Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA), known as "China's No.1 Gateway", is the most important, largest and busiest international aviation hub with the state-the-art facilities. Massive airport in size, great accomodations. Lots to eat and try here.

The Hourly Hotel lounge is not recommended, even if the airport is mega cold, the Hourly Hotel is not an option!
Rude staff, poor organization and overpriced!

If you want to get a visa for 72 hours, look very carefully at the signs.

Large airport with several terminals. When we went on transit and were going from one terminal to the other, we had to go through a thorough security check, where absolutely all of the electronic content in the hand luggage was checked. We were then followed by personnel to a waiting bus that took us to the correct terminal. After being followed from the bus to the terminal we were able to move freely. The airport has many shops where you can spend some time if you have plenty of time for the next flight.

China's largest airport is the largest in Asia and the second largest in the world. There are a total of 67 boarding gates. Delays seem to be normal. This time I made a transition here, and I also learned that the security screening is strict. The size of shopping streets and restaurants seems to be slightly larger than that of ordinary airports, which is not special. Entertainment facilities include singing bar, massage, games and so on. It is bad to say the least. Unfriendly staff, they don't speak English or they speak it very badly, they don't seem to be there to help you in fact !!! Badly they say they are "NO". NO SMOKING AREA !!

Good first impression of Beijing. Modern, clean with signage in English. Quick process getting through security (& Fingerprint registration) to baggage then to taxi.

One of the worst airports I've been too. Had terribly slow wifi and if you speak english, getting on the wifi will also be hard to begin with. Airport is definitely due for an upgrade. I'm surprised this is the busiest airport in Asia.

If you want to / have to spend the night at Beijing Airport, you should bring a blanket / sleeping bag, as it is very strong everywhere in this building.
The organization alone with the transfer looks chaotic. You have to queue at two counters and at both passport and boarding pass are checked and stamped (whatever the two control - you can do it in one go ?!). Then there is a chaotic hand luggage check again and the 100 ml (!) Orange juice cup that you just get on the plane has to be thrown away (even though it was in the zip bag).
Neither the taxi drivers nor the staff who assign you a taxi speak English.

The worst airport that I have seen in my life. Custom take out the water from duty free, lost my baggage and also they were crazy rude... They were about to check even my panties! Even powder powder for face in my hand luggage make them doubt about safety ...that's too much!!!that was the first and last time when my feet stepped on this china gtound.i am very disappointed!

Huge! But it works fine. There are several terminals here, if you tell the taxi driver only the "airport" he will not know where to bring you. Everyone nice, there is an information point - which cannot be said for Istanbul airport.

I love this airport but if your flying international like to Qatar, United arab of Emirates, Canada, United states you need to be there about 5 hours early because I was there 4 hours early flying back to Vancouver Canada and there were already boarding business class when I first arrived to the gate and I even didn t take any pit stops. This airport is every big you need to stay with your group or your gonna get lost

I use Terminal 3 mainly. On the way to the airport, the police stop and stand up and tell them to stand in line by two. If you are standing, touch clothes, bags, etc. with paper. Do not be nervous because it's a simple test. If you wait in line, it will allow you to enter in a few seconds.
We recommend you to make a simple meal before you go international. Landed in december around 10pm. No heating in arrival terminal. Departed 1 day later, still no heating in the departure area after security at T3. Temperature inside terminal was around 12-15 degrees celcius. No book store and food/drinks to buy after security at T3. If you want to buy food or drinks, you have to go in a seated restaurant and wait. Not the best option if you are in a hurry. The 2 stars is a thanks to the helpful staff uppon arrival to direct us to the hotel shuttles.

It is one of the most spectaculars airports indeed. Very convenient transportation system from the city.

The Airport Express Train is just amazing.

It's a good idea to allow extra time for transit. The security check is strict and it is a long line, there is a bus movement between terminals for transit, and it is necessary to enter and leave Japan, so it is time consuming and difficult to understand.

A good airport, if we are talking about Terminal 3. It is very large, quite comfortable, modern. Lots of cafes, inexpensive luggage storage. A high-speed train to the nearest metro station, runs frequently, quickly. Very convenient. There are free shuttle buses to Terminal 1 and 2. But if we talk about Terminal 1 and 2, then they are terrible, yes, everything is stupid and nobody (really nobody, even the information desk) speaks English at night (apparently the English-speaking Chinese do not work on night shifts). At the entrance to terminals 1 and 2, the security service may ask you to come with suitcases to them - they will shake a piece of paper from your clothes and luggage and put a piece of paper in a special device. What kind of test they did not answer us.

Very spacious and clean and the instructions are clear. Very modern and has lots of options for restaurants and duty freenya. The service is very friendly even though most of the speakers can speak Mandarin.

