Horrible ER. Takes forever to be seen. Daughter had x-rays for a possible broken foot and waiting going on the 3 hour since then and still haven t made it back there yet. The worst place to go and go anywhere else but here if you can.

Went in feeling like hell. Left the same way. They only did blood work & said I was fine well I didn't feel fine. Took 3 different people to get an IV in (IV totally unnecessary since I didn't get any medications & only for blood work). On top of that one lady literarlly said "oh god" & sighed when I told her my veins are hard to get. Only giving 2 stars since some nurses seemed somewhat decent but I wouldn't reccomend this hospital if you're in a real emergency
If you are a black or non white looking family be ready to be treated as less than. At all times when I brought in my infant to the emergency department I was always given stories why we where not being seen after hours of waiting and have to haggle for better treatment such as being placed in a separate waiting for children or babies rather than the general public. UMBWMC stop treating your non white patient as third class no matter their background. My husband is a Doctor and I once in the medical field. so we were constantly having to educate the staff on proper patient care. Also had my child here so I can testify to the all aspects, there's no standardization or proper non biasd or non discriminatory patient care protocol. So hope for the best and be cautious.
Father came in by ambulance. Possible stroke/Heart attack. Left in er lobby for 6 hrs. Long story short 10 hrs total after being seen. Left hospital and got him admitted to Walter reed. Avoid at all costs.
i was brought into the ER with a terrible infection. the ER doctor (Wendell) was compassionate, professional and thorough, the nurses were kind, knowledgeable and helpful as well. i ended up having to stay for 5 days in the 5 south ward where the doctor and all the nurses and techs, the IV therapy staff and all others were kind, thoughtful, compassionate, helpful and professional. all the BWMC staff that treated me have renewed my faith that hospitals can be places of healing and hope. i am so thankful for the care i received. i am well and on my way to full recovery thanks to them.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Kim Gummer today at your hospital. She represents what a nurse should exhibit. I found her to be extremely sensitive compassionate and helpful during this visit.
This is not the first time i have had a bad experience. The female doctor (ran into twice) talks to me like i am stupid and she acts like i am lying and faking it. Came in because i fell down the stairs and my big toe is bent sideways and theres a lump on my foot. The pain was extreme, i was sure it was broken. It started bruising and swelling right away. She poked at my foot causing it more pain and said she doesnt see how it hurts. WTF? She said on the X ray it showed no broken bones... but how is it i cant move my big toe at all and its bent sideways? Toes dont go that way...... Anyways she gave me freaking TYLENOL and some Tramadol for pain. REALLY? Those are for minor pains and aches. Over all the service was complete crap. They treat people horrible! I cant remember her name.... she had blonde hair, kinda short. fake friendliness. (Redslithers BF)
Their emergency has always been the worst as far as wait time. I've never come here an not spend at least 3 to 4 hours just in the waiting room. Once seen in the back add another 3 hours. Their services should be discounted.
Worst medical facility ever. Daughter was in a bad car accident, waited over 6 hours to get seen, no one ever checked on us. Nurses don t even look at you in your eyes when you talk to them and give you bad looks like we are bothering them, This is their job. If I could give this place a negative star I would
I went to the clinic because I have severe tooth pain, and the dentist is closed and won't reopen until Monday. My eye is twitching, face throbbing, can't eat or sleep. I just need some relief, so I can go on with life until my scheduled dentist appointment on Monday. I have to work Monday before my appointment, and with the current pain, I do not know how I will manage. The doctor saw me for like 2 minutes, told me they would give me antibiotics and pain relievers. I received 600 mg ibuprofen, and amoxicillin. The pain reliever I went to the clinic and paid money for, was no different than just going to CVS and getting the ibuprofen for much less, without someone assuming I'm a junkie trying to score for a fix. I get that there is a serious opioid epidemic, but there are some people out there still that legitimately need these pain relievers for temporary releif. I could sleep to two nights, I haven't eaten in two days. My face feels like I've been shot. My dentist told me to go to patient first and ask what they can to to temporarily relieve the pain until Monday when he can see me. He said he is not allow d to call in pain medication because all that is going bob, but if they see me, they can prescribe me something stronger than OTC drugs to get me through. Even with the dentist referral, all I got was over priced ibuprofen. Later that night, I could sleep and I was in so much pain, I couldn't handle it. I just wanted to pull my own tooth. I went to Baltimore Washington Hopstial to the emergency room. I waited in excruciating pain for over 3 hours until I was finally seen by a physician assistant and her student follower. I