Beautiful views, excellent staff and good food. A very polished experience with an awesome aspect over the harbour. Come on a Saturday and watch the dinghy harbour races!

We arrived mid morning for brunch and although it was busy, were seated by a friendly waitress. The brow out over the bay was nice (pictured).
There was a specific breakfast menu on offer and it looked to have plenty of original twists on the usual breakfast dishes. The menu was a little pricey but not too bad for fancy pants Balmoral beach.
I went with the asparagus and bree omelette (pictured half eaten). It came with a house made hash brown and was pretty tasty. Others in my party ordered the pancakes and it was an early good sign that the maple syrup was the real stuff rather than the sugary flavoured stuff and it was served in a generous portion. Also the pancakes had just a hint of rose water which worked a treat.
Overall the meal was well put together and the kitchen clearly knows what they are doing.
All in all, I would recommend this place for breakfast, at least, if you are in the neighbourhood. I'd also be keen to see how the evening menu pans out too.
Two places, fine dining and casual. We went for the casual one and found it to be very nice, the fish of the day was done just right.
Lovely food with gorgeous views. A little pricey but definitely worth a visit
Dinner at the cafe? How hard is it to make a pizza? Well way too hard for this vastly overpriced joint. The salt cod pizza was nothing more than a piece of dried out flatbread. Cheap Prosecco - not here at $67! Basically the food is a disappointment albeit the location is beautiful.
good atmosphere, good service but very high prices .
Nice food, good view and service. I like to go there for lunch in sunny day.
Good, fresh, classic modern Australian dining. Perfect for groups of up to 8 I reckon, and every meal option looked amazing but its hard to get food envy when your own dish tastes so good. I had the beef mignon, and it was gorgeous. But had I had the salmon, the chicken, the mussels, or the risotto, I would have been equally happy.
The sweets are definitely designed to share, and their ice cream is divine.
Stunning new menu and interior from the Bather's team. A wonderful refresh for this iconic destination. We were so pleased to come back and enjoy it.
Lovely service, beautiful views and good food. Parking could be difficult in the area.
Really one of Sydneys hidden gems. For people who know it... But most travellers miss it.
Best food I have tasted so far. Extensive wine menu and they also manage to get halal meat!!! Great view of the beach was cherry on top.
Has beautiful view of the harbour towards Manly, however only has indoor seating. I prefer Cafe nearby called Beach House By GPO with outdoor seating!!! The hostess rolled her eyes at me.... I don't know why.
Nice dinner
No one there...just us
White House located on Balmoral Beach! Lovely scenery, delicious food, relaxed feeling of relaxation. Heaven is here.
Bit of an institution and expensive but also very good
Came in with my family for an early sitting dinner. The food was great and the view and location was unbeatable (right on the beach) what let this place down was the noise coming from the cafe section at the other end of the restaurant and the inexperienced waiter which we had serving us. Will definitely come back and check it out again when I am next in Sydney to get a second opinion.
Fabulous for work retreat days. Very good value. Lovely location and they certainly feed you well!
The Bathers Pavilion Restaurant situated next to the beach is a very nice place for a meal. It was opened on 20th February 1929 for bathers and is now a refurbished restaurant. There are two dining areas downstairs, one for casual dining and the other mainly for dinner. The dining rooms look out to the glorious view of Balmoral Beach. While having a meal there it is very interesting to see the beach and sea activities and yachts and ferries sail past Middle Harbour at the horizon. In the casual dining area, the floor to ceiling windows are opened for the cool sea breeze to wave through, coupled with the salty taste from the sea spray adding an extra flavour to the food.
Food and service are good.
Had an amazing Valentines Day dinner here with the girlfriend. We both loved the views of Balmoral Beach from our table. Also super intimate as the tables aren't back to back. Food was amazing too - couldn't fault any of the dishes we had from entree to dessert.
Highly recommend for a special occasion or even for an afternoon drink.
Excellent food along with awesome drinks and the view is not that bad at all
Charme! Heritage building, delicate decoration. Times stop you are enjoying a beautiful view on Balmoral bay. We took a whiting filet with prawns and a delicious apple pie with a cinnamon ice cream. Even though the price was not cheap the experience worth it. The staff was friendly and service efficient. We were in a quite space allowing us a great chat. I recommend warmly this place.
Had a great dinner date w the 5 course deguetation. Fresh ingredients. Lots of elements in all the dishes. Beef cheeks and tuna tartare were my favourites. Lamb a little sweet for my liking but everything else was amazing.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to Ray and his events team for the amazing job they did arranging our conference.
