Will lie & deceive to get you to sign a contract. DO NOT USE!! I wiull be taking my complaint to the Energy Ombudsman.

I m two years in on a contract that BES fraudulently set up for me. My bills are approximately 30% higher than they were previously with British Gas. I was promised a smart meter and a module to monitor my usage. Didn t happen. One more year to go to be free of this unscrupulous company. Shame on all those who need to work there.

Horrendous. Possibly the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Near impossible to make contact with, I ve currently been on the phone for over 35 mins dealing with this issue. Far from ideal as a primary health care clinic.

BES are repeatedly blocking my company from leaving despite the contract ending a month ago and notice given. This has been going on for over a month. A common tactic to extort money from companies. Trust pilot reviews are very telling. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SUPPLIER.

Nothing but trouble. Takes ages to get through to someone. Take more than the actual bill but never refund. They are absolutely shocking. Expecting me to pay for usage when my shop was empty for 12 weeks. All discussed before closing with no problem so I was told. Hounded and hounded me.even renewed my contract for 4 years without consent. Keep well away. This firm should not be trading. staff very unprofessional in the dept department if I could name u would. This company put a letter through our new business...

This company put a letter through our new business claiming they supplied the old tenant which is false. They managed to get our phone number. Was told we have a 12 month lease and the contract came through today saying 5 years. So this will be cancelled straight away. Glad i done a quick google search off these cowboys

It's looks like ,they are that fake and con
,they can't not take money from anybody.
When you are new tenant,they add the last tenant debt to yours .,..
Walk away from them even if you have contract with them,they never took anyone to the court.
Because ,they know who they are .

Extremely poor, they were the previous tenants supplier, tried to coerce me
into signing a contract by stating that if I did not sign with them they would charge me 600% more that standard tariff due to having no contract but would back date it to standard tariff if I signed a contract, which I refused.
They blocked my provider switch even though as a micro business they are not allowed to under Ofgem regulations (see deemed contract).
DO NOT ENTERTAIN.

The worst utilities company ever!!!! PLEASE steer well away from these fraudsters.
Firstly, the salesperson will lie to you, telling you they are really cheap and also have excellent customer service.

Once I realised the error of them charging me for three meters, whereas, I only used one. I complained, for them to tell me it will cost several hundred pounds for an engineer to confirm that I only use one meter.
After I agreed to this, they then tell me that I had to prove I only have one meter NOT them, therefore no engineer will be sent out.
Lastly, I paid an electrician to inspect the electric supply who reported that in actual fact I was only using one meter and I should not be liable for meters supplying other premises.
But, BES disconnected my supply and put me out of business as well as putting a large amount of debt on my company name. Now, I'm so depressed with all this that I had to seek medical advise to help me cope with the depression and anxiety caused.
Please, please, help yourself by staying AWAY from these cooperate fraudsters who will leave you seeking medical expertise.
Sorry BES but you are totally full of #@#/*/.

Sheer Incompetence below Zero, Involving me to the extant BES did must be illegal and against human right.
Even any investigators will not do as they realise it is simply not needed.
I am the land lord and had nothing to do with BES or what my tenant chooses or uses as utility supplier company.
The BES SAGA started, as soon as my new tenant tried to transfer the supply of the energy under his name.
My previous tenant changed to BES, a company that I never ever heard of before, it was not a privilege knowing of this company as it made my life and that of my new tenant hell, cased me and my new tenant a lot of ill feelings.
The irony of it all, at the time the previous tenant changed from? to BES, I was not aware nor being contacted by BES for any approval, therefore the process didn't involve the Land Lord, I was never asked for any documents or my date of birth and photo ID and Land register and solicitor involvement and filling forms and other documents and full lease and E signature, the only thing I was not asked by BES was a blood sample or DNA.
What was shocking was below the low level below zero services provided by BES from every angle and every corner, except one lady called Tara (after nearly 3 months, to sort out tenancy transfer)
Over the top process, slow and it is a total joke with all the explanations and the none sense and the baseless explanations provided, it is still rubbish as simple as that (I am the Land Lord not the tenant who has a contract with you).
The photo ID's requirement is not appropriate and not needed mainly when at the end of the day you had all needed official documents and contacted by the solicitor? proving to you I was the landlord, case with me should be closed at that stage, but no you like to make my life a misery (for that yes you are outstanding) and stepping over your boundaries and requesting a photo ID??? what a lot of rubbish.
All reasoning is simply baseless excuses.

