Decent trails and terrain for the Catskills and the new gondola is very nice! Even tall people can stand in this one which means no smashing heads on the way in and out. The employees are awesome, especially the guys at guest services. I thought I had lost my water bottle and the guys were a hoot helping me track it down!
Even with one of the weirdest winters I can remember, Belleayre was able to have almost every single trail open. The wait times were minimal and the staff was extremely friendly.
Always love going to Belleayre. Twice now I've gotten a quick wax and sharpen on the boards and the guys there are great, always friendly and quick. Think it took 10 minutes to get 2 boards done. The new gondola is awesome but I feel the other lifts are always breaking. If only they put some money into fixing them up and keeping them running. This time we had to walk up the trail from super chief because it broke. Would be 5 stars if they fixed up the lifts a little
A solid, well run and we'll maintained eastern ski resort. Great snow making capacity. They have a new gondola, but on my recent visit both the gondola and main quad were not running due to "pacing issues" (?), Which greatly limited skiing.
Excellent place we re new to skiing, family of four kids 8 & 5 yrs. Kids got four private lessons from LeVan and we were all four on the slopes together! (The easy ones, but still lots of fun for all!)
Tips: rent your equipment somewhere else, at least the day prior to your arrival. Make sure everyone is completely comfortable in their gear.
See if a hotel you re staying in offers lift ticket discounts. Or you may find an online discount say on Black Friday or Groupon?
Get lessons if you don t know how to ski. For smaller kids get private lessons.
This place has shuttle buses. Use them. Save your energy for the slopes.
Awesome first time skiing excellent place for first time
Great place to ski and the fall festival was great!
Good skiing for the area, prices for lift tickets are pretty reasonable. I've been here usually 1x a year for the past 5 years and it's always a good time. The food options in the lodge leave a bit to be desired but it's no different than most ski lodges.
Facilities are newer than Gore and comparable to Whiteface. The trails are a bit simple but quite alright considering the shape of the mountain. Great place for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders
Great mountain. Good snow, good runs, great race crew.
Absolutely love the updates and the gondola, definitely my fav local mountain now!
First time at this slope and first time skiing. The staff was great they had my 9 year old down the slope in no time
Ateendants were very curteous.. amazing ski slopes. Not too crowded
Compared to hunter mountain, the snow here was fantastic will most likely give up hunter and come here from now on
Its beautiful scenery and its environment is awesome
Great little mountain. Wasn't too packed. Wish the terrain park was bigger though. Beware the more advanced trails will be closed if there isn't a huge snow base.
This is a fun mountain with good views. The only reason that I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because Belle is VERY flat on top, the chairlifts are old, and skiers can't always get off at mid-station anymore (on weekdays). All of the lifts operate on weekends, but weekends are more expensive.
Great late season conditions due to the recent wave or nor'easters. Good mountain for beginners and intermediate skiers.
Really good family ski area with trails for everyone. From good beginner to glades.
Lots of snow and good conditions. Great job to the Belle.
Very good skiing resort... And good snow the day I went... try to go after it just snowed
I was a national ski patrolman there for many ski seasons with Dot Hoyt Nebl , of course many of you young folk wouldn't remember this time frame, also Art Draper was area manager of ski center. Wonderful place to learn and professionally ski great trails. I many years ago left the area and spent 33 yrs in the Army of the United States, using my skills learned at Belleayre under the instructor again, Dorthy Hoyt Nebel
Super friendly mountain. Great slopes for beginners as well for pro's.
Loved it here. The staff wasn't so friendly at the bar but everyone was in good spirits (except the bartenders).
Most friendliest crew ever.
Keep it up!
Enjoyed every second being here
We loved this place! We went there on ski last Tuesday and it was perfect. There were a wide variety of trails and lifts. Normally there wouldn't be many beginner trails, but there are quite a few on the lower part of the mountain and they were not all short like you would normally find. There's even an intermediate trail that is 2 1/2 miles long from the top of the mountain. Awesome! It was not overcrowded at all and reasonably priced. The overlook lodge had an awesome bar as well (always a bonus in my book).
Was great experience and good snow for so early in the year. We will go back
Grew up riding here good place to board and chill with the homies
A million different ski trails just can be a tough hike to get to some but it's worth the hike!
Great family ski area in the Catskills, not to far from the city. Decent vertical for your more experienced skiers. Awesome new gondola.
