Lovely food and service. Also a stunning location to look across the water.
Lovely food and service. Also a stunning location to look across the water.
Great service. The tropical crush was amazing. I did not enjoy the galantine. The barramundi was great, crispy skin, well cooked. The wedges are fantastic here, light thin and crispy. Atmosphere is relaxing here. Enjoyed my experience thoroughly. You do pay a premium for the location and scenery.
Top class and food. If you want to impress your significant other. This place has it all.
The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. New menu with the reopening
The Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral Beach is a treat for your taste buds and senses. We enjoyed a set menu lunch overlooking the bay. It was mid winter early August enjoying our sumptuous lunch watching people sun baking and swimming in the middle of winter!! The staff are attentive, engaging and friendly, the food very good and...that view! Another example of Sydney at it's finest in Winter!! Highly recommend this place!
Loved the food, service and location. Garry looked after us very well and helped us with choosing the food from the menu.
For Bathers Pavillion Bistro - Enjoyed a very nice lunch here at the second lifting of COVID19 restrictions, where restaurants were allowed to have 50 diners at any time. I ordered the Steak Frite and it was cooked to perfection. The other dish ordered was the Seafood Linguini, the seafood felt fresh and pasta was cooked well.
Service was fantastci and attentive. There were lots of seating but I didn't feel it was overcrowded. I would imagine that it will be very busy when restrictions are fully lifted from COVID19. It was a great dining experience. The price was on the higher side, costing about AUD100 for two people to dine in. That's for 2 mains, sparkling water and a single dessert that was shared.
Limited menu but executed well. View from bistro even better.
A small selection of pricey food however it's setting is great for special occasions and the rich
Wonderful restaurant and location. Vegetarian dish was spectacular and the dessert amazing. Service was excellent.
Very good place for leisure time enjoy the beach sunshine there
Had the degustation menu here on a weekend to celebrate a friend's significant birthday but will definitely not be returning again. The great views and relatively mediocre food was far overshadowed by the extremely poor service, absolutely below what we expected for paying $160 per head plus drinks. Not only did the manager and majority of the waiters seem unfriendly and disinterested, they were also unprofessional and careless. We had to ask several times for our drinks and they were taken away before they were even finished. There was no explanation of the menu and there were several courses brought to our table where nobody bothered to tell us what they were. The table was not cleaned and by the last course was full of food scraps. Waiters walked past without making any eye contact and were not courteous, one bumped into me and didn't bother to apologize. Extremely disappointed by the rudeness and arrogance of the restaurant staff, one of the worst dining experiences I've had and definitely would not recommend this to others.
Excellent food and great atmosphere thanks to the new fit out
Celebrated our Anniversary here today and loved it.
The most amazing food and wine! Will certainly be back!
Great service & staff!
Thanks!!
Great coffee, great food, awesome view with a cool summer breeze...what more could you want?
Excellent venue for lunch with your loved one. Sweeping water views enhanced our dining experience.
Superior customer service was observed with special mention to Ishan who attended to our every need.
Fabulous meals, great flavours, adequate portions and well priced.
Future booking already made for return dinner
The food is pretty good here. Tasty and they have a versatile and interesting menu. Our waitress was in lala land and completely disinterested and forgot our drinks however some of the other staff were quite nice and friendly
It is really good to sit by the window.
Food prices are a little bit but taste is good.
We had the 7 course degustation menu with matching wines and it was perfect! Going back again soon
great place 4 after dinner drinks, n cuppa night cap!
Mushy prawns, uninspiring sashimi entree, long poorly managed queue up for buffet that was under stocked. Food just ok. Poor service we were told no seconds on bread rolls! Children had fish & chips they could have had for $15 plate tops any day of the year. Dessert nice but on 1 round table with long queues again. Lucky we had our family with us to save Xmas. We will never eat Xmas lunch here again
Relaxed atmosphere with great views of Balmoral beach. Food was great. We enjoyed the anchovy and prawn pizza; seafood, squid ink linguine and amazing creme brulee with citrus flavours!! Yum!
We visit Bather's every few weeks, and find ourselves generally impressed with the offering. The cafe is an institution and can get quite busy, especially when the weather is good. The servings verge on the smaller side but are usually cooked with care, the service can be quite slow and at times indifferent, this in particular seems to have become a regular feature in recent visits. On our most recent visit we found ourselves left underwhelmed, as in addition to the slow service the food didn't meet the standard you expect from Bather's - I will give them some leeway as it was father's day, however, the cafe is usually busy so they should be able to cope. The 'Balmoral Breakfast' consisted of a slightly undercooked hash brown, a single slightly undercooked rasher of bacon and a single small spoonful of scrambled eggs... at $24 this either needs to be of exceptional quality and/or a larger serving. Instead I left disappointed and slightly hungry. However, I would stress that normally the food is excellent and we hope that this is an aberration.
