They have terrible customer service at this place. They apparently do not want to sell cars. My wife and I were denied a test drive on a vehicle that we were very interested in and their explanation was incomprehensible to me. Please do not buy a car from them, there are better Ford dealers elsewhere.

Our company just purchased a 2020 Ford F150 XLT. We did most of the dealings via email, text and phone. We only went in person to sign the paperwork and pick up the truck. When we met our sales person we were beyond shocked that the sale came with his personal views on the world along with f-bombs every third word. We discussed not buying the truck but decided to complete the transaction. We were given a key code only to discover that truck didn't come with that option, there was no engine cover (some people say it doesn't need one but we paid for it) and we only received one key. We had zero interest in dealing or speaking with our sales person ever again so we reached out to the sales manager, Roy and he responded that he would make things right but he needed a day to make it happen. Seven days, eleven phone calls and two in person stops later we still were never able to speak to him again. We have had a second key made and purchased an engine cover on our own. We will never step foot in Avis Ford again. We have been in the service industry for over 30 years and this is our first time ever leaving a one star bad review.....but they earned it.

I have to say JZ is truly a nice person. My experience pre-sale was great. It was the post-sale that caused me so much headache. I started out going through JZ but he ended up going on vacation as soon as I was ready to sign my papers. I got approved for a newer used Chrysler 200 for lease under the "second chance" program. Before JZ left he sent all my paper work to another sales agent named Chuck. Chuck also was nice and like I said, I did not have any problem pre-sale. I did explain to both that I am a single mother and I can not afford to have a vehicle that does not last because of what I had been through previously with a similar situation. They guaranteed the car would be fine. I got the car on June 20, 2014. On June 21, the service engine soon light came on. On Monday, I took it back to the dealership. I heard from them on Wednesday June 23 and they said they had to send it to the Chrysler dealership. The Chrysler dealership had it until July 3rd. This is ridiculous!! Apparently it was the PCM. I was so pissed off!! I held my composure. When I finally got my car back it was still riding funny. I didn't complain as the service engine soon light was not on. I am not 100% sure what the dealership did to my car but it took my car from July 3rd to August 18th for my service engine soon light to come back on. I took it to AUTO ZONE for a free diagnostic and they said it was the PCM again! I took it to my mechanic who confirmed the same thing. So again, inconveniently, I had to take my car back to AVIS FORD to get the same issue fixed, again!!! They sent it back to the Chrysler dealership. Come to find out, in April (twice) it was sent to Chrysler to fix the PCM. Then again in June when I got it and now in the end of August. They have had my car again since 9/2/14. I don't even think it's been worked on yet. This is so absurd! I called and spoke with the used car sales manager. He was a total ass!!! His attitude was so cocky and arrogant!! So unprofessional! I am a small business owner and accountant, I would NEVER talk to my clients the way he spoke with me. I told him my short, horrible history with the car and explained that in the state of Michigan this is considered a lemon. I told him that I may have to contact a lawyer shortly because I refuse to be in debt due to an inoperable car. His reply was "so what do you want me to do, you got a lawyer"!! He told to not throw up the lawyer word. I held my composure and spoke with the manager of the business. I left him a voicemail on 9/8/14 and he called me today 9/9/14. I explained the situation with my car. I also tried to explain the situation with the rude used car sales manager. He cut me off telling me he is only worried about the car right now. He will check on it and call me back. What he fail to realize is that their could have been an even bigger law suit filed against this dealership for selling a car with such major issues. The breaks are gone as well. I have a baby. God forbid I am in the car and my engines blows while Im driving or my breaks go totally out while I'm driving and my child is in the car. That could have done major damage or even taken lives. Instead of being incompetent ignorant cocky ass holes be compassionate and understanding. If it was their families I am positive they would be handling it probably way worse than I am. I would NEVER recommend this dealership to ANYONE!! Not just because of personalities but because of the damage that can come to you or your loves ones driving their vehicles!!! P.S. Any one that complements JZ or some of the other sales agents in the reviews below are getting incentives for their positive reviews.

I went into Avis with a coworker as he was looking into buying a Focus ST. I came along as I can drive a manual while he can not (not very well anyway - this would be the first manual he would own). My coworker was very excited to see how this car would feel compared to a regular focus. Further, he was planning on making a decision within the week and no matter what, he was getting a car! We met with Lee. As soon as Lee learned the purchaser was not fluent in stick shift his attitude changed. He gave us a spiel of not wasting his time and this is what he does for a living and so on and so forth. My coworker, being very upset with the lack of enthusiasm the salesman held towards helping him purchase a car, complied with Lee's protest of a sale and immediately left.

