Went in for first appointment with my 9 week old puppy. The staff was friendly and informative. They also treated my puppy with great care and love. For a first time patient, he felt super comfortable and didn't even bark or cry!

These folks are the best! I couldn't be anymore happier. The nurses here are the best. This was my pup's first ever vet visit, so obviously I had so many questions for them. They answered all the questions I had for my pup. I'm really glad I chose this Veterinary clinic over other. Also this place is right on Newbury St, which is 20 mins by walk from my place.

All staff members are extremely loving to the pets that attend there and accommodating to their needs, anxiety etc.... Not to mention Dr. Carey is one of the best veteranarians we have seen with our pet and we saw her as a second opinion. Will most likely become our primary doctor for our pets!! I cant say enough nice things about this place :)

My beloved cat, George, had been losing his appetite and not acting like himself, so after a recommendation from my friend I brought him to Back Bay. Never have I found such exceptional veterinary care. They were warm and caring and I felt completely comfortable leaving George with them since I couldn't come in because of COVID. They promptly diagnosed him with diabetes and kidney issues and he is feeling so much better.

We were sad that we couldn't go to Heal Vet clinic in Watertown due to long wait list times but were happy when we found Back Bay Vet from a recommendation through a friend. They are a well organized group especially during COVID and communicate to your before, during, and after the appointment. I loved that I was able to actually speak to the vet while they were with our puppy and ask lots of questions without feeling rushed or inferior. The app makes things easier to schedule and coordinate but it definitely needs some work/updating when requesting appointments for a smoother process.

I do also like how I can text the office from my cell phone which is super convenient!

When I went, the office was understaffed, but they were still very friendly, despite the unexpected stresses. Great team! They really go out of their way to make the animals feel comfortable, especially cats!

I love this vet clinic. I've visited so many places with my cat, and I really trust this establishment. Other places, not so much. But this place is absolutely a winner! Lots of communication. Lots of love. Lots of compassion. You can tell they really care for my pet.

I am sure I drive the team here crazy with all of my questions related to my 8 month old puppy, Lucy. However, they handle each of my questions with care, thoughtfulness, and genuine concern no matter how silly I think they may be! Lucy has seen Dr. Tess Ganaway and Dr. Suzy Pence multiple times for all of her puppy visits, and I cannot say enough about how smart, patient, and caring the both of them are. Aurora and Katrina at the desk could not be more kind on the phone when you call. The prices may be a bit more than your typical neighborhood vet, however knowing your animal is in the best care possible with the best doctors and techs possible absolutely makes it all worth it. I've been using Back Bay vet for 10 years. They consistently go out of their way to check on my pet and take his care to the next level. Recently my fiance was taking his pet to another pet in the area. His cat had been sick for 5-6 months, the other vet noted he was older and had arthritis. After one visit with Back Bay Vet they noted he had sever issues with his gums and jaw as well as Kidney disease. He was in for surgery within a week and we started medicating him for his kidney disease. At 16 years old, our cat has a new lease on life and is the healthiest he has been in years!! This Clinic cares, they go the extra mile, they are compassionate, empathetic and smart. Couldn't recommend them more! For a note, we have moved 40 minutes out of the city and continue to go back for care!

I am new to the area and needed to find a vet where my dog would feel instantly comforted. The office was clean, organized and the entire staff was friendly! Dr. Wheeler was very professional, empathetic, and knowledgable. They offer an abundant supply of medications and services. Would highly recommend this vet

Went there with multiple concernes about my bearded dragon. The staff were super friendly and willing to help. The vet was great. She addressed all of my concerns. When she didn't recognize a mark on my beardies belly I'm concerned about she said she would do research and wants daily emails to track progression. 10/10 would recommend.

Nice folks, knowledgeable. Issue is that everything is pricier here than other vets (understandable considering it's on Newbury St). For example, most of the products sold here are around double the price elsewhere/online.

BBVC is by far one of the best experiences for taking care of your pet's health. They are concerned, realistic and proactive in care for your beloved pet. I wouldn't consider taking my pet any place else.

They are very empathetic and caring. Everyone wants to make pets comfortable and you can tell they truly care.