Clean, efficient and courteous personnel and security.
A big airport, you have to ride the train from arrival to baggage claim and from check in area to immigration, customs and pre departure area.
A wide selection of duty free goods to occupy your time while waiting for your flight.

Huge area, but not very sensible used. There are few food outlets, and local staff do not know English. If you need to spend the night in the city, then there is a separate customs control desk, but there is often a queue. SECURITY CHECKPOINT SCAM BEWARE - Be very careful while going through security check points in this airport. They split your stuff, hold the most expensive item and send it in middle of other people's stuff. They hope that you pickup all of your other stuff and leave forgetting about the separated item. They stole an iPad from our hand carry during security check point. The next time we were coming back to USA, we were very careful because we lost an item last time; however, they took our jewelry and money out of the bag and placed in a separate box. They never informed us that they had opened our bag and took things out. (There is no need to take cash out, it can be x-rayed) They do not do all this checking in front of you. They closed our bag after taking out the money and jewelry. After few other passenger left, we saw a box sitting on the side and then realized that it was actually our stuff. Luckily, we were there and got our stuff back. They separate one of your item and hope you leave. Hopefully this helps someone, BE VERY CAREFUL !!!!!!!!!!

We tried to file a complaint and all the employees pretended that they do not understand English. No one wanted to listen to us!.

Employees asking for bribes - One of the airport employee was helping an old lady on a wheel chair. After helping her, the employee started asking for $5, but the old lady offered 2 dollars because that is what she had. The employee sat in front of the old lady and demanded $5. After a while, the employee threw $2 on the face of the lady and left saying something in her language. Very disrespectful.

Always a nice experience at Beijing Airport except for security check part as its quite hectic and time taking. However, you will find very good restaurants and shops in T2 and T3 of the airport... Moreover, for halal restaurant is also available at T2 (probably on the third floor).

For troubles in the international arena, you need to take a shuttle bus.

Big Airport with a unique design. Cannot compete with European airports. No services for children. Air China Lounge is just average. Long waiting times at security check.

I was told to put my power bank into the checked bags and came home to find a piece of crumbled paper stating that they opened my bag, took my power bank, and 5 "flammable objects" which were included my huge external computer storage with loads of my travel videos on it along with other stuff. This place is a complete scam, gave me a terrible image of China. Beware of the men in golf carts offering help. On my way to Tokyo a man in the cart who had the airport staff badge on him came up to me and asked if I'm flying to Tokyo he then said that they are boarding and told me to get in or else I will miss my flight. I believed him since our security check took so long it was close to our flight It was a 1 minute ride to the gate and during that ride he demanded $20 from me, I said I don't have that money and won't give it to him and he started screaming and making a scene. Terrible experience I will avoid Beijing airport at all cost in the future.

It's a humongous airport. It's Terminal 3 alone is probably the same size as Malaysian KLIA.

Not all food outlets are aon 24/7. But I had pretty good experience here. Signages are adequate.

The electric sockets at the walls are only 2 types--how I wish they had made some for us who use the best caltrop designed socket in the world--the imperial British socket.

The worst airport I have ever done! Very cold person. Disrespectful control. During the stopover there is almost nothing to eat and most of the things are closed. The staff hardly bother to answer our questions. To avoid !

Beijing international airport has 3 terminals distance to each other, and there are free trains going from one to another. There is self-chek-in machine for the travellers. The airport is very wide with different kinds of cafeterias and coffee shops. The lounges are very nice and customers services are professionalism.

All in all a nice airport and well organized with clean and spacious terminals. Despite being very large it is not at all chaotic. Everything works accurately and the checks are performed well. The center of Beijing is about 30Km away. from the airport and the connecting lines are particularly efficient.

Whats up with your " register with your phone number and get an access code for free Wifi" stupid rule? Don't you know that you are an international airport where international travelers who may not have a global cellphone service? I had to talk to a staff member to get an access code for free wifi. Well, I could say that at least it is better than the New Delhi International Airport where I both had to register with my cellphone and then had only 2hours to use the free wifi.

Simply a mini city, you must be actively moving to get to your doors fast boarding and with time, wide spaces and a very synchronized attention of its people, it is important to emphasize that to move from door to door there is a service of cart type golf that airlines like Aires China offer for free, do not pay for this service the burdensome tips that some vivarachos ask for. Good connection with the airport train. Free wifi after registration. Free hot water for simple dessert soups. There are also quiet corners to relax.
The signposts for transit a bit confusing. To leave the airport during a stopover requires some negotiating skills.

Inefficient airport, sluggish Internet..... If you use Chinese cellphone, you have to submit your cellphone number to get a verification code to surf online... If you are foreigner, you are pretty much doomed.....

Even you get internet, there are CENSORSHIPS, so NO Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.......

Custom and security takes LONG time, leave yourself at least 4 hours+ if you transfer at Beijing, things at this airport is just super inconvenient!!!

