I am so disappointed in Mackin's. I've used them several times in the past with excellent results. Not so this time.

My car was vandalized and Safeco sent me to Mackin's to get an estimate. I went and agreed to having them do the work. All I needed was a new rear passenger window and an antenna. The total estimated time to do the job was 3 hours.

I dropped the car off at 10:30am and got a call in the early afternoon informing me my car would not be ready til the following day because their technician broke my window clips and and new ones were on order. I asked them to get me a rental car since they couldn't deliver the car in the time frame they promised. Scott (a Mackin's mgr?) refused. Nice. So I shelled out money for a rental car. So much for customer service.

I picked up the car the following day and the used glass they installed was dirty and had two rock chips on it. Funny thing is I inspected the glass with Mackin's employee Hector prior to the installation and didn't see any defects. My hunch is they damaged it and installed it anyway. Nice. So much for doing quality work.

Now I have to go back and have Mackin's install another window and hope they don't break the clips!

I swore by these guys in the past. Now I just wanna swear at them. Never again.

Great customer service and communication about the status of my car! Also, the most swift transaction with a car rental company and insurance company I ve ever had! I will definitely trust mackins with any future needs and refer others! Thank you James for getting my baby back right!!

Friendly staff, great price, easy to work with and communicative about timing of repair.

They'll repair your car then have an employee cut you off before hitting you while you're in riding a bicycle in the bicycle lane.

Friendly service, provided updates every Tuesday and Thursday via text message so I never felt "in the dark" on progress.

Huge shout out to Mark at Mackins who really took care of my car. I got rear ended a few weeks ago and took my car straight to Mackins thanks to a recommendation. When I called, mark picked up and was such a delight to talk to after a car accident. He was so professional and caring and was able to get me in for an estimate within a few hours. When I took my car in, both mark and Kelly from the front desk were just absolutely amazing. From beginning to finish, I had a great experience at Mackins. Thank you for bringing my car back to life!

My insurance company directed me to this company. The original estimate was half of what they actually charged my insurance company. If I had to pay for work on my own that would not have been ok. Great work great service but the cost was questionable.

Got rear ended and this was the closest place to me. Ended up being perfect. Eliseo was great in communicating with me about timelines. My bumper looks great and they even detailed it!

Was a repair shop that did only what was nessacary to complete the job. What they did was a great paint job and. Replaced my bumperas instructed by the ins co.

Excellent service, very helpful, always courteous even when I got upset about the insured s insurance company s games. I picked up my car this morning and it was beautifully restored to pre-loss perfection. When I went to pay for the repairs, my bank froze my account because of the amount. It took 45 min to get them paid and it was frustrating. Mark was my assigned shop person and he took the time with me to make sure I was all right after the frustration with the bank. He really cared about me as a person and not just a transaction. When I went to get in my car, he had had my car detailed! Above and beyond! Great team at Mackins, everyone was super nice and caring. Fantastic experience for me! I recommend them highly.

I ve used Mackin s twice and each time they were amazing! They do great work and they seem like they really care about your vehicle. My car looks just like it did before it was damaged. Everyone has been extremely nice and professional. I worked with James and he was very helpful and informative. Being a female, I m always worried that I m going to be taken advantage of, but I never felt that way a Mackin s. I also really appreciate that they detailed my car in and out. I would highly recommend Mackin s.

Honest folks. Went in for a minor ding in my hood. Lady there said it was a paintless repair and while she could give me an estimate, she didn't want to take my money as it would be more costly for their shop to fix it. She then gave me a referral for a paintless mobile shop. I thought that was very honest and I appreciated her help.

This has been a great experience, dropped my car off and I received text messages updating me of the progress of the repairs and the repairs look great you can t even tell that my car was in an accident

Went in about a busted back tail light which I didn't think would cost all that much to replace. They wanted to charge me $500 to replace the tail light. I couldn't afford that so I looked at how to do it myself. Turns out the part was $125 and took me (I don't know hardly anything about cars) 5 minutes to replace. They wanted to charge me $375 for 5 minutes of labor.

