Benihana Review

I had a reservation for 9pm, but there was a delay of 1 hour, so we decided to go to another restaurant.

In Love with this place! Best service I've ever experienced from a server! The chef put on an amazing show and the atmosphere was so relaxing! My wife and I will be back very soon!

Got the watermelon punch bowl, expensive but delicious. Food was good but our chef didn't seem into it... We were the first table of the day so I get not being into it but I feel like we missed out out on the overall experience.

Excellent choice on (sushi)but, if you are not waiting for a table... Those (hibachi)the wait could be longer that what you think. But, its good!!

Very hot evening. Restaurant having air conditioning issues. Yhey tried to seat us in a space with no air-conditioning.Marginally cool. Food is fresh but excessively salty( too much soy sauce on everything). Nothing wrong with soy sauce in a Japanese restaurant but in moderation

Pricey.....but Amazing experience! It was my birthday on Valentine's day. The fish bowl drink was tasty.

I personally love Benihana's but this particular day the waiter was very rude he tried to tell us that he doesn't split bills we have to do that on our own which was very unprofessional love the food though but the service kind of suck which is really bad I normally go there very often with friends and family

Old school Japanese bbq, but it reminds me of my childhood, and tastes good!

Went there 3 time within a year. This time the food was way to less and the prices went up and wait time until we seat actually eat was to long

Great ambiance & atmosphere, amazing customer service and most importantly everything that I tasted at this location was phenomenal. I consider myself to be a hard core critic and on a 1 to 10 this place is definitely a 9.

Was really fun because we had some nice people joining our table. If you are an introvert or want to celebrate alone it's difficult because they fill up a table for 9.

One of the best branches of the brand, especially because the site is very spacious and the manager who takes care of the many hibachis are very thoughtful and kind.
Our hibachi man was energetic, skillful in every meal preparation.

Always a great experience when going here , you have to share a hibachi table with other customers if you dont come with a group of 8 ppl , but if you dont you still will have a great time and meet new people ( $$)

It was nice, our waitress was Rachell. She was super nice. The food was good. Well prepared. We ended up at a table with great pol. The wait was a bit hectic, loud and unruly.

The worst restaurant you can go to. Despite having a reservation we did not get a table and in the end after waiting for additional 15 minutes we had to leave

Once you get over speaking to one of the rude female hostesses that takes phone reservations, and arrive, you will enjoy a nice evening dinner. Try not to let the front decks ruin your meal.

The service is very good
But the Manger has very disgusting attitude. He is appalling and made my experience awful

The food is excellent and because they cook in front of you, which is actually a real cooking show, you can smell the food around and it smells crazy good. Price are moderate. Overall succulent food , great show, you gonna spend a great moment.

The chef Bruce Lee (not his real name) was not great in performance and didn't seem to put much effort into his craft. The food was little and we ordered dishes for each individual (9 of us). We were eating and they kept on cleaning up and getting rid of dish and bringing in the check right after desert.

Bottom line:
1. Lack of entertainment
2. Little food
3. Fast service so that they can turn table quickly

Not worth the money. Not what it used to be.

I do like hibachi but am not a fan of Benihana. Unfortunately, it is the only place in NY to get hibachi, so I am forced to dine here ever now and then. If I am going to smell like my dinner for the rest of the evening, I expect good food. Sadly, that is not the case here. Many hibachi restaurants give you noodles and fried rice as part of your meal, Benihana doesn't offer lo mein and charges extra for fried rice. I find that the chefs are not into the "show" that much either. They seem to just go through the motions and don't really interact with the diners that much. The only reason to go here is when its your friend's birthday and they make you, at least they bday person gets a free meal if they register online.

Absolutely love this hibachi spot. The northern locations are different compared to the Florida spots though; however, all are good. Had the lobster tempura sushi and lobster roll. Family had the ocean grill hibachi as well as the chicken one. All came out delicious. Not sure how they choose their seafood but it comes out DELICIOUS every time.

Good food, and awesome stunts. The price could get better, and the staff should stop forcing to tip more. This place is good to celebrate birthdays. Some chefs perform good stunts, while some are not too great. Food id healthy.

The food was not well seasoned. Tasted very bland and I had to sneak the chefs soy sauce for my rice because there isn't any on the table. We paid 100 after tip for 2 people and that is ridiculous for regular meals and disgusting food. They give onions and zucchini for veggies. I'm used to also getting broccoli at least. They went overboard on onions. (It's a cheap veggie) so I think they really are just cheap. My husband asked for extra garlic butter for his meal and the chef agreed but never gave it. We took the food to go and added seasoning at home.

Find another place. I've been to waaaay better and cheaper hibachi joints. Never going back to this location. This was my 2nd time and it has never been a good idea.

Sushi bar was the best! The kama collar bone was so huge and soft on the inside so yummy. Unagi is always a favorite of mine, but they also had this appetizer which was seaweed with shredded mountain potato....I had to have two... ^^"

I remember their fried rice is being some amazing fried rice. The recipe is changed and just mediocre now at best now. Then factor in location and I'll pass much better spots with much better parking scattered on the outskirts of Manhattan

This place is truly wonderful. I have heard about it so I decided to take my girlfriend here on our anniversary. We had a great time. The service here is excellent, and the chef we had was entertaining and very good.