Air China will never be responsible for your transfer, although on their website they give you something like 1 hour transfer, but in fact is just BS...... Once you get there they say sorry sir you have to spend another day here....

Many restaurants inside airport, prices are reasonable. Washroom is in ok condition, however baggage claim takes extremely long time!!!! Sometimes they easily lose your baggage and you have no where to complain about!!

Beautiful, spacious, plenty of stores and restaurants. Service guides are friendly. Prepare for long lines and large crowds and possibly impatient/aggressive people shoving behind you. One thing that takes away from the experience is that they claim they have "free wifi" however it never really works.

You can smell the haze in the public areas of the airport during the endless journey from and to your flight

We had problems from a connecting flight to Manila. The lines are long and i know that they will because this is a popular city.

In the second terminal, meager duty free, few places with delicious food. In a smoking-room automobile cigarette lighters.

The worst airport for if I was in Asia. I am begging you, learn at least a few words in English! I don't know how your nation can still exist ......

Security checking is so annoying. They should change the part of it. They should make bigger to make users comfy. I feel like, Even though this airport is the main hub of Air China, their international transfer system seems not stable. Plus, I wish there are more comfy snack shops for quick meal.

Huge airport, many seats, shops and waiting areas are available. However the staff (at all levels, security, customs, and registration) are extremely rude, they do not speak a word of English, and make no effort, myself who has been learning Chinese for 3 years I have had difficulty understanding and making myself understood. The wait at customs upon arrival is long and militarily organized, an ordeal of an hour. It is nonetheless pleasant to leave or arrive in Beijing, and to discover another culture.

Large clearance lines move very smoothly, is to take a lot.

The international transfer system is horrible. One has to go thru passport control which took me an hour as there were long lines. The to go thru the security is even worse. It is a total chaos. I had to wait about an hour to have the carry on x-rayed. The people keep on pulling things from the carryon and resend thru the x- ray even though they can see with their eyes wahat it is. In the process i almost forgot my belongings because they they place so many different items in different plastic containers. The lines are long and unmanageable. After going thru gruelling security, just before i am boardind the plane and am in the jetway i was pulled aside for another security check. She checked my shoes, belt, back pack and scaned me electronically. The woman even opened my wallet and flipped thru my dollar bills. Xi needs to do do something while they claim to be progressing so much. I will not use this airport again for a transit. It is a horrible experience.

We made a reservation st a hotel in a Beijing so we could sleep and sightsee during our over 21 hour layover There is a 72 entry to Beijing without a visa
Well NOBODY at the airport knows this or pretends not to. Almost every employee was RUDE. All they d say is NO OUT! When we asked how to get out They made up answers when found to be lying. They told us that for the 7/ hour entrance your next flight had to be in over 24 hours. Not true. They kept sending us upstairs to a place where we were locked in. No up or down.excrpt for staff
We asked what we are supposed to do for over 21 hours. They said NO OUT. Not to mention my friend is a smoker and asked where she could have a cigarette. All they d say is NO!
We stayed in the airport. My friend and I got separated. I asked everyone to page her. I was sent from one place to another. Finally I was told NO ANNOUNCEMENT! The woman said call her. Great if she didn t have my phone
After 14 hours I found there is a hotel IN the airport. VERY EXPENSIVE But well needed
They did offer 3 meals. But didn t tell us about them
10:35PM our plane took off. I was never so happy to leave a place as there
I almost forgot. When anyone checking your bags found anything they thought shouldn t be there. they d grab it and toss it behind them saying LIGHTER, NO! Could have said something more to the tone of Sorry no lighters. But of course I didn t expect it after all the wonderful care If had so far.

The Beijing Capital International Airport is pretty huge and impressive with its spacious beautifully decorated places to relax in around the airport. One can sit in one of these places and just enjoy the view of the pond and fishes swimming in them and also the design of these temple look-a-likes. There s also a small spa where you can get a nice range of different massages. Quite a few ways to enter yourself as well, as there are areas where you can sit on comfortable couches and watch movies or even go into a small booth where you can sing karaoke. There are a few shopping and food areas. However I wish there were some more popular food places and more shopping centers. There are some high end shopping places like Bulgari, Burberry and Salvatore Ferragamo. However there should be some more modern shopping stores such as Lululemon. And more food choices like McDonalds or more Chinese food eateries. I did notice that there are signs that read: More Shops To Open Soon.
Which does indicate that they are still working on improving the shopping experience for flyers at this airport. It s great what this airport has done so far. Very unique from most airports I ve been to in other countries around the world. Quite an amazing airport. Great Job China!

So much time wasted on check of bags. The police is like taking everyone like they done something wrong already. Nothing much to do here if you transfer flight.toilet super clean. If you wan to change money there, my advice is don't do it here because the rate is low.
