Beijing Capital International Airport is quite nice airport, but it takes a long time to get from the main terminal to your gate. Allow the full 3 hours recommended as you may be surprised at the obstacles in your way. For international flights returning home, do not forget your departure card! This is the paper you would have received when you arrived in China. Also before boarding your flight, I recommend buying a bunch of drinks at a machine at the gate as the price is low. The majority of staff don t speak english!!.
There is a delay usually in the flight.
There is some staff will ask for money to help you when you ask. that s something happened to me when I was here I really socked.

Anyway, it s wide. We had you pick up and drop off by car that had you arrange at visit. When I returned to Japan, the flight time was very fast and it should have departed as expected, but it was so busy from the middle that I couldn't find it in time. When you get to the airport, security is strict, but there are no problems and the procedures for entering and leaving the country are smooth.
Please note that immigration and security check will take a long time. I feel that it takes time especially when I leave Japan. It is troublesome to go from the check-in counter to immigration by monorail. Also, I'm a little disappointed because there are very few seats near the check-in counter.
It's a big and inconvenient airport. Always take off and landing. When will it be possible to control with chitin? That's why Japan's LCCs with a limited number of aircraft can't get in. ~ ( )
When you arrive at most airports, I think there are airport shuttle trains and buses in front of the immigration, but for the international T3 you will take the shuttle train after the immigration. We have others, too? Such a place? I understand that I share the shuttle service with the domestic flight of T1, but at the first time I was a little worried about whether I could receive a messy suitcase.
It became the current scale before the Olympics with Japanese ODA. Chinese people will not be informed of this, and if they do, they will not believe it. Explosion; ^ _ ^ A
The international gate area where I had my layover had literally ONE small restaurant hidden away in the back of the terminal. There were zero options for food besides that. And the seating was so minimal, dozens and dozens of people were forced to sit on the dirty floor. The bathrooms were so crowded with long lines out the doors.
Now Beijing Airport cannot do anything for my 14-hour stay between two flights. Neither for being a smoker. But there is no smoking in the entire building and who wants to mess with the officials there. I can also recommend everyone to just not have a lighter with them and to do without all power bank variants. Because these are collected rigorously. Our companion has even had it removed from their luggage. In any case, the architecture is very impressive, if only because of its size.
Now, Beijing Airport can nothing fot my 14 hour stay, between two flights. Nothing for that I am a smoker. But there is a non smoking area in the entire building and who wants to mess with the local officials. I can also recommend to anyone, just to have no lighter with you and to dispense with all Power Bank variants. Because these are collected rigorously. Our companion has even been removed from the luggage. The architecture is very impressive, if only because of the size.
Outside of the terminal staff's complete condition, the connecting passengers were asked to line up at the empty counter for an hour, after which another person told them not to wait in line. And no liquid can be carried even when connecting, which means that the duty-free alcohol bought at other airports must be discarded. This is an inexplicable rule.
The airport is very big. So many terminal and gate. Thousand of people using the airport at the same time. Very clean. There are free WiFi. If you fly from this airport should go to the airport early because it takes a few hours to check-in if your foreigner. The best airport for disability people.
It's too cruel. First of all, the response was Tekito, and I waited for more than 30 minutes in a long line for baggage inspection. There is no smoking area. And the manners of the customers are also bad. Garbage is scattered all over the place. I don't want to use it again.
The airport is modern and everything goes pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the staff speaks little to no English. There are some restaurants which are also priced ok.
Beijing Capital International Airport, the international airport of Beijing, China, is located in Chaoyang District of Beijing. It is an outer enclave of Chaoyang District in Shunyi District. It is the most important, largest and most transported international airport in mainland China. Is also the gateway to mainland China
Extremely long checks, zealous staff who spend most of their time on their phones. DutyFree closed at 8:30 p.m. ... Sad enough for a capital airport ...
Beijing airport. The place where you have to queue (in transit) to get a stamp so that you can join a second queue to get a stamp on top of the first stamp to join another queue for security, all of which is utterly pointless as you cleared security at the origin airport. This whole process took nearly two hours today. #rubbish
If you need to transfer terminal 1 to terminal 02 & have to print new boarding pass there are the steps, hope it might help:
1. Landing
2. Need to apply for 24hours entry visa. Get onto the queue, then find a BLUE cards to fill in all information.
Staff working here very slow (3x ladies extremely slow + sometimes u will see some male staff bring friends/families/tourists cut throw ur line without any explanation. If u are upset with them, they will shout back at you (True story: he shouted at me, once I said that is so unfair that he kept cutting the line & we queued for 2hours. He said he could make us queue up again if we upset him/ or visa wouldnt be approve by his friends. Yes, I telling you the truth )
3. After you got stamp on your BLUE cards, run to Customs (queue up & wait for the Arrival stamp on your passport in order to get out Terminal 1)