From the get go Ray gave me the complete confidence that the event would run smoothly and professionally. Ray and his staff on the day were friendly & helpful and made sure we were happy and well looked after.
The food and customer service exceeded all expectations. All 34 of us went back for seconds for the potato gnocchi and the delicious home-made scones with home-made strawberry jam and cream.
I would recommend this venue for a team conference 100 times over!
Thanks Ray & team!
Food, wine and service were all exceptional. I very much enjoyed this culinary experience.
Was a bit disappointed with our dinner here. Plenty of pluses - sensational position and we had window views, nice ambience, comfortable and started with a very tasty amuse bouche. Entrees of celeriac gazette and sliced asparagus and leek were good without raising eyebrows. We both had the Murray cod with white beans and horseradish - and that was it, nothing accompanying it and really a bit slight for the price. To finish we had coffee and madeleines. But at $9 for a coffee plus one small Madeleine wasn't the best way to finish. So while a nice night out I left under-whelmed.
I visited for lunch with a friend who moved to Sydney.
The atmosphere of the store, the service of the clerk, and the food were all satisfactory.
The dish was an omelet with asparagus and cheese, but the seasoning is exactly what makes the ingredients stand out! The taste of the egg also made me happy and laughed.
The pre-meal sparkling wine and the post-meal espresso are just right, and the whole set out the dishes.
A seaside restaurant and a window are used as a forehead to create a beautiful landscape.
Just had coffee at the bar this time. Elegant restaurant, very good service, excellent coffee. And of course beautiful spot in Sydney.
One of Sydney's most iconic locations for breakfast, lunch or dinner. White sand, water lapping, gentle sound of waves. Great coffee (though I don't like their cups, lol). Their blueberry pancakes are the best in Sydney. Been to a couple of great weddings there too.
We have visited this restaurant on half a dozen occasions during holidays to Sydney in the past ten years. I ve always looked forward to it s good food, laid back atmosphere and beautiful setting.
I think we drew the short straw with our waiter last night, a middle aged guy who left us waiting for 20 minutes without even offering us water and then made such a mediocre effort that I was left wondering whether I had insulted him in a previous life. Based on this experience I won t be hurrying back.
The food was good, but not great for the price.
The new fit out is nice.
Beautiful breakfast with a view. Loys of healthy options.
Had a coffee here and explored the art gallery. Took in the sights of the ocean/bay area. Very relaxing place with gorgeous views.
I was brought to Bathers Paviolion as a welcome back to Aus gift by a friend. She had mentioned this place was amazing so I was really looking forward to our lunch together.
Although the food was good, I could not believe my eyes when we received the bill. Almost $400 for lunch?!?!?! Yes, we ordered a bottle of white and a glass of champagne upon arrival. The bottle of white nor the glass of bubbles was not top shelf however. Certainly not to bring our lunch bill to this astronomical price.
I've been to my share of 1, 2 AND 3 Michelin star restaurants and Bathers is in NO way shape or form compared to the quality and service that is offered at these places. Bathers however, certainly believe they are.
Food is good, but I would not pay more than $100 (tops) for lunch at this place.
Excellent! Went for a late breakfast - 3 people. Food was great. Staff pleasant and helpful. Decor and surroundings delightful.
For breakfast it's hard to find better on the north shore. The beans are so good it's hard to order anything else. Pancakes deserve a mention too though.
Usually a 10 minute wait at peak brekkie time.
Nice rooftop space for easy drinks. Chilled and nothing to fancy. Ate in the bistro and the food was really nice.
We had a birthday lunch here recently and it was really good. The service was amazing and the degustation menu is the way to go. Have the matched wines and you won't be disappointed.
Being going for over a decade.
Food was always 3/5 and service 2/5.
Now food is 2/5 and service 1/5.
Food wrong for second week in a row and overcharged on the bill this morning. Impossible to get anyone s attention whilst there.
Really good, beautiful view, has such a nice time there. The pizza was really good.
The perfect spot overlooking a beatiful beach. Quintessential Balmoral experience and a great feel to the new renovations... More seating capacity than before gets you a table quicker than before. Just went in for a quick lunch and delighted with service speed and beautiful food. I look forward to returning for a longer lunch or dinner very soon....and to try the champagne bar.
Good location with fantastic view. Food was very tasty and good quality though quantity is a bit small.
Superb location next to the Balmoral beach. I recommend coming in the day light to get a great beach side view. Amazing cocktails & food. I enjoyed the duck breast with smoked apricot and a fig strawberry compote with vanilla cream.
