Great food and really friendly service. Always go a few times a year because of this.

I have been coming here for many years and the present owners really do seem to be turning this back into a great pub and restaurant.
The food is not budget but the portions are large and I was served in good time by polite staff. There is a very good selection of beers and spirits.
The best thing about this pub at this time of year is the outside space. Loads of seating including a semi enclosed area with grape vines overhanging. Lots for the kids to do and an amazing view across the south downs. There is also a very large walker friendly car park which is a great starting point for some of the best walks in the south.

The worst pub/restaurant I have been to in a very very long time; avoid this place.

The beer wasn't great, the selection was poor and the food was sub-par.



They added an extra meal to our group of 22 causing a lot of confusion but when questioned the waitress actually already knew it should have been removed and she hasn't done it.

Highly disappointed.

Lovely characterful pub with friendly bar staff, let down by really terrible service. Food took two hours to arrive, made worse by no communication. My first bad review but needs to be said. What a shame.

Fabulous! Lovely food at a very good price, friendly and welcoming staff. Throughly enjoyed our meal and time at the Berwick Inn, I would highly recommend a visit for a drink and/or a meal.

Just stopped off at the Berwick Inn for lunch in the garden area.. Just so friendly and welcoming. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch as well. Great food.

The food was lovely my whole family enjoyed it, but I ordered the vegan burger as I am vegetarian and there wasn t much else I could have, so when we got our food I realised my burger tasted like a beef burger after I had eaten half of it! I looked at my sisters burger and hers looked more vegan than mine and there was cheese in mine and a vegan obviously can t have cheese. I am new to being vegetarian and I was not expecting the lack of attention from the server in not knowing which meal was which but also when we called her back and explained , she didn t recognise the severity of her mistake as she told us to just switch the burgers round after we had eaten half of them. Two more Burgers were ordered and we were offered free deserts for me and my sister, which was nice but, we had to wait another 45 minutes. Also my grandads burger was missed altogether that he had paid for, so he had to wait another 45minutes for his food!

Lovely pub only stayed for a shirt while buffet service is good wine was excellent.

Brilliant place and always nice to come back here. A few gains and and a few losses a bit like the election bit overall a lovely little night out (early night 'cos we are getting old). Make very welcome by the staff especially a lovely young lad from Limerick.

Would not visit again my wife and I both had lamb rump and it was so undercooked it was not eatable potatoes were cold , we thought we would finish off with sherry trifle also a no go big disappointment .
The only plus was the waitress so nice and friendly and apologetic for our meal if it wasn t for her it would be a NO STAR rating .

Pie and a pint on weds 12 quid. Posh looking way it's laid out but meat wasn't great in the pie. Bland and hard. Bar staff and punters nice but if I want food I'm not drawn to go back based on that. Very pricey considering the std of the food supplied.

Good food. Nice beer garden. Nice laid back atmosphere, so well worth a train ride to and from Ebo rather than being stuck in some of the pits there.

Best steak I have ever had here! Only been here twice so need to try the rest on the menu but I imagine it will be amazing too as the Chefs know what they are doing!
Staff are the friendliest I've ever come across a restaurant to have. They are helpful, efficient and go out of their way to offer the best service!
It has a lovely / cosy / warm / content atmosphere to it too.

Shame about the pudding prices but the cheesecake is super yummy! Not as heavy as I was anticipating!

3-year anniversary update as I'm now a self-confessed local! Great atmosphere, awesome - and extremely attractive - staff, very good food and all the beers you would want to drink! Don't come here - I'm keeping it all for myself! :)

We had a really excellent lunch here. The place was buzzing and very busy, but the service was attentive and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly.

There are a good selection of 'areas' e.g. bar, restaurant, courtyard, front and back garden, playground, shop, cafe, and if you're interested in trains, it is adjacent to Berwick station, with extremely regular trains passing and stopping.

We've previously had a midweek lunch of paninis, which were tasty, and today we had a full-on Sunday lunch, which was excellent. Portion sizes were generous without being ridiculous, the veg was freshly cooked and firm (not reheated mush), there were plenty of fresh condiments, and the meat was good quality. The children's menu was also good - again the food tasted freshly made rather than shop-bought, notably the very tasty cheesy pasta. The kids' burger was a proper grilled quarter pounder, and properly delicious!

Again the desserts were very good. We had fantastic, light, warm chocolate brownies, tiramisu, ice cream and mousse. The mouse was one of those very rich and heavy ones, but was improved with the addition of some cherry coulis.

There's loads of parking, and the gardens are big enough to seat plenty of people, with there still being room for the kids to run around. There's also a small kids' playground.

We thoroughly recommend.

Stayed here for Nye. Most amazing food by local chef and a good party. Gatsby themed.

I had a very enjoyable drink at the Berwick last Sunday. Staff were very efficient and attentive on a busy afternoon. The food looked very good, and next time I will be dining!

quite a nice pub food was ok, however, it took ages, and I do mean ages, for it to arrive, had the roast beef with seasonal veg, roasts seriously overcooked couldn't cut them and veg seriously undercooked, I think the word is raw? Add to that everybodys' meal arriving at different time. Not impressed won't go again.

Friendly staff, lovely outdoor seating in both sunny and shaded spots, lovely indoor decor. This was a random stop for us and I hope to go back again should we travel in that direction!

The cafe served me a delicious granola full of fruit and nuts and even had soya milk! The staff were so friendly and I enjoyed sitting out in the garden.

Was always a nice, well appointed pub, but is now doing the whole "Corona" pub thing very well too.

Had an amazing meal here last week, I can put my food away but only just managed the steak pie! No room for any more meat in there, it was rammed full! Wife had fish and chips, that was equally as impressive, chips were cooked to perfection

Brilliant pub. Went here with a Groupon voucher bought for us for Christmas. Had never been before, it is reasonably local but not somewhere we would usually venture to. I have to say food was exceptional and we will return. Many thanks
