The bartender /waiter was not good and at end . He ask if get tip because he was he was getting off soon

Big disappointment ... I was seduced the first time I went there and this time after 2 years ... more like it. The cook prepared the menu in the mess and forgot several things (a portion of rice, green tea). In addition, the rice was missed. A whole movie experience with chefs who prepare food in front of you, in a waste of skills with cooking utensils. Just as spectacular as the explosive taste in your mouth. The sound and the atmosphere make you feel inside a Hollywood scene. Fair prices

Great food, atmosphere and drinks. Some of the chefs actually act like they want to be there others not so much. I wish they had bigger table to accommodate a larger group. Reasonable priced food and drinks as well.

Had a reservation for 6:45pm but there was a wait of atleast 30 mins. What's the point of accepting reservations if you can't honor them. We left because webhad kids in our party. Also got a weird Red Lobstery vibe which I didn't care for.

I've been to Benihana several times so I've probably gotten jaded. Our waiter did not have the characteristic joie de vivre that I've gotten accustomed to at Benihana. The food, as always, was delicious

Yeah, nice. But you quickly understand that the strings are always the same, the cooks have only one joke that they all tell their customers. Quick heavy and Quick painful. Spectacular but far from exceptional cuisine

I absolutely hated the host who took our orders. The drinks were, but when I expressed how much I did not like the way my chicken was made the server refused to take it off the bill. I would not recommend anyone to visit here.

Always reserve a table for a faster, smoother experience.

Chef Vincent was awesome as usual and why is chevon always working so hard she needs a raise. We will return for chevon definite politeness and Vincent s great food.

Benihana's a good place to go eat and relax and have fun enjoy the food it's good excellent I recommend anybody who go there have a good time

Good place to go with friends. Table seats 8 people. So, hopefully you don't get stuck seated with the Pharma Bro. And important to get a good chef. *

The fried rice is really good, so I order that as well.
But with the meal you get a soup, salad, vegs, and desert. Usually full and happy when leaving here ..;)

Great place for some family time and causal entertainment. I made a reservation and we were seated on time and particularly in a semi private as opposed to the open space, which was really nice. Food is obviously made fresh in front of you, but it s the chef who makes the experience fun and worthwhile.

Great food and service. Our Chef Devin had us laughing all night! However, it was really cold inside. So dress warm when you go.

The food was good but we waited too long to be served. Prices were a little high but it is Manhattan. The staff was friendly.

Old school Japanese bbq place that brings me back to my childhood. The cooking is a show, and we always have a good time here.

Amazing lunch special, great for lunch with coworkers. If you let the servers know before hand your time frame they work to get you your food in a timely manner.

Good food, good atmosphere, good service. Can't really complain although I wish the chef would have been a little more on the fun side. He tried his best though.

I went here for a friend's birthday celebration. I enjoyed myself, and we were on the second floor. It's a very beautiful setting. It's very pricey and my first time seeing my food cooked in front of me creatively. I say Benihana is something you should do at least once. I think I was mostly interesting in the fish bowl drinks, yum. I enjoyed the location and setting, but you can't enjoy yourself without spend a good amount of money, in which you can go broke, so your food is going to taste a bit normal nothing crazy outside the box. It's a nice place though.

My friends and I decided to try something different for my birthday. We had Chef Lil and he was awesome. He was very entertaining and food was actually very good. We were seated with other guests that were pleasant. We had and awesome habachi experience at Benihana.

The chicken was very touch...after being sat it took about 20 minutes for the chef to come to the table... the greeters stand at the front and play with there hair or talk... this was my 1st and last visit here

Super super rich everything, I love that place fascinates me, they treat you so cute, they make you laugh and it's not very expensive. It is an elegance to eat in that place really. Very rich, clean and very tidy that restaurant. The impeccable food and their cooks are professionals in what they do.