Now, I have no idea how Avis is with regard to the rest of the sales process as we barely were able to sit down. They may be great to many other customers and in most other situations. However, in this particular case, it was not a good experience. I do not know if the salesman was having a bad day, or was tired (it was 7:30pm) or didn't believe someone with little manual experience would buy a manual and didn't want to be thrown for a loop (pun intended) but I do know that Avis Ford lost two potential costumers that night.

I summary, based off other reviews, Avis could be great, just not from my experience.

Terrible customer service. I bought a used Fusion in August 2017. It is over 4 months later and I still do not have the title from the state. I called after the first three weeks. They told me to wait 3 more weeks. I called again and they told me that "this happens". In October, they told me to come back to the dealership to redo the paperwork. Another 4 weeks later and I still did not have the title so I called again at the end of November. Once again, they told me "this happens". They said that they do not know what happened other than the their title department says they submitted the paperwork. Now twice. Spoke with Jason and also someone in the Finance department. They told me that there is nothing they can do. Told me that they would send a check immediately for $50 and that I would have to use that to go to the Secretary of State and try to get the title myself. Quote: "Do you want us to send you a check? Take it or leave it." In frustration, I told them to send me the check that day. This now 10 days ago. I have received nothing. They said this happens all the time and it is not their responsibility to get a title for a car that I bought from them. I have bought many cars in my life and have never had this experience. I have a purchased car with no title. Unacceptable! DO NOT USE THIS DEALER.

They are asking me to pay for the damages they made. I am one unsatisfied customer. So if you ever need to patronize a Ford dealership for maintenance look elsewhere!

Lou M. Is the best! I told him what I wanted and he didn t try to convince me otherwise, he listened and made me really comfortable with the whole car buying process. During the final stages of my 1st car buying process I completed it with Thomas Humes, great guy walked me through everything and made sure I understood every document he placed in front of me to sign and also made sure I didn t leave with doubts about my car. I highly recommend this dealership.

I brought in my Fusion for a faulty throttle body. My Fusion has 145k miles, however, Avis honored the extended warranty that was on the part free of charge. Not only that, but I called a few days before and they were able to book me in for service. The car was going into limp mode, but Avis got it back going the same day. I was very impressed with the concise and clear staff members, and not only was I shuttled home, but I was also shuttled back to the dealership to pick the car up. They even washed the car. I was very impressed with their customer care even though I've never been there before and my car was out of warranty. Thank you, Avis Ford!

Spent more than an hour with us going through all the features in the car and helping us personalize all the features. He goes by JZ and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a new Ford vehicle.

I took my car in to have my water pump replaced, (July 28, 2020). My radio was was working just fine.
Fast forward to August 4, 2020. I picked my car up, and realized my radio was no longer working. As I pulled back up at the Dealership, I explained what was going on and was asked to pop my hood, which I did but still my radio was not working. I then spoke to my Service Advisor and he spoke with his Supervisor, his supervisor told him to do a diagnostic check.

Long story short I was informed I would need a new radio!! To say I was baffled was the least. How is it possible that I need a new radio when my radio was working perfectly fine when I dropped my car off. I then spoke with the Supervisor (very rude) that stated basically it wasn t their problem and I would need to replace my radio!! I just spent over $600 to get my car repaired and now your telling me I have to pay over another $600 to get a new radio that was working perfectly fine when I left my car in the possession of Avis Ford.

I am highly upset and will never do business with Avis Ford again. I will continue to fight, and make the phone calls that need to be made. I should/will not pay for something that I did not break.

I purchased my 2015 Explorer through JV/Melissa (the internet sales team) and the experience was great. They were very responsive to my needs and the entire process took only a few days. I just don't have time to spend 2-3 hours in a dealership and had a few appointments the same day I was scheduled to pick my truck up. No problem, JV opened the store early and I was able to take delivery within 30 minutes-he even covered all features and SYNC system in that time. Finally, a car salesman that makes buying/leasing a car easy. JZ from Avis Ford understands that people are busy and makes it convenient to test drive a car and make the purchase. He made it easy for me to lease my new car, including delivering the car to my driveway. I had a question about the functionality and he sent me a youtube video he created that showed me how to adjust the settings. The leasing company was calling me to tell me I owned on my past car and I referred them to JZ and he took care of the missing paperwork to settle the issue. JZ takes the stress and pressure out of buying/leasing a car.

I turned in a 2016 Ford Explorer and leased another vehicle with Ford, a 2018 Ford Expedition. The 2016 Explorer was looked over upon turning it in and I was told it had normal wear and tear. All was well. When turning in a lease and getting a new leased vehicle, Ford is supposed to apply a $300 credit to your account. This was never done. I also was notified that I indeed had been charged for wear and tear only after a debt collector contacted me at work. I was never notified by Avis Ford. Additionally, this "new leased" Expedition has had 7 recalls on it. Ford would not take the vehicle back indicating the parts were still under warranty, engine and transmission issues were among items on the recall list. The truck does not sound like a new truck. I have tried several times to trade this truck in for something that I feel safe to drive. There has been no real concern for Ford Motor Company nor their staff concerning this matter. This is my 4th leased vehicle from Ford and definitely my last. And not to mention, this has impacted my credit score and Ford still has not contacted the debt collection agency to let them know the error was on them and not myself.