I'm sure they do great work, but they will try to take advantage of you.

My car looked great when I picked it up! They were great about updating me with phone calls and text messages.

A bump to my bumper was fixed in a flash. Service was on time and under budget, staff friendly and professional throughout.

My car was totaled and Mackin's did the evaluation. They were efficient and pleasant as could be under the circumstances. The process was seamless. Too bad about my car, but that's not their fault!

I took my vehicle to to Mackin's after getting swiped by a public transportation bus and they did a phenomenal job. They kept me up to date on the status of my vehicle both phone call and text message, as requested. My vehicle was also done 3 days sooner than initially expected. Since my damage was done at the front driver's bumper they did a realignment and detailed my vehicle. They also touched up a rust spot on the opposite side of my vehicle as a courtesy. Hector was my helper and he was such a pleasant associate to work with. I could not be happier with my experience and I would recommend this shop to anyone!

We had a perfect experience having our back panel repaired by Mackin's in North Portland. Great customer service. Our car not only came back repaired, but clean and shiny inside and out. I will definitely use them again if I need an auto body shop again.

This is my 3rd time needing a car repair in the past 15 years. I ve used Mackin each time. They do excellent work. They are timely and professionally polite. They still maintain a nice old school hospitality in their work! As long as I m in Portland and need auto body repair, I ll go to Mackin on N Denver.

Mackin's was awesome! I was referred to them through an insurance claim and they were one of the nearest shops to my house. They were prompt with getting my car in for an estimate and in for repair. I absolutely LOVE that they text updates every Tuesday and Thursday and they had my car done in one work week! My car was clean on the inside and out upon return, which was a nice surprise. The rental process was seamless as they have a have a contract with Enterprise. Will definitely be headed back if I have any car troubles in the future!

Quick and convenient service. I d use them anytime I needed body work on my car.

Big thumbs up for these guys. Auesome friendly and very professional business with a welcoming charm from the employees. All the tech auto body guys are exceptionally focused. their attention to details and fine precision work when it comes to fixing your vehicle it is no wonder how they are still Here since 1945. Your vehicle is in thru an estimate and off to the hands of auto body then straight across the street for fresh paint job and into the detailers bae shop for a fresh clean prep. And before u know it ur back in the drivers seat with simple satisfaction. Definitly recommend if ur vehicle is in need of some love...

Mackins in North Portland was great and I would definitely take my car back! They completed a quote timely and once I decided to get my car repairs done there they were able to get me in quickly and give me an estimated date of when my car would be ready. I loved that they texted me updates twice a week which kept me in the loop and seemed to make the process go much smoother. Additionally since my car was hit it was a really easy process since Mackins works directly with insurance companies. I received a rental car that was ready for me onsite and they sealed with all the billings with the insurance company. Overall, I would definitely recommend going there.

These guys rock! I go here for all my service and never have an issue. They are honest and get their work done quickly. I was also recently in an accident and when I got my car back (5 days earlier than expected) they had washed the outside and had the inside detailed-the cleanest my car has been since I bought it! Debbie the office manager is great at explaining things and making sure you know what is going on with your vehicle.

Good service but had to wait a long time past apointment time

I had the best experience at Mackin's Auto Body with their great service. The estimation of how many days it took to get done was right on time. Mark O'Grady was so helpful and understanding when my 2014 Subaru Impreza got rear ended. Mark always updated with me weekly when my Subaru was going to be done. I highly reccomend this location if anyone is looking for a auto body shop. You would not be disappointed with Mark and his team.

