Stayed for a friends wedding. Beautiful venue and amazing food. Rooms were amazing with very comfortable beds. Lovely staff. Highly recommended
Disgusting attitude from the manager. If you have a problem don't expect it to be dealt with. Just expect excuses and to be called a liar. Do not go here! (The restaurant that is). I have no experience of the hotel. Might be great. But if they employ people to run it the way the manager runs the restaurant then I doubt it.
Visited on Sunday for the christmas fair, plenty of stalls to browse around
The hotel and staff were great, fantastic setting. Beautiful grounds shame the Stable restaurant let it down badly. Meal booked for 8.30, finally got in at 9.00. Three staff said they would return and take us in. Staff member said they had been fully booked for weeks, but obviously reception didn't get the message as they took the booking for 8.30. Had run out of our starter antipasto for 2 to share. Definitely wouldn't give them a second chance, not impressed.
Good hotel ... set in beautiful grounds. Stables restaurant very good, good "northeast" portions, attentive and friendly staff (some if whom we know from previous visits).
Didnt stay, but went on the ghost tour, 1st time, good night. Myself and a mate heard a clear sigh in the tearooms, and also in the winter gardens was a very cold spot near us, soon after graham said there was someone behind us, also another person said he thought he saw a figure behind us (where the cold spot was) im the mirror behind us. Awesome. The cellar was something else, (mainly because i only just fit in it ) black masses out the corner of my eye near the doorway, and the brave lasses who never swore once done really well considering the noises and moans coming from that corner they were in. Bravo!! Intresting place and deffinately something there waiting for show itself, would do another tour without question, and do the longer all night investigation! Great experience
Just posted a review but was meant to be for the pub not the hotel
Nice place but very average food. Certainly won't be rushing back.
Lovely place setting fab history abundance. Very popular plenty of grounds .food has always been great but sadly i think instead of putting up a quid they are economising badly!! Last visit they tried to give us a small bowl of veg between 4 people. Today we both ordered lamb. Plates came 2 small slices of what was fatty meat didn't have colour of lamb??it must have been cheap breast of lamb. I ended up with mostly fat. Complained knocked 10%off bill didn't charge 4 chessboard. That is not the point we go out 4 lunch to enjoy .
Great Oasis of facilities to many to mention all of them..
Beautiful place, great food and drink, excellent staff
Fantastic bathroom with jacuzzi but unfortunately our stay was rather spoilt by drunken wedding guests rampaging the corridors till the early hours
I was about to book a christmas stay here but they dont offer covid cover... will look to book in better times
Stables restaurant was lovely. Never been to the hall so can't comment but the grounds and setting is lovely
Having stayed at the other local Best Western hotel in whickham, and seeing the photos on the website of the rooms, I was so dissapointed when we got to our room, very dated inside tiny bed, the saving grace was the bathroom which was modern and had an enermous bath in. Unfortunatley won't be returning back to Beamish Hall to stay for a night, and the price made me feel truley ripped off. Beautiful building but in major need of a room refurb, we also had the issue of staff outside our room having left the trolley for servicing room so were awoke on sunday morning and disturbed until we checked out at 11am by staff being very loud outside the room.
Really nice. Lovely, comfortable room and facilities. The Stables restaurant did great food. Only real let down was the wifi was awful - and given that there's little to no phone signal, a decent internet connection if you need to do a little work is important.
Great little free play park for the kids. We went just before visiting Beamish and had our picnic on the benches near the park.
Nice place, friendly staff, went for the lunchtime specal, told today they don't do since menu change, which I found odd as I rang yesterday asking what time they served the lunchtime specal, told till 5pm???
Love this place dearly, film of character. Recommend
Very good stay, staff were very helpful and friendly.
Great place nice wedding venue. Staff were great and helpful
This is one of the most bautiful places in this region. The stables have live bands on sometimes and it is a great night out. Alcohol is obviously more expensive but it is worth the extra. We have had quite a lot of great nights out and never come away dissapointed. Halloween parties are great too. There is outdoor activities such as orienteering, high ropes, obsticle courses etc. You would need transport to get here as it is out the way from the main roads unless you walk half a mile. Beamish Museum is also local so could make a weekend of it.