I am a repeat customer at AVIS because of the quality of the salesperson with whom I work. He has consistently been helpful, well informed and goes way above my expectations to provide great service. Several years ago, when I was shopping he set up 3 vehicle I wanted to test drive, go t all the info together and I was able to shop everything in only several hours. My current experience was just as good. He shoveled tons of snow off probably 20 vehicles so my wife could shop colors. Lou Marchesi is the best!

BUYER BEWARE: Purchase process went very smooth and fair and that's where the good stuff ends. They sold me a $30K certified used lemon. We bought the car with 3000 miles on it, car has stalled 20 times in the most dangerous driving predicaments (left hand turns in heavy traffic) putting my families lives at risk. Avis, Ford Engineers, The warranty company & other dealers we have taken it to have no clue what is wrong with the car as it never throws a code. It has been in the shop for stalling and qualifies as a Ford Certified Lemon; this month alone it spent 3 of 4 weeks in the shop with no solution. So here we are with a $500mo car payment for 7 years and cant drive the car without risking someones life.

I brought my car in to get an oil change, tire rotation and transmission/ clutch looked at. Not sure if the Oil got changed, they took off my old sticker but wasn't replaced with a new one. Also, the washer fluid light was still coming on and completely empty. The tire pressure light also came on after having it back for less than one full day. I took it back in and the one guy who worked there gave me a free oil change for next time. But, how am I supposed to know if the oil even got changed if all of these other things were missed? I have had so many issues with my 2013 ford focus. Pretty disappointed actually.

Edit: I traded my 2013 ford focus in for a 2017 ford escape. I am very pleased with everything thus far!

I've had to take my 2016 Ford Fusion Energi back to this dealer six times(not a typo:6) because their techs do not know how to repair the evaporative seal/emissions on the Energi. You'd think by the forth or fifth time they'd give up and give me a new car. Instead of that the service Mgr said that normally they do not provide loaner cars for free. The sales rep JZ was great but the car and the service at this dealer should be avoided. Ford: "Tow Further".

Bought a 2017 Ford Fusion. Car salesman told me it was AWD and I didn t feel the need to check because I assumed he was honest. A few weeks later I mentioned it to someone and they corrected it and explained how they knew the car wasn t AWD. It was also raining the day I bought it so the walk around was rather fast. Come to find out there s is a major scratch in the passenger side of the car that seems it may have been keyed prior to me purchasing (something the salesman knew I m sure). All around I wish I would have shopped around a bit more and was more aware of the things I was being told.

Not only was my salesman attentive to my needs, but I was able to witness consistent teamwork during my experience. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I went in for a scheduled appointment dealing with a recall and had to leave my car for the repairs! Upon arrival, the attendant knew my name before I could tell him who I was!
They dropped me off at home and came back to pick me up upon completion! Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional! No issues, no problems, and no charge!

We were very impressed with our salesman. He was very friendly and helpful and was not pushy. Thomas Griffin was top notch. Unfortunately, the front seats were tight from the sides and front and back. Probably because of the added third row seat. Also the seat was not comfortable at all. I wish it was like the 2014 one we sat in because we probably would have bought from him because of his personality. I feel bad we couldn't give him our business. So I hope that with this review he will get some more sales.

The ad line for this dealership is right on the money... I love my Avis Ford , because its true, I love this dealership! They ve come through for me so many times of the last 17+ years. Great service and sales department, always friendly and thorough, willing to go out of the way to help get you the best deal that you can afford.
Most recently, my sales rep, Walter Simmons was absolutely stellar, handled my early lease turn in and got me into a beautiful F-150 for a more than reasonable price! I ve always wanted an F-150 but didn t really think I could afford one, with full-sized trucks being $40+k
Walter was able to get me a 2 year lease with a really great price, sign and drive, no hassle, super easy and I was pulling in my driveway a few hours later with a beauty of a truck!

My husband and I purchased at 2017 Lincoln MKC from Avis Ford at 29200 Telegraph & 12 Mile Southfield Michigan 48034 on Feb. 28, 2019. Our salesman Tim Yinger was very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. I have purchased many cars but I can't remember any salesman who made me feel like I was the most important client of the day. We will be returning to purchase more cars. It is a beautiful vehicle and a great deal. I love my car.

Definitely recommend Avis we ve bought both our vehicles from Avis and I only get oil changes, repairs and maintenance from them. They don t try to up sell repairs you don t need, but they also do a good job in repairs, both in the service center and the body shop. Also, the used cars dealership has prices that are fair and they helped us get financing for our cars.
