The cafe menu is quite expensive, but worth it for the absolutely stunning view.

Really unimpressed with this restaurant.

Completely OVERPRICED for what is offered. I ordered the Lamb with some sort or tasteless puree - wouldn't recommend the bland dish...

2 mains, 1 side dish of wedges, 2 mocktails = $156!!!! seriously not worth the pain of having to dish out such money for bland food.

Came here for New year's Eve 2020. Classy and overall very good. Food is tasty and service is good.

Superb fine dining experience thanks to Beatrice, Charlie, (in the picture) and Ian the sommelier. Great food and fantastic service.

Great breakfast and lunch. Parking if terrible though. Nevertheless worth the effort and the price. Suggest booking ahead on weekends.

Despite our booking not indicating a time limit tonight we were rushed through our three course meal. This was within 75 mins in a good restaurant paying top $$$$, not what you would expect.

The beautiful view could become secondary after the absolutely fantastic food and the amazing service.

Whilst looking a little tired you come to the cafe for the view over Balmoral Beach and the extensive menu be it in the upper mid range of pricing.We and our friends continue to enjoy weekend breakfast at this cafe.

Really great meal, beautiful location, fabulous views, relaxed atmosphere and really friendly and efficient service.

First time there: Saturday morning. 40min waiting for a toast outside at the small coffe shop, they didn't even said "sorry". Staff kind of arrogant, indifferent. No social distancing at all inside the pavilion. All tables taken with people way less then 1.5m apart. Looks like they just don't care about you, except for your money. Better bring your own food and do a Picnic on the grass enjoying the view.... Very desapointing.

The scenery at this place is great. The service was aittle rushed resulting in receiving something i didnt order. All good. What was received tasted good.

Food great, service was not the best. One thing I did not like at all was the charge of water $8 per person. Honestly a bit excessive!

Food a bit average,view and service great, but food let it down.

Pleasant place to have a meal, I ordered the prawns $44 for 3 prawns
Sure they were big prawns but $44 no sides or condiments
$12 for a side salad (a bag of lettuce)
Although great taste exuberant price for 3 prawns! Everything else on the menu is substantial, the mussels even come with fries and a salad!
Dont get the prawns - overpriced and not worth $44

Great food but serving sizes are very small and expensive. Makes sense as the cafe is right by the beach, prime real estate. Service is good and environment is relaxing and enjoyable. The restaurant is split into a casual cafe half and formal restaurant half.

Amazing location. Foods bland and shame there is no outdoor balcony. Amazing for weddings and functions but general dining is an expensive let down. Prefer Balmoral boatshed

Poor service, unprofessional and the staff did not welcome us into the restaurant at all when we walked in even though we made a booking. Spilt my beer and didn't apologise. Worst service ever. The food is so so, not worth the price.

I live in melb. This restaurant is in Sydney. Fantastic. Quite expensive. Crowded and loud but Sydney seems to be like that. Looks out onto the beach. Magnificent views. We had 3 x barramundi + 1 x red gurnard. Barra delicious and came with greens. The RG was beer battered and very big meal with shoestring chips. And the desserts were xlnt. $$$. Wine $80 for our bottle, but xlnt. Xlnt but quite expensive. $285 for lunch for 4.

Lovely setup, but for $35 risotto, i didn't enjoy cleaning my mussels myself! Was unpleasant to say the least!

Incredible view. Stay away from the pizza. Completely overpriced and extremely disappointing. Beautiful setting though. I used to love this place. recommend just going for drinks or maybe try the fancier option. Staff clueless: No idea upstairs is closed to a function, yet manager and waitress keep recommending-to people to go upstairs , only to be turned away

Worst service ever! Ruined my morning lunch time. The women who was in front door responsible of taking seats was very rude! shakes her head rolled eyes to us as if we were dumb! Food was terrible too. Has the owner changed? certainly wasn't this bad few year ago.

I've been here a lot and always enjoyed it, great location, food and service.

Went here for our anniversary in February and were utterly disappointed in everything - the food was ordinary, wine was undrinkable, service was poor and the sommelier inexperienced. Furthermore, my husband woke up with food poising in the early hours of the morning... Sad as we d been looking forward to it and were so disappointed.

Dined here for NYE 2010 and it was great! Good food, wonderful location and surprisingly we could see the fireworks from our seats. The staff are very friendly as well.

Being someone who likes to give people the benefit of the doubt, I decided to dine here for my 30th wedding anniversary with my family, after having a bad experience here a few years ago. Big mistake! The food did not live up to expectations but the service, well what service? In fact, no service would have been better than the service we received. An inexperienced waiter (who looked of Indian decent) with no manners spilt our drinks all over the table, not only did we not get an apology but he actually smirked at us and laughed about it with another waiter. We were absolutely gob-smacked. The manager was no better and walked around the restaurant the whole time with a frown on his face, avoiding diners. I will never be back here again.

I wish the take away coffee kiosk has a vegan cookie or cake option! Would also love to see a nice vegan main on the menu at the dining room. Decor is lovely service mostly very good. Could defiantly improve the wine selection though, and wine glass size.