Now the food.... Oh my goodness, this place uses fresh ingredients and great quality meat so of course it tastes AMAZING. We both liked our food, and is fun to watch it being cooked as well. The dipping sauce called "yum yum sauce" by our chef is my favorite.

This place is not expensive at all. I am definitely coming here again.

I go every year twice a year. My birthday on April and my son birthday in May. Can t get enough of this place. The food is amazing. Get more than what you pay for. The chefs are awesome and hilarious. Service is always top notch. They listen to your orders and take allergies very serious.

Even though it took approximately an hour and thirty minutes to grab a table, it was most certainly worth the wait. Both the staff service and food were a delight. Would recommend to a friend and will be coming back!

A complete let down of an establishment. I made a reservation a week in advance and I made it on time to an overcrowded reception area. Was told that I would have to wait a minute. One minute turns to ten minutes which turns into half an hour. While kindly waiting I got a margarita from the bar which turned out to be the worst margarita of my life. After just a sip you couldn't pay me to finish that awful $20 rip off. I come back to visit the receptionist, who obliviously forgot to tell me that the wait time would have to be over an hour! There was absolutely no reason for the receptionist to not be honest with me from the beginning. Instead of showing common courtesy and an understanding of their customer's time this franchise figured that it can just cost on by piggybacking of the reputation of the hard working individuals who originated the company. I took my business to Flame and I regretted not going to Flame sooner :(

Unfortunately we cannot know inside. It was under renovation. The exterior is classic.

Poorly managed in house, front desk needs to berplace w better staff. Seating was stupid made us wait extra 30 min. Because the payed out the tables wrong. Our cook could not cook because table next to us was cooking. While latter seated table ate first. For a New York City Resturant not professional. Very Mid Western Run.

I liked it, it was entertaining. My wife took me there for my birthday. Funny thing is, is that I was expecting it to be a Japanese hibachi place, but instead it was completely Americanized. Otherwise the food was great and so was the atmosphere.

Great grill resto!!Good service especially for the kids!!

Not sure about the way they place groups with other groups. Sometimes not a good mix.

The wait is ridiculous! Even after being seated the chef arrives at the table a hour and half later! Will absolutely not being going again, not too mention everyone is packed like sardines next to each other at the tables .

Food and entertainment was great. The server was a not very pleasant forced and demanded a gratuity and then stole $20. Bill was $116 put $140 and came back to us like we didn't leave him a tip and there happened to only be $120. I know what I put.

A group of friends and I patiently waited for an hour for cold food. When food arrived we literally had to ask for food to be reheated which took them so long they had to pack our food to go! Ridiculous I tell you

They take too long to serve the food. But the attention was good.

Not my 1st time and the experience was not what I expected my cook need more training (Edison was his name) I see him getting better with time. But it was the server Sydney who brought the star to only one star she was not friendly unorganized she rushed us to order never came around to see who needed anything and got our checks mixed up.. need to double think to come here again. If I do come back I will ask for another server and thank you guys for the ticket on my car!!!

Very safe in terms of regulating covid precautions. We had our own table for a party of 4 and the service did not miss a beat!

Feels a bit like being at a mall in New Jersey, but for what it is, totally enjoyable. Everything is just like you remember it from 20 years ago, including the shrimp tails getting flipped in the chef's hat and the onion ring volcano.

The food here was great as was the chef that prepared our meal. I was entertained by the chefs by I'm sure what are their go to jokes for the show that they put on. Food came out well, only qualm for some may be that because it is fresh made in front of you it is plated in "pieces" so the diner next to me waited for all the food to be done before eating. My dining mate and I both ate the vegetable zucchini as soon as it was played for us while the rest of the food cooked. Dining room was loud with lots of guests on their phones/facetiming with full volume, that was the only turnoff to an otherwise enjoyable experience. Would head back, but not often.

Had to wait 40 minutes for a table even though had a party of 7. The chefs performance was really weak and unenergetic. I felt like I was watching ketchup come out of the bottle....slow, but at least it tastes good

The Chef had a more natural sense of humor than I've seen in other Hibachi settings. The food was delicious and they helped us get out the door in time for our Broadway show!

Absolutely terrible service, McDonalds would have been a better option. We were in the restaurant for almost 4 hours just waiting to get seated, to order, to get our food cooked, and to get the checks. Not only that but they got the checks wrong about 4 times, so the manager came out to argue with us about the checks and he was very disrespectful when talking to us. However the food was very good, but service was horrible. Won t be coming back.

Sat us over 45 mins late for our reservation but the food was standard Benihana food - can't expect to much from their service.

Always great. We always go to celebrate the children's birthday for lunch. They are always excited to go. The staff was excellent and our chief was spectacular, preforming all of the tricks and some new ones as well. We all had a great time. We can't wait until we go again. Just wanted to say thank you to all of the people that made our day even more special.

The menu and service were above our expectations. We really loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Wonderful spot to take the family out for lunch.

Fantastic experience with very good selection of steak, seafood and chicken for ALL to enjoy. Awesome cooks, prepare it all a few inches from your face. My 4 year old loved it and the fried rice and drink availibilitys were great. Nice big group office or special events get together space. Rest in Peace Rocky.

We enjoyed this Asian lunch. Fresh and cooked products in front of us. The cuisto ensures the show. it's an experience to live absolutely.
