Dr Ortega was a great surgeon, and Eric Vacco has been good to work with too. The billing department on the other hand sucks. I was paying through their online portal every month and got a notice after a few months that my account was heading to collections. They were taking my payments from my bank account, but not applying them to my bill. After having to prove to them I was paying my bill, they stopped me from going to collections. I kept having to call them back to see what was going on with my account, because no one could give me a straight answer. Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience, or their incompetence and broken billing system, or try to fix the issue. They basically told me if I don't trust their system, to snail mail my payments. The girls(that's all I have spoken to) on the phones here could care less about helping you and appear to be miserable.
I was released from the hospital and told to follow up with this office. I called them on a Friday and their earliest appointment is 3 weeks out. I told them I only have enough pain meds for a few days. Since then I've been in a great deal of pain calling them everyday for 3 days trying to get a refill of my pain meds. Finally on Wednesday they called me back with my prescription an hour and a half before closing and said I had to pick it up that day or I would have to wait until Friday. Considering I can't even walk yet, getting there before closing was difficult and painful. Their office staff is also rude and unsympathetic over the phone. If you have the ability to use a different establishment I would definitely save yourself the hassle and skip this place.
Absolute WORST bedside manner. Husband has been in the hosptial since Tuesday (it's now Friday) and has only been seen once! He was supposed to be discharged today. I took time off work to go get him (we live 60 miles from the hospital) and here it is 7:00 pm and no discharge orders yet. When you call their answering service you are told the nurse needs to call! WTH! I guess the only way they can get patients is because it's Trauma and there is no choice!!!!!
I was involved in a work accident involving a tractor where I was run over. I broke my pelvis in 8 places and really messed up my knee. The care I received was great and I would recommend everyone in need of orthopedic care to seek the care of the physicians and staff at Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons.

My wife has been a patient of Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons for over 5 years. She has had 3 major surgeries. 2 where on her femur with great success and the last was a total knee replacement, which she is currently recovering from. The care and concern given to my wife has been wonderful. The doctors staff are remarkable. As a caregiver, I certainly recommend this clinic.

The physician assistant was great at showing me my x-rays, MRI and provided great advice for my pain management.
In my opinion Dr Laura Prokuski is not a professional she cares more about what someone said about a patient that the patient injury she did not even look at xrays did not care that the patient that was in her office was told by the ER doctor that they could lose the use or have to be amutated if they did not get surgery I thought that when a person is hurt dose not matter what happened before I came to your office you should take care me that's what most medical professionals do but not Laura Prokuski she will get an opinion of you before you walk in her office
My most recent procedure was a bone graft performed by Dr. Ortega at SurgCenter at Pima Crossing. Dr. Ortega was able to clearly define procedure and answer any questions. The nursing staff and SurgCenter at Pima Crossing made me feel comfortable. I am happy with overall quality of care.
This office sucks. Been waiting 5 days for a response from Dr Ortega's MA. Call the office, they direct you to a line that goes straight to voicemail. Left 2 messages, and I have no idea if anyone has even got it. Follow up is terrible. I am still waiting for a callback. Customer Care seems second rate here.
Dr. Gilbert Ortega and now I can walk again. Carbon fibre rod and screws on the right tubular and bone graft. Pretty impressive.
The surgeon was great. What they charge patients for their care is appalling. You better have premium health insurance AND a boat load of cash saved to pay them, because even if with insurance you'll still owe them thousands of dollars out of pocket.

This place is HORRIBLE. Worst customer service ever. They are so rude. The stupid girl takes my 83-year-old grandma's x-rays to another place doesn't call and tell anybody and then the other girl at the front is completely rude and disrespectful. and now we have to drive completely across town to go pick up x-rays that they took to another building for no reason. And they had no care in the world and they said pretty much it's your responsibility. even though they were supposed to call us and tell us that they had driven the x-rays to another place. I wish there was a negative stars you could give I would never in 1 million years recommend this place to anyone stay away
Impossible to get someone on phone. Impossible to get orders or answers through portal. Two different surgeons so of course two different appointments, on two different days, not caring that it is 40mile stretcher transport each time. Left staple in incision that had to be removed at home. Not impressed with this facility at all or the office staff. The main surgeon is great and explains things clearly,however needs to be more available or get staff to actually help and listen to patients and families.
Dr Miller is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country. He is intelligent, efficient, has a sense of humor and is empathetic. He tends to be a little clinical with his patients, but his skill level is exceptional. One of his greatest attributes is that despite his exceptional skill, he is still humble. The staff is equally good, and always pleasant, and obviously love their boss. A Great place I would recommend to anyone who needs a top notch orthopedic surgeon.
The entire Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons staff are very nice. Always greet you with a smile and do not give any attitude at all. They are great every visit.
Just want to say from the very beginning of my experience in the ER all the way to now. The doctors and staff have all been amazing, thorough and caring. Cannot think of anything negative to say. The entire experience has been great.