New to Boston and very happy to have taken my 7 yo lab/pit mix here. Everything was professional and straightforward, including what to expect for the bill. Also, clever and gentle means of administering vaccinations. Best vet I ve been to. Might be on the pricey end but it s in Back Bay so not surprising. Worth it though. Convenient hours for people with regular working hours (my appt was at 7am). Definitely recommend!

Really excellent experience here. My English bulldog has some pretty bad environmental allergies, among other health issues. Dr. Sager-Gellerman has been fantastic at helping us mediate his allergies while being so mindful of my dogs other health problems The entire staff is welcoming and patient. Their pricing is fair and my dog loves shopping all the toys when we go in. Overall just a really wonderful vet experience every time we visit!

Back Bay's customer service and care is outstanding - they always attend to me and my pets quickly and with such kindness!

We received excellent care for Jake from everyone at Back Bay Veterinary Clinic. It was greatly appreciated that Jake was carried down the staircase because he is unsteady at his age and easily falls. Great care from Dr Sorbo on the day of his appointment and excellent follow-up afterwards.

STAY AWAY! This vet has four inexperienced first year vets on its staff. One of the vets diagnosed early stage kidney disease in my six year old dog. I brought the dog to my old vet who has extensive experience and who is highly regarded in the community. He thought the test they had used was unreliable and that they had not run a proper blood panel to determine the presence of early stage kidney disease. To be safe I had him retest my dog and he ran a proper blood panel and tested the dog's urine. Everything was normal and there is no evidence of kidney disease. These people had me scheduled for follow up tests and were recommending an expensive MRI. It is clear that they were just sticking their hands in my pocket. I asked the Medical supervisor at Back Bay to consult with my vet and he told her that her testing was faulty. She then told me that he agreed with her diagnosis which was just a lie. I spent $400 at Back Bay for the misdiagnosis and another $350 to confirm that what they told me was wrong. They still have not taken responsibility for their errors.

Had my puppy Shea here from when i got her at 8-weeks until i moved when she was about a year and a half! nothing but friendly helpful service from each member of the team!

I know the situation with pandemic does not allow meeting the vet or being in the room while my pet is examined, I just wish I could be there with my furry babies. Otherwise, I love the clinic and superb staff!

BBVC was my local veterinarian for my dog Dozer when I lived in Boston. It was recommended to me by my friend because they used them for their dogs and the litter of Australian Shepherd puppies they had. Overall a quality clinic doing great work with very friendly staff. They might be a little more expensive because they are in Back Bay, but I found the money well spent. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because on at least one occasion they tried to sell me on a service my dog didn't need. Similar to my mechanic, trust and transparency is important, which I would say I had with them overall.

Back Bay Veterinary Clinic is an amazing place! The doctors and staff are professional, extremely knowledgeable, and caring. My mini-Goldendoodle is typically a nervous wreck but the staff put him at ease quickly and the doctors took excellent care of him. They follow-up with me at home after to be sure he was improving and put my mind at ease. I highly recommend, wouldn't go elsewhere!

I was anxious about my dog's first visit being during COVID when I wouldn't get to be there with her and to share her background but Back Bay Veterinary spent ample time speaking with me about my dog prior to bringing her inside and the follow up during and post visit has been incredible. I'm really impressed and pleased with the level of thorough care they are giving my sweet old girl.

Of course no one wants to take their pet to the vet, but taking mine to Back Bay Vet is that exception! My pups are immediately put at ease with the genuine caring nature of each and every member of the team. They know our names and focus entirely on my pups well being. In addition to that, they are extremely skilled and have a breadth of experience and knowledge that's hard to beat. I have been a dog owner for nearly 40 years and Back Bay Vet is by far the best I have ever gone to.

Super horrible. We had a reservation but they refused to give a treatment and asked me to reschedule again. I have already waited for 30 minutes and all they wanted me to do is going away. Who can cure my little cat!

Even though they are doing curbside drop off and pick up, Dr. King was able to speak with me on the phone and answer all my questions thoroughly. though my my chameleon was on his worst behavior, they still took the time to patiently examine him. The tech who I spoke to over the phone after I checked in was also very kind. It is so hard to find a clinic that has quality exotic care so I am blessed to have found Back Bay vet. It is my first ever review on anything, but this place deserves all the credit. I can't say enough how happy I am with my experience. I brought my cat today to get the Veterinary Health form required for a domestic flight. All the staff was super nice, caring, and informative. Before the visit, they gave me all the tips to make my cat s visit as fear-free as possible. When we got there, due to COVID, they weren't allowing people inside, but the process was very smooth. I got to talk with the doctor on the phone during the examination, which was nice and informative. They even translated my cat's previous medical history, which was in Turkish, and provided me a letter to give to the airport staff in order not to have difficulties there, not upon my request! I've never seen my cat so calm after a vet visit. Highly recommend!

