Fun ski area with a good variety of terrain, we hiked here a few years ago after the ski season had ended when there was still plenty of snow. It's a great ski area right in the Catskills region.

Had a great day at bellayre! Lift lines were short and the conditions were excellent given the bad season we've been having. Have been coming here since I was younger and will continue to since it's always a good time

I learned how to ski at Belleayre. This was my third year there, and I love it. This year, I went with my friend and raced him down the mountain numerous times. I can't wait to go back next year

Great little resort just over 2 hours from NYC. We had an excellent experience with the day care and ski school for the little ones. Really nothing to complain about if you remember where you are and that snow conditions will most likely not be anything spectacular. The small mountain is pretty and has a gondola (!) to the top to access some decent length runs that are still not too intimidating for younger skiers/riders. Great getaway perfect for a young family.

Ice ice baby. So much ice on all of the so-called advanced slopes. All of the black slopes are incredibly short, maybe 50 to 100 meters, and then you either take the lift back up or continue downhill via blue or green slopes. The top of the mountain is a wide, flat area, that you have to traverse to get to all of the slopes. And all of this is way too expensive. It's about the same price as Hunter, but much, much worse in quality. The only redeeming property is that there are fewer people here, so it's less crowded than Hunter.

Came here to learn how to snowboard, great place to enjoy the view once you're in the top. Oh and you need a map... Don't go up there without one! Well, unless you're that experienced with the area or good with directions. But yeah, nice lessons of your ok with a class full (7-10) of people. There's break points for adult beverages and food, but it's obviously expensive and edible... The rentals are ok... Sometimes they run out, so get there early! The helmets... Are not very clean so wear something under it like a beanie or something. That's all I can say, haven't tried skiing there yet.

Great little resort, the people are so friendly and the staff are always on hand to help make this a seamless ski experience. We put our kids into the ski school and they couldn't have been better catered for, a great time had by all.

I went to Bellayre for temp work, but it was an amazing atmosphere with nice scenery. The patrons seemed to love it. It was insanely busy, but well organized. A commemorative plaque says it's been around since the '50s.

We love Belleyare. It''s the closest big mountain from NYC. It cost less than Hunter and Windham. It's low key and the both the skiers and the staff are just really nice. You come here and no one's putting on airs. This isn't about fancy snowsuits and skis. It's about sking.

The mountain is incredibly diverse and the trails are cut so that you're always on an adventure. we go to Mt. Snow too, and for the money, Belleyare is better. It's a tighter mountain, but with dozens of trails close together so you're not skiing forever on lateral trails to get from one side of the mountain to the other. Plenty of blacks and blues, great glades skiing, really nice terrain park. Love this mountain!!!

A great mountain for people who love to have fun skiing/riding and are safety conscious. Has a separate area for people just beginning and a variety of blues all across the mountain. Great steeps for experts, some groomed and some bumps.

This is one of my favorite mountains in the area. It is never crowded, even on the weekends. It is typically colder than other mountains in the area which makes it less icy. It is not aggravating to ski/snowboard here as someone who is more advanced because most of the people that come here are experienced.
The lift situation could be improved. Despite it not being a very crowded mountain, the employees directing the skiers getting on the lift can be very inefficient to the point where you can be standing in line 10-20 minutes while others could have just arrived at the lift and be directed to load.

I just loved it. I really was surprised at the amount of slopes they had and of how long they were.
The costumer service there is just amazing.
My friend got injured and their ski patrol service was perfect.
They have great skiing for all levels.
I suggest renting equipment at a nearby shop down the road called Belleayre ski rentals.
I really suggest you go there, it's better than the other ones in the area

Great place to ski. They put in a new gondola which has really improved the on snow experience. The lodge has been improved as well. Great rustic vibe. It's clean and located mid mountain. The food is good and home made or at least the pizza and chilli is.

I pre- bought lift tickets then 2 minutes later received an email from my group leader that we were offered a steep group discount. I called immediately. Belleayre will do nothing to help me. I m really disappointed. If the skiing was worth it that s one thing but Belleayre could use all the goodwill it can get. I dont even want to go anymore and will NEVER go again.-Updated to reflect the fact that they finally refunded my $. Only 6 reviews, 4 emails later.

A really nice place to enjoy snow sports and activities. Easy to get to, quiet, not nearly as packed as the neighboring mountains of Hunter and Windham. Reasonably priced for a day trip. My one concern was the fact that, being as the mountain and lodge are very old, the mountain is basically split in two. Which makes getting yourself to the other lift VERY annoying when you want to get up to the summit. And at the summit, you have to kind of plod along to the right if you want to hit the trails over there, it isn't really graded properly so you can't just glide over. That is very annoying, but aside from that, a great day trip. I wouldn't do it for more than a day, though...

Pros: tall mountain, not too crowded, good assortment of advanced runs, lodge food was pretty good
Cons: Somewhat poor design so you end up doing a lot of skiing on flat terrain to get to the run. Lifts were a bit slow and the central one only had 3 seats. They're also really obsessed with checking lift tickets, to the point where we sometimes missed chairs for having to wait to be checked.

It is a very big and nice mountain. The place is very big, but sometimes really crowded. The overall trails are well maintained, but the double blacks have a lot of ice. The ski lifts are unbelievably fast. They installed a gondola which only takes seven minutes to the top while regular lifts that go halfway to the top, or from the middle to the top go two times slower. Amazing trip though.

Let me begin by saying how thankful my family was to manager 'Sean' for going above and beyond to take care of our needs as first timers. Although, we did not have reservations for our 3 day lessons, he accommodated us. Our daughter had a blast!. Boots and equipment personnel is sharp. But make sure you get the right size for the boots. Kids camp staff is kind. The only uncomfortable moment was when we try to buy the lesson package on site, and faced cold shoulders from the staff until manager Sean changed all of that and saved our family vacation. Please make reservations (must pay in advance) to avoid headaches. Also, you MUST arrive 1 hour earlier than your lesson, specially if you are not familiar with the place. The only reason I do not give it a 5 stars is because the food sold at the premises is very very expensive and there was an employee smoking while working. Other than that, the instructors are very nice, but the directions vary among them. trails are well kept. Gondola is a must try. It will be helpful if they issue a report card for those taking lessons, and also a survey about our overall experience. We plan to come back next year

We went on president's day weekend. Overall experience is very modern, especially with the rental process with computers and helpful staff. The gondola was the bestway to get to the top. The Lightning Quad was a miserable experience. We spent almost 20 minutes in that line and they were running it super slow with all the families unfamiliar with getting through the electronic gates.

Had a lot of fun snowboarding. The trails were a bit icy but it was well groomed. I really liked the layout of the trails too. Im a beginner so I could take most paths from the first chair lift and for the experienced skiers/boarders they can take another chairlift higher up the mountain or just go straight to the second lodge. Awesome place and im definitely going again

Went mid week. The staff was incredibly helpful, as I had damaged my own boots and had to rent. The process was painless, literally! Lunch? It's mountain food, but served up with a smile. My favorite place in the Hudson valley to ski.