The Change of the tenancy department is a phantom, doesn't exist it so bad I can't even review or rate.
This imaginary department you can't talk or chat with anyone or even to get updates is like trying to reach the white house to speak to the president, no call back to the customer no information, best I can describe them is useless.
However just to be fair, I can state that TARA, was a great surprise and a special one, what a gift, what an asset, how competent and very professional and honest (Thank you very much again). She is one out of maybe five people I chatted with and talked to, therefore the rate can easily be calculated.
TARA, you are a 7-star customer service individual, without you I don't believe my involvement would have ended, to do a simple transfer of tenancy to my tenant as per BES weird process (I am still puzzled to why BES had to involve me and my solicitor to the extent they did???) the whole saga started from the second week of March 2020 and did not end until the beginning of June 2020??
However last week (OCT-20) I was shocked again when someone from BES contacted me to ask me for my passport copy to transfer the contract to the new tenant, I was so unhappy I had to call a Heart Doctor to try to control my heart rate.
What a joke, BES must be banned operating in the UK why not around the world.
The SAGA continues? hope the top management CEO, CTO basically the owners or a C level manager can contact me to stop this harassments.

Horrible experience. If you are thinking of going to BES you should read the google reviews, most reviews are complaining about similar situations to mine. Worst energy supplier I have ever encountered. AVOID! They rip people off and don t care about customers. They have no customer data protection laws so be careful when you give them your contact details. Even when it is their fault you have to pay. They only care about taking money from clients instead of giving a good Service and to deal with situations which they Cause.
I m glad my contract is ending soon so I can leave this company.

Since taking over a hotel I chose to leave BES, they are basically harassing me with phone calls trying to get me to stay, and have sent someone to the door. None of these people "work" for BES but all work for advisory companies that work on behalf of BES. They are now trying to delay the transfer of my account to another company and are charging me extortionate emergency tariff rates while they procrastinate. Ombudsman here I come...

I am paying huge amounts to get out of the contract as my bills have trebled with them. Read other reviews!! Horrendous and taken huge amounts of our time to try and resolve. I only give 1 star as it not possible to give none. My contract with BES finished in October, I have been trying to give termination since April this year. It is now November and after several assurances that the termination has be accepted, they will still not release the meter keeping me on a unit rate of 20p. With every objection means another 45 minute wait time and to be lied to again, disgusting the way they treat customers and are nothing short of rip off merchants. For your own sanity avoid at all costs. Either get ripped off or spend an hour on 50p a minute customer service line, to be lied to or if you do start getting somewhere the staff will drop the call meaning another 45 minute wait. They just make it as difficult as possible to leave, hoping people eventually give up and just keep paying there extortionate rates.

Took nearly 3 months to complete a change of tenancy asking for more and more information, communication between departments is comical. Never have I been so please to never deal with a company again

The worst Company I've ever dealt with please DO NOT USE THEM. Ripped us off from the beginning and I am 100% sure over the 2 years we were with them we've overpaid. It took them 1 month to close our account when we sold the business and owed us money. They don't tell you they owe you money or refund it unless you ask for it. Then you get told it will take 28 days. BES you need lessons in customer relations

These are nasty bunch of con artists, who also own and run their business from Fleetwood town FC, avoid them like the plague!!!

Every time my router goes down you cannot get through, promised call backs and a very low level of tech knowledge should your be unlucky enough to actually speak to someone. Phone and broadband arrived 6 weeks late to start with and it's been horrible since then. AVOID!

Diabolical, I took over my current premises and they were the existing provider, I changed to my existing supplier but it took an age. They were totally disorganised, could not get anything right and dragged the whole process out, I had to constantly chase them, my contact at British Gas said that he had not come accross as bad a company as this before. Then 8 months later, BES Utilities employed a debt collection agency to collect funds that I had never owed, having never had an account with them. Needless to say, they are useless in this as well and I will need to seek legal representation. Do not go anywhere near this company, look at Matins Money Tips for unbiased advice on utility suppliers.

Horrible supplier and company to deal with - avoid at all cost. Mistakes. Sporadic billing - you waste time checking the bills that suddenly triple. Do not fall for the pushy salesmen on the phone, who are preassuring you into signing with them because you will be 'out of contract' and will have very high fees etc.
Very delayed communication, they forget your request for smart meter appointment for example and you don't realise that's what happened so you keep waiting; or they would not come back to you for several days (after promissing to call right back). Most importantly - they are happy to keep collecting money for the same invoice SEVERAL TIMES - so you need to keep checking and waste time sorting it out, when nobody seems to have a clue how things run in their organisation! There seems to be no way of stopping a payment that was scheduled AFTER YOU ALREADY PAID IT so they want you to sort it out with your bank (as if you do not have the business to run as well) and they still keep trying to collect again and again!

