This is the worst company ever existed! I've been forced to use them due to a contract from the previous owner, unfortunately!!!! Customer service is lazy, incompetent and rude, management is the same! Avoid waste time and money with them!!! They still own me a refund, and I have never seen it! Absolute joke of a company. They emailed me in AUGUST stating that I owed thousands in gas and electric from Jan-Sept 2020. I left the property in Feb 2019. They asked for evidence that was provided and it was ignored. After another call they then told me it was a final bill?! When they agree that I left 10

I ll be registering a complaint after your 3 business days for a call is now 7 with no sign of a call. I can get the ball rolling then with OFGEM and the ombudsman then. BES utilities called me and told me pretending to be Scottish power and told me I was unable to get the electric through them due to credit rating being low as I've just opened my own business. Then I was told I would have to go through with BES who would be the only company who would give me a contract. I was then transferred to someone at BES who went through the contract with me over the phone and accepted there and then.
About an hour later I was called by Scottish power to say when the contract would be sent through.
I was scammed over the phone with BES, I have sent a letter to cancel the contract but will see how hard they make it for me to cancel the contract.
Not happy I was scammed into this contract.

Having just moved into an industrial unit, I've been annoyed by multiple telephone calls from this firm. Every time they call, it sounds like a school christmas party going on in the background. Different story from each caller - who obviously doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

Joke of a company. I cannot advise anybody enough to stay away from this company. Avoid like the plague, otherwise you will regret all those wasted hours on the telephone, the harassment and the inexplicable lack of organisation. I gave a security password at least 20 times, each time they either don't log it or just have no kind of organisation or system to store it. Each time I speak to them they ask me again if I would like to set up a security password! This is just the start of how infuriating it is to deal with them. They don't store information, documents nothing and they don't seem to communicate with one another. You will receive 5 or more phone calls each day from them. They are just ridiculous and I can't advise you enough- STAY AWAY!

Overcharging is rife, put you into a longer contract than you agree to. Tell you to give them meter reading (which is fine) then say don't worry about giving us another thats all we needed, then proceed to charge you estimated rates for not providing meter readings. Overcharged my shop during the UK lockdown period when we were closed for 4 months. Absolutely disgusting company, no matter what they tell you they are not the cheapest at all when you add on all the surprise extra charges.

Fantastically stupid employees and company.
Trying to change suppliers away from these muppets was an experience I truly hated. Having taken on a new lease and wanting to change to my own preferred supplier was a truly awful experience.
I was called at least twice daily, I have blocked almost 10 numbers and they continued to call from new numbers. Te staff are arrogant, rude, aggressive and lie.

I have been trapped by this company for almost 8 years! if i could give them zero stars i would, customer service is ZERO! They would not deal with me because my name apparently was not on my own account it was a member of my staffs even though i had been paying the bill for 8 years and i'm the sole director at companies house. they blocked me moving to british gas about 6 times. Terrible company to deal with. They have already been fined by ofgem. I was lucky in that they had to hand back my contract due to court action taken out . My advice...do not pay their invoice until they give you a detailed breakdown of their invoice and once they have( it takes a while) do not pay it and query their breakdown. Again it takes a while for their reply..Keep on querying their replies even though they threaten to cut off supplies. This process for me went on for roughly 6 months. Keep all documents and the moment you spot something that is not correct, stop paying and let them take you to court.
Do not touch this company, even if you have a 300ft barge pole.

I left business premises 2 months ago, there are new tenants in the building and yet they are still billing me.
It's takes 40mins plus to get through to anyone on the phone which you pay for and once you're there it can take up to an hour and a half to be told they can't do anything.......
Or worse fill out yet another form. Told all will be fine, to discover a week later everything is exactly the same.........

Have used BES Utilities for 7+ years been okay of sorts. Checked our invoices over the last several months and BANG they have been ripping us off.

Phoned and spoke to Billy who sounded like he d swallowed a tank full of Helium and he told me we are in a 5 year contract recorded on the phone .
I asked for proof and he said he would email over an attachment with the recording. Now they have frozen my account so I can t see my invoices and I m going to call Watchdog and see our solicitor . Don t use this Company they are crooks.
These CLOWNS took over the wrong gas meter in my property. An ERRONEOUS TRANSFER. They admit the mistake after months of arguments. They still take money every month from my account.
Every time I call they say they will call back and never do.
Today. I will turn off the gas to all of the flats upstairs I've been paying for.

In my 30 years dealing with utilities companies, the majority of whom are institutionally useless, I have never come across a company as shocking as BES Utilities. I have already wasted hours of my life extracting myself from this outfit (having inherited them through a business purchase) so I'm not going to waste more telling the story. I can however summarise the experience in two words, which are... CROOKS & AVOID!

I was called by Action Energy, a BES agent, when I moved my business premises and after giving my electricity meter number was told that my existing supplier cannot supply that type of meter. I was then given BES as the best deal available. This I took although it was considerably higher than what I was previously paying. I spoke to my previous energy supplier when paying my final bill and mentioned about the meter. Guess what.... of course they can supply the meter!! I spoke to BES and basically was told tough, you agreed to the contract. BES use agents that tell lies to get your business. Stay away from this company.
SCAM lm not with this company and they sent me a bill. When l asked for my contract or meter readings they said they would not give me it! Avoid any contact with this company at all costs hence 95 1 star reviews just on google!