Love the gondola, staff was friendly, conditions were great...only issue was flat parts getting to the blue trails was a bit of a hike
Wasn't even packed on a Saturday and they've got the steeps!
Public mountain with great runs off all types. The new gondala has made it very easy to get to the other side which has no green and only one blue run so it's gone from the quiet side to the crazy busy side.
I'd like to give only one star, just to keep people away, but I can't do that. Belleayre is a gem, better conditions time over time than some of the more popular local competition. We stay on advanced/expert, so not terribly crowded, but I trained my kids here. With long beginners aplenty, it's a great novice mountain too.
Great mid sized area. Gondola makes it easier to ski the whole mountain.
With the addition of the Gondola, makes Belleayre so much better. Love this place.
I go up there for the view when the leaves are at peak, spectacular.
Very nice place to ski, family oriented, not crowded. Staff is very friendly.
Amazing location
Very friendly and great service
Highly recommended.
Great mountain; awesome employees, but the food services are the worst possible..long lines unprofessional, unprepared and serving school lunch food!! Who is allowed this company to service the State mountain??
We went to Belleayre to take the gondola ride. It was spectacular. The fall foliage was beautiful and the gondola glides along at tree top height. The walk along the ridge provided beautiful vistas across to the other mountains. Belleayre is easy to reach. There were no lines. There is ample free parking. The staff was exceptionally friendly. They answered all our questions about hiking and the area. The visit made for a wonderful day.
Although the parking lots were full you would never know that the place was jammed with people! The mountain is wide and disperses humanity such that there were virtually no waiting in lines!
Friendly staff, mountain is always in excellent condition, great variety of trails
I tried this place already with a friend and I am hooked since then. I enjoyed the fantastic vibes and yummy dishes and beverages. They never disappoint.
Belleayre is a great family ski mountain - kids 6 and under are free! The lift attendants are friendly! Magic carpet and the bowl are great learners areas. More advanced terrain is solid - despite being a small mountain there are numerous lodges. Trails are as long as they can be considering the height if the mountain. Roaring Brook, accessed via the super chief lift, while marked blue is closer to a green trail - especially if you take the turns wide and slow. I've skied at plattekill, hunter, windham, bromley, jimmney peak, etc - and I was an instructor at Killington. Belleayre is a great Catskill ski mountain. Be sure to hit the phoencia diner on your way back!
Condition is poor and no photos taken... Won't coming back
Great rooms, above average service. Food is a little expensive, but that is expected because it is mountain food.
Consistently groomed and barely ever too crowded to handle.
Great place to go. It has some challenging terrain but without the long lines of some other local areas.
One of my favorite mountains on the north east. The mountain is split into two parts with the blue/black trails on the upper half and green trails on the lower half. The only downside is that there is no night skiing here.
Mountain is nice but poor inefficient rental system that wastes a good chunk of ski time.
Very friendly staff always a good place to go to have a great time
This was my first time learning to snowboard, so for the most part I stuck to the learning area & magic carpet. Had a few private lessons & the instructor was fabulous. Actually all of the instructors & staff while at the mountain were helpful & nice. Eventually, I was to take the chairlift to a blue trail "Iroquois" which was beautiful. *I paid $4 for a bottle of water while there. Definitely bring your own if you can
One of New York's hidden gems, loved skiing here, people were so nice and views were amazing #skithebelle
Wow....snowed about an inch or 2 , enough to cover the exposed areas but the staff did a great job if keeping up with things. As an advanced skier I enjoyed myself...novices would have as well.
Great local ski spot. Terrain is very decent. Lodges are more than adequate for the crowds. Love how the Green trails are separate from the the more difficult terrain. Park at the main lot and the expert terrain is up (take the lifts) or ride and ski down to the beginner area on green trails.
Great Ski Resort. The ski training offered here is really good. Great views from up the mountain overlooking the valley.
Skiied here as a kid, bringing my family here too. Love this mountain
There was a ton of snow and people were everywhere. The kids had the greatest time
Friendly staff, good skiing on a hill that feels local. Recommended. Nothing too extreme so great for intermediates.
Great skiing the day I was there, although I would say the funds are easier than you would expect (blue is a green for example) and this also reflects who is on what run so care needed. Gondola is fast although whether a fast chairlift would have been better is a question...food is standard ski resort fare.
Our favorite hill in the cats, far superior to Windham/Hunter.