4. Finish Customs - go downstair. Catch train/subway to Gate C (last stop)
5. Collect your baggages
6. Go to gate to catch Shuttle Bus to Terminal 2 (about 15min driving)
7. Once you are at Terminal 2 (can relax a bit, it is faster here).
8. Scan your luggages to get inside.
9. Get boarding pass at your airline counters (must be done 30min before boarding time)
10. Go through security check again, scan scan scan
11. Queue up to customs (another Departure stamp on your passport)
12. Run to your boarding gate. Done
We flew from Mel to Seoul and have to stop over Beijing for transit (Air China to Korean air). It took us 5h30 for transit here; we arrived at airport at 5:00Am and only able to get to next fly only 10min before the gate closed. Many ppl missing their transit flights.
We have been travelled a bit to few airports Mel, Syd, Mad, Rome, Narita, Singapore airports, but Beijing was our worst of worst experience so far. Having said that my journey was very smooth and have no problem with Shanghai airport.
Beijing airport has No information desk available, staffs would give you different advices. Our tip is never leave your queue, if you travel in group better slipt up to ask around.
We followed a staff onto the train/subway and asked her which stop we should stop (Airport staff wearing office uniform - couldn t speak english/dont want to help)
Luckily there was one nice Chinese business look man who can speak English calmly show us the way, he knew all gate numbers/steps. We would surely miss our flight without his clear instruction. We feel so appreciated that man s help.
I wonder if people who speak the most spoken language in the world, Mandarin, complain as much as English speakers do about the employees all not being able to speak their language. I don't think that is much of a problem to get help in this airport. I use this airport frequently and haven't had problems. Sure, it might be a bit easier to communicate if you speak Mandarin, but it is definitely not crucial. This airport works like every other airport in the world, the departures and arrivals are posted. There are many signs to help you get to where you need to go.
They also have a variety of restaurants, including American ones for those less adventurous types.
Did not feel comfortable there. Be advised that here you need extra Time for everything, many customs verification checks, shuttle etc. During night hours nothing is open, only vending machine. There is free cold and Hot woter
The building is awesome. If you have to spend more than 3 hours for waiting your next flight, better to move to other parts of terminal 3. Near to the check in point, there are many restaurants (Thai food, Burger King, Halal food). You can have snacks or drinks at Family Mart too. I ate halal food at a restaurant named Majia Shumai.
If you want to be connected to the free wifi at this airport, better to have your own wechat account. Whatsapp is on still you can chat, but you can t either send or receive images or post status.
I have been here twice and Hate it here.. For transfer purposes, I had to check my cabin bag and both the times they took away my perfume and deodorant. I explained them that the perfume was not more than 100ml, They don't even speak English very difficult to interact with the security personnels. In the end they took my belongings. I'm never coming back here. Bye bye forever, Beijing..
Used for CHINA AIR transit. Arrived around 5am early in the morning and felt stressed during the 4 hour stay. 1. The map is not accurate. Obviously, it is upside down. In addition, it was a Korean restaurant when it actually went though it was described as a Chinese restaurant. (The store name is as shown on the map) 2. Can not easily rehydrate. There are no kiosk-like shops where you can buy small drinks and food at duty-free shops. There are vending machines in some places, but you can't use cards and you need Chinese yuan coins. 3. Inspection is severe. There is baggage inspection despite transit. The camera needs to get even a replacement lens out of baggage. Drinks purchased at the airport were confiscated. 4). I can't speak English at the airport. 5. The procession is too long.
The airport was large and disorganized and seemed to have no climate control of any kind. My family and I had a tour to see the Great Wall and scheduled a 10 hour layover to do so. However the immigration official, who was very unprofessional, had a mental breakdown and started crying when we finally got to the front of the line. She refused to let us into the country because she couldn't do her job. Her exact words were, "there is too many people here, I cant do this." My family and I then waited in the freezing airport for another 9 hours or so until we were finally able to get into the relative comfort of our airplane seats.
IT SEEMED AS IF MY FLIGHT WAS DELIBERATELY DELAYED IN HONG KONG FOR 5 HOURS. COINCIDENTALLY, TO MISS OUR CONNECTION IN BEIJING. ALTHOUGH EVERYONE WAS POLITE. THEY ALL SEEMED TO KNOW THE ROUTINE OF APPEASING PEOPLE TO RELAX IN THE AIRPORT FOR 17 HOURS. NOT THE BEST PART OF MY TRIP.
From Shenyang via Beijing to Frankfurt with Air China. International transit without baggage pick up, it is checked through, wonderful, no hurry to pick it up and recheck it in again. Someone organized it well. During midnight most shops closed, only gift shops open. But what wonder star bucks is open. They know how to pleasure hungry and thirsty travellers. In Frankfurt no face masks. We all were astonished , even Chinese can not understand this behaviour.
