The venue was extremely nice and the staff were excellent. However, the food was not good. The Chicken was dry and unseasoned and the vegetables were undercooked. The pudding was horrendous, too large and bland.

It's a nice place, but rather expensive for what you get. You'd be much better off staying somewhere that has a spa as there's little to do here. The Stables is a pub within the grounds of Beamish Hall and I'd recommend this place. Good selection of drinks, great food and good atmosphere with a nice outdoor seating area with heaters.

Wonderful hotel amazing location stunning grounds and our room with its antique furniture was lovely. Breakfast with its pure white napkins China cups and beautiful food was wonderful.a truly lovely experience marred greatly by a not restful second night when a large rowdy bunch of uni law students ran amok until well after 1am

Whether you want to stay in a luxury hotel or are just calling by on your walk with the dogs this place is great. (although not sure they let dogs in anywhere, there are always awnings up in the courtyard)

Had a very nice afternoon tea here, but it was spoilt because the facilities for wheelchair guests are not what you would expect from a hotel like this. The lift was too small for the wheelchair and we still had to get my aged mother up another 8 stairs to gain access to the Eden room where the tea was being served. Even on the ground floor it is not very wheelchair friendly.

I would have been disappointed if we had of paid much more for this experience(Alice in Wonderland). It's a great concept but it just needed a bit of a tidy up as it looked like they had rehashed a lot of previous events with sections badly hidden or boarded up.

For how much we did pay though, we did enjoy it and its worth a visit if you want something different to do for half an hour.

You will need to organise something else for lunch though as picnics are not allowed on the grounds.

Advice to parents with young children, buggies are not allowed in the experience

What an amazing experience. We got married here on Thursday and it was unreal. The staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly and helpful. The place itself was absolutely beautiful. Best day ever!!!
All our rooms for us and our wedding guests were clean, bed was sooooo comfy. Thank you so much to all the staff who helped make our day as special as possible.

Love & Thanks from Mr & Mrs Elsdon xxx

Lovely hotel. Nice, clean room. Couldn't seem to get the heating right, it was either too hot or too cold but that was probably our fault and we were only there one night anyway so didn't ask about it. Really nice breakfast too if not a little pricey.

just had my daughters wedding at beamish hall. What a wonderful experience. From the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left the next day the staff could not have done any more for us . The place was immaculate the service was unbelievable the food was incredible and the whole atmosphere was just amazing . So anybody thinking about a wedding do not hesitate to go to the beamish hotel. So a big thanks to all the staff for making our day just that bit special

Good hotel, and expansive range of facilities. Around the back is the brewpub and restaurant. I only used this for a wedding anniversary celebration, but the catering and staff were very good, well drilled in service too. It is off the beaten track however, so you'll probably need a taxi or such to get you here.

Great ballroom, lovely well-manicured grounds. I replaced someone at the last minute and they catered to my differing dietary requirements very well with next to no notice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Best 'Hall' in the area imo.

My room was disgusting with an inch layer of limescale coming off the shower head, brown marks & cracks all over the bath tub. Filthy room with dust & damp so strong you could smell & feel it when you breathed! Wouldn't stop there again for free! Which is a shame for such a historic place in a lovely setting!

Bed very small and a king size would have made it more enjoyable , food brilliant and staff. More welcoming at front of house with a more guided plan of how to get to your room would have helped greatly

We stayed here as it was very close to the Beamish Museum which was our sole purpose for the visit. The room was very large, grand and was perfect to be our base. It will be our new tradition, to visit at Christmas. The grounds are really pretty. The staff where very helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Large comfy room with jacuzzi bath and shower. Plenty of food choices at breakfast. The Stables Restaurant is a short walk from the hotel. Afternoon Tea was served in the Eden Room. Any cakes not consumed at the sitting can be boxed and taken home. Advance booking required. Good location for Beamish Museum.

Had a couple of nights here for a family get together and a visit to Beamish Open Air Museum. The rooms were oldy world, but well appointed, with a ridiculously comfy bed. The Stables Bar and Restaurant was an absolute delight. The food and Beamish Ales were excellent. The Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended! The most comfortable and relaxing hotel I've ever stayed in!

Wedding Stayover - fantastic building and surroundings when pulling into the grounds of the hotel made increasingly better by the warm welcome from staff in reception. Check in was very quick and welcoming.

Our room was good - I would say the bed was a little small but having spoke to other people at the wedding bed is room dependant. Overall the room was clean, tidy and decorated to match the theme of the hotel.

Breakfast staff were fantastic on both mornings, attentive and non harrassy just what you need on a morning!

Overall great stay and would recommend.

Bonfire night had the potential to be amazing but was unfortunately a massive let down. Not enough caterers meant waiting an hour for chips, but we thought we might as well as the advertised fair ground rides were too small for our 10 year olds.
The fireworks display started so late that people were starting to leave and there were rumours in the crowd it had been cancelled.
Attempting to leave was mayhem not a steward in sight just adding to the general theme of waiting around.
Felt like it was done on a shoestring, as many people rammed in as allowed. Brace yourself if you are going tomorrow. Let your kids take their iPads and headphones to entertain themselves and to block out the rave music.

Quaint and full of character. The hotel staff are very friendly and the service is very good. The grounds and location are also very pleasant. The restaurant serves pub food my cod and chips were big enough for 3 people. However some of my colleagues had the steak and were less satisfied. The breakfast was ok but it seems they can only do eggs one way - fried solid.

Had breakfast here on Christmas morning. It was delicious! The staff were super duper and the choices of what we could have to eat was wonderful. I'll be returning here in no time as an overnight guest I think. Top marks!

From check in to check out, the staff were amazing. Such a friendly bunch of people. We were very happy with our room, it was very clean. Food served was pretty good and parking was not an issue. We have already booked another stay here.

We have upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe purely for more space. A standard room however is still quite big if we wanted to take more luggage and stay 2 nights we may need a little more room.

Prices of food an alcohol were fair and we enjoyed both our evening and breakfast meal.

I would 100% recommend this hotel.
