Food was good not great. Atmosphere was amazing. The reason I won't go back is we were rushed, really rushed through our meal. We had a 5:30 seating with the next at 7:30. We were out in one hour. Some romantic dinner. All in all it was not worth the money paid.

This time we ate in the bar. Nice decor made to attenuate the noise. Reception was great as was the service. Excellent guidance from our waitress, Christine.

I started off with foie gras, a favorite of mine. I found it excellent, served with apples and a very tasty French toast. We then had duck breast, delightfully cooked and seasoned.

My guest finished with cheese cake that she said was excellent.

I cannot say enough about The Bernards Inn. Andrea, Andrea and Elizabeth were THE BEST. Everyone was passionate, hard working, and wanting to please us at every turn. Seriously. They all went above and beyond the call of duty without batting an eye. When Andrea found out I hadn't eaten yet, magically food appeared and she was feeding it to me. They copied my program/invitation design for the menus. The cake was a dang masterpiece. I asked for an iceberg and they grew me custom blue crystals. WHAT. My mom is a former catering manager and is VERY hard to please, because she knows the business so well, and she's very picky. She was BLOWN AWAY. Food was amazing, service was great. I've been told by a lot of my guests it was the best wedding they've ever been to -- AND I BELIEVE THEM. Thinking of booking The Bernards Inn? Do. It.

I came here for my birthday dinner. Apparently while a wedding is going on, they have a limited menu. Very limited indeed!! Service was below adequate. My lobster roll appetizer was tasty. The crab cake dinner was more like an appetizer, sufficient for a 4 year old s snack!!!
Presentation was nice but took FOREVER.......

Dinner in the main dining room was nice, but I'm not sure if was 100% worth the price. Service was slow, and although the restaurant was full, I expect better from what should be a top notch experience. In weekend evenings there is a pianists, which is a nice touch.

The meal was delicious with plenty of food in the portions and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is perfect because in the room we were seated we could hear the music but the were only a few tables so we could actually hear ourselves talk to one another. The pianist (there every Saturday night) in the bar played all kinds of music from many decades but as the evening progressed, he played more music that we loved (Billy Joel, rock favorites) singing many of the songs and his voice was pretty good! A VERY enjoyable birthday evening!

I only wish I could've stayed longer! The hotel is adorable and historic, the staff is so kind and attentive, and the amenities (from the toiletries to the free cookies) were great! A couple things to bear in mind if they matter to you: 1) I'm not much of a TV person but I did notice the set in my room was pretty small, and 2) the room doesn't have a fan so if you like air movement while you sleep I'd prepare for that. Even so, the stay was great and if I'm in the area again I know my first choice!

I have eaten at the restaurant and bar multiple times over the years. The food and service were above expectation. The atmosphere is upscale but light and fun. All ages enjoying a night out. Beautiful background piano music and quiet conversation.

Amazing food, great service. It would be more professional if dietary restrictions were listed on the menu instead of the server going through a "probably this, maybe that, but I'll check with the chef" process.

This restaurant is inside a historical hotel, with great ambiance and service that keeps loyal customers keep coming back to stay there and/or dine there. I have been there few times myself, all for business dinner, and I always had a pleasant time and good food.

The restaurant is not a huge space but I think it is enough for the area. The main dining room has black and white tiles, creating that old-fashion feel to it, with simple furniture. They don t have crazy amount of tables on top of each other, so there are good amount of space in between each table. It is nice to dine in such relaxing and comfortable setting. But, since there is limited number of tables, reservation is highly recommended.

The bartender of the evening, Neia was wonderful, she made awesome cocktails for me, and made sure to wait for me to get my camera ready before she made the cocktails. So sweet! Their food is also great, I usually have some kind of seafood, but my boss insisted on getting their chicken, which turned out to be a winner. Everything is made with great care, all very delicious.

We were well taken care of by the servers, they were efficient and polite, do not bother you unless you need something, as this is more of a relaxing atmosphere. At the end, they brought out trays of complimentary sweets. On what else? Silver tier trays. It had chocolate, truffles, and red velvet cakes. They are a miniature size, as you can see them compared to eager fingers reaching out for them. They are very good too, if you are not wanting to have a whole dessert, but just a taste of sweet something, then you can just wait for these to come out instead of ordering a dessert. Excellent and delicious dinner. Very friendly and accommodating service. We were there celebrating a special occasion and were looking forward spending some along time in the room.
The room was nice and clean. Everything would have been amazing if it wouldnt be for the temperature in the room and a clogged draine in the shower.
The room was 82 to 83 degrees at any given time. We had 2 open windows all throughout the night. We called downstairs a few times but the temperature never got adjusted and a thermostat in the room was locked. Unfortunately all the experience was completely destroyed with a very uncomfortable night and inability to properly shower in the morning even though the inn offered a free Breakfast:(.

The catering staff at the Bernards Inn was so rude and aggressive over a misunderstanding in the course of the planning of a 40th Anniversary party that they ruined the event for my family. After we were literally yelled at and insulted, we were then held hostage, not only for the deposit money, but for the cost of the entire event. They were unwilling to compromise and unwilling to stand by the word of their staff. They either misunderstood our needs or willfully misrepresented them for the event. In either case there was no accountability at any level of management. The antagonism we experienced reached the level of malice. I couldn't give a more strongly negative review. There are fifteen people who will never go to this establishment again.

I'm definitely not much of a 'fine diner', but I decided to take the GF to get dinner here for her birthday. Absolutely 5 stars all around. Private, quiet table. Food was delicious and way more upscale than I could ever hope to fully enjoy. The staff were the best, the chef sent out small tastings for free, and the whole experience was top notch. They also sent out a beautiful chocolate mousse/cake/ice cream dessert thing for my girl, for her birthday. Want even more? The entire staff also signed a card for her, and presented it with the dessert and a momento (some cool little branded trinket I can't recall now). To me, that's going above and beyond. And yes, you will pay for that. Expect to spend at least a few hundred on a full course dinner with amenities. In my opinion, well worth every penny. Dress nice!

The staff is absolutely delightful and the inn itself feels historical and is beautifully set up. The restaurant has the best steaks but the sides were kind of bland. The hospitality was superb. I didn't like how close the train was but it does stop running around midnight.

My wife and I got married at the Inn ten years ago and had a wonderful reception. We have been back on numerous occasions, especially on our anniversary. The staff always makes us feel special and the food is simply divine. On our latest excursion, I had the lump crabmeat with beets, the lobster bisque, and the falafel (one of the chef's daily specials... It's not always on the menu). I thoroughly enjoyed each in its own way. The unusual, but delicious, combinations of tastes within each plate are why we like to go there. It's definitely on the pricey side, but we'll worth it from time to time. I'm sure we'll be back!