My dog was treated so well - I can't thank the back bay vet clinic enough! I felt so comfortable and would give them all my trust in caring for my pet. They were responsive, supportive and followed up even after she was no longer in their direct care. Would highly recommend!

These people mean business. They provide excellent medical care for your pet with utmost dedication and attention to detail. Their rates are admittedly on the costlier side, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

I cannot give enough praise for how this clinic handled my little pups appointment. We are new to Boston and hadn t set up a vet yet. Our dog, Irma, became ill with a high fever. Back Bay Veterinary Clinic was the only clinic able to get us in same day.

Irma is leash reactive and doesn t really feel comfortable around males. These behaviors were amplified by her being quite ill. The staff was totally accommodating and met her where she was. I even heard one of the techs ask the male vet to leave the back room so Irma could go back for her fluids.

Most of the reviews talk about the price. Are they expensive? Yes, but it was 100% worth it for how helpful and accommodating they are. Plus, it s Boston, everything is expensive!

If you have a reactive or special needs pet, this is the place for you.

Loved our experience with the Back Bay Veterinary Clinic! My wife and I are first time dog owners and brought in our puppy for his first visit. Everyone at the facility was awesome, extremely friendly and helpful. Both Kris and Tess made sure to thoroughly explain everything to us and answer all of our questions. And when we brought our pup for a late-night checkup at a 24-hour facility, Katherine from Back Bay followed up the following morning to make sure everything was ok.

After putting off getting a vet closer to my new home for years, I finally had to when my dog needed immediate attention and I couldn't make the hour long trip to our old vet. I could not be happier that we chose Back Bay vet. We had a wonderful experience, the prices are fair, and Dr. King and the staff have been very informative and communicative. I would highly recommend!

They were great with my cat who came from a not-so-good place before I got him. They consulted with me before proceeding with certain procedures and have a friendly staff. Thank you to the techs and Dr. Carey!

3rd edit. Just keeps getting worse. Hopefully boston vet clinic has an opening soon.

Pros: convenient location. Typically good turn around and easy appointment booking.

Cons: when my corgi had a visible ear infection but the swab much further down in the canal came back negative and I had tell the vet to look at his swollen and bumpy read ear before I got prescribed antibiotics. We also don't typically get the same vet (4 have handled our dog's case in 2 months). Having so many vets on staff is convenient for quick appointments but not if they dont pass patient info. Vets and staff used to be very reliable and nice but now its rude and uncaring. I also was very much overpaying for preventatives and medication and switched to chewy or pick up from cvs.

Also there's when my 40% charge phone died on the walk over because of the cold they didn't offer any resolution other than for me to will a working phone into existence. They could have offered to put it on charge or call a pay phone or something but we just had to cancel the appointment for a suspicious lump.

They stealing money from there costumers without fixing any thing, too bad.

Everyone at the practice is amazing and treat our rescue with such care (even when she doesn't return the favor). Dr. Gannaway is the best!

A few years ago we moved from Boston to the South Shore (40 min drive) and even still, we make the trip into the city whenever we need Dr. Wheeler and her excellent team. We have never come across a better veterinarian facility, period. A few days ago, our dog had four surgeries at the same time and we feared his recovery will be a rough one but in two days he was back on his feet and acting normally again which simply speaks to how good Dr. Wheeler really is. One day after the surgeries he was in pain so they immediately sent a new prescription and Dr. Wheeler even followed up with us after hours. This office genuinely cares about the pets they see and because of that, we refuse to go anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Their online vet service to purchase pet food is not reliable at all. They already left me three times with no food for my cat, even though I m enrolled in auto ship, because they were unable to fulfill my order but they haven t warned me nor called me nor emailed me. I had to chase them every time. Now I m again without the food, that of course they have my prescription linked to this place so I cannot go anywhere else to buy the food and my cat has kidney issues so I don t even know how I m going to feed him. They just could not care less about it, they are not responsive at all.