Im only leaving 1 star because no stars is not an option! This has to be the worst company i have ever used. I have been trying to do a change of tenancy for over 5 months. I had to track down my previous landlord for them and put him on the phone to them myself to tell them my business had changed address. This still wasnt enough and they continued to take out the direct debit until i cancelled it as to pay for an address no longer attached to my business through the accounts would be fraud to then get sent debt letters. They call every day to be told the same thing and have 7 change of tennancy forms sent over. Do not use this company unless you have hours each day to spend on the phone getting nowhere.

I would strongly recommend not to even answer the phone as they wanted to provide me with the quote and forced me to enter into the contract with illegal practices. Advice: PUT THE PHONE DOWN when you hear anyone from BES it will really save you a lot of unnecessary hassle.

AVOID AT ALL COST!
I'd rather burn my sofa to get warm and buy a candle for illumination.

It took 6 months for engineer to install a meeter.




On top of that they will add another 100kwhs estimate to your month's reading IGNORING actual values.

Complaining, reasoning with them has ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT.
Got Ombudsman decision to put things right, BUT still they send me a bill I was appealing from August to January.
I wish best of luck to anyone, who is reading this after joining them.
And people who are thinking to join, but reading this instead: you truly are smart(unlike me), reading reviews, before when picking your supplier.

I have reported them to the Financial Conduct Authority. I encourage others to do the same, this is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
First of all, took advantage of us being a bit naive and put us in a 5 year contract. 6 months before it ended, harassed us to renew and when we didn't they hiked up the prices. The final months bills were ridiculously high. Then they actually fraudulently put incorrect information on the invoices and put that customer provided meter readings when they just guessed ending up with another high bill when the final reading wasn't the same as their guesstimates. Since then their customer service has been terrible, they don't read or understand correspondence and maliciously harass you for payments that you have offered to pay them, but they are too stupid to take them even though you have provided the bank details they requested.
STAY WELL AWAY! 'Crooks' is not strong enough.

Have you running in circles chasing your tail and spending a small fortune on calling them. I ve provided so many details to try and cancel my contract and their not having it. I ll take my chances with ignoring them. After reading the other reviews it seems like lots more people will be having to do this anyway. I ve never left a review before but after just wasting TWO HOURS of my time this morning alone on the issue in the middle of a work day I m beyond fuming. Full of S*it, AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Dont usually leave reviews but this company is a new low, smooth talking salesmen get you in the door (knowing you dont even have the lease yet) 30 calls a day asking you to take a contract even though you already have.
Did not make aware that there was no cooling off period for commercial contracts, costumer service is none existent says office hours are 9 -5.30 but don't take calls after 5pm.

My power is not connected sent all details they request told power will be on that day, guess what ? Still no power past from pillar yo post for days. Spoke to one guy seemed helpful but said i will pass you to the correct department knowing it was closed.

Spoke to somone else who can answer calls till half 5 but cant do anything seemed gleeful that i didnt know about the cooling off period.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

I WILL NOW BE CONTACTING THE OMBUDSMEN AS THIS COMPANY IS CLEARLY BENDING SOME RULES.

7 PEOPLE TOLD ME AFTER I TOOK THE CONTRACT TO AVOID 2 HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND LOST THERE BUSSINESS DUE TO TIGHT BUDGETS AND LOSING 3 WEEKS WORK.

I put one star so that I could leave a review, it should be minus five. This is the second time of having to deal with BES, both times after tenants have left properties. They are awful. They use the approach that you have no option but to go with them. They speak in riddles so that you sometimes think you are actually dealing with an actual energy supplier. Read all the reviews on here and be warned. I cannot imagine how they are allowed to trade. It s an appalling reflection on the state of the energy industry and its watchdog/regulators that this company are still operating.

Been trying to get out from this Unfair contract with this Company for nearly two years now, they are threatened to cut our power and been harassing us every single day. So stressed with this problem and doesn t know how to end this matter. Does anyone know how to deal with this BES company? Please help me!

Their price just keeps rising every 6 months, taking money more and more when we re still in credits, etc...

Worse of all is, I wasn t the person who agreed to sign the contract with them over the phone, it s was one of the staff who picked up the phone and got tricked by the sales man to say Yes to all of the things that he said.

Absolutely fuming. I was manipulated and tricked into signing a contract with them by one of their brokers. Then when my present supplier disputed, and I told them three times I was staying with my present supplier they have gone ahead and taken over anyway. Absolutely awful deceiving company!

Don't get into credit will not refund me my money, basically stolen 2000 pounds.
Been lied to by staff and manager about refund date on numerous occasions
Amazing how this company is allowed to trade
Got ofgem involved now
Before BES gives me we are sorry to hear that you are not happy with blah blah blah
Look into the account and try to justify your actions.