After being a regular customer with them for years, I found myself in need of work on my Dodge Dakota. It needed a New Heater Core. Small part not too expensive in the grand scheme of things. I asked if I could have the part shipped to them from the local shop due to the fact that I can get an employee discount on parts (I was just looking to save a little money. But can understand if they were nice and simply said "sorry, we can't do that" or "We have had bad experiences and would rather not" or even "No we can't do that". But instead the response was "FINE... That just takes us out of the equation!" I said "So you won't warranty the job if I have the Shop you're going to get the part from ship it to you so I can get my Discount?" the answer was "Well NO. It's not our part we're not going to warranty the job if it's not our part!" Keep in mind I only wanted a quote to know just how much it was going to cost me. So the Lady that is in charge of the shop quotes said "Did you want to bring in your own Coolant too!?" If that's not a Pissy Attitude I don't know what is!!!

So I will say this... I Use to Love the work they did on my vehicles in the past. But not being given any respect as a future customer makes my decision rather easy!

I have 2 other jobs I was going to follow up with them after this one and was (that night when I was so poorly treated!) going to get a quote for my GF's Truck hood to be repainted at the same time. It's going to take an extreme act to convince me to return to "Mackin's"!

I am so glad I was referred to Mackin s North Portland. The service and workmanship were the highest quality, exceeding expectations, the car was done a bit early, and the estimate was accurate.

Great experience! Johnathon Starr, friendly, professional and honest. Gave me an original estimate with parts and labor that was more than what I end up paying. Did not need one of the parts and Johnathon charged me less on labor. The new mirror looks great!

At Mackin's the service was timely provided by professional staff, keeping me posted through the whole process. The final product (body repair and paint) was excellent.

Nothing better after have suffered the stress of a damaged vehicle than to deal with a most helpful and courteous staff. They went out of the way to ensure that all concerns were addressed. They went beyond what was expected. Hopefully I will never need their services again, but if the unthinkable happens, I will have them do the repairs with no hesitation.

For years I used Mackin's on Denver for mechanical work (which they gave up years ago), so when our insurer listed them after a fender-bender, that's where we went. Except for some minor communications issues, all went smoothly. They worked with our insurer to keep our old-but-nice car rom becoming "totaled", and fixed all the problems wonderfully. Thank you again, guys, for a job well done!

getting in a fender-bender is never fun, but every time someone hits my car I am at least thankful to have Mackin's to take care of my car. They have excellent, prompt, customer service and are extremely professional. They keep me updated all week on the progress of my car and have it ready when they say it will be done. I hope I don't need to use their service anytime soon, but if I do I can rest assured my car and I will be in good hands.

Great shop, repainted my bumper and replaced the headlight on my GTI quickly and with incredible customer service!

Mackin s did a fantastic job on my car. Mark was my technician and was very thorough and kept me up to date on everything he did. I appreciated being kept in the loop. When I first took my car in, Mark walked me through everything that needed to be done. They also had the rental car company bring me a car and I was able to drop it off there when I got my car back. Great customer service. Best of all is my car looks like nothing ever happened! Excellent!

The crew at Mackin s did a spectacular job at fixing my car while also in a timely fashion. When I got my car back it was cleaner than when I dropped it off! That was a very nice surprise. I will surely be using them for any future car work.

Really hard to imagine less helpful people, except the last one we ran into who helped get our unrepaired car towed.

They had pressured us into signing a release on what seemed like a minor fender bender for Geico (Their Geico Express repair shop). When they noticed a couple of 1/4 inch creases in the frame they totaled it, at which time Geico decided not to repair. They refused to put it back together, as it was driven to their shop without a problem, this seemed less than helpful. Geico refused to tow it away at their cost and eventually did tho with a good deal of pressure and repeated requests.

They did not mention this possibility they would not repair it to us in pressuring us to sign the release and then leaned on the release to treat us with little or no consideration.

Only 1 person (not our rep) did anything to help. Careful signing their release. Be aware their price structure is not the bottom line in repairing very minor issues. Be aware that if you feel pressured to sign something so you can quickly get your vehicle repaired - it may not be.

These are not bad people or thieves but be aware they may not have any of your interests in their procedures.

I would never use them and would recommend friends to avoid them. The Geico appraiser was in shop and shared a large office with the repair shop rep.