was in so much pain, I had tears. My legs were restless and my heart was racing. They said they cannot do anything to treat dental pain. I asked if they could at least numb me so I can go home and fall asleep and they said no. They said to just keep taking the previously prescribed medicines, and maybe go to CVS for some sort of topical cream or gel for my tooth. I explained that I have been through that, and it's not working. She said thats all she can do, which at the end of the day, was nothing. They sent me home with a doctors note for Monday. I am the director of my department. I work for a heath care and special education facility in the nutrition department. A doctors note does not help, since I would only be handing it to myself. I waited for hours for them to not treat me, and send me home with useless paperwork. And now I will have to pay for this visit. I will have to pay to sit in a waiting room for house, sit on a bed for a few minutes, and have them tell me they won't treat me. So, excruciating pain, two medical facilities, no relief. I am not a drug addict. I don't like taking these things because it makes my head fuzzy, and I prefer to be sharp at work because my staff depends on me to make the difficult decisions and handle the stress of the day. I spent hundreds of dollars, and wasted half of a day to get a total of 7 minutes with a doctor, OTC medications, and they wished me the best of luck. The healthcare facilities nowadays are ridiculous. I spend thousands of dollars a year for medical insurance. I am generally in good health. I rarely get sick, I'm psycally fit, and I'm not a drug addict. I pay taxes, pay co-pays, I spend so much money towards this system that won't treat me when I'm in need. They should be ashamed of themselves. You sent home a person who would now rather perform oral surgery in the comforts of his own garage than ever see these people who call themselves doctors. Because of the horrible epidemic going on, the moment they hear pain, they assume people at there for a fix, not because they may actually be in terrible, unmanageable pain. My suggestion is, if you are in pain for any reason, look on craigslist for a doctor, because they would be more helpful than these so called health care facilities and the so called doctors who work at them.
When I stopped into the emergency in reference to an itch, I felt that they did not give the the concerns and considerations that I had hoped. I felt that they could have better served me in providing a dermatologist than to treat the itch. I still have the itch after two weeks ago.
I came into the emergency room to seek help. I had not eaten for 10 days, had diarrhea for 10 days and in such extreme pain. Dr. gave me fluids and some pain meds, took blood and a urine sample. My urinalysis came back abnormal and I was real low on potassium. My pain subsided but something was still wrong, I informed the Dr. and the nurse but they would not listen. The Dr. discharged me and as soon as he did that, the nurse kicked me out, literally. She could not get me in the wheel chair fast enough, I still hadn't put my shoes on. I kept informing her that there is something wrong, I am still in extreme pain and have diarrhea. My son even told her and the Dr., but they would not listen, she just put me in the wheel chair, no shoes on, wheeled my ass out of the room, screamed to another nurse the room was ready.
A day later I was taken to Harbor Hospitals emergency room, I was going into shock. The ER Dr took one look at me and immediately informed me I was being admitted. I found out that I had Salmonella poisoning and if I had gone any longer without care, well I hate to think about it.
While the doctors themselves are quite good, their intake in the emergency room leaves much to be desired. Although it can be expected to wait for a long period of time depending on triage and availability of space, it is entirely unnecessary and unprofessional to have the intake receptionists making fun of the customer's concerns and their confusion and disappointment in the process. During our wait (which was over three hours for a child's broken arm), I overheard no less than three separate occasions when the receptionists stepped to the back behind their desk area to talk about the patients and those with them. Even if it was a single one out of the group, the others allowing it to happen is just as bad. They can be heard from the waiting area, which makes an already difficult situation for some patients worse as they sit and listen to the guffaws of the receptionists in the back room. Be professional, grow up, and take more pride in your work... It may even help your emergency room streamline some glaring issues in the entire process. Incredibly disappointed in this location... If you have the ability, go elsewhere... You'll likely spend less time waiting and less time being ridiculed for doing so.
This hospital has been a joke for a long time, but when you need to go always end up here. Never again. I'll be going to Harbor or John's or Mercy first. The wait times are ridiculous and when you ask someone a question, they pass the buck and no one knows anything or how long. Put of 203 reviews, I can see why it has a 2.3 marking.
I recently had surgery (1-17) at BWMC. The nurses (Ms Ruth, Ms Mary) and all the other staff were very friendly and caring. This is the second time I have had surgery at this location and both experiences were great. Thank you for being so caring towards those you serve.
