Excellent venue for a business meeting although the acoustics in the venue room (which were never designed for such use) made some of the presentation a little difficult to follow. Wonderful tranquil setting, very friendly staff and excellent food provided

The stables have finally woken up and realised that a lot of their Beamish beers are good but nothing special. A Tiny Rebel cask and Neck Oil on keg have elevated the Stables right back up there!

Excellent place for food and drinks. We are both veggies and we have been on the hunt around Durham for a place that does a good vegetarian alternative Sunday dinner and this is definitely the place! We went to The Stables Restauarant and ordered the Puy Lentil and Mediterranean Vegetable Pie with a side of Seasonal Veg. Cane with an excellent portion size of roast potatoes, grilled parsnips, carrots, swede, green beans and a nice huge Yorkshire Pudding! And the Pie which was delicious! Desert was an amazing Sticky Toffe Pudding and coffees.

Highly recommend and will be back as a regular because of the quality.

A great venue for a wedding, a little tired in places and the beds were somewhat on the soft side. But it creates a grand impression and you cannot fault the staff they did a brilliant job. Good recommendation to host things

Ok.... here goes. What happened at Beamish Hall .....
Firstly, I won t go into exact details and relay names etc; that s for you to find out for yourself but I will say, the place doesn t disappoint. For it still being a new venue to investigate, I m amazed at how the spirits were interacting so quickly.
You know, during past investigations, I ve often had names pop into my head and never thought much of it but on the 2 investigations we ve attended at Beamish Hall so far, both names have been validated in some way or other so remember, speak up if it happens to you, there s a reason behind it.
My favourite places so far are Shatfo Hall and Eden Tea Rooms.
Shafto Hall - loads of activity on the boards; Breaths, movement and shadows and having the trigger object move across the hall whilst we were communicating was just WOW.... we didn t see it happen but where it started wasn t where it ended! It appeared the spirit had one girl picked out and they certainly let her know....
Cellar - Activity continued with the previous spirit following us down there.... touches to my legs, breaths, lights & sounds being heard just validated this.
Eden Tea Rooms - an earlier visit to the tea rooms produced knocks, bangs and various sounds but by the end of our investigation this was just amazing... we certainly hit a raw nerve with the spirit... so in steps rent a Ken .... Ken Lown definitely sparked tension with his tales of Masonic rituals.... with tables moving, vibrating and even lifting!!! Sounds, breaths and shadows definitely got our attention.
And just like that our was done.... until the next time.
Please don t sit back thinking the place ain t active.... I tell you it is.... help us get more validations and get to know the spirits who live at the Hall.
See ya next time for our next chapter! Xxx

A lovely hotel in a lovely setting. There is a friendly welcome from the staff and breakfast was delicious, served in the stunning Eden room. The room was neat, clean and classy and was kept warm throughout my stay. Good pub grub in the Stable restaurant at sensible prices.

Stayed on business. Everyone very helpful and friendly.

The room was not very big, and a little old fashioned, but clean and reasonably well equipped.

Hot breakfast was freshly cooked, and generous!

Very close to the Beamish Museum... thinking of going back there on holiday.

What a lovely place to stay for a few days, members of staff were very welcome and nothing seemed a problem for them, room was clean and tidy, lovely bed , and the restaurant in the stables was fantastic the food was superb and the beer was excellent from their micro brewery.

Bearish hall were hosting a we tee festival. We weren't expecting too much, just beer and a few bands in a function room. Turned out to be an amazing evening of great bands, great beers and a succulent hog roast involving the entire hotel. 10/10

We didn't actually visit the hotel it was the woodland walk. However we parked by the hotel and it looks very impressive. The woodland walk is Alice in wonderland theme, free and brilliant for the kids we had a great time.

We have returned to Beamish Hall after regular visits in 2002-2004.
Must have upped it's game since then which was great at the time...right...?!
Very disappointed to see that the fine dining restaurant is closed and replaced with The Stables Bar, whether that is down to Covid or a permanent move, we don't know. Great if you are after a casual jeans & T-shirt place to eat, like Witherspoons or TGI Fridays. Food was mostly fried, filling your plate with onion rings, the mussels were great, but lacking in a good selection of steaks...rump, really? opted for Sirloin...(it was ok), didn't like anything much on the menu. Also, I wouldn't dress up or wear heels, as you have a fair walk to get to the stables bar from your room. Oh & take a brollie because you will need one to go over to the bar if it's raining as you have to cross an open courtyard. We like after dinner comfort & lounging so we came back to reception and lounged on the chesterfields. They could do with changing the lighting to make it more warming & inviting and have the fire on. I suspect however it's the way it is because they want you to stay up at the bar rather than be relaxing in the main house.
The good points, comfy bed (but very small room). Beautiful building, beautiful grounds friendly staff, but I'm afraid the dining experience does not reflect the ambiance of old Beamish Hall which should be a priority in such a beautiful place and therefore, I'm afraid we won't be back.

Good hotel, and expansive range of facilities. Around the back is the brewpub and restaurant. I only used this for a wedding anniversary celebration, but the catering and staff were very good, well drilled in service too. It is off the beaten track however, so you'll probably need a taxi or such to get you here.

We were not staying at the Hotel, we were there with our Grandchildren for the fireworks and bonfire, it was so well organised, not overcrowded, the laser show was great as was every aspect of the night. Recommended.

Fantastic visit to the Adventures in Wonderland event. My boys really enjoyed the displays especially the interactive bits or anything they could climb over. Very covid friendly, although no toilets open.