Our truck was vandalized recently and the service we received at Mackin's
Auto Body was superb.

We were able to drive the vehicle to their lot, right before closing and Kelli was very nice and helpful. She had a car moved, so we were able to park our truck.

All thru the process the staff were very respectful, understanding and making sure our needs were met.

Unfortunately our vehicle was a total loss, but the transition was made so much easier with Mackin's assistance.

In the neighborhood, but estimate was unacceptable.

Excellent body shop. My 3 yo nice found a sharpie in our 2016 Sienna and decided.to use the car as an art canvas. Dash, doors, seats...a total mess. Mackins fixed it up good as new. They even fixed a loose fender for no charge as a bonus. I have used these guys several times. Great shop, highly recommend.

James was very professional and consistently gave me updates. Very friendly and professional. The car came back looking better than it did before the accident.

This place does a great job and has excellent customer service. My canoe fell half way off my roof rack and caved in my rear passenger door, rear passenger quarter panel, and caused some other miscellaneous damage. I was able to schedule an appointment super fast through my insurance, got a quote in less than 30 minutes, and got to take it back for the repair about a week later. The kept me up-to-date via texts on the progress, and finished the work a day ahead of schedule (it was in the shop for roughly 2 weeks). The end result is flawless. You can't tell it was worked on. Top notch shop all the way around.

James and the woman at the front desk were really responsive! I had a family emergency arise in the midst of my repair and they expedited the process and had a shuttle driver for me to use. Thanks Makin's in Kenton.

I brought my car for some checkups in the engine yesterday. These guys were very thorough and outstanding in their work and service.

Job was very good. Took a little longer than I was told, and no text or phone calls on progress. But very good work.

Mackins repaired our bumper in an insurance claim and did a very sloppy job. We asked them to do a better job and our Insurance agent agreed to cover the costs. We droped off the car on tuesday morning and I had to drive my girlfriend to work along with her child to his daycare for three straight days, A total of 9 hours of driving. My girlfriend called Mackins today which is Thursday to find out when she should pick up her car this afternoon. It turns out that they did nothing to the car the last three days because our insurance agent wanted to come take a look at the car. Why did nobody call us the last three days while we were car less? I asked the representative who was covering our case at Mackins and he said that he had been very busy and thats why he called us on thursday(today) to let us know nothing had happened. Yet, he didnt call, my girlfriend had to call today to find this information out. Why not just have us drop off the car when you are ready to start working on it? Why did they not take any accountability for wasting out time? This is very frustrating as I will have to spend the next week transporting again due to their negligence. The representative seemed very nervous because he knew he should of called us. Rather than even apologize he blamed everything on All State. Save yourself the trouble and do not do auto-body with an incompetent business

They did a fantastic job on my truck, and on time. I enjoyed doing business with them.

Repairs were well executed and they did a great job of keeping me updated on status. Staff is polite and professional.

This shop seemed to specialize in good timely quality communication. I appreciate the text updates and immediate follow up by the office when I needed a more personal touch or additional information.

Honest hard working-class environment, took the time to address my needs

I have gone to Mackin several times over the past 20 years. Every experience has been awesome! This time was extremely warm and personable. Mark and his team not only fixed my truck but they also cleaned what hadn't been moved, washed, touched since March! I was so excited about the service and the wash that I almost screamed when I saw they had cleaned the inside as well!! I was really grateful as I was about to head to the nearest car wash place. Thank you guys for the service and the kindness. See ya next time.. But not too soon!

Overall great experience. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. My window glass claim was handled very professionally and I received regular text updates on the status of my repair.

Mackins did an amazing job on my car, had a quick turnaround, worked directly with the insurance company for payment, sourced a new OEM part for the repair rather than a used and/or non-OEM part, and kept in good communication throughout the process. Lily was very patient, helpful, courteous, and prompt with everything. No one wants to have their car wrecked, but if you do, head straight to Mackins North Portland to get it fixed.