I had an aspiration w sonogram procedure today with Dr. Steve and nurse Angel. I have been in their care in the past, and they are always very kind and friendly, they always make me feel comfortable with any questions I may have. The staff on Six West is terrific. Being hospitalized is very stressful, but this team makes it more bearable.
This is the worst hospital I have ever been in. The wait is beyond ridiculous you can die in pain waiting in the lobby. They were patients crying of pain and still couldn t be seen. This hospital isn t staff or prepped for any type of emergency.
Went here for an emergency! Needless to say they left me in triage for 3 hours waiting for a urine test that no one even communicated, only to find out that it wasn t even needed for radiology by me going out there to check my status, and get a blanket! Waste of 3 hours. Then I get taken into radiology (great) roughly about 20 minutes into waiting again a nurse practitioner assistant (Kiersten Hoefler)comes into the room starts talking to me, gets a phone call in the middle of my sentence and says I have to take this. Leaves takes the call. My phone rings, she comes in 5 minutes later, stands in front of me and says I have to go I can t wait while your on the phone! I signal for to wait one second she walks out. I have never experienced this type of bed side mannerism in my life. So her time was more important than mine. I ended speaking with the supervisor on duty! Will never recommend this Hospital to ANYONE! Should have went to Anne Arundel
So where to begin. The owner really need to give the after hours ER more Help. This is the 2nd time we needed help and was told of a 3-4 Hour wait and left. No more.
Don't go to this ER. Go any place else, the wait times are insanely long. The nurses and doctors don't care about the patients, waited over 4 hours to be seen and the waiting room wasn't even that full. Someone threw up on the floor and it wasn't cleaned for 30 minutes. People have been sleeping in random chairs, not even sure if they are patients or just wondered in looking for a place to sleep and no one said anything. One lady had been walking around throwing up in a bag yelling ahh for the first 3 hours we were there. Seriously this was all in the last 4 hours and still haven't been seen. Some people that came in after us have already been seen, and discharged. This place is horrible. Just walked to reception to ask how much longer and they said the longest wait time is 8 hours and 16 minutes, and that is today. How is this hospital even allowed to operate.
Everytime i have been here the wait is forever! Atleast 5 hours today. Insane. And it was packed. Maybe their understaffed or something i dont know. Next time i will try to go elsewhere.
We brought my dad in around 430pm, left leg swollen and blue. By 8pm a room in the ER was finally ready( he was brought in by ambulance). Where the staff is friendly they were not prepared or set up for success. They had my dad waiting in a tiny room and when his room was ready a tech/ nurse half his size and weight shows up to take him to his room. My dad can t get up by him self ( his leg is swollen and blue and he s 86). She expects me ( I m also half his weight and height) to help him. Once we get him to his ER room she then expects him to get up again alone and climb back into a bed. I had to tell her to get some men to help because I couldn t do it. The paramedics who came over could barely lift him. After waiting 4 hours just to get an ER room than having staff who are expected to do a job they are not physically capable of doing is unrealistic and ridiculous and hinders the care of the patient. Avoid this hospital if you can.
Wait time sucks been here since 5 pm time is now 9 pm all I needed was a x-ray which I got at 8pm still no one has come to tell me anything. Nurses are real nice. Virginia hospitals are better wait times better. Talked to guy had a heart issue still out here waiting to be seen. This place blows
First the nurse refused to give my wife an ice pack until I bitched cause there too expensive and there no supposed to use them only ice. Second my wife has been sitting in the er room for 45min and still has yet to see a doc. This place is a joke. Dont use this er unless its after 7am and before midnight cause they run half staff at night. This was a much better hospital and er when it was North Arundel
This place is a joke, worst in the area. One nurse tells my wife her EKG looked like she had a heart attack and abnormalities! 5 other nurses said she was fine and the other nurse(PA) doesn t know why she would tell us that. Came at 9pm, seen right away, said they were keeping her, didn t get a room until 6am, nurse said that was quick! It s 4pm now the next day, saw the first doctor since we ve been here around 12:30, 3 or 4 blood tests and EKG later, no problems, have been waiting for the cardiologist for 4 hours. Nurses stop in every 2-3 hours with no info, literally no one has told us any reason that we are here or what caused the high heart rate. Never again...
The 5th floor nurse( Monica I think) was excellent, I m thankful she was looking after my wife
I wanted to be sure I spread some nice news about the way I was treated today! I visited the the Tate Cancer Center, Cancer Screening Center, the hospital reception, the Hospital Radiology and Advanced Radiology.