I came here with my family and my boyfriend (this was his first vist). This place used to be our go to holiday classic...untill our past visit.. Appitizers didnt come out and when it did it had hair in it! I asked to speak to a manager and he had the nerves to say to me, it must be mines because this never happens... Ive worked in nothing but restaurants in my life.. since when do u address a hair in food like that? I wont be returning.. I traveled by train all the way to new york when i could of drove right to short hills.. smh

Food is usually great but the wait time on busy nights is unusually ridiculous. I avoid weekends as much as possible.

First of all, the food is amazing, the experience is great and the service is wonderful.

Definitely, I will come back with colleagues from work or with family and/or friends.

I visited Benihana on Valentine's Day .... and to see the least i was less than thrilled . This is place is over priced and over rated ! The cuisine is pretty ordinary and i can easily imagine having more delicious food from any local Asian restaurant . The food came on a cart and didn't look like it was in the most sanitary of conditions ... kind of like it was sitting on the same cutting board from the previous cooking spectacle 35 minutes ago. The chefs were entertaining and nice and the servers were very attractive and attentive ... the drinks were weak but nonetheless delicious.

Good for birthday party and atmosphere. Reservations need some work as it took an hour to be seated after our initial reservation time. Paying for atmosphere and experience but food is generally good.

Super entertaining with great food for the price! Come and kick back for a couple hours and have fun! Our waiter was freaking amazing. We were seated with a very snobby gentleman who was quite rude to the waiter for something that was not his fault, and our server handled it wonderfully. My mother gave him an extra tip for this, which he then gave the 4 of of free ice cream for! Thanks to this wonderful institution for amazing service!

I went with my girlfriend yesterday to this hibachi because of the reputation it has but I ve been to MANY other hibachi s and this was by far the worst!
Food lacked flavor and the Chef didn t show up until after a HOUR AND 20 MINUTES after we were seated!!!!

The food was decent and the guy who prepared our food was excellent!! The waiyress was HORRIBLEand they over charged our bill twice.

We've just come back from having dinner here. The food itself was really tasty. Chef was good but unfortunately we wish we had been served by someone else, as all the other tables were having a great time, laughing and joking with their chef but our guy just wanted to cook and go. Having been out first experience of this type of restaurant we've been left disappointed but hopefully will find another restaurant like this and have a better experience next time.

Good when you get a good waiter and chef. But varied wildly from visit to visit although the food is always good.

Don't order from here during the pandemic. They dont care about the customer. I've tried ordering from the website for 3 days and had my card charged and it wont go through. I called for 3 days to pick up on mothers day. I had to dispute the charge with my card. I went in person on mothers day. When I told them what happened they told me to call after I showed them my phone log. When I did. THEY STILL DIDNT PICK UP! so now they took my order in person and I'm still waiting here over 1 and a half hours. There is 20+ people waiting and no organization of social distancing.

it took 2 1/2 hours and when I got home. Stuff was missing. I had no sauce and an order of noodles was missing. $70 in the garbage on mothers day.

It's a very busy restaurant and there is a waiting period of 3 to 5 minutes. Than you are escorted to your seat. The chef and waiter are all present. The environment is welcoming but I am not sure if it's a place suitable for individual with disabilities especially wheelchair accessibility. Other than that it's great!

Wait time is too long even when booked with reservations but the food is worth it. Tables only seat a group of 8 to 10 people.

The food was okay it took awhile for the chef to get started the drinks were pretty good our chef was rupak he was cool. The only Downer was the fact that we did not have enough plate nor arm space on the table and the place was pretty crowded

The food is good but the only thing I don't like about this place it was very cramped up tables were next to each other with very little space to move.

Customer service are discussing, they are not polite.

Worst experience. My friends and me were excited to visit Benihana because they closed the one in Seattle. Tonight, we made 930pm reservations and did not get seated until 1000pm. Got seated and the chef took our drink orders. He returned with the drinks and then he took our orders. At 1015 soup and salad were served. We waited and people at our table were getting annoyed as our chef did not come back. We waited unto 1055 and decided to leave. I complained and asked for manager, none available. All my friend wanted to do was pay for his drink. We waited for another 5 minutes to get a bill. It was the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant. Very rude host and hostess at the beginning.

