We went here for my boyfriend's 25th birthday and we couldn't have been happier with the service, quality of food and price.

Yes, it is a bit on the high end but it's definitely worth the extra $. The chocolate cake was decadent but not heavy, sweet but not so sugary. The steak was delicious! We will definitely be coming back!

Dishes are created to perfection! Their fresh ingredients really shine in the food and add beautiful flavours. Their drinks are crafted with care and they take time to ensure they are made to your expectations.

I'd been here before and had a great experience but this time the chicken in my squash risotto was far too salty and overcooked. The risotto was delicious but I was still pretty hungry afterwards which was kind of disappointing.

I had the hoisin duck wings and a great salad here the last time I was here so "your mileage may vary"

Good food, a bit pricey. Perfect for a date or night with friends.

Had takeout from the Bauer Kitchen on the weekend. All four dishes were great. And they have lots of Gluten-free options. I highly recommend.

We googled "best Waterloo restaurants" and this place was listed. Did not disappoint. Definitely appreciated the underground parking since the weather on our evening out was cold and wet. The staff here are definitely on a higher level than most other restaurants. They took our coats, made us feel welcomed and were very attentive. The food and drinks are a little pricey, but I think it's worth it if you're looking for a high quality night out. We split a salad, and ordered steak, pizza and a couple drinks which came to $94 before tip. Would definitely go here again.

Food was delicious, service was kind of stoic and forced politeness, but nice.

Decided to give The Bauer Kitchen a shot after seeing it so often and I was beyond pleased with everything. There was a small issue with my wife's beef tenderloin, the staff went above and beyond my expectations when the issue was brought up with our waitress Ioana. I couldn't have been more pleased with what management did for us. This was our first time here and it was to celebrate our engagement. We will be coming back for sure! Highly recommend.

Sunday Brunch. The location is gorgeous and the service top notch but unless you really want a cocktail with your eggs benny I'd recommend any of 10 diners in town for a better faster cheaper version of the same menu. Still adore Bauer for dinner...but perhaps just that.

Loved the salad and mojito! I had asked for a virgin mojito but was given a regular. When I discovered about half glass down, it was exchanged at no extra cost! The staff were really friendly yet professional. Great ambience for all! Impressed that they have a kiddies menu!

This last time I was at the Bauer Kitchen for my going away party, I was disappointed with the speed of service and the quality of the food. I was very disappointed because I have been time to Bauer many time and often the food far exceeds my expectations. This time, I had to send one item back and my friend found a bug in her drink. I will probably still go back but not for dinner.

Well priced, great food, nice staff. Music could be a touch quieter.

Staff were very attentive and food was mostly good but chicken added to the salad was very dry. And considering the prices, it was unacceptable to serve my wife dried up chicken on her salad.

Food and service is always amazing. Our food was coming out slow due to a couple large groups and our server was nothing but amazing dealing with it

Delicious. Had the duck wings which had a nice kick and then salmon as a main which was cooked perfectly.

Service was nice! Our waitress was patient with our group considering how long it took us to order (we were pretty chatty before we got to look at the menu). We sat outside on the patio which was nice under the tall warmers. The hot air was basically blasting on us which was fine considering how cold it was. My friend got a pasta dish with shrimp and mentioned that it was too vinegary? But my burger was amazing and quite filling! Overall, pretty good :)

The food was excellent and very delicious. Priced decent for the quality.

A little slow on service. I guess it's because of the lunch time rush on a Sunday.

****Warning for parents with toddlers.****Do not use the booster seat!!!!, the chairs are not suitable for the booster they provided. My nephew fell off the booster because their chairs are not a solid surface. The booster seats have warning labels on them stating that they are only to be used on solid surface chairs.

Very nice place to go and eat, good selection of drinks and a pretty nice party room in the back.

Very good pizza. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable.

One of my favourite restaurants in the area for sure. Pricing is fair and the food is always excellent. Service is good. Can't recommend it enough.

I visited the Bauer kitchen yesterday, and the plate was dirty and was contaminated with food from another plate. That was my last time going there !

The food was quality and the atmosphere is nice. That said, the menu send a little limited - which is alright when dishes are innovative or experimental, but it seems that the offering is more typical fare in which case the should be more options.

The best brunch in town and their customer service is always great!

Best meal we've had in a long time! Everything was outstanding! The chocolate nemesis for dessert was heaven. We also had a completely amazing waitress. Very attentive and when we told her we were going to the hospital to be induced and have a baby, she sent us off with banana bread! I haven't been so impressed with a restaurant/ meal from start to finish in a long time. Highly recommend!

Chicken dish was served visibly raw, not sure how it got past the chef or the waitress ? Sent it back and was served a new dish.
We ordered wine with our meal but they did not have any of what we choose chilled, they tried to make up for it with a complimentary glass of wine , my husbands glass was full , mine had a splash of wine in it, kind of strange.
They had put the bottle of wine in the chill blaster and came to serve it almost at the end of our meal. Waitress tried using a corkscrew on a twist off cap to open the bottle.
After our glasses were poured once we were on our own to pour the remainder.
As it was my husbands birthday it was an extremely disappointing meal.
No adjustments were made to the final bill.
More training seems to be required throughout the entire restaurant

Food is unique and pretty tasty. The lights on the floor are pretty bright and blinding....don't look down while walking.

