The combo meals have a lot of food. Fried rice and steaks and shrimp are great. Good sauces for hibachi place. May have many families.

By far one of the best Benihana Chefs. Emmanuel had the entire table laughing and entertained
Always fun, overpriced, and small portions. It's good once every 5 or 10 years but not for the regular haunt.
Whatever you order, make sure it comes with fried rice. Order extra even.
Fine dining....nice clean atmosphere, friendly staff and our chef was excellent...srry I did not get his name....food was great...
You can make a reservation, but it doesn t matter, even if you arrive half an hour in advance you can be waiting for hours
my favorite place with the family!!!! brings us together and good times . love the food and service
I walked into this place and there were hardly anybody eating in there . The host didn t even greet us, and we ended up being sent to another host who allowed a party of 8 that walked in after us and sat them down . We waited 20 minutes for a table of two and nobody said anything to us as we just stood there confused . Horrible service . The employees just existed they didnt do anything to ease our wait at all.
Loved this, amazing staff, great chefs , very fun night ! Cant wait to go back
The tastiest food I've ever eaten. Yakissoba made only of pasta and sauce. Meat and shrimp without salt.
We had a not so great waiter and the food was undercooked. He wrote on the receipt, we had to auto pay him tip that's a first one for me. He kinda rush us to leave as well when we got our rice at the end of our meal. I think they need to retrain their staff again seriously.
People come here for birthdays and special occasions. The chef at the table was very nice and entertaining and tried his best to engage the table, no issues there. Food was just okay though, nothing special. A little underwhelming.
Food is consistently good, its plenty but service is average and the wait time is too much for working people.
Please listen to the newest reviews, had I listened, I would have not wasted 50mins to an hour waiting for a table I was told 15mins for. Very disappointing, and multiple tables had the same issue EVEN WITH RESERVATIONS. I completely understand when someone comes off the street as a walk in and you're told an hour or even two to wait but why waste my time and continue to tell me it's only a few more mins? After the first 20mins I was told a table was leaving after the next 10 mins I was told they just need to clean off a table. Low and behold here I am waiting for a table nearly after a full hour. I finally decided to leave after overhearing another party with reservations was not going to be seated on time. Big surprise. At the risk of wasting my time further I left. The front desk ladies do not care, and do not have a proper sense of time. And I know what you might be thinking, "this lady is being a little harsh over a little misrepresentation on time" I thought the same, after the 20 mins and look where that got me. I'm always one to give the benefit of the doubt, since i work in the service industry myself and I know how things can get when people get busy, however we never received an apology or any kind of explaination. It's disappointing to see the reviews and actually see that nothing is being done by upper management to correct the issues going on here. Not worth the risk of losing an hour of your life.
I had the best time of my life at this place, it was a great experience and I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Especially if your chef is LIL. He is the absolute best from my experience I can say once he introduced him self he started making us all laugh. He cooked our food with so much love. LIL DESERVES for the world to know about him. He makes you enjoy your moment making you laugh he is amazing and my family and I are extremely thankful with him. It was our first time there and can t wait to go back.
Had a reservation at 7 and didn't get seated till 8. Had to wait a whole hour to be seated. Be mindful that the restaurant wasn't even busy at all. It was a Wednesday evening.
Just an average Japanese hibachi restaurant. The chef tries to keep you entertained the whole time. The food is ok but don't go anywhere near their sushi. The miso soup was terrible.
We usually love Benihana, but this location did not live up to expectations. Food was over cooked, our chef acted like it was his first time cooking. Waiters didn't follow up with drink refills. Not impressed.
I absolutely liked the food and Customer Service.. The chef prepare the food Deliciously.. Just love it...
Had a reservation, arrived on a Sunday at lunch time, restaurant seemed to be more and less empty, was told to sit and wait. After 30 min, nothing happened. I understand they need to have a certain number of people to arrange the tablets, More
Fun, tasty experience! They easily accommodated my gluten allergy and that sets this restaurant apart. We went for lunch on a Saturday, which was a great way to beat the crowds. We will return. Thank you, Benihana! Highly recommended.