We recently inherited this horrible supplier when we purchased our new company office. We found this out as a representative from the company came to our new office with a disconnection letter as the previous tenant ran up bill and left without paying. We submitted all the required documents immediately via email for but some reason they still cut our power off. We have x20 staff who now cannot work and we are loosing business by the minute. I receive phone calls daily from their sales team trying to lock me into a new contact to speed up the change of tennacy process...... (Essentially blackmailing us to get the power back on) Funny that as when you want to sort more important issues out they choose to ignore you. I have now reported them to ofgem while I wait for them to put the power back on and allow us to switch supply. We are now 7 days without a power supply.
Avoid this awful company at all costs. BES Utilities and their so called "3rd party" brokers tricked me into a 5 year contract by lying and impersonating the account manager at my energy provider by name, which I had foolishly told them thinking it would get them off my

One of the worst companies I ve ever dealt with. Constantly lying and going back on their word. Saying we were in contract when we weren t so they could continue ripping us off with their outrageous prices. We only found out that we weren t in contract when a different department called us the day after we tried to leave for the third time asking if we want to renew as we re out of contract. Since we ve left, we re paying less and receive better customer service.

I have been wondering was is happening for several months now, but after reading other reviews it makes more sense. Online portal hasn't worked for several months, and bills keep being generated wrong. Smart meter installed never works. I was new to business when they roped me in a few years ago, it's a shame companies like this exist - they telephoned me pretending to be the broker but weren't. Every 6 months their prices increase. The WORST Company Ever. They dont give a dam about their customers, they DO NOT like to communicate or do correspondence. i am chasing my refund from almost 2 months now. If they need any document they do not tell their customers and delay, customer has to chase them every day to check the progress or if they need anything. also they dont have a method where they maintain notes which every staff can check, so you have to give documents again and again everytime you ring them. Their Google Rating speaks for themselves.

entering a contract for phone and broadband, when they realised we were already in a contract with BT for the broadband they went ahead and took the phone line, we now are tied to BES for 4 year with a very hefty cost to get out. they do nothing apart from call BT if there is a line error!!

Wow 1 is too high. Well over a thousand pounds in credit and they zero the balance -maybe a bit sneaky ? Agree a new standing order at zero and they still want to charge more. Communication is extremely difficult with long delays via email and a premium rate phone line which takes forever. Have updated contact details multiple times but reverts back to original. have zero faith in this company. If you have a problem make sure it is lodged as a complaint at the earliest opportunity then you can fall back on The Ombudsman
Absolutely vile company who prey on small businesses and the tie them in to never ending contracts with very cloudy terms & conditions. I took over a tenancy of a property and these were the suppliers attached; they refused to allow me to leave their company despite the fact it wasn't me who entered to contract with them - they claimed the premises was under contract, not the tenant.
I then had months and months of problems before my business went bust and I had to leave the premises. They continually overcharged, and not by a few pounds, but by thousands. They billed me for the previous tenants outstanding bills, refused to provide me with clear bills, cut off the energy supply twice and then charged me hundreds of pounds to reconnect it, even though I had done nothing to permit the energy being cut off. I couldn't access my unit for a month as the premises was operated by an electric shutter, so no energy, no entry. However they still billed me for energy when the unit clearly wasn't even accessed. My unit then sat empty for 4 months when I gave up and closed the business. I was not operating and trying to get out of lease and other contracts; they charged me phenomenally for energy usage even though I hadn't stepped foot on the property for months. I eventually got out of my property lease 4 months ago and they are still trying to bill me for usage even though I did everything they told me to to close my energy account with them and transfer to the property's new tenant.
The call handlers and rude, they make up terms and conditions as they go on; I just got off the phone with BES now and one of the call handlers tried to insist that I was still responsible for the energy even though I have provided them evidence that my lease has ended and supplied them with the landlord details. Legally, I have absolutely no responsibility for the energy but they will charge whoever they can.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY ARE PARTLY THE REASON MY BUSINESS WENT BUST AS I JUST COULDN'T KEEP PAYING THEM ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNTS OF MONEY AND HAVING MY ENERGY CUT OFF WHEN THEY FELT LIKE IT.

I could sign up with them to get a normalish rate, though if I wanted to change supplier they said that would take at least 6 weeks, more like 8. Awful company,they still call my old premises and ask for me, useless customer service, they want your photo id, solicitor letters and even a hair and plasma sample to leave their company, take my advice, YOU WILL NOT SAVE MONEY BY STARTING A DIRECT DEBIT, this means they will more or less take what they want and be completely incompetent when claiming it back.

They used rogue agents to keep making phone calls to the shop to steal the energy accounts. They tricked a shop staff into signing a contract with them over the phone and took the energy accounts over without knowing who the shop owner is.
I have called dozens of times arguing about this, but they will never ever release the energy accounts. Now I am tied to their 4 year contract with expensive rates.
If you hear BES from a cold call, they will say whatever they want to threat you, pursaude you, trick you into signing a contract with them. You must tell them not to call back and hang up the phone. Otherwise you would end up in the same misery.
