A company very badly run, unprofessional, staff have no clue on what they are doing.

After trying to chase down a smart meter appointment for over four years once again its a fail !

Today iv had my third consecutive appointment cancelled at short notice. Im totally appalled but not surprised by this constant bad service. Ironically it was BES who wanted to put my smart meter appointment in place ( I gave up trying ) so I would agree to renew my contract, but they still cant manage it !

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

We asked our energy broker to inform BES that we would be changing supplier when we took occupation of a new site. At this point I'm unsure whether BES have ignored them or the broker has not actioned this.

A debt agent walked into one of our restaurants and threatened them with disconnecting the supply and told the manager to tell head office to call him. My colleague later called him that night (45 minutes later) to be met with abuse down the phone and said to him "You are lucky I'm even talking to you!" and "Are you sure you're calling from head office? You don't sound like someone that works at head office". My colleague asked him what the amount was for so he could pay it. He refused to give him any information and told him to call him at 10am the next day or risk cut off.

Another colleague rang BES this morning to resolve but was told they could not deal with him due to GDPR:

1) GDPR does not relate to business to business communication.
2) It is a LTD company meaning it is it's own legal entity and therefore, data is not PERSONAL to a person.

They said they needed to speak to Director for the company as they had his personal details. No they don't. They hold nothing but my name and have no other data such as address, date of birth or even phone / email address. So how on earth would they even know if it was me if I called? Best thing about it is - I've never had any contact with them so not sure how they even have my name.

They still refused to help so despite asking for payment - they wouldn't accept it! You could not make this up!

An hour later - after having the phone put down on him already - he finally battled through to speak to a manager and received the amounts due.

This manager informed us that the agent who had visited yesterday was lying as they did not yet have a warrant to cut off the supply but that he was the "last step" in the process. So basically - he has threatened something he could not do to force an outcome.

They have been charging an out of contract rate which has made the bills incredibly expensive. As a compromise, I asked my colleague to offer them to back date a new contract if we could agree a new supply with BES. Sales then quoted 20p a unit (our other sites pay 13.7p per unit) for electricity and 5p a unit for gas (our other sites pay 2.58p per unit).

We have quite clearly been blackmailed in to signing a new agreement with them or face these incredibly expensive bills. Problem is - either way - we are being taken for a ride.

We contacted them one last time to offer them to deal with this complaint and to look at unit prices - however, they refused giving the same customer service email address and pointing us to the "complaints procedure" - which also only had the customer service email address (to which we've already discussed this with them).

This company is a joke. They will rob you blind and threaten / blackmail you to force an outcome. Not sure why you then would sign a contract with them - because they're not even cheap!

Go elsewhere. Save your time and money. I'll be making a complaint to Ofgem regarding their conduct as bribery, blackmail and threatening behaviour is simply unacceptable.

Such a dodgy company, poor service, mis-sold me a contract with a higher unit rate then stated, why has ofgem not closed this company down.

Try getting away from them,. We took over a business and are legally free to use who we liked, but they kept blocking the leave saying they did not believe we were new owners. Only got sorted by using a solicitor and the ombudsman through citizen's advice.

Absolute crooks have ripped us off thousands. Made up a reading to start with I found this out from my previous supplier even though we submitted a reading then put the prices up as and when they felt like it and charged us 2300 to leave there supply. They lie and steal i woukd avoid this company at all costs. We took it to the ombusman and apparently all legal they need to be stopped . I'd like to know of anyone that has been taken seriously by the ombusman with this company

Wish i could give 0 stars worst company in the uk without a doubt. Avoid at all costs even if it means paying more which it probably wont.

The loose all correspondence they never receive your meter readings and the brokers, which according to BES are not connected to them but a quick google search seems to indicate otherwise, lie to get you to sign up.

The quicker this company is closed down the better for everyone.

I am two months into trying to deal with this company, an office at the back of a football stadium, says it all. I have just taken over a business who have been using this company, I cant stress more in saying please do not use them. DO not go into contract with them you will never get out of it.

Cancelled my contract as I vacated the premises I was hiring and closed my business, gave them plenty of notice and gave them the landlord and letting agents info for the future tenant (as obviously I didn t have any contact with them) yet they continue to send me bills and threaten me with paying!!! Useless

B.E.S utilities is shocking, Very very bad company that has been investigated by often/trading standards and found guilty and payed some customers money back.

My solicitor on the case now and advising us trading standards /ofgem will pay BES a visit soon , all we will settle for is terminate of contract.

Don t use BES and don t even talk to them on the phone also be careful they use brokers to contact you.
Please google BES and put those words trading standards ofgem police investigation.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid the worst business that we have ever dealt with. Only given 1 star because i had to they do not deserve this.

Avoid like the plague. We moved into a property and tried to change gas supplier away from these. They blocked the move 3 times by refusing to get back to our new supplier. They stuck us on the highest rate possible and are trying to charge More

I had a few with problems with BES Telecom when I moved my number to new premises, delays and invoicing issues, however after speaking to a Manager (Ryan) who went away and looked at everything in detail it was all sorted out to my satisfaction, so all good eventually
Staff are always professional and friendly, even call you back when they say they will with updates!

They put me on next door's meter which was a high consumption nightclub. The bill ran up into the 000s. I went through the ombudsman but was totally useless / pointless.
(I have unequivocal evidence of all of this and was proven by the ombudsman.. For what that's worth).
Literal daylight robbery. Don't nt touch these guys with a barge pole.
