Oh hey wow I'm a local guide, look how easy Google makes it for me to look like a credible source. This place is pretty dank tho.

We dined at Ay Chiwawa on December 30th and had a poor experience. The food took around an hour to arrive. However, even after this wait we were missing the extra avocado we ordered for one meal and our granddaughter's entire meal. We were told it would be out shortly. After 20 minutes when everyone was done eating, we were asked if everything was alright. We had to remind our waiter that we hadn't even received the kids enchilada plate or the sliced avocado. We didn't receive any extra napkins when we asked, nor was ketchup offered with the kids chicken. Our drinks were refilled as we were leaving. It was just an all-around bad night.

This was definitely not my 1st visit but first time in a while, thought I d give them another try.. I guarantee you it will be my last. Went through drive thru, ordered bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taco. They gave me a bean and cheese, once I finally got the got the attention of the girl at the window. I told her the issue she snatched it out of my hand came back a few min later with what I ordered BUT it was cold, cheese couldn t even melt because the eggs, bacon and tortilla was cold.. I m done with this place. The last 3 visits had been just as bad.

I'm very blunt and honest with my reviews...
This place has a nice vibe and friendly staff. I enjoyed that it wasn't overcrowded.
Now, for the real reason i am writing this.

The food was alright. I ordered nachos, had practically no beef, the cheese wasn't melted, and the beans were so runny they could have beat Bruce Jenner in the Olympics. My brother ordered a quesadilla, IT CAME WITHOUT CHEESE and only had meat. He ordered a quesadilla not a taco. When they remade his order it had almost no cheese in it. Had to ask for extra. The flan was hard. Quality didn't match the price.

Good food Great service our waitress Michelle was awesome. Definitely recommend her and Ay Chiwawa Mexican Cafe.

The staff is very on point and the food is delicious. Most of the plate sizes are good for the price except the asada taco plate. For the price I expected a bit more. Other than that great place to eat.

Very nice restaurant, conveniently located near our hotel, great food, customer service was pleasant. Reasonably priced. Very spacious dining room, including a bar.

Clean restaurant! Owned by Las Palapas one of my faves. Closed on Sunday to worship. Food is good.

Tried this place for the first time and we were so happy to find Mexican food that taste so delicious. We live a little far but will travel the distance because its worth it. The servers there, are very pleasant and helpful with the menu. The mole is excellent!

Absolutely amazing food and service. The Mexican Martini is fantastic!

Just got the wawa burrito. Chicken fajitas were juice and tender with a crisp outside. Flavor overall was excellent. Ordered to go. I hear they have service problems but all new service business's usually do for the first couple months give or take a month. I put 4 stars only because i feel the sauce and cilantro topping ratio could have been a little better. But i would def. Recommend this place. (I was) Greeted with smiles and food was excellent

Great prices, great food. Very nice staff. I got some basic bean and cheese tacos and they were a lot bigger than expected as well!

This Wawa Bowl is one of many of my favorites dishes here! So much protein and good fats and it a very generous portion!

Repeat customer. Lunch today. Very good wait service. The food is at best average; we have decided to not return again as there are too many better places. The margaritas were bitter, just not tasty. We ve given this restaurant several trys and it just doesn t get any better. Good-bye Ay Chiwawa!!

Like the food but it's kinda pricey, good for once a month if that.

When it first opened, we visited there several times the first two weeks. It was great. Now, when we order to-go, our orders have been plagued with errors... missing food, wrong food, burnt food. Last time we went, I asked for borracho beans instead of refried. The refried beans were scraped from the to-go container (remnants were still there) and replaced with a small salad. No borracho beans were in the bag. Because this was the 3rd time our order had been wrong on a to go order, I called the manager. He apologized, and said they'll TRY to work on it. Love having new restaurants coming into our area, but want them to meet the needs of their customers, too.

My first time here. The mole enchiladas were the best. I'll surely recommend it to all my friends and family.

Food was okay. Service fairly poor. Waited 25 minutes for an old fashioned. The server did not know what it was. Bartender did okay with it though cheap bourbon spoiled the rxpectation.

Hey everyone. I m leaving a 1 star review after eating here several times over the past 7 months. The issues I have with this restaurant revolve around the inconsistency with the food meaning I ve ordered the same thing each time (Tacos Callejeros) and I either get onions and cilantro one time, another I get avocado sliced or a liquid drizzle (not asked for but, comes with and the service is so-so (they re constantly hiring ).

