entered through windows so not properly sealed and super thin. The highway noise was a bit much.breakfast was ok waffles, bagels and cereal, milk coffee juice and bananas
Not a very good price
Rooms sometimes stink
Not bad though
Towels heater not very good when it comes to blankets though.
It okay though
The floors were so dirty they made my feet black and I didn't do a lot of walking in the small space. Plus they front desk person had a bat making the whole situation fell unsafe, and kept talking about a coworker that was on drugs to the guest.
Quick check in, comfy beds, wonderful hot water and water pressure in the shower! Stayed for a weekend, had no issues at all.
Infested with bed bugs!! Was bitten over 40 times and still have the scars til this day.
Good for the money the lady on the desk gave us and extra room for the price of one. Though the breakfast was not that great . It's ok for the price and the lady who took care of us worth 5 star
Staff was nice.
However, the location was awful: it essentially sits on a freeway ramp and the noise is horrendous. It was dirty. So dirty I carefully got down on my hands and knees and cleaned the disgusting (and cheeeeeeap) linoleum floor myself. And it's basically a homeless shelter. Almost everyone we saw was living there permanently and seemed not to have a job. I chose it because it was central to three jobs we were doing--there will be no next time.
Noisy, slow check in, room smelled like mildew, no door on bathroom, front door barely opened, and paper thin walls. Go somewhere else
Good price for a good place. Wouldn't say excellent but you get more then what you pay for. Nice and newly updated rooms. Clean room accept bed sheets had long black female hairs in it, but so do all other motel prices botela now days
Most guests who underestimate this motel are cheap and picky
My experience is they have Great customer service. Rooms are so clean in every sanitary way.
Loud road noise, staff are not very friendly and not a nice neighborhood. The not pet policy is a joke and the rooms are super small. Breakfast was good I guess that's a plus wasn't work the $$ I paid.
terrible customer service terrible assistance and problem-solving took money for my account wouldn't accept my down payment and ask for $250 cash on top of my $50 security deposit fee do not go here also they have bed bugs
