Dear Bellaire Neurology Staff and Dr. Brian,
Dear Bellaire Neurology Staff and Dr. Brian,
I refuse to sign a letter that will consent to charge my card for any cancellation placed in less than 2 days. You site in the letter this is not to place a financial burden on the office or staff. Also, it is so you can not miss an opportunity to see other client
I have to say I would have happily paid the $100 fee upon my return if I would have received proper care and adequate treatment. Unfortunately, I found that the office and staff repeatedly lied to cover their delay in sending my MRI orders.
The first visit I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Brian was when he insisted that I have a MRI. His instructions was to receive the MRI and bring the images with me for my second visit. The second visit was coming up soon and I had still not received a call from Houston Medical Imaging.
I called the office where one of the staff members of Bellaire Neurology's response was "I do not see that we ordered a MRI for you." I then asked them to take a further look and see why not. I had to go into further detail explaining I was supposed to be bringing the images with me for my second visit. The staff member then said she now sees where the doctor ordered them and I would be receiving a call from HMI before the end of the day.
Not only did I not receive a call from HMI that day, but I had to wait almost a month later. During this time, I went on to call your office three more times asking if they had sent the orders. Finally, I asked for the number myself so I could call Houston Medical Imaging.
Without the MRI or any new information there, I see no benefit of seeing the doctor especially when your office is the one delaying the process. I would be expected to pay my copay for a useless visit.
At this point, while sick and extremely ill, I cancelled the appointment seeing no reason to drag myself in to the office. My reason for canceling was voiced on the voicemail that was left for your office. The response I expected was for the office to call and try to reschedule my appointment. Just maybe even go out of the way and be humble or just human enough to ask if I am feeling better. Another response that could have been expected was to wish me well since I was sick.
I fully understand at this point that patients care is not your top priority. Apparently, the only thing that matters is how much money you can squeeze out of my pocket. I feel extremely disappointed in the manner you treated me. I was willing to except the poor customer service with my MRI being delayed because I was/still am in enough pain to only care about getting to answers.
However, at this point I can not sit down and let your office bully patients into paying for such poor service!! Might I remind you, you are a doctors office, a place where people come who are in need of help. If you put your patients first and genuinely care about them I am sure you would have less cancellations. Another thought is when you raise the bar or standard of care you can raise the amount people pay to see you. It is just poor judgment and class to sight that we are placing a "financial burden" on you.
In case you haven't looked at your invoices recently, it cost me a $50 co pay and my insurance was billed to the tune of $337.50!
Not to mention the nice leather sofa, custom Texas decor, and leather seating in the waiting room. I'm sure all of that was very inexpensive seeing that you are on such a tight budget. I'm not even going to go into the custom art work on the walls or Dr.
My conclusion and warning for others is if you have any serious condition other than migraines, do not go here!