My family was here for Christmas lunch and I've got to say we will looked after very well. We had a booking for 10 and we were given the longest table in the restaurant with a fantastic view over the beach. the service was comprehensive very friendly and for Christmas Day the staff were having a great time being there.
As our booking had several children there were gifts on the table and activities for them to do.
Thanks so much for the wonderful experience!
Hard to compete with the ambience and views! It's a great place to start your day!
Excellent food and service but expensive and dessert choice too narrow and somewhat disappointing in what was on offer.
Amazing service little bit too expensive was for me
Stunning beachside location and two di ing options - one less formal, easy to turn up without a booking, yet still good food and good service. Great place to take visitors.
Had the most beautiful bridal lunch at Bathers! Yummy!!!
Too expensive for food which was not top quality. Don't mind paying top dollar but the quality needs to be there.
Fancy, very popular place - waits can be long but the staff will attend to you quickly and can keep you in drinks while you wait. All round class act, except for the food, which (3 different breakfasts) was good but nothing out of the ordinary at all, and pretty small servings given the very high prices.
Went to Bathers Pavilion August 26th we enjoyed the bread and butter ,However our main meals where horrible ended up having KFC afterwards. I was very disappointed due to reading all the great reviews.
Always a lovely atmosphere and one of the most beautiful locations in Sydney
Such a great location with high quality service and high standard for food quality.
Amazing food, service and views. Very accomodating to our dietary requirements. Highly recommended for a special occasion. The staff were very well informed of the menu items and the wine list is plentiful. We had the 7 course degustation and every course was delicious and lived up to expectations. The final dessert was my favourite, with the smoothest and creamiest chocolate which matches perfectly with the passionfruit sorbets tartness.
Had the eggs benedict. Divine. Great hollandaise sauce. Dining experience was delightful, although the wait staff could have been more attentive and service was slow at times. Would return.
Recommended for special dinner events. The food is absolutely amazing but does come with the associated hefty price tag. Some awesome flavours and a special setting close to the Balmoral beach. Will certainly return for the next big birthday event!
Absolutely stunning food and impeccable presentation. Wonderful service with beautiful views of Balmoral Beach. This restaurant has always been a personal favourite & we have always looked forward to coming back. This visit definitely didn t disappoint. We loved the spacious tables, so unlike a lot of other restaurants where you are squashed in. It is beautifully decorated with seaside touches and it s great to look out to the beach as you enjoy your dinner.
Definitely recommend this restaurant and we look forward to coming again soon.
Came here for a 3 course lunch. Lovely views, tasteful fit out and excellent service from Ronny who I noticed also did an excellent job with the tables around us.
I had the Moreton Bay Bug (perfect), Snapper (very good, maybe a smidge too much butter for some people) and poached rhubarb (excellent).
My partner had the w.a octopus (very good), Murray Cod (excellent) and yuzu savarin (excellent).
Cosy, classy, trendy and with nice views. Just be prepared to pay the premium for all that. Cocktails are worth a try despite the price tag
I love this place , I been here once , but my first experienced was just amazing , the location of the restaurant just right in front of the beach , we got the seat facing the beach view , the foods was nice and good portions , I will come back again for more
Good place with nice view. A bit of a wait for an ordered things, but in general lovely spot for an afternoon catch up.
A good place for evening hangovers. Really enjoyed our meal there
Its reputation speaks for itself.
Along with the food. Plus of course the view.
Stately old building with one of the oldest swimming clubs in the region. Somewhat more upscale restaurant and a trendy breakfast bar. Cozy and tasty with a view of the dike and the sea inlet.
A wonderful tradition and must every trip to Sydney. Location alone on Balmoral beach is stunning... cocktails and food never disappoint. Modern cuisine with various influences, but particular focus on fresh seasonal cuisine and seafood. Not a cheaper lunch option, but a little more upscale, without having to dress up.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Entrees were creative, the pork belly was one of the best I've ever had. The mains were average. Desserts were amazing! My fave was the white chocolate chantillu cream with pomelo sorbet (surprised myself as I'm not a white chocolate fan), it was really light and refreshing, perfect way to end a meal on a hot day.
Nice place to have cocktails when you re at balmoral. Though I wouldn t recommend drinking and swimming! They also have a cafe and a restaurant. I usually get a healthy salad and coconut water...
We ordered linguine, steak mignon and duck confit. All of us were happy with our food. The cocktails were delicious too. Great vibe and service!