I ordered the benihana trio and my steak isn t cooked to medium well as I asked and my lettuce looks old and the food presentation is a mess. Food isn t tasty at all. Looks like it was just slapped together for delivery. I will never order here again. The food taste disgusting!
Food and service as amazing strongly recommend. My advice is to get there early.
I really enjoyed it tremendously. The food was delicious, the tableside cooking entertaining.
Good food and atmosphere. Server was quick and attentive. The chef was funny and paid attention to my food allergies.
Terrible service and it was my wife s birthday and they didn t even acknowledge it.
Arrived for our reservation this evening, the restaurant was heaving could barely get in the door. Checked in for our reservation and told to wait to be called. There was a huge humber of people waiting for their tables and didn't look anywhere likely we would be getting our table anytime soon. We were a party of five including my 5 year old daughter, within minutes of arriving she was pushed in the head and shoved out the way by a customer. The restaurant was not safe for my child. We took her to stand on the stairs away from the hulk of the crowd and then decided to leave the restaurant. It was my birthday and our last day of holiday which has been ruined. Never experienced this level of service at any Benihana around the world and has certainly tainted my view on visiting anymore
Sudip was an amazing chef he took care of us, it was also my birthday and they made it special
There is NO SENSE IN MAKING A RESERVATION BECAUSE YOU WILL WAIT 20-30 MINUTES TO BE SEATED. Waitress kept forgetting simple things like water and silverwear. And favortism. Overall the food was bomb
Excellent restaurant I had studied in the MBA for how efficient they are and I wanted to go see the process in person. Very interesting as they have thought all the details. The food is very good and the attention also excellent. They were very careful with people allergic to seafood. Excellent!
One- Make Reservations On Weekends Period! (or eat at the bar on 1st floor, no reservations required) Two- As always it s delicious but as always it s so super crowded on weekends and especially on Saturday (during weekdays I feel like reservations are kept more on time and it s always so fun and a good time with friends and family) So anyway, we arrived at 530p, for 6pm reservations & we were not called at 6p nor at 635p so since we were waiting over an hour & sitting in bar area at a table, and this is a cool TIP: for all Benihana lovers who at this point don t care to see the grill cooking dramatics for once, or just a local like us or just love the food and can t wait any longer, you can order on the 1st Floor from the same menu like upstairs, they have the menus on the side of Bar table, then get bartenders attention at the bar and he takes ur order gladly! You can sit right there at bar or on side tables or ask to place you in back. Soup & salad came out 5 min. after we placed order!! And food 10 min after that!! It s amazing and what a relief when ur starving and don t wanna wait any longer. Also, we always upgrade the white rice to chicken fried rice cuz it s sooo good & garlic buttery! A matter of fact, when we did decide at 635p to just eat at bar area, at an actual table beside the bar, I had hubby go to hostess and cancel our reservations but he asked her 1st how much longer was the wait she said MAYBE 15 more minutes!! That would been 1 hour and a half just waiting to be seated and you know it would have been 30 min more just to place order at the grill tables! So eating in bar area today was way to go this time for us and food was brought out lightening fast & as always like I said delicious! So anyway, if you can t wait 2 hours or more to eat just get food at bar, back left corner is best spot to sit, it s furthest away from hostess desk and next to window. Btw the bartenders and the busboy were excellent!! Enjoy! A.
Went there for my birthday first time going..I can say for the experience it was good our chef and waiter were really nice..but at far as ambiance too crowded for my taste and the room gets really smokey and you will smell like food once you leave prices are way too high but your paying for the experience..so overall it's ok in my opinion..and even though we made a reservation we still had to wait..food was a little salty as well
Came here to surprise a friend for his birthday. It was above and beyond. The server had amazing recommendations, he also asked for any allergies to make sure which I appreciated because my girlfriend is allergic to peanuts, and the chef was very entertaining. How popular this place is showed in how big the crowds were on that day, yet, we didn't feel crowded. Thank you guys for having us and giving us an amazing experience. Our friend turned out to surprise us in the end.
Love the food, love the experience! Can't wait to go again and try a different dish!
rsonally think that it's just ok not that wow or the must anyway. Very crowded.