While I was a little confused by where I needed to go, I was treated above and beyond by every person I came in contact with. Usually, you find that kind of person, but today everyone I came in contact with was so happy and position. I do remember the names of Erin and Jennifer. These people, along with the physician's assistant, could not have been more helpful and friendly.
I went to the Hospital Radiology department, where I had gone for many years. However, I was supposed to be at Advanced Radiology. The receptionist showed me how to get to the right place. She walked me outside to point the way. Can you believe it?
Everyone today made me feel so good about this hospital.
I recently delivered a baby here (my 6th child) and while I dont know the future, I would come back again. All hospital food is bad no matter where you go! Unlike other hospitals , the nurses and the techs are not constantly bombarding you, the nurses even try to warn you when they will be back to give you time to rest. All of the nurses were VERY PATIENT. EVEN the one I yelled at during labor. The rooms are small but again I am not expecting a spa like vacation or anything.
this hospital is a sad place ,they make you wait hours before a doctor ,or even a nurse comes in the room .we were in lobby and two people walked out with iv.in arm .because they are putting one in everyone's arm if needed or not .10 hours is a long time to wait for results from xray .poor excuses of doctors . this hospital is worse than the one in Baltimore. don't waste your time coming to this hospital .
Had my baby at this hospital. The doctor on call was super rude and convinced me that I wouldn't be physically able to handle birthing without an epidural. He refused to support my wish to have a natural birth. Then, the doctor who did my epidural was also awful. He didn't explain anything to me about what to expect, like that I would be unable to move my body with the epidural in. He placed the epidural super high, so I was numb and paralyzed from my chest down which made it really hard to breathe normally. It was extremely traumatic and I really regret delivering my baby at this hospital. Once my baby arrived, we were supposed to see a lactation consultant within about 2 hours for support with breastfeeding. My baby was born at 9:51am and we didn't see a LC until after 8pm, and she did NOTHING. She told us her name and that her shift was over, so she was leaving. And she left. The nurses were the only good thing about this hospital. They were really sweet and attentive. If I ever have another baby, I will not be coming here, and I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone.
Last year I was suppose to have Myomectomy surgery at Saint Agnes Hospital. Since I canceled last year's appointment, I was rescheduled for the end of April here instead (as I was told by one of my assigned doctors, my insurance was completely covered at this location. I just received a copy of the bill today, and she was right. I didn't have to pay a dime.) I've been a patient of University of Maryland in Baltimore City, and I was treated extremely well, I didn't expect anything less here. I arrived a little before 9am and was admitted quickly. After going through paperwork, health questions, surgery questions/instructions, speaking with my surgeon (who is also my OBGYN at Kaiser Permanente who I've had for 2 years and trust her completely) I was sent into surgery an hour ahead of schedule. As this was my first time getting surgery, I was nervous but everyone there made me feel comfortable. I was given anesthesia and 2 hours later, I was awake. My surgeon spoke to me as the anesthesia was slowly wearing off to let me know my surgery was successful and smooth. There was a bit of wait time in order for me to get my own room, since I was staying overnight, but once I got there, it was a smooth transition towards healing. I wasn't too crazy about the pancakes and turkey bacon that was served the morning after but I was able to eat the turkey slices, mashed potatoes and bread for lunch. They made sure I was okay, that I was eating enough, giving me fresh refills of water with lots of ice. If I needed a bathroom break, and needed help getting up, a doctor was right there to help. Getting home was a bit harder than arriving, as a lot of taxis didn't come out to Glen Burnie and Glen Burnie taxis didn't go to the city with a taxi card. Once I was home, and the anesthesia wore off, I felt 10x better. I received a call the day after my discharge from the doctors at UMBWC and my surgeon/OBGYN, to ask if I was okay, answer any questions and to make sure I would have my medications. Each doctor/nurse gave me the highest level of care; Ms. Gayle, Mr. Sean (who was extremely cute), Ms. Taylor, Dr. Alvin, Dr. Odette, Ms. Helene. The young lady who wheeled me into surgery, I want to say her name starts with an, "S" but I could be wrong. She eased my anxiety heading into the O.R. Another young lady who assisted Dr. Alvin in taking out my catheter. Even the cleaning woman who wasn't suppose to clean my room until after I was discharged, and cleaned it anyway. They even made sure my mother was okay. That she had enough to eat, that she had enough pillows and blankets, that she was comfortable with the air conditioning. I thank each and every one of them for their kindness, compassion and for their laughs. I couldn't have gotten through such a new experience, if it weren't for them. Knowing that I have finally removed a Fibroid that I suffered from for over a year, is a relief but I know there's a chance I could develop another one in the future. (I hope not) If so, I wouldn't be opposed to going back to this place for another Myomectomy surgery. Today I feel a lot better, even with a scar that will be a constant reminder of what I had to go through, I felt safe with them.