However the one item that drove me over the edge was the fact that they offer a 25% military discount BUT, this offer is only for the service members meal... not the family or simply the entire bill. For instance, my wife decided to pick up dinner on her way home from work the other day and when she flashed her dependent ID, the manager said he would NOT offer her the discount. Needless to say, we will not be eating at this establishment any further.

No soap in either of this two sinks to wash your hands, or paper towels to dry them. I told the manager and he said I have to put my hand in front of the sensor to get the soap to come out. My nine year old son walked in behind me to wash his hands too when he walked in and said, "great, there is no soap". The manager was standing around and talking to the female wait staff when we walked in. Then tried to convince me that I didnt know how to operate the soap dispencer,... Needless to say, we didnt eat there. Lord only knows when the last time any of the food prep staff washed their hands.

Barbacoa amazing. Green hot sauce excellent. Was skeptical when my parents took me to this place, but it passed the Sheena test.

If you find yourself here with an appetite, Ay Chiwawa is a satisfying experience. Everything they served us was tasty, and the portions were a comfortable size. Our order: cheese enchiladas, beef texmex enchiladas, and the kids had been and cheese burritos. We also got queso flameado it was all good. Wait staff was kind and attentive.

Tortilla soup and carbon salad was awesome!! We will be back soon! Very reasonable prices! Seating was safely spaced out and our server was the nicest guy!! Can't wait to come try the margarita next time.

Great service but portions were just atrocious.
I got the puffy taco plate with chicken but I did not find one piece of chicken in the tacos and I asked for light guacamole but there was more guacamole than anything else.
My mother got an enchilada plate and the cheese inside was cold and not melted
Her boyfriend got a wawa burrito and there was barely any beef inside.
It looked like a great restaurant and I hope your experience is better if you decide to try it but I wouldn t recommend this place myself.
We could ve came at the wrong time or this could ve been a rare mess up but I tried to treat my mother and her boyfriend to a night out and this isn t the experience I wanted for them.

Had a chicken flauta plate which did not disappoint. I really like the openness of the restaurant and the waitstaff is really helpful.

Food was absolutely delicous for the price point. Chips and salsa were great. Wait staff was super friendly....and they offer 25% off for first responders and Veterans! So happy we tried this place!

Probably won't go back. Made a reservation. We initially thought our waiter was great. Didn't turn out to be great. Asked for additional chips. Forgot. Asked for additional wine. Forgot. Did not follow up on our needs. Had to flag down for our check. Disappointed.

Food was pretty good, especially the wawa burrito. I was very impressed with their salsa s as they have a nice variety but the flavors are very unique and flavorful. Service was acceptable but having only gone once, I don t want to generalize it off of one experience.

I've been here several times and really love it. The place is clean, the food is awesome and the prices are reasonable...try the "Wawa burrito" or the "tacos al carbon."

The puffy tacos were awesome, and the cheese enchiladas were out of this world

Good food & our waitress was very efficient & nice, even with two rambunctious toddlers! I recommend it!

The chips and hot sauce were pretty good and the prices were reasonable. However, I thought the place was very loud and almost impossible to carry on a conversation with a person setting across the table.. The place was half empty and it still took over an hour to get our food, which was not very good. In general, the service was very poor and I will not be back for a second time.

The food was delicious. The service was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Absolutely nothing negative on my experience there.

I went here to have lunch, and you have to seat yourself there. I asked for a menu and the guy at the bar said he would get a menu, but he was kind of rude about it. Somebody else came and gave me a menu. I ordered the AL Carbon salad. I ordered refried beans instead of borracho and they were very chinchi on the beans. There was maybe three bites on my plate. The green sauce that they had smelled kind of like metal or lead... Not sure? Weird!!!
However, the waitress was nice, and the bathrooms were clean. That's the highlight of this place. Also the food did arrive fairly quick.

Good prices, very nice staff. Food is generally good. Did get one appetizer that looked nothing like the pic in the menu and tasted very bland.

This place is awesome! My wife and I go here several times a month the dining room is extremely clean/modern and nothing we have had on the menu was bad. The enchiladas pablanas is my go to and is consistently good. The staff and management are very friendly and even during this COVID junk have been on their game.

The food was terrible. It was bland and the tortillas on my enchiladas were soggy. The salsa has some weird taste to it.

Not that great I can get better Mexican food in NC. Good service just not up to par on the Al Pastor tacos,no pineapple in them. Yes they are supposed to have pineapple.