The Stables is great pub/restaurant, shame beer is not great considering being brewed on site. Beer now is not a patch to what it used to be like when it first opened
Terror in the trees 2.0 was much better then last year..... but could have still been more frightening!.. not really worth that much money.. but was a fun experience...i think separating people to smaller groups.. and having more open space and less routes to follow... to find your own way out...whilst getting chased... that would be scary!!
Excellent food and friendly welcoming staff in all departments, made this a very enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable and furnished with charming antique style furniture, the bathroom was modern, bright and clean, with all amenities.
Absolutely beautiful building and surrounding gardens! We went to a friends wedding and the food was lovely.
The location was stunning; really beautiful and remote. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the rooms were luxurious
Great place, cracking grounds, menu is very reasonable too. Food was great. Great selection of beers, we did the archery and the high ropes too.
Beautiful premier room, booked an overnight stay for my husband's birthday and our anniversary. Staff very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to staying again.
Visited the Alice in wonderland woodland park. The kids loved it. There's a great adventure play park too
Stables restaurant and bar has a beautiful old courtyard containing micro brewery. All brews available in bar plus takeaway bottles and kegs. Bar and restaurant menu. Dog friendly in bar and courtyard. One of my favourite places.
Had the best wedding, would do it again tomorrow if we could, staff great
Fabulous place, for a snack, a full meal, or a few days stay in an excellent facility, with a warm welcome from very friendly staff, in stunning and beautiful surroundings. Ideal as a base to visit the area, business meetings, seminars, or if you haven't already taken the plunge, to get married in.
Just been to a wedding at the hotel and stayed overnight. This is a fantastic place with loads of character but is a bit pricey. Staff are lovely and really welcoming
Went for Christmas fayre not just Xmas things . Food and drinks tents to sample and buy too
Great service by both the restaurant and reception staff. Fantastic breakfast. Slightly dated furnishings but in style with the building itself.
Beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff
Good hotel & grounds shame about restaurant. Table booked for8.30 kept waiting outside for half an hour, excuses given not acceptable, food 2nd rate, glutenous jelly like sauces, over cooked meat, and lack of seasoning. I have worked in catering for over 40 years
Looking for a wedding venue for next year. Called last night for an initial look around and very impressed.
Absolute pleasure to stay there. Lovely pleasant atmosphere people are welcoming.
Great grounds in good weather! The Alice in Wonderland trail is great for the family.
There for beer festival no seats not well thought out
Fabulous place lots of outdoor seating with heaters for the cold
Amazing location and super beer garden. Food a little pricey.
Lovely old haunted country hall. Good food in the on site restaurant and excellent choice for breakfast. We had one or two housekeeping issues but they didn't marr our stay.
Recently had a 2 night stay to attend a wedding and had an amazing time. Great service from the friendly staff, with good food and a really nice room. Conveniently located next to the Beamish Living Museum of the North which is a great day out for the family. I would thoroughly recommend a stat if you're in the area.
I went to a friend's wedding doo
I didn't spend the night but seems Nice place
My husband took me there for my 50th birthday, I was overjoyed it was one of the best birthdays I have had, room was great, food was great, staff were great. I would definitely return.
Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff.the food is delicious. Would recommend 100%
Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Gardens are delightful and well-kept. Staff were professional, friendly and very helpful. Food was very nicely presented and tasted lovely. Highly recommended.
Myself and my husband both weren't impressed with our meals husband had cod and chips very small portion also Both meals served warm and Not hot dissapointed
Majestic surroundings and an extremely comfortable bed.
Bit run down. Could do with some care and attention.
Went for Sunday dinner with family. Beautiful place, fine food, friendly attentive staff, reasonable value. Will go again.
Amazing venue , excellent courtyard to sit in the sun and have refreshments