Nothing could have made my visit better. The vet and assistant were extremely nice and understanding about my pets treatment and my lapse in knowledge about her tooth condition. I didn't feel chastised for not knowing about tooth tarter and it sincerely felt like they wanted to help make her better.

I have wanted to write this review since I left our first visit in January, but every time I sat down to do it, it always felt substandard. It really comes down to this: you could not bring your pet to better humans than those at Back Bay Vet. They hashtag many of their Instagrams with #allcreaturesgreatandsmall and you feel that sentiment all around you when you re there.

From the people who check you in, to the techs, and the doctors, you will not find more patient, friendly, animal-respecting people in Boston. They took such good care of my sweet little guinea pig from the moment we met. I m admittedly a bit of a worrier (understatement of the year), and even I felt wholly comfortable boarding her for over 4 days at BBVC, knowing she would be safe and getting the best possible care.

And I didn t just bring her here for basic check ups or nail trims. Dr. Satchu performed major surgery on her, and continued to follow up regularly with me even beyond her formal recovery period had ended. I can only scratch the surface here of all the love and compassion she showed both my guinea pig and myself during such a difficult time; there really aren t words to describe it fully.

I tell everyone that they could not put their trust or their beloved animals in the hands of better people than they could here. I m only sad that I don t have more friends with pets that I could recommend BBVC to. Thank you for everything that you do.

I cannot recommend enough - Dr. Graham has been so diligent in answering all our questions and following up during a time when we were so concerned about our puppy. I have never felt more cared for in both human and animal medical care!

I have been bringing my pets here since they opened, and even though I live in the burbs now I will not take my present one any where else. The care and their accommodating
schedule is unsurpassed and very much appreciated.

I adore Back Bay Vet Clinic. I bring my 2 persian cats in and actually look forward to the visits! The office is super cute, everyone working is friendly and helpful, and the vets are wonderful (and we've seen several!). Their hours are really convenient - I've been able to get my cat in at the last minute at 7:30pm when they close at 8 and they're open on weekends! Whenever I have any concerns, I call them and they see us right away. I feel like my cats are genuinely cared about by everyone on the staff. I recommend them to anyone!

We ended up needing a vet the Friday before Christmas, most we called had no availability. Back Bay was able to get us an appointment same day. We didn't have a wait, though their waiting room is very nice. They even have calming shirts for dogs and a dog bed in the waiting room. The vet covered all options and let us decide how we wanted to proceed. He even followed up by email that night and the next day.

One thing to note, parking around here can be difficult. There are street metered spots and a garage not far.

I cannot say enough about the staff at Back Bay Veterinary clinic. The expert, personalized and loving care that my dog and cat receives is a benchmark for other clinics to try to emulate. Every team member, from front desk to the MD are the highest standard possible. And the location cannot be beat. It is easy to find a parking space in that area. The Clinic is soothing, sterile and thoroughly modern. I cannot recommend Back Bay Veterinary Clinic strongly enough !!

Back Bay Veterinary Clinic is wonderful. Dr. Bendock has such a calming presence with our yellow lab. She and her staff are incredibly professional, helpful and caring. They go above and beyond to provide the best care. Dr. Bendock makes house calls and always explains what she is doing in such a loving way to our small children and even lets them help when appropriate. We couldn t ask for more from BBVC. Best preventive care. Best listeners. Best at professionalism. When my pet goes for a checkup or procedure, he is naturally nervous but also happy to see the staff.

I brought my two cockatiels for a annual check up and I wasn't happy with the way that the avian vet treated my birds. She treated them as if they were pests and used human nail clippers on my birds instead of the appropriate nail clippers that should be used on birds. They also took 3 months to get back to me for test results that should have taken them one week. This practice only cares about cats and dogs. I suggest going to MSPCA for your avian care because they don't care about birds at this practice.

My dog has been to three different hospitals and seen over five different veterinarians regarding his complicated health issues. The care he has received at our short time with Back Bay has surpassed my expectations. Dr. Graham Sager-Gellerman has gone above & beyond in ensuring my pet is receiving the best care possible. His thorough explanations and genuine care has made dealing with this stressful situation much more manageable. Highly recommend!

