Stayed here on a Monday night for a convention in ...

Stayed here on a Monday night for a convention in town. I was a guest of another company and that company paid for the room and provided all payment information in advance for a large number of people. Unfortunately, the hotel charged the room to my credit card anyways (since you need to give them a card for incidentals, etc.). They now have double dipped since they also charged another account. It has been 2 days and they still have not credited by CC after they have been talked to about this issue.

Now on top of this, someone cloned my CC and used it for some fraudulent transactions. I am sure it was due to me using it at the hotel since #1 - I only used it once in CHI, and only at this one place while in Chicago, and only at the front desk, and #2, the bogus card was used in Oakbrook, IL. 48 hours after i checked out. So not only had the hotel screwed me, but a thieving employee took my CC info and sold it, or used it to make clone of it and rip me off.

Very disappointed in all of this. Still waiting to get my room charge credited back........

The hotel is very nice, other than all of this mess.

Platinum SPG member. Twice in two days Sheraton employees entered my room while the do not disturb sign was active. Once an employee walked into my room while I was in the shower. The hotel had no comment.

Very comfortable, but expensive, and poor in-room entertainment.

I was at the Sheraton Grad for two days of company meetings and activities. While I live in the Chicago suburbs and normally commute to/from my work in Chicago, I chose to stay at the hotel those two nights due to the late festivities and needing to start meetings early the next day.

As part of the 2 day company event, they arranged breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner with seating in the banquet rooms. We have a few vegans in the company, and so some vegan entrees were available upon request. The food looked fancy and the quality and taste was fair. I'm not a gourmet cook, but I could have done better at home, or gotten better at the nearby Whole Foods or any of the many nearby restaurants.

The room itself was comfortable & clean.

The included/free in-room entertainment options were fairly poor. They wanted you to pay above market rates for movies & wifi. So, bring your entertainment with you. Note that there is an AMC movie theater about a block north of the hotel.

The basic wifi was supposed to be free for Marriott members. At check in, the clerk looked up my membership, noted it on the booking, and said my wifi would be free, but there was a charge on my final bill. I called & left a detailed message with their billing group, but never heard back. Either dishonest or incompetent front-desk staff and poor customer service.

The cost of the mini-bar food was about quadruple what you would pay for the same food at the gift shop, which was about 50% more that you would pay at a grocery store. Note that there is a Whole Foods market about a block NNW of the hotel. So, buy your drinks & snack at the Whole Foods, or at least at the gift shop, before resorting to the minibar.

I went there 2 times once this year and once last year. It is a amazing hotel. It is a very clean place with great service, a nice pool and a good hotel gym. I got the lounge both times also and it is amazing, free wifi in there, nice view in there and a good amount of food which is pretty good. Also a great view from my room too I had a 29 floor room and a 31 floor room and both had great views. I would recommend.

This is a well-organized Sheraton that's great for business travelers, couples and families. The rooms are nicely appointed, very clean and upscale without being ostentatious. I would say the Sheraton is built more for function than opulence. It's not a honeymoon hotel or a once-in-a-lifetime place. But it's amazingly perfect for business travelers used to a certain level of functionality, cleanliness and professionalism.

I was here for a large conference with upwards of 600+ people and everything worked out perfectly.

The location is great as well and you can walk to Michigan Avenue within minutes.

You won't be disappointed if you're here on business!

My family and I (7 adults and 3 children under 10)...