I attended a wedding. The ocean at the bottom was magic, the food was good. I received great attention from the staff, until I asked for drinks, the staff didn't know how the coctels were preparing, and I asked about the year of the whisky and again they didn't know and they got upset for my questions. Even if I was a picky customer, the bartender in the party handled the situation really bad. Nevertheless, I highly recommend the place for any important celebration.
Great food
Great service
Great ambience

Place to be
I've been coming here since I was a kid, so the nostalgia is real. I do have a soft spot for this place. Fantastic location right next to the beach, friendly staff and a wood fire in winter (walk to the back area). The cafe food is average and rather pricey, but man, the location. Desserts are worth a try. The restaurant side serves great food and has exceptional service, but bring your credit card - you'll need it. I'm not sure what it is that I love about this place, but I keep coming back.
Bathers Pavilion is my favourite place in Balmoral. With the best location on the beach, impressive service and a fun, bright atmospheric, beach vibe, the restaurant is perfect for a Sunday breakfast or lunch. The menu is fantastic and caters for all tastes. I always enjoy the granola. Balmoral is beautiful and Bathers Pavilion captures the beach atmosphere perfectly.
Always great for a weekend lunch for couples or family and friends with most tables having a great view of the beach and water. The menu caters for all tastes and dishes are presented superbly.
A wonderful establishment that never fails to please, even after all these years. Amazing views of Balmoral beach, fabulous food and a beautiful, breezy dining room. A must-do for tourists and locals! Highly recommend the tuna tartare and miso trevalla.
The Bathers Pavilion Restaurant is located in the Mosman Bathers Pavilion on The Esplanade, Mosman. It overlooks Edwards Beach and Balmoral Beach. The restaurant commands the excellent vista of Hunters Bay, with Middle Head and the Grotto Point Lighthouse in view.
The restaurant is contemporary with an open dining area with an appealing atmosphere for fine dining. The food is of course excellent, with meticulous care taken to use quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. I went there for a Monday lunch and there was a reasonable crowd, so booking is recommended.
One issue though, is being Balmoral Beach, the parking is at a premium. Paid on-street parking is available at The Esplanade, but it could be challenging at busy times. Alternatively you can get there by taking the Number 257 bus from Chatswood. You can catch the bus from the Chatswood Interchange, Stand D.
One funny thing happened to me though. I went to the restroom and didn't look at the signage properly and ended up walking into the Females. On closer inspection, the Female and Male signs for the toilets aren't very clear. May be a bit too arty than practical.
arrogant Euro-backpacker waiting staff, overcooked fish, mediocre wines, never worth the money. lucky they have the location. tired.
Had Hot chocolate , Cappuccino and Scorns with my hubby.
It was such a pleasant moment and
Always love the staffs smile.
One of my favorite places in Sydney, great food, great atmosphere.
Good coffee. Service is prompt. Excellent location and views.
Good food and incredible location. Staff were excellent.
Great place. Atmosphere. View. Service. Food. All great.
Great food and atmosphere. Also family friendly dining in the Cafe.
Breakfast and service was good, but they forced me to leave a tip which I found was a little confronting..
Service was ok but they botched our order twice. The Sourdough toast was brown and soggy....their green juice was essentially apple juice and ice...no other flavour of the kale, celery and spinach mentioned. With so many other fabulous breakfast spots in Sydney I would struggle to return here even if the position is fabulous. $50 for a underwhelming breaky and that didn't even include coffee.
Fresh tasty creative food. Beach view. Great options for vegetarians as well as well as many meat and fish dishes to choose from. Friendly staff and large wine selection.
Sadly this restaurant is not worth paying, we had their degustation menu, but all were below average.
All dishes served tasted premade prior to the dinner time, and just warmed it up to serve.
Such a disappointing meal, and the dish had a hard plastic piece in one of the dishes, and no chef bothered to come out to apologize as such.
Totally not worth the price, if I were to pay for the meal, probably 50 dollars for the degustation course.
Better go to Ormeggio where the food and service are top notch unlike Bathers Pavillion. Completely failed fine dining experience.