I don't know if it's because of the sadness ... I'm very dissatisfied as a Korean transit passenger. Too unfriendly and slow inspection system. And it is meaningless to cut the lines of local people so that it is irrelevant to line up. It's a short stop, but it's a bad place to stay.
A huge airport. Very easy to get lost. Also, double security check, even when you just international transfer, you need to go through the security check again. Remember to take all you camera, lens, iPad, and cables out at check point.
I thought the field would be congested and confusing, but at least my own journey was very painless. There was a bit of traffic at the border and at the border, but the queues were moving fast. Food good and inexpensive. Lots of shops to waste your last rnb. The field was clear to move
The service is improving year by year. With better service, prices will increase. Free Wi-Fi is available, but it is slow. Even if all services are blocked in China, Google cannot access it.
as far airports in China goes this is one of the better ones. You can get a login for the internet in parts of the terminals from Kiosks. still no Google or social media how ever I had Whatsapp working.
Definitely among the last places in my personal airport ranking. Extremely drafty, ice-cold at night, too warm during the day, loud announcements 24 hours a day, insufficient sleeping facilities, e.g. sleeping pods, etc., contaminated water dispenser, defective vending machines. Conclusion: avoid if possible.
The most unfriendly airport in the world, asked the same place, the airport attendant actually had four different answers, and half of the airport floor plan could not be found within half an hour! What do you want to eat? Chinese food? Western food? coffee? Don't worry, don't waste time asking the waiter, smell it on your own nose!
Very big airport. No doubt one of the best in the world. Prepared to have crowds of people, lots of area and different stores to satisfy them all. The architecture is amazing.
I Have nothing good to say towards Air China and the Beijing Airport. Not only do they have no regard towards politeness and professionalism. How we were treated there once we got there was enough to set an incentive to skip this airport all together. The lack of responsibility and assertiveness towards our delay was just adding towards the list of bad things we have to say. Along with that, they managed to lose our bags with very little explanation of how that happened. After tracking down our 3 out of 4 bags. We were told nothing was to be done about our 4th bags sayingg that it takes a day to recover try bag ( which happens to be our souvenir bag). 2 hours later and talking to the representative to take the situation seriously (he was conversing with coworkers and eating his lunch) by putting my foot down and was adamant to get my luggage, I managed to get it eventually. Back in the states now and we just found out they lost one of our items that we got for our friends kid brother. Nevertheless, It's been a very bad experience and I will never fly Air China nor visit the Beijing airport ever again.
Avoid this airport at all costs especially if you are flying United Airlines. Unless you have your wallet open and spending money, the local staff hide behind the language barrier. I was asked by immigration when leaving, "How much money you give me." Oh, and middle of winter the inside of the terminal no heat??? What major airport does that?
Strict entry controls but well organized. Since my flight from Guangzhou arrived very late and my onward flight to Munich was very tight, a lady from China Airline smuggled me through all the controls and I reached my plane at the last minute. Without their help, I wouldn't have had a chance.
Unfriendly staff and a very bad airport. There is a lack of everything and you always feel watched. Building is cold (temperature and atmosphere) and food choices a disaster. Security check bias against residents of certain EU countries. Bar carriers are particularly bullied.
Nice and modern, but too large. A lot of luxury shop but food choice is very limited after the security check, even in the international terminal. You need at least 2 hours from check-in counters to boarding gates, because of the long immigration process and slow security check.
As a major country, the Capital Airport is not qualified at all. It is not clear what is the meaning of waiting in line after security check? And some places have open air-conditioning, some places are too hot, and the seats in the airport are not enough for many passengers and people who pick up and drop off. It is quite uncomfortable to wait for the plane here.
As they say in other comments, an unbearable cold, a horrible 7h scale, above to have wifi you had to enter the passport in a machine that all the time told you system error and try another method, go to the third worst airport, what worse it was all the time that we were to go to where we wait for the scale that is the international flights, very slow everything.
I would have put zero but you can't, a sewer! Unfriendly, unprepared staff and their English is kindergarten. To be avoided like the plague, the most disgusting sucks, but so much this summer I avenge myself, eat rice and insects, damn it, when you come to the restaurant where I work !!!
I give 1 star 'cause i can't give ZERO !! Don't go there, staff really orrible, they DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU INFO OR HELP
Not very efficient and easy to use airport. I was lucky to catch the airport bus to downtown which is usually operating until last domestic arrival flight. BEWARE OF TAXI SCAM. Why does the management let those people in?? They even wear formal clothes as if they were official staff of the airport!
Airport security staff speak limited English. Long lines due to the tedious security check process. Not many shops are open at night. Choices of food are very limited. 2 out of 3 checked baggage were damaged by the baggage handlers. Worst airport experience so far.