During my visit, the only thing they did is trying to make me check my pet s blood and do x-ray. The doctor spent no more than 5 minutes checking my pet s condition, and spent half an hour talking about potential serious diseases from kidney failure to heart problem to scare me and make me accept those expensive tests that she suggested. When I asked her to evaluate the situation of my pet, she even said if I don t do X-ray, your pet is gonna die . Very disappointed by the service. Won t visit again.

I'm finally leaving a review, after using their services for the last 2.5 years. We've had some tough times with our pets, having to unexpectedly put down our 4 year old cat due to cancer, and recently an emergency visit, when my second cat swallowed a long piece of a felt toy that was causing complications. In all visits the staff here have been kind, supportive, and gave us the information we needed to make the best decisions for our pets. Dr. King, and especially Dr. Carey, have helped us through some very, very difficult decisions, while making it clear that if we had follow up questions we should contact them again.

You might be able to find cheaper vet services by looking elsewhere, but the quality of care we get here makes it more than worth the price.

I rarely write reviews, but I have been a client of BackBay Vet Clinic for close to 10 years and honestly, this glowing review is long overdue!! I cannot speak highly enough of the deeply professional, caring, and respectful staff - this includes ALL personnel, from the doctors themselves to the administrative staff who greet us the moment we walk in. My dog doesn't know how good she has it!! I have never seen such personalized attention and diagnostic expertise provided to my dog on such a consistent basis. I wanted a second opinion for my puppy who was diagnosed with heartworm despite knowing that we would have to go through some serious treatment I just needed that assurance that we were doing the right thing Dr Graham is phenomenal his care is listening his understanding his compassion and his kindness are a valuable asset to this veterinary clinic into all pet parents
although we are going with a local vet for the treatment due to the severity of the treatment in comfort for my puppy I will be returning to this veterinary clinic for all further follow-ups once we are done with heartworm treatment

This place will harass you to get a procedure done. I've been emailed and called numerous of times about a teeth cleaning for my dog that adds up to about $1200. But they can't send me a free diet program for my dog when they said they would? Very professional. I'd consider going to a different veterinary clinic because they obviously care more about their profits more than our animals.

Dr. Tess was great and every vet tech was great with our dog, even though she jumped on all of them. Definitely recommend!

Back Bay Vet does a fantastic job at putting both the client and the pet at ease. I was recommended Back Bay Vet by a friend who used them and her recommendation was spot on. They are extremely communicative, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to ensure you that your pet is cared for. They have also taken fantastic measures to ensure social distancing measures during this crazy time, while still making sure they provide necessary services. I cannot recommend them enough. As a first-time pet owner, I'm thrilled they exist within walking distance!

I have taken one of my cats here a couple of times because it was very conveniently located in my neighborhood. Beautiful new practice right on one of Boston's main shopping streets. But you get to pay a hefty fee for the privilege.

I don't doubt that their care is good, but I always felt that you are given a list of treatment options, with the most extensive and expensive one the one that is recommended.

During my last visit here they recommend a "senior cat exam" for my totally healthy 9 yo cat, so I said sure. Not exactly sure what they did other than take blood and urine, because the appointment didn't take any longer than a regular one. The only difference was that for the first time ever, my cat was totally freaked out afterward and actually pooped in her carrier, which she had never done before (or since). And when the bill came, it was $442 (or something like that--I almost fainted). That's a lot of money for a totally routine examination.

So, it you go here, make sure you bring a lot of money. Or at least ask beforehand what the treatment will cost.

I've been coming here for the past year since my boyfriend and I got our puppy, and have had just an amazing experience. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable, fantastically compassionate, and you never have to wait too long for an appointment.

I pop in all the time with random questions, and for prescription refills, and they do a fantastic job patiently helping me with everything. I'm sure I drive them crazy with my constant questions, but they handle everything so professionally.

Overall great vet, and I wholeheartedly reccomend them to any dog-parent in the area.

They told us we have to pay $500 more because my 6 year old dog is alreday too old to do that surgery even they told us this cost right before we have to send our dog to the surgury room while we were crying ( that means they did not tell us that extra cost in advance) we had to agree with that in front of the surgeon who is going to do surgery 1minute later!
Did they ripped us off or is it the normal cost for that surgery???
