In general atmosphere was good. Went to pick up desert, waited at the bar for 10 min before got attention (granted it was busy but odd we have to talk to bar tender for takeout)."chocolate nemesis" was missing ice cream as described on the menu. Only found out when got home as it was packaged well. Really wanted that ice cream...
Favorite place to eat in Waterloo! Great atmosphere and the Sunday brunch is to die for.. go for the Eggs benny or the French toast you will not be let down.

This place never disappoints! I have been here many times and the service and food are exceptional! Last time I had the Bauer burger and I can say without any doubt it's one of the best burgers in town. The patty was prepared and cooked to perfection. I still drool a bit just thinking about it so I will have to go back soon. In other words, if you have not been here yet, you have to go treat yourself! P.S. also a great place if you have dietary restrictions

Food was okay, excellent service! Appetizers were good, pizza and chicken were mediocre and dessert wasn't great. Give it a shot, your experience might be better! However, if you're deciding between this and another place, choose the other place!
We came in to look at the menu and the workers at the front door decided to gossip about us while we were close enough to hear it. We won't be coming back.
Great atmosphere and location. There s a spot for dogs outside with a couple mats, dog bowls and leashes, I really liked that. Service was good, but it could be better, specially with this kind of prices.
I was there for brunch: had steak and eggs, which were just ok; the steak was hard and the potatoes were very plain, tasted like freezer home fries.

Good food, good prices, good service. Great place to go for a decent dinner and atmosphere. Doesn't compete with some of the high end restaurants in the region for quality of food but falls into the niche of a step up on the chain restaurants.

Very high priced food. A ceasar salad with checken came to $24. Shocked at the price as the server notified me that a checken add on was $5 on top of the salad. When I got the bill it was $8.95 for the add on. Food also took a while to get to the table. When you pay extra for food/service, it's good if they actually can achieve it.
Other than that, the food itself was delicious.

My experience today at Bauer Kitchen was horrible. I am a regular customer over here and I feel like this is one of the nicer restaurants in the area. The food was up to par as usual but the drink service was dismal. Our server, Arielle did not provide us with drink menus. Subsequently when we ordered whiskey sours, she did not provide us with the information that the menu includes two kinds of whiskey sours; the regular and the Bauer special whiskey sour which has orange juice. She assumed we wanted the special whiskey sours even though the universal recipe is whiskey with lemon juice (plus other variants depending on the place) which is a completely different taste compared to orange juice. When we asked why it tasted unusual, she insisted that the ones we received were the regular ones. Furthermore, upon checkout she threw all the bills on the table, shuffled randomly rather than hand each customer their respective bill. Very hostile attitude along with a hint of racial profiling.
Love the fresh local options and the rustic atmosphere is awesome.

This place is amazing! I had the braised pork gnocchi, it was orgasmic. Catharine made us feel right at home, and each of her suggestions were perfect. I'd come back any day! Hopefully I get Catherine again!

Simply excellent from start to finish. You can really tell that they care about the customer. I had the steak frites and my steak was cooked to order and the fries were seasoned excellently. Will definitely be coming back in the future

Food was good, service was absolutely fantastic. Extensive bar list with a wonderful selection of cocktails, wine and beer! Cappuccino for brunch wasn't anything to write home about but not awful. Definitely would drop in again.
New York foodie quality in the middle of a modest sized city in southern Ontario. Fantastic short ribs, fantastic most other things. The drinks are well made and the wine selection is on point.
Great design and feel in this place. Sat at the bar, service was quick and friendly as well as knowledgeable. Had the truffles polenta (could use a touch more truffle) Caesar salad and the tuna poke. All in all a great experience we will be back for sure
Overhyped. Food is just OK but nothing special. Also the loud pop music makes me feel like I'm listening to the radio and doesn't suit the ambiance, makes me want to leave quicker

Great place for a swank night out, or ending the evening with a drink. The staff is always friendly and able to help you make an informed culinary selection. The beer selection changes every so often, just to keep things different.
Honestly, it's one of the better and more classy places I've dinned in Kitchener. However, for the first time since starting to go there, a waitress was less than diligent with my order when I was out with friends. She was very clueless. Lucky for me there was another one around who over heard my complaint and helped me get the service I needed. Over all - still a wonderful place!
Quality food and service for business or pleasure. Love going here and they have a great private room in the back for functions that can probably hold 12 people.

I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner and have had good experiences both times. Staff is friendly and attentive and the food is great, the menu is smaller so they do everything well, I suggest trying whatever the special is though.
Had a nice business casual lunch... 7 of us... The staff were very accommodating as we had made a reservation for 6 people. Gets busy in there shortly after 12pm for the lunch rush.

A tastefully trendy venue with an excellent menu to please both adults and children. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. Itried their pecan crusted french toast today. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was large enough I had leftovers to bring home. My children polished off the entire serving of kids pizza and my husband thought his chicken club sandwich was very tasty. We will definitely be back for date night soon!

Brunch here is a very good experience. Other meals are good too, but brunch is my favourite. They've got a pretty good drinks menu and a decent wine list. It's a good date spot.
The Staff, the Nevins are low life thieves and also whispered racial slurs under their breath after leaving my table. I ve never felt so attacked trying to enjoy a meal with my family.

Nice place, closes very late for Waterloo. Had "the burger" which was good. Service a bit slow but it was quite late and people were preparing to close.
Food was decent but it was difficult to have a conversation with the people at my table because of the music and it wasn't full that night.

Ambience is good. Tried Tazza and not rating it high. Chicken roasted strips was dry and rubbery. Remaining part is like mixture of salads and not worth the price paid
This restaurant is so good as an option for everyone. Their menu has a great selection, and they also have really good vegan options. Their pizza is very flavourful and their vegan brunch is great. The service has always been good and very accommodating.