Highly reccommend to book in advance online, much more better than walk-in especially for dinner which you maybe request to wait almost hour (or more) to be seated. I have been to Benihana in BKK and London which less crowded and more for the 'show', maybe because of the numbers of customer so that there is more time for the show when cooking. Here is too noisy and busy so if you seek for such a relax meal, here is not an idea.
For the test, price, food options, OK. Maybe vegetarian friendly but not for vegan or strictly vegetarian.
Benihana fried rice is good
Japanese art-restaurant. Everything is just delicious and the show is great!
I m an avid Benihana customer. And I ve tried to not write this location off but honestly, don t waste your time. The good is either too salty or not seasoned enough and the chefs tend to be really dull and boring. Such a disappointment.
I love benihana it will always be a classic. Very clean , profession chefs and tge food is sooo good. Love the entertainment
The space is packed with tables and with low ceilings there was lots of smoke in the air. The food was good and the chef did a fun job.
Fun experience watching your meal cooked in a showy way. The birthday coupon is definitely a plus!
I love it here! Our chef was amazing. He was pleasant, interactive, funny, and entertained us well. Of course the food was great, too! Well worth the price as you get a lot for your money! Definitely one of my favorite places to go to for hibachi in the city. The only thing I noticed is that the draft from downstairs comes all the way upstairs, so it gets a drafty there in the cooler seasons. But not a huge deal at all.
First time there and it was really good. I wish this wasn't covid 2020 so I could have experienced all the hot table excitement but the food was good and the waiter was coo
I honestly found it overrated! The food was okay but definitely not worth all the hype! The sushi was pretty good though
Excellent meal here in NYC... very quick for hibachi and brought back fond memories of the Benihana Christmas episode of the Office. Our waiter Gideon was very kind and efficient and we ll definitely come back the next time we make our way to the city!
Great place for all nights date night, birthday celebration. Really enjoyed myself here
I've had better....nice restaurant but our cook was boring and the food was just okay.
Got to say that I love coming to Benihana and sitting down at the sushi lounge. Jane is fantastic. Always great food and service whether having lunch or dinner.
The food was pretty ok but a little over price for the amount that you get .
It took 45 min to get seated
The ice cream is good though
Average at best. Food was a bit bland, decor is dated and left feeling a bit robbed rather than having had a great experience.
The quality of the food is on point but they tend to make things overly salty. The chef was slightly underwhelming in that he failed the shrimp in the hat trick repeatedly. Also he was less than enthusiastic unlike the chef at the next table. Tip, they have birthday promos if you sign up online.
The food is really good, but slightly pricey lol. Totally worth the experience if you've never been before. I will say before you leave you will be smiling like whatever is being cooked lol. Oh also get EXTRA garlic butter in your fried rice if that's something you like.
Reservations mean nothing if you arrive late, you will be put on the bottom of the list. Front desk people have poor customer attitudes too!
My experience here was just OK. I was with a party of 12 and was told it would be a little tight....they didn't mention that 1 of us would not have a place at the table. The chair was situated in between 2 table but not at the table......but we figured it out and decided to make the most of it. Our waiter promptly came to take our drink selections and then the waiting game began. I must say we did not realize that our waiter hadn't come back in over 25 minutes since we were talking and getting reacquainted. We did realize after someone said that they were thirsty then we all looked at our watches and realized the time literally flew and our waiter was nowhere in sight. We waited for another 15 mins before he showed up with melted milkshakes and drinks for our table. By the way....during this time no one has come to take our entree orders, this happened about 20 minutes after the drinks came. Our party had a 8 o clock reservation....we were seated about 9 and we did not have our order started until 10:50(for a gauge in our seat to order time frame). After the wait most of us just wanted to go home so we didnt eat our hibachi...we took it to go. Would I go back....maybe but I'm not enthused.
The service was pretty much nonexistent except for the bus boy who was really nice. It was really expensive given the quality and taste of the food was pretty much the same as Chinese food you could get at the mall. Would not recommend it.
Probably the best restaurant in new york. Get the scallops!
Decent place with stiff drinks. Even with a reservation it s still a wait at front door. GF loves it with the heart rice. Thanks.
Fun experience. Nothing is authentic but the show is fun and if you go there with a big group, not expecting something fancy, you'll have a very good time!