Have been inpatient over 15times, have dealt with ER via ambulance, hsve had 4 major surgeries, 6 outpatient, &have dealt w/ their outpatient IV dept for months on end, & for the most part I was treated prerty well. I would rate @3.5 . The iv nurses are A1...now some house MDs are totally RUDE, they write rx orders for the floors Totally WRONG & in many occasions have never apoligized (im a pharmacist who knows 100-% more on dosing then most mds). I do know they underestimste pain meds & sometimes have REFUSED TO GIVE PTS THE SAME DOSE OF CHRONIC OPIOIDS EVEN WITH PROVIDING EMPTY BOXES W/ LABLES.. I suffer from M.S. z& wear fentanyl patches & have laid in bed shaking due to drs denying me my full dose and UNDERDOSE many meds
I had a minor problem requiring a trip to the ER. They took care of me pretty quickly. On top of that, everyone was nice and answered any questions I had. I hope to never have to visit again, but if I needed an ER, this would be the one I'd visit.
My husband was taken into the Emergency Room and then was in the Progressive Care Unit. I had wanted the Paramedics to take him to AAMC but because of an ice storm they had to go to the closest hospital. His treatment really was five star. The emergency room staff were great. He spent over a week in the Progressive Care Unit and they were all outstanding. Everyone- the Housekeeping staff(Beverly was a joy), nurses, techs, doctors, people who took meal orders and then delivered the food, respiratory therapists- went way beyond our expectations.
I wonder what the point of a freaking ER is when we have been here for 6 hours and the most we've been seen was to take blood. I wish Kimbrough had a ER.
Went through a horrible and very unprofessional experience with ER Dr. Christina Bennett and her intern. These Dr's had the worse bed side manners to me being the significant other. Dr Bennett never spoke, informed, or acknowledge me. The emergency was stressful enough, my better half was having trouble breathing that became worse to the point she couldn't talk. Not once through the duration did this Dr turn to me to answer questions or inform me of status. Completely unprofessional.
Today May 26, 2019 3.41 PM we arrived one hour ago with an emergency, posible appendicitis and my husband didn't receive attention waiting for??? What is the meaning emergency here???? Terrible attention
The nurses and staff took care of my mom so well after her toe had to be amputated due to a foot ulcer. If you want a high standard of care. This hospital was #1.
Horrible wait times .. be prepared to Spend at minimum 5 hours here .. mine as well take the extra trip to john Hopkins or Annapolis .. staff was extremely nice though
4 HOURS to be seen and it wasn t even that crowded or busy at the time. What is the purpose of it being called an EMERGENCY room if they aren t treating you as if you are having an emergency?!!
Do not ever come to this piece of sh?!$ hospital my 11 year old son snapped his arm completely in half and they have us waiting in a hallway and we are being told to calm down. They need to close this POS hospital and their horrible staff down.
July 17-18th Thank you to the staff here at UMBW. Kidney stone issue at 11pm Sunday brought more here to the ER. This was my first visit to this hospital. I could hardly walk I was in so much pain. There were many people here in the waiting room but not an intolerable amount. Though it felt like hours I was waiting in excruciating pain the professional, courteous and friendly staff were able to help me and alleviate my pain in just an hour. We were here until 3am then went home.
Back 9 hours later. After the pain began up again, I was feeling dizzy, nauseous and other things. My wife brought me back and so I've been here seen by so many wonderful members of the staff. Staying overnight.
As for all the nay sayers out there, curb your tongue and what you say about the staff here at the hospital. They are all doing their jobs just great. Thank you staff at UMBW I appreciate all that you've done for me these past 19 hours.
Listen, I recognize that hospitals are complex. ERs require a triage system. And no one in an ER is going to be happy. But you have a choice with your healthcare provider. Some of the professionals at this hospital are satisfactory, but as a complete end-to-end experience, this hospital is not good. I would only go here only if I had no other choice for medical care. Anne Arundel Medical Center is preferable and advisable.
This is the most slowest hospital. I was there yesterday 02/08/2018 for my son he is 5 months. My son was supposed to be seen I told the nurses that he was coughing so bad that you could hear in his chest! And that he was wheezing. We got to the hospital around 8:20 p.m they didn't call my son back , we were in the waiting room till 12 p.m , we finally decided to get up and leave. AND They didn't even call my phone later LIKE THEY USUALLY DO! to see if my son was OK. VERY UNORGANIZED FACILITY.