The Cafe has great quality food, fantastic views of Balmoral Beach, friendly, attentive service and moderate prices (for the beach) making it a great place for breakfast or lunch on a sunny day.

A restaurant where you get what you are paying for. Pricey but worth the spend.
Starting of with the service you get right as you walk into the door. The waiting staff are attentive without being intrusive on your meal. Personal greetings from the staff just added that much more to their service.
Food quality and portions were great with our food perfectly matched with a suitable wine. Wine dessert pairing was with a glass of fine quality Riesling that took me by surprise, a testament to the food quality.
Each course is spaced out without you feeling rushed, allowing you the opportunity to enjoy your meal and surroundings.

We had lunch yesterday and service was absolutely shocking! It s worst service we have experience in Sydney. They started by giving us the wrong entree and they offered no apology like they didn t care and then the waitresses rushing order main course and we wanted to take a time but she s had a very rude attitude and even she couldn t answer our questions about the food and then waiter gave wrong beer but he blame us without an apology. Food was so so overall not what expected from a well know restaurant in Sydney maybe due to poor management not even checking on our dining experience and no goodbye on leaving shame for such a beautiful restaurant with a good reputation.

Had the 7 course degustation with matching wines. Service was faultless and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. Great food and well worth it!!

There's 2 parts to this place, there's a fine dining area and a cafe area.

The location is great, just next to the beach. Stroll along the beach before or after a meal.

If you are lucky you get seated next to the large glass panel windows over looking the sea. Amazing views.
Food is good, I usually like their desserts. Could be pretty expensive

Great views! Friendly service. A bit pricier than I expected for the more informal part of Bathers'. Lovely salad for lunch, though. Quite cool with the wind chill funneling in while sitting next to the open windows in April. Would be lovely in summer though!

Excellent atmosphere next to the beach with awesome food. The wedges were slightly disappointing but all else was perfect!

A very nice venue and beautiful beach right outside of it. I love upstairs balcony area where you can just sit back and relax under the sun. The meal was above average, wouldn t call it superb but was alright. Dessert on the other hand was very tasty, and I don t even like sweet that much!

Top service and high quality food with a stunning view of Balmoral Beach. It's clean and tastefully decorated inside, but they welcome anyone for the bistro lunch - lovely!

Beautiful location to hold a memorial Service. I was asked to set up and run AV equipment. Music chosen by the family played before and after the ceremony, and a photo presentation with music close to the end of the ceremony. The staff were friendly, accommodating and easy to work with. Thank you.

Had a birthday lunch here and it was a wonderful experience. The service was top notch, very friendly and attentive. We had the same waiter look after us the entire time. It was busy but not too noisy so the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The food was excellent. Can't wait to come back.

Frequently visit the Bather's Pavilion for special occasions like anniversaries (and even proposed after a beautiful dinner here!). Always an absolutely fantastic set of courses, and always some excitement in each dish, cannot recommend more!

Exquisite! Great locale, beautiful views of the Balmoral beach. Amazing food created with fresh produce. We did the 5 course degustation. The Blue swimmer Crab dish was outstanding, so was the passion fruit sorbet and mousse dessert. Oscar took very good care of us... He was very courteous, well mannered and attentive

Amazing food but definitely not a budget restaurant. If your after a sea view you'll need to book well in advance especially for a Friday or Saturday night.
Great selection of wines from many different regions and they also do a degustation menu with matched wines.
If your after a great dining experience I can highly recommend this restaurant.

as an award winning wedding celebrant I am honored to go to beautiful places with families and couples. I have always been impressed with Bathers for its consistent quality friendly service and event management. thank you I have a soft spot for the romantic photo location too

Views to die for! Great service. Food incredibly scrumptious and beautifully presented. But, $90 for 2 courses that still left me hungry was not great. Only one small Balmain Bug tail on the entree . The protein for the main, could of fitted into the PALM of my hand. They need to be a little more generous with their portions.

Most expensive fish and chips I have ever had, but the most delicious I have ever had

Excellent service. There was something in my dish which wasn't stated on the menu. Asked them about this and without any hesitation or making me feel awkward, they replaced it with a new one. Cocktails were so good too.

Beautiful setting but an absolute rip off. We ate in the casual side of the restaurant. Ordered an heirloom tomato salad with labna.
A badly cut up plate of ice cold tomatoes, some of which were so unripe (not green) that it was impossible to slice. On top were a few tiny pieces of labna, not more than a teaspoonful. After calling the waiter, they took my plate away to the kitchen, and they did apologize and brought it back with a decent sized serving. The garnish was 2 brownish basil leaves. The cost of this pathetic salad was $24!
We definitely will not be going back there.

Great place and location, but make sure if you're ordering spirits that you ask what brand/quality of spirits they're pouring, and the cost. $17 each for a Grey Goose vodka soda isn't exactly polite when you receive the bill...

The views are spectacular. The food is delicious and the coffee is incredible . Perfect for families or just a quiet spot to enjoy a drink.

Lovely place overlooking Balmoral beach. We had a great breakfast but i suspect equally great for any meal. It helped that the weather was fantastic so the mood was already on a high. Highly recommend this place for breakfast but get their early or make a booking as they are very popular.
