Some of the best bbq around. Get a platter with half fries, half hush puppies and then try all the sauces. Colonel bacon sauce is my favorite.

I had the pulled pork plate. Absolutely awesome. So tasty, and big portions too.

This is a must stop! Any one driving anywhere near here should stop for great barbeque.

We love this place and plan our trips around hitting it right for lunch. Sometimes we get the family dinner pack and take it up in the mountains when we rent a house and eat on it for days.
We love the mac salad. My wife does the chx bbq because she doesn't eat pork.
It's good. Don't hesitate. Go for it.

The drive to this little gem was just the beginning. We came from Monticello through some absolutely countryside and ran across this place. The food was very good, prices were good, plenty of seating indoors and out. Will definitely return if we get back through here.

I happened upon this place on my way thru town. i was looking for a place to eat and the appearance of this old rustic building drew me in. Nice white porch railing and blooming flower baskets hanging and a sign bearing my 2nd favorite word on a sign - barbecue!!!! (Beer being my fav word). The inside was as inviting as the outside. Everything was neat, clean yet authentic to the spirit of BBQ. Living in Houston I don't take my bbq lightly and these folks did not disappoint. I had the big pulled pork sand, seasoned fries, slaw and pickles. Everything was home made down to the selection of slaw and pickles. The smell of bbq and wood fire filled the entire block. The man in the back was tending to the fire and manning his bbq pit as if it were an engine of a ship. But the friendly service and pride in the place, by the staff, is what sets this place apart. If in Gordonsville, VA don't miss this place. Hell, drive up from Richmond, it's that good.

The food was better when it first opened. The Ribs are okay, The Pork Belly is inconsistent sometimes great other times not so much, Brisket is okay.
The most consistent meat item is the pulled pork.
Better results are achieved at home with a smoker, but they save you the time.

This place has charm and is popular. The ribs fall off the bone but I only ate half because its too salt. I couldn't taste any other spice. I not a big salt everything person but that was too much. Collard greens here are cooked with pork and strained to serve. I'd go there to pick more of it up. The boccoli salad I ate up so many yummies in there, but it does have peanuts in it which I was notified about. It's overly sweet like the cornbread but I was hungry. If you have high blood pressure and/or diabetes stay away. I'm a diabetic who thought made smart choices trying a new place.... oops.
My husband's pulled pork was greasy as you can see. He liked everything else.

My hubby and I took a chance and detoured off I-64 to come here on Valentines' Day, We will definitely make that detour again. Loved the chopped brisket!! Best I have enjoyed. The pumpkin muffins are yummy, and staff very friendly and helpful.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Easy call in and pick up. Portion sizes are great...oh and loved the pickles... definitely give this place a try!!!!

Generally tasty. The chicken and brisket were tasty. The ribs were tasty but a bit undercooked. The spicy slaw had too much spice and the spice wasn't well mixed thoroughout the slaw. The collards were great. The chicken took a long time to come out from the kitchen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Limited beer selection, but good choices. I'll give it another try.

Conveniently located, this semi-small eatery offers dine-in (either inside or on the front porch) as well as takeout ordering. If you decide to eat on the premises, you'll find no less than six (6) varieties of bbq sauces on each table to choose from. They offer one (1), two (2), & three (3) meat platters, sandwiches, multiple side dishes, and a variety of desserts. Stop by once, and you'll find yourself returning again and again. Highly recommended!

Great food! A little pricey for lunch, but worth it!

First place I've found that does smoked tofu, and it was soooo good! (Pictured below) super flavorful and I'm surprised no other place I've found does this.

Great brisket, their hogfire sauce had the great amount of heat! Just passing through this little town but if I ever find myself here again I would definitely stop by again!

One of the best BBQ places I've been to! Amazing food and portions are generous. The price is also very affordable. The staff is nice and helpful too. Just be prepared to wait a little bit, the line moves quickly but they are very popular. Don't worry it's definitely worth it! Ribs and brisket are fantastic and their greens a great! Can't go wrong.

My favorite BBQ place in Virginia. I tried the pulled pork the first time I went. I've been back probably a dozen times and I've never tried anything else off of the menu besides the pulled pork, it's seriously that good.

Everything is great, I have not had a single disappointing order.

It was worth the wait! Couldn't decide what to get so my husband and I split the 4 meat platter. Brisket was our favorite but the sausage had a wonderful hidden spice that was delicious!

Hickory smoked barbeque, fried riblets, hushpuppies, slaw and all the fixins! This place is delicious, the atmosphere is homey if you're on the inside or on the deck! Liked the cafeteria style ordering which gave you a nice preview of what was to come! We will be back!

Excellent food. Slightly limited options but more than make up for it in taste. I really wanted the Hell on a bun but apparently it's a challenge sandwich with every hot sauce on it. Sadly it's the only way to get Mac and cheese balls. I just got the Heaven on a bun with Mac and cheese and it was amazing. I was just driving through but I'd stop here again in a heartbeat.

Pork Belly, Ribs and Pulled pork were amazing. I felt the Brisket was mediocre. Sides are all good. 100% would recommend.