Came here for a friend's birthday. Prior to our arrival, we were told to spend a large minimum if we wanted to guarantee our tables together or to get a private room for our large group. Welp.. that idea went down the drain because there was no way everyone would be spending that much money a piece on their own food and drinks.
When we got there, we had to wait like an hour for the rest of the party to arrive (you know brown folk smh) so that pushed our reservation time back. When our party was finally complete, they were very accommodating and sat us in our own room and it was a Saturday night. We were very grateful. At the same time, we were their last table because it was so late.

The chef was fun and patient with us. The food was decent. I enjoyed my Seafood Diablo the next day. The flavors were all marinated and it tasted much better.

I would go back to try something different just because I loved the service.

Great food but slow friendly service. Go there when not in a hurry....

Had reservations and still waited 15 minutes until our table was ready; then we had to wait 45 minutes at the table before we received the soup. Then it was another 20 minutes for salad. The manager did not seem to care how bad the service was after complaining twice.

30 minutes to take your order, 45 minutes to bring the drinks, and one hour later I still waiting for the appetizer and no sing of the person that is going to cook.

The manager Kacy (Casey) was Soooo RUDE. We were eating at the restaurant and then some water fell into our Drinks and our Food. He came over very aggressive stating that it s normal for water from the vents to drop into our food and drinks . He didn t offer any sympathy or empathy towards the situation and we will be taking it further . He was Very unprofessional .

Terrible service. Organization is terrible. Came here to celebrate a birthday with family. After being seated, nobody came to our table for over 30 minutes. No drink orders, not even waters. Finally, we got a server to take our drink orders after asking two servers who were walking by. More waiting. After 10 minutes of no drinks/waters, we got up and left. The receptionist had no interest in listening to why we were unhappy. To make matters worse, the place is small and tables are crammed. There is also no AC. Avoid this place at all costs.

Careless hostesses! Just hanging out, doing nothing! Never ever again! My reservation was at 8.45 PM, it is 9.30pm still waiting. I was told that I will get called when the table is available. Thank you for informing me!!! I couldn t think that, at sikine konmus kelebekler!

Meal was great, the guy who was cooking the food was hilarious!!! Food was cooked perfectly. This was a great first time experience!!!

Be careful not to miss your reservation time or you will be waiting for hours. Love the Hibachi part but not worth a 3 hour wait.

Not surprising for New York City but it's a very small Benihana, hardly any space between tables.

Terrible, We have recervation for 11 people at 10:15 pm, and when we arrived they say our table is ready at 11:30 pm

Slow service. We waited for over 30 minutes for our order, and our water glasses continuously went empty. The staff wasn't too friendly either. Wouldn't recommend.

Avoid at all cost! Terrible service and unbelievable slow and wait time, but they keep telling the food is coming , is coming. "Last" time, I ended up waiting for more than a hour!

Went here for a group lunch on a week day. The service was fast and we were seated within five minutes. The food is great, everything you expect from hibachi. Scallops were cooked to perfection. Fried rice is just right, not too salty and didn't have too much soy sauce like some hibachi places. The only drawback is the heat in the dining room from so many people and cooking stations. Finally, they gave me a small ice cream at the end because it was my Birthday!

Its a big restaurant. The staff is great. We did reservations for 10:00pm still had to wait for 20 minutes for a table. This restaurant is a very hot restaurant. I was so hot i felt so uncomfortable. I like the restaurant. They had a women's bathroom and a men's bathroom. They have elevators. They have a bar in the first floor. They give lots of food. You will get full before finishing your plate. They have a little cool show. I feel like they should use more seasonings for the food. Everything was great. I had a great time. I will come back here.

Very expensive BUT well worth every single penny. Something to do at least once a year! Every single thing they cooked was delicious. Highly recommended
