I wanna buy everything, either for me or as gifts. Loved the journals, the coffee mugs, the toys, the postcards, the books, the bags, the notepads, every single thing.
lovely large bookstore, but a disappointingly small music department. what surprised me were vinyl records being sold & toys; games; & actions figures available here as well...i now have another place to shop.
however, the ratio between consumer & employee was 5:1...then again, it was the shopping season so it was busy & crowded...
in a time of online shopping, i come to truly appreciate the fact that stores like these still exists to physically hold & review before purchasing...i love that bout this place & others like this...
I wish there was something less to rate the experience I have had with cust service and digital support from Barnes & Noble since purchasing my Nook Tablet in Dec 2012. I was sold a Certified Pre Owned device in the store and made to believe I was purchasing a new device. It didnt work and i had to have it replaced in July of 2013. I was then sent another CPO device that did exactly the same thing. I was finally fed up and wanted a NEW device which is what I had thought I was buying in the first place and was told they no longer make them and I am pretty much left with nothing!
Multiple floors of books, gifts and toys. There is a coffee shop in the store beckoning you to stay just a bit longer.
Went to go get where's Waldo books and they have every collection on me where's Waldo
Huge Barnes & Noble with 4 floors of books and a cafe as well. This is my to-go bookstore when I need something.
This is one of the best Barnes and Noble at Union Square since i visited that place when I was a little kid. They had a lot of sections full of books. They had floors in that Barnes and Noble to go to. They have McDonald's for us to eat. It's super convenient to have a bite to eat after we were browsing around at Barnes and Noble at Union Square 17th St.
Went for Tboz's book signing. Very nice book store. Large variety of item's including toy's.
Every book worms wet dream. Its the mecca for people living on a dime but still want to buy a book as opposed to hitting the library. I ordered a book on the strand website and opted to pick it up. When i went to pick it up several staffers scratched their heads and wondered "Hmm, we dont know where your book is come back tomorrow". Luckily, i work in the neighborhood so i dont mind coming back. I managed to speak to someone else who located my book which was at the cash register and was so apologetic and helpful and friendly and all taht wonderful stuff. I have my book. Im happy with it. and I still love Barnes & Noble even the smell of old books. Oh yeah. sexy stuff right there.
So many books!!!!! Ha. Though not a place for books of the rarer persuasion.
Excellent friendly staff & collections. Can spend hours reading, browsing & purchasing!!!
Knowledgeable staff and vast selection of all kinds of books and materials.
I like and regret not speaking and reading and English because there are countless books since I went through the door and I can smell the pages of books that transport us wherever we want or what we want to feel is my greatest pleasure to visit Barnes & Noble .. I recommend it.!
Great books, knowledagble staff, and the best cafe you can find in Union Square. A must if you need a break from the craziness of NYC.
Love to bring our family there on every weekend to relax and enjoy reading a book and Starbucks coffee :)
Clean. Organized. Safe. I have had some great service who will step out and help me with what I need. I have also have had service where they couldn't care less about the product whether it was instock or not never mind locating it just about gossiping with a fellow co- worker. I will take away 1 star for that one person who could care less about business integrity.
Huge 4 floor bookstore. Eclectic magazines including about reptiles, Star Wars, technology, etc. Can spend hours out there!
Lots of books that allow you to explore, courteous staff, and bathroom open to public
Not a bad store... staff should be more open to the customers and show their willingness to help
I love Barnes and Noble, sadly it seems they're becoming extinct.
This Barnes & Noble is fantastic: spread over 4 large floors with a huge selection of books covering all genres, perfect for any book lover to browse for hours.
If I go to Barnes and Noble, it's usually this location. Centrally located at Union Square and not too crowded. (at least not at night. )
Got 4 movies paid for my membership and only spend 45 when it should. Of paid 65
Nice large venue and selection of books, it's a great place and definitely for the avid reader.
Large, helpful staff, Starbucks, good gift selection.
Nice bookstore which has many seats to sit and read. Free wifi provided
Having 4 floors, they're bound to have whatever you need. Can get hectic, especially on the floor with the cafe, but still great to have all the floors, availability and access. I love how they have authors come in for talks and book signings on the top/4th floor, with there being plenty of seating (many times it's filled until there's standing room only).
Bonus: The rows of seats are kept out even when there is no scheduled book signing so they are open for the public to come plunk down with some books (before they decide to purhase them, that is).
Best and biggest Barnes & Noble shop in NYC. It has a very decent geeky selection of books, graphic novels, action figures and board games. It might not rival The Forbidden Planet in scale, but certainly in prices.
The same it's always been. Good books. Cool book signing. Go learn something. Have fun.
Everything you expect from a bookstore, and much more. In union Square, in the center of downtown NY.
It's a bookstore. With coffee & desserts. Support it!
Great store, I'm here all the time, great selection of books
My personal favorite location. Its nice to actually pick up, hold, and flip through a book that you're interested in buying instead of reading a vague synopsis and clicking 'add to cart' on some website IMO.
This location is very large - multiple floors. They also sell music and video, book related items, some children's toys, and they have a cafe as well.
My personal favorite is the magazine section. They have benches to sit on as you thumb through them at your leisure. A nice way to kill time - especially if you have time to kill while waiting for a doctors appointment in the area.
And a big plus in my book is that the staff are very friendly and helpful. Try getting that from a website.
It s great to see a bookstore chain that is still surviving. Great selection of books, periodicals, media and games. The cafe makes it a great place to peruse your purchases, or chat with friends, and they even have free Wi-Fi. Hang in there, B&N!
Incredible collection of books and a super friendly, knowledgeable staff. Love their frequent discounts on comic books and graphic novels. They also have a good collection of stationeries and collectibles, including an array of Harry Potter collectibles and Funko Pop toys.
Amazing shop and super cafe. Here the visitor can sit between the shelves on the floor and read. Incredibly great. I wish this was in Bohemia.
Huge store. It was nice to see one since so many have shut down.
Excellent place, a perfect place for those who enjoy reading.
Excellent book store... Go there they have the books you want!
It was my first time going to this location and it was a great experience. There were staff members to helo me find the books I was looking for on each floor and check out was quick.
My favorite place. Love to be around the crowd. Usually find my perfect book. Coffee, tea, & buns.
For as long as I've been in NY this store has been around. I come here when Amazon can't get me a book as fast as I want or need it, which is ofen. They usually have what I'm looking for plus things I didn't expect. It's a little more expensive than the Strand but a better shopping experience. Beautiful building. There's also a cafe and bathroom
Big yet cozy and fun for the kids. Has every book you need.
Large store. Great selection with a Starbucks inside.
Very nice place and seemingly friendly staff wide array and selection of books, films, dvds amd even toys for kids. 10/10
Well organised friendly staff but nowhere to sit and the computers to find books were down.
I love this bookstore. So many floors and one of the handful left in the city.
It's more than a public bathroom, which it also is. Good place for last minute gifts and to wait for someone while you drink coffee at the 3rd floor cafe.
This is one of the few B&N's left in NYC and I absolutely love it here. It's one of my favorite places to kill time.
The Union Square B&N is one of the larger locations in New York.
4 floors of books, electronics and albums, im in looove
Best bookstore. They have great author book-signing events all the time. Always fun to browse and maybe snag a good book on discount.
Always love Barnes and Noble. Surely my favourite place to go for books and they never disappoint.