This emergency room is disgusting, it s filthy, the nursing staff has the worse attitudes, extremely unprofessional. While being triaged they decide to have a casual conversation with someone walking by as if the patient doesn t matter.. we can wait. The urgent care area has two ppl to a room.. yes during COVID-19 they put two ppl in a small room. The aids are at the desk eating. Just avoid this place. Not worth your time or your health.
Soooo mad , I drove here to take my mom to the ER , she was complaining about having back pains , we literally waited in the waiting room for 4 hours !! Not exaggerating and mind you this is the ER!!!!! SO we waited 4 HOURSSSS just so the doctor could come in this room with no uniform !! No gloves!!!! And no patience whatsoever with my mom !! Don t waste your time coming here !!! Drive pass here and head to another hospital where they treat the people right !!! Btw NOBODY had on proper uniform and everyone seemed as if they come to work for the check and not for the love of the job
This is not a hospital I would go to again! passed out was taken by ambulance, I was in pain from the fall, I was on that ambulance stretcher in the ER for nearly 3hrs, my husband told them what medications I was on and he would go home and get them if need be, they told him "oh no we will make sure she gets her meds!" NOPE never got any of my meds, now mind you I am a diabetic, im on BP med and Advair, they put me thru all of these useless test including a stress test, thankfully I had my rescue inhaler with me before doing the stress test, I was in the ER for over 14hrs, had to go to the bathroom in the process, they never hooked my IV or any of the things you are suppose to be hooked up to, the nurse came in said I was discharged and I looked at her and said "well this should be easy to do, I am not hooked up to anything! I could not wait to get out of that place, what a disappointment!
Hospitals don t generally get good reviews because patients are hurting and stressed. But this place deserves its score. Got into triage and an ER room very quickly, and that s the last thing that happened with reasonable speed. Forever to see a doctor (when I asked an hour and a half later, my son hadn t even been assigned a doctor). Nurses wander around chatting and won t even look at you when you re standing outside of the room trying to get their attention (the call button didn t work), medication request went ignored for two hours, then told they don t carry it). The doctor we needed to see wouldn t be back till the next day, so we had to stay all night or risk not getting into see her at all. We ended up being there five days (had to stay a whole extra day because the blood draw the first day was done so poorly), and hardly saw a doctor. The nursing staff got more attentive the longer you were there, but for the short-term urgent visit, they were remarkably unconcerned.
Addendum: We had to return again two months later for the same issue, and this time, my son was admitted into the Behavioral Health unit. My husband told the admitting nurse his medications and the correct dosage, and told the pharmacist later. His dosage on one had been reduced because it elevated his heart rate so much, and even though we told them NO LESS THAN FIVE TIMES the correct dosage, they still gave him too high a dose. His heart rate skyrocketed, he was moved to the ER, and they had to take measures to get his heart rate down. When we confronted them about the fact that they couldn t get the cotton out of their ears and actually listen to us, the pharmacist actually lied to me and said that my husband had told them, and confirmed, that he got the higher dosage. The behavioral health nurse tried to gaslight me by telling me that *I* had told her it was the higher dose. I would go *anywhere else* if Kaiser hadn t designated this as their ER.
I came here after a motorcycle accident. The paramedic laughed and told me to suck it up, from looking at me he was apparently able to tell I had broken nothing. After doing some quick tests, they shuffled me off to the waiting room where I sat for nearly three hours. In this time I nearly passed out multiple times from pain, with my arm feeling like it was separating from my shoulder, unable to stand. Finally they get me to a bed, the doctor takes three x-rays, tells me everything is fine, that I shouldn't worry about the excruciating pain in my shoulder, and they send me home. I get a callback the next day. Turns out I broke my clavicle. And they just missed that.
They are only concerned about getting you out as soon as possible.
