One of the ticket machines ran out of tickets, so i left it not too bothered with my daughter, but the next machine just ate about 60p and did nothing so i asked one of the ladies if they could sort it out, i showed her the two problem machines whilst other patents were throwing money in it, she went off to 'get someone' so i waited about for 10 mins, got bored and found the lady again, so i complained about the machines again, another girl said to me, "someone is coming we are not qualified" so at this point over something simple like getting someone to fix machines that are stealing peoples money, i thought, this is a joke, so me and my daughter went back to the machines and explained to the other people waiting that someone who is qualified to turn a key has to be flown in, after a while a bloke turned up, nervous, sweating probably jetlagged, opened the door put lighting macqueen on a shelf closed the door and said "right wheres the other one?" hang on mate i put money in that one and nothing happened, so he turned to the lady, "can you give him a 60p refund slip" :/ so my daughter gave all her remainig tickets to the little girl who was waiting (about 300) followed the lady to the doors and then just left...it was so nice going out into the air where real world is... sort it out. also check your cctv if you disagree with any of this review, or want to contact me.

We took the chance during the day to treat the kids on a game bowling, not being rushed had given them their best experience ever. not to forget the adults also had an amazing time..

Much better than it used to be and great prices if booking a deal

It's pretty good for bowling and the bar is alright but I was little disappointed by the arcade area, as it felt kinda like a sea-side casino with those 'Coin pusher' things and some fruit machines. They did have some racing and shooting games but it would have been really cool to see some classic arcade games as well.

If there was a suggestion box then I'd recommend adding one or two classics like Pac-man or Galaga.

Was having a good time untill they came over and wanted the lane back and made us rush the last game even tho we was put on the lane late kind of ruined our evening

Nice food but took a little while to get lanes sorted a few technology difficulties

Our lane broke so we got upgraded to the VIP lanes. Good customer service

I'm sick of poxy places that are poorly kept and offer silly tickets in all there machines as prizes or lol to extract more money from the parents

Big exciting place with great facilities but scoring and information system poor.

I personally think that the pins down fall down as they should man the amount of strikes that should be going down which ain't proper fraud of a bowling alley

A very superb bowling alley with reliable service and toilets are always clean never dirty. Arcades never malfunction. When you ask for ticket refills on the machines they always do it for you! Would recommend.

Went today all covid measures in place .Have to book first but was easy once in there everything set up for you have to wear own shoes at present it was great

Nice place. Entertainment for kids, diner. Clean and tidy.

Arcade is a bit dated and mainly focuses on ticket machines over gaming.
Bar is large with 2 pool tables but is a tad pricey. The bowling is great and gives a glow in the dark option

Very long wait if not booked but very polite service. Great bowling land and atmosphere.

We came down to Basildon from London for the day and had a real great time. Loads of things to do for all the family

Nice bowling complex. Bit expensive, and can get crowded. But kids loved it.

Fairly standard really, good place to bowl, nice bar area with 3 pool tables and seating and then the arcade bit. Couldn't complain when I went there for a work Christmas party

Daughter loves bowling plus the arcades and a bar for mummy and daddy

A great place for a fun packed time with friends and family it definitely brings out the competitive nature of people. There's good food available to suitable for all ages

A lovely evening bowling with family and friends for my son's birthday. Staff very friendly. It was lovely to arrive and be told that we can wear our own shoes. Only downfall was the toilets. Not clean and very smelly!!

Great time had by the family, bowling game crashed at the end, so couldn't finish game properly. But they did give us vouchers for free bowl next time. Otherwise would be a 5 star day out.

Great time had here with family, staff and facilities good.
Really don't like their new screens though, you can only see the first six bowlers, so as bowler seven I didn't see my score for most of the game.

Great fun for the kids to make a day out for their holidays.

Lots of bowling lanes. I love the arcade in there. And the little cafe they have inside does some nice food

Played 2 games on a very busy Saturday afternoon. We paid extra for the VIP booth but it was strewn with litter when we arrived. The seating is also very uncomfortable. Not what you'd expect from a VIP booth. Still, the bowling experience itself was fine. Brightly lit lanes making it a fun game.

Brilliant fun but a bit pricey if you don't use a deal.

A bit on the expensive side and the coffee shop is over priced and doesn't offer the same value and quality as going to a costa or Starbucks.

Good place to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and family. Car park is huge and free. Shops and restaurants around to complete a night out.

Can set gutter guards per user which is more interesting for families.

Great for bowling, arcade games & playing pool. Foods okay.

Hollywood Bowl is always a place we enjoy visiting as a family. It's a large multilane alley which is clean and modern looking, our boys absolutely love the whole glow bowling with the ultraviolet lighting effect of the lanes and the music just add to the fun.
All the staff are friendly and attentive and happy to assist if the need be.

The Alley also offers a good selection of food, it's a very American menu, from nachos, chicken wing, burgers and hot dogs which can either be eaten in their seated food area or ordered to your lane.

The alley also has a nice modern bar with the addition of four pool tables and there is also a large arcade with a large variety of games, simulators and game machines.

Always makes for a great family after noon or evening out.

Visited the other day and it was a very good experience, really nice and modern and great atmosphere. Plenty of lanes for bowling and lots of other features to enjoy, will definitely be returning.

The ladies toilets were all blocked and backing up. Apart from that and the travelling community upsetting the staff it was ok.

The facilities are good but it is expensive and too busy for my liking.

The Basildon staff were brilliant. We brought 13 Cub Scout having pre booked a month ago. The head office however messed up the whole thing lost out cheque we had to pay again by card. Thank goodness for local staff

Great indoor fun for all ages from toddlers to adults. The bowling is well managed including table service for both food and drinks.
The staff are friendly and very helpful which makes the bowling enjoyable and fun..book on line and you do get a discount which helps reduce the cost.