Just got ripped off $8 for a what would be considered a small chips almost anywhere else. Asked for tomato sauce for the side and was told yes by the girl, who then turned and asked the other girl if they had sauce. And ended up receiving tartar, which I can not eat. Chips where chalky like they had only just qualified as cooked.
How do you mess up hot chips? Seriously.
Love this place. Come here on a week day sit next the widow and watch the world go by. In winter they have the fire place going. Staff are friendly, great coffee and fantastic food.
From the moment we entered the staff were fantastic. The food, wine and service were great. We had betel leaves, duck relish and both salads. Flavour explosions! My fourth visit and I'm back soon. Wonderful space at the best beach in the world.
All time Sydney iconic cafe/restaurant. It has a cafe and restaurant section, serving brunch to fine dining option. Beautiful beach view with delicious food.
The view of the ocean from the pavillion is very serene, and the Bistro offers western dishes. They have variety of choices, would be great to dine in with family and loved ones :)
Fantastic location and view but poor service from staff. After being seated we were not acknowledged for over 30 minutes. After making multiple attempts to raise the attention of the staff we left without a word said.
We ate the degustation menu yesterday and it was absolutely top notch. The wines were perfectly matched, and the private room and surroundings were luxurious, cosy and we loved the entire experience! The team who looked after us were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. Well done guys 11/10 fabulous afternoon :)
Snotty, overrated place. Well past it's time. Very badly managed.
Excellent brunch, charming staff and best view of Balmoral beach
I attended a wedding here this month. It's was an amazing location, great good and excellent service.
Crispy skin salmon is to die for. Fantastic and romantic place for a weekday dinner for 2.
Won't find better location or views
Tucker is the real deal
Friendly, welcoming service and delicious coffee & croissants
Gorgeous setting overlooking the beach. Perfect for a long lunch. Degustation menu was excellent.
Really pretty view and the food is nice but prepare to pay top dollar!
We went to the Bistro and the service was disappointing. The person that led us to our table set the tone for the whole night and he was not helpful or friendly especially explaining why we were not allocated a window seat after requesting it. We eat out 2-3 nights a week in Mosman and will not bother going back.
I ordered a Caesar salad and it came with lots of croutons and only 2 pieces of chicken. Still tasty though.
Excellent for breakfast and lunch. It is very popular and you may have to wait especially at weekends.
A place I like very much, I think it s suitable for breakfast or lunch there
Two or three people order a light salad, appetizing fried squid, charcoal grilled PIZZA soft and delicious
You can still watch the sea
The only fly in the ointment is that at noon you will be surrounded by wealthy old men and women in the North District...
Only okay. Difference between an owner and a manager running the place. Over rated.
Took my husband here for his birthday lunch because of all the good reviews but sad to say we were disappointed.
Firstly, the view was fantastic. Unfortunately though, the positive ended there.
The serving sizes were TINY for the price you pay. For $36 a main, we could get something better and bigger in the cbd.
We ordered a risotto dish for my son and I can tell you that it wasn't made fresh, the rice was stale, old and cold and chalky - my overnight rice tastes better. The pan fried fish that came with it was overcooked.
The arancini I had wasn't good either - the rice inside was stale, and over flavoured with salt to cover up the old food. We were planning to have dessert there but decided against it given the quality of the food we just had.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and we won't be back or recommend this place.
Very pretty location. I have been here for a couple of weddings and it makes for a nice intimate venue.
Food and setting was good, highly recommend the quail entree and lamb main. However, the cake service was quite shocking. We'd brought in a birthday cake and asked them to serve it after the dessert. The cake came without any candles, on its own plate, no knives/cutlery to cut it or cutlery for our party of eight to eat it at all. Was frankly a little awkward and we ended up just asking them to pack it up and took it home
Always lovely to kick back hear for a couple of hours over lunch
The renovated Bathers Pavillion is a great breakfast and brunch choice with a good selection of fresh produce, vegan and gluten free options and a wonderful view thrown in! An unmissable stop if you re coming to Sydney. Also does a great dinner menu. The barista drew the most amazing picture of a koala on my flat white. You WILL not be disappointed. Take a walk along the promenade to walk off your meal and see the people that live in Sydney enjoy their best harbour beach .
Great view at waterfront balmoral beach. Perfect for a stroll after meal. Parking can be difficult. Service is attentive, food however was a bit disappointing, no wow factor to match the picturesque settung
Such a beautiful restaurant and location. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere perfect for a romantic dinner
Very attentive staff. Great view, easy free parking. Beautiful venue
They have consistently deliverd high standing culinary expertise over the years.
One of the very rare places where I trust above expectation standards will always be met.