This is the worst hospital in the state of Maryland I just left after 8,1/2 hour wait that a Dr Sent me and felt I should be seen. Did have a cat scan and an x-ray. That was it. 3 days of crying from a severe migraine, dizziness, vomiting no sleep, no eating I also had an injury to shoulder with pain at level 10. Was hoping for a non narcotic shot to stop the pain I have plenty of pain meds including for my migraine that I had take every 2 hours as prescribed. Obviously my problem was not worth seeing I'm in remission from cancer and have Cardiomyopathy along with multiple problems.. you couldn't pay me amillion to go there ever and I would tell you AAMC is where I will go back to and you should also. There were 2 homeless people laying down while the man was sexually touching her on the ER. A man left in a rage because no one would listen to him I feel your pain. Disgusting Hospital ever. I will be informing my insurance on the treatment and have them refuse the payment and also my attorneys
Brought my pregnant wife in at about 10pm, got her checked in then proceeded to wait. After about 30 minutes they called her into the side room to get vitals from the nurse. They put a port in her arm then sent us out to the waiting room. It is currently 3am and we still have five people ahead of us from what the nurse said. I would recommend if anyone has a medical emergency that they drive the extra 15-20 minutes to the next ER.
I will give -100 star for this trash hospital if i can. Please please if you are looking to go emergency go near by another hospital. Don't waste your time and money here. We have been here for labor and delivery for my wife but they keep us waiting almost 1-1/2 hour.
Great nurses but no follow through from the top. My sister has been there for almost 2 weeks and she had to wait 2 days to get her anxiety medicine. Not acceptable to tell someone they will have the medicine they normally have every day and then make them wait for 2 days. Not happy.
The ER... I just can t. I understand how triage works, dire need first. But there was no one... and when I say no one, I mean, NO ONE left in the ER waiting room. It was going on 3am and I was still just sitting there in agonizing pain. I held nothing back in triage, I rated my pain at a 10. So I don t understand how I was continuously overlooked. Spoke with the receptionist.. she gave me wait times that kept getting exceeded without me getting called. No Exaggeration. People that were there before & after me had came & went. I ended up sending my bf to Walmart to get some OTC pain relievers & decided to go home. If I m going to suffer in pain, at least I d be in the comfort of my own home. I went to urgent care the next morning.
They are rude and leave you waiting. I was personally treated as if I was a liar. The doctor kept cutting me and my husband off everytime we would try to explain anything. Final straw was be questioned as if I was a drug addict. I rather die than go to that dump
We rushed my daughter to the ER, pediatric, for a possible appendicitis. The ER nurses were awful! The ER room was dirty and definitely not like any I've ever been too. She was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. The hospital wasn't any cleaner. I was shocked at a place that should be clean due to sick people and keeping it sanitized. However, dust and dirt in corners and on top of equipment. I will never go back and definitely not recommend. I'd drive a little further.
I wish I could give no stars this is the worst hospital I have ever been in and I been to a lot of a hospitals as a firefighter/emt. We got to the hospital at 12am didn t get called to the back till 5am got put in a room and didn t see a doctor till I had to go out and go off on one of the nurses because we been just sitting in the room. It was after 8am till the doctor came in. I till everybody not to come to this hospital it s the worst. Then they tell me that I can t be in the room with my wife when they do the ultrasound. I m over this hospital. WORST HOSPITAL
I love this hospital the doctors are warm. Kind dedicated and absolutely wonderful. The ER is a special place I have never experience anywhere. Quick triage you are constantly being evaluated by doctors and nurses you get in quickly they assess you you see a doctor and get treated no long hours waiting just to get your temp taken. Its beautifully designed , it fosters a relaxed environment. I have had two major surgeries here and it was a pleasant stay each time the staff works as a team to get healthy. Every person I encountered was pleasant and focussed on my well being. I am scheduled for a knee replacement surgery and at least once a week someone calls me to make sur I have what I need pre OP and post OP. This place makes surgery and healing a great place to be and they are on top of educating you pre and post OP and artful in pain management even working without opioids. I have a lot of allergies and the last two surgeries I was able to manage pain and heal completely and regain function and normal movement in my spine and knee
I coming to the emergency I broke my leg , and they ask me just wait I worked four hours and I spake with the reception what happened she told me just wait maybe you worked five hours six hours one day not sure I canceled everything though
Reading some of the reviews others have written, I find myself indifferent. While it is very frustrating to have to wait so long to be seen, I feel that some are directing their anger and frustration towards the wrong people. Nobody likes to wait for anything, especially when ur not feeling well. But I believe a large number of people miss use the emergency room. The emergency room is for exactly what the title states...emergencies! It is NOT one s personal doctor. If you have a cold or any other true non emergency, go to ur local doc in the box . This will allow the Er to help the true emergencies. Until people stop cluttering the er s in the area with non emergencies, u can expect to continue to have the same issues as stated by all the others who left their reviews
02-08-2018 We arrived at 1700hrs. My wife has a uvalien cyst that ruptured. The staff checked us in quickly I was very impressed. Now it's 2151 hrs and we are still waiting for her test results. I don't care to much for sitting in a room of sick people. But we have to do what we have too. My only issues is the wait time. We are still waiting.