My family and I (7 adults and 3 children under 10) decided to rent a car and spend the holidays in Pennsylvania and Chicago. In Pennsylvania, we stayed at the Grand Marriot and we were very well pleased. However, when we arrived at the Grand Sheraton in Chicago we were amazed by how beautiful the hotel was. Once we arrived in the hotel the pool wasn t working, and if you check the website you really have to search to see where it says that it wasn t working. So the kids were already upset. They also say you have a mini fridge in the room, but when you open it it s actually a mini bar, and you can t use it. So we had to put ice in a little trash barrel and put the children s food there. Since there were 10 of us, we got the connecting rooms, and one of the bathrooms there was a sink without a cabinet!!! It was really just a sink! It was an absurd. But ok, we moved on from that. On the next day, we went out the whole day, once we arrived in the room OUR BATHROOMS WERENT CLEANED! They just took the old towels and made our beds. They didn t replaced our soaps, shampoo, coffee, cups, anything (I have videos!), and they only put 2 towels on each room, being that there were 10 of us. So I called the receptionist, and I asked her politely to send us more. It took then 2 hours to do so, and they forgot to send us toilet paper, since there was none in our rooms. So I called them again to complain, and she forward me to talk to the manager, so I did. He was very rude and he said that he didn t know why the room wasn t cleaned. So, we have another shot, and on the next day they did the same thing. At that time, we were very upset. I mean, we paid almost 2 thousand dollars to stay 3 nights there, and we were treated very disrespectfully. The other thing that happened was with the valet. The valet was $69 a night, and we were driving a van (for 15 people), and they said that they couldn t find our car, they took us to the basement, and they couldn t find it, so they finally found it, which took them 30 min. The valet guys didn t even helped us out the bags inside our car! One of us was in a wheelchair, 3 children, 3 women, 1 teenager and 2 men. Overall, we had an awful experience at the Grand Sheraton in Chicago. We certainly will not come back. It is a very expensive hotel and you are not even treated right. I hope this review will help you in the future!

Location of Hotel was ideal, Room and facilities were good, Gym & Pool were utilized and ideal for what was required.
One issue that we didn't realize is that if you move anything on the table (snack counter) or in the mini-bar, you are automatically charged for it even if you don't eat or drink anything, we were being charged for refreshments that were still in the room but we obviously moved them slightly thus the charge.
In fairness this was rectified quite quickly when highlighted but you'd imagine there would be some reconciliation between lady that replenishes the stocks and the billing in reception.

Enjoyed our stay - staff polite

The most delightfully charming registration assistance of my life. We received three outstanding suggestions of things to do - we did them all on day one and experienced the city from an insiders perspective - I will be back with friends and family. Also we had the most incredible view of the river straight out to the lake and the view was only surpassed by the ability to watch the thunder and lightening roll in across the lake from our bed - truly magnificent. The Sheraton is the only place to stay.

Check in was awesome. The staff in the ChiBar needs a little customer service skills(was rude). Morning breakfast was amazing. My server Sharona(i think that is her name) was very welcoming and personal. Only downside is, no hot tub and pool area was a little stuffy.

I stayed here for a work conference which was held in the ballrooms on the 5th floor. The food they served during the conference was pretty good for buffet food just in terms of variety and freshness in preparation. The hotel room was clean, large, and the beds were comfy. The view of the Chicago River from the window was amazing. The only con was the minibar/fridge. If you so much as touch or pick up any of the items, you will get charged even if you don't consume anything.

Great location next to almost everything at walking distance, friendly and helpful staff. Old building they should consider doing a good remodeling on inside, beds are comfortable furniture outdated, feels like a 60's theme. Air conditioner was not working well, it was on all the time but room wasn't cold enough.

Never received my customer rewards points, even after speaking to a gentleman customer agent at the front desk, who promised to take care of the missing points situation; which ended up being a blatant lie.

Older hotel in a great location. Rooms need some TLC and are small. Could hear the room next door without trying. Lobby is nice and convention facilities are up to date. The staff was great. Would stay here again as long as the price was right.

nice rooms and hotel but pricey and they charge you for every little thing that other hotels don't. They charged my credit card for things I shouldn't of been charged for and had to call and complain about it to get a refund which they gave me a hard time and once they finally issued me a refund it took another 10 business days for refund to show up on my credit card.

Really great location and generally nice hotel but I probably won't stay there again. Perhaps I expected more for the price. $45 - $51to park per night. This just felt wrong.

The TV in our room didn't work which is not a big deal as we weren't there to watch TV. The temperature in the room was only adjustable within a few degrees so it was a little warmer than we like.

Nothing major just a huge, expensive hotel that seemed to lack a personal touch. The location is great if you're exploring downtown.