Very loud even at breakfast, friendly staff, cool decor. The Huevos Rancheros was tasteless and had zero relationship to any Mexican cuisine we've ever had.

Their menu is very very limited and also does not have any intresting options. They serve beer but there is no menu for it.
However, the service is great and it has a nice environment.

Always request this place on occasions! That means, i usually only get to get maybe once or twice a year. But its always great. Sometimes, its hard to hold a conversation because its so loud, but that is common these days with restaurants. Other than that, I Never have any complaints. The birthday Brownie never disappoints. Give this place a shot!! And don't forget the bakery next door!!

Good restaurant to pick if you're not sure what to have but want something tasty. Brunch is good but some times the poached eggs can be 1 soft 1 hard, and the biscuits can be dry on the benny. (happened a few times, still went back)

First off, our table had great service.

I ordered the Baja Tacos and they tasted like nothing. I even squeezed them with lime and peppered them and nothing. The fish was not seasoned, the sauce was very bland. It didn't even taste like there was a little bit of salt. Presentation was good.

Then I ordered salmon (seasoned this time, yay) and it initially came to me raw, the whole centre of the steak looked like sushi. I like when my salmon is just a bit pink, very moist and effortlessly flakes on the fork. I told our server it was raw. Our server took it back to the kitchen and it came back tough and rubbery. Over-cooked. I'm not someone who enjoys to send food back so when she asked me how it was, I just told her it was fine. But I could only eat half.

Friendly service, delicious pizza and wasn't super packed when I visited. Will be back

We went for dinner a couple of days before Valentines Day (to avoid the rush) and had a very nice time. Our server, Des, was absolutely sweet and fun. She seemed to be newish as a server by her attitude and effort helped make our evening awesome.

My wife had chicken (5 stars). I had steak (3 stars... it was cool). However, the deep fried cheese curds are probably the best appetizer we ve ever EVER had. I m going to try to surprise my wife with a take out order of these sometime soon.

This was our 5th visit to this restaurant in the last two years. Will be back again soon.

The quality of food is always very high and they carry a lot of craft beers and quality wines!

Wonderful meal! Nice flavour combinations! Everything is homemade and they gladly take any requests. Service is outstanding! Visited from Hamilton and very much worth the drive. This restaurant is now in our destination rotation.

Came with a group of 16 for a surprise birthday celebrationate last year and had the back room. They were so accommodating and helpful. Let us go around in the back hallway to get to room. The food was fantastic, staff friendly, and drinks came promptly. Have only had great experiences at this restaurant.

Definitely one of my go to spots in the area. I love the whole menu. You have to try the confit duck wings one of my favourite things on there. Breakfast, lunch or dinner you won t be disappointed. The staff is kind and friendly every time I go.

Good service and mediocre food. We went for brunch. My partner had the Bauer Proper and I had the special - pineapple & coconut pancakes.

The Bauer Proper was okay. Bacon was fantastic. Eggs, sourdough, and beans were good. However, the home fries were undercooked and tomato was not cored, which made it unpleasant to eat.

One of our favorite places to go for a nice dinner. I always liked their interior design and the service is always spot on. However, something prevented me to give 5 stars and when digging geepet i realized that its the food. Its solid 4, but not 5. Of the more successful dishes are ahi tuna and deserts. My pasta (tried their tiger shrimp and gnocchi) and burger are always so so.

Nice place that always has good options. We vame fot brunch and a nice mix of breakfast and lunch options were available. My burger was good but not amazing, and the bun fell apart pretty quickly. I expected a little better in that regard from a place with an in-house bakery, but it was a good experience overall.

Visited this place when visiting friends in Waterloo. Great brunch place. The food was very delicious and the environment was perfect. Service was also very friendly. This is my friend's (a local) favorite restaurant.

Such an enjoyable experience tonight. Wait staff and front of house were phenomenal. The food was fresh and delicious. They have a large wine list to choose from and there is great atmosphere created with the wood, metal and pot lights. This will definitely become a regular date night spot for me!

Great food and service here, along with a nice atmosphere. I order the Smoked Chicken and Mushroom Tagliatelle and it was to die for, would definitely come back again especially for that pasta!
Expensive but worth it, just make sure you check the prices of the wine before you order it.

Burger was tasty but a little dry. Service is always excellent.

I hadn't been here in a couple years. The food took awhile but the server apologized. My margherita pizza didn't have much cheese and was just ok. Not worth the $18 for lunch. Disappointed that they don't have the old TBK salad anymore as it was amazing.

Such a fan. Great options for my whole family. Warm environment staff is quite welcoming. Bakery right beside is great as well. The food here is excellent and it has become my new go to spot for dinner as a third year UW student.

It was a VERY cold night but the walk back to my car was made muscle easier by delicious sticky pudding and vanilla bean ice cream!

The customer service at Bauer Kitchen is phenomenal. Cindy is professional and goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service.
Her efforts have made me a return customer.