Horrible hospital. The ambulance took my daughter to this hospital because we were in arundel mills mall. She was bleeding since she fell in the mall and open her chin. Once we arrive the ambulance took all her info.the hospital did not have us cause to prevent the bleeding we were using brown tissue from the mall. They let us wait after 2 hours triage did not call her. When I confronted them asking why and she still bleeding they answer "their is 4 patience in front of her". I saw people come after me, and even got treated. So I ask them to discharge her I took my 4 years old out of the worst hospital. On my way to Holy cross since is near our home. I called PM pediatrics and they took her in with no excuses did a very clean work within 30 minutes of arrival. We were out in less than 2 hours. I am so glad I took my daughter out of this hospital before was too late.
If I could give a zero I would give zero . These people don t give a flying dookie what you got goin on , NOT EVEN ONE MEMBER OF THE STAFF HAD A DAMN BAND AID HAD TO GO OUT MY WAY TO FIND ONE Nd it s a hospital , I was rushed in the emergency room after a terrible car crash then rushed to the waitin room , idk what kind of sense these people are using to run this facility probably none at all it s goin on 3am Nd I arrived here round 1015 , don t even waste your time GOD literally works faster than these people , just pray ,honestly this ain t even worth it , they brought me here to make me mad at this point
I sense the ER must be different. I can only speak for main surgery center my father went through an excellent major surgery staff was very courteous and kind dads receiving excellent care.
I was brought in there due to having 3 seizures. I do have epilepsy. I was given medicine that my family specifically told them I can t take and why I can t take. However they gave it to me for 3 days!!! This medicine makes me dizzy and lethargic. I was like a zombie I was told. That has never happened after I ve had a seizure!! I wasn't unconscious however I remember none of what happened. I broke my thumb and they didn t X-ray until my husband told them to. I may now have to have surgery due lack of care while in there. There should be a option for 0 star.
I just left there heading to Annapolis. I saw the nurse for vitals and why I was there. I told her my left shoulder, neck, and the back side of my head were very painful a 9 on the scale. I also told her that I just came from my neurologist and he told me to come. I have documents from my dr and MRI of my spine. She would not take notes or inform them. I waited 2.5 hours before leaving.and check twice on status. I was told I was #3 out of a list of long waits.
I came into the hospital for seizures While visiting from out of town. I honestly don t remember much about the visit in the hospital but I do know they got the combination of medications correct. Dr.Iqbal was an amazing doctor and helped my husband and I while transitioning back home. He is an amazing and caring individual.
A few horrible nurses when I first entered the emergency room but afterwards only a pleasant experience. Keep in mind, you will have to wait 5hours or more for a room.
This place deserves zero stars! Wait times are ridiculous! While there I never seen a doctor... the test ran were not sufficient, I m still suffering in pain after them trying to force antibiotics and pain pills down my throat! They never listened to my actual problem! After flipping out on two nurses and rn I just left... 7 hrs that day and 9 the previous(I just left no test nothing done) yet asking me 110 times if I want pain Meds or morphine...no I want answers! Never got them! I wouldn t take a rat to this place... save yourself and your family from here! They put patients that came in ambulance out in waiting room for hours on end! This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to, and they use to be decent...not anymore!
3+ hours and I have yet to see a doctor about a chest x-ray.... at 1am. These people don't care about patients. Would not recommend anyone come here. By far the worst place I have ever been to receive health care.
This place sucks. Every time I go to this place they alway say there is nothing wrong with me. Also I sent in the waiting room for hours. Also their stuff and doctors are lazy . They just getting paid for free. I never going here ever again. They suck something awful.
This emergency room sucks. My dad fell and needed stitches not only have all the staff been rude and not helpful we and about 20 others have been waiting hours also my dad is a cancer patient. It had me wondering was anybody working here at all!! Awful! If you can go somewhere else please go!
Delivered a healthy baby boy here!! Was able to get a successful epidural and the nurses & staff are very kind. The lactation specialist team is just the best and I feel really grateful to have had my baby here! My doctor was in touch with the nursing staff and it was good to see that they communicated well.
Short wait time. Awful service. I was told my son didn't have a splinter and today I was finally able to pull it out. It was huge. Pediatrician sent us there because the splinter was too deep for her to remove. Horrible. Go elsewhere.
